741  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Proud partner of Southampton FC 🚀 on: August 29, 2020, 06:33:25 PM
The previous day showed the participant pool dropping by 2, from 90 to 88. Those that were dropped are the following:

Code:
hid****5
One****6

Remaining participants just got their final prize increased by 2.2%, to 11.36 mBTC.

Almost 1/3 through. We're down to 23.7% of the original player count.

That's it! Now you can just wait until the flag gets enough support.

Mother of all chests . 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Got 20x 0.05 superme baccarat free bet
Assuming that the minimum prizes do grow linearly, we have this ramp-up for the smaller prizes (but that wasn't the main reason the competition was +ev):

7 day: 0.5 mBTC
15 day: 0.75 mBTC
25 day: 1 mBTC
50 day: 1.25 mBTC
Maybe it'll go up to 1.5, who knows.

Regardless, the prize pool, once divided between the participants, comes to an amount that is higher than all of the prizes combined.
744  Economy / Lending / Re: I need loan 0.18 btc on: August 29, 2020, 02:21:27 AM
If i got lucky from the lender in just 0.18 btc loan, i can repay up to 1.74 btc.
This brings the skepticism level up to 11.

You're going to pay back 9.67x the amount back as you were given? Normal lendees don't typically say that they'll do such things: typically, people are much more innocuous with their repayment since they actually intend to repay the loan.
745  Other / Meta / Re: End of 2020, damn it. on: August 28, 2020, 09:42:53 PM
Most of the drama you see there in rep is fabricated to stir shit on people.
I would say that most of the things that go on in Reputation are because of many thin-skinned users that subsequently get lambasted for being an idiot. For a section that should be for discussing grey areas when it comes to scam-busting, there is an awful lot of knee-jerk reactionary thread-making and ad-hominem being tossed around.

The cycle repeats on and on, with constant and predictable indignant retaliation and word salads.

You must create a topic describing the specific acts which damaged you. It must not be self-moderated.
You have to link a thread that shows evidence of the flag's claims (this one works). Threads on the forum can be self-moderated, which allow the creator to delete replies by their discretion: obviously, you wouldn't want such a thread to be the foundation of the accusation.

An interesting update to the game would be to continue the graph from the previous guesses, so that you have a sense of continuity and progression.

But if you look around they are known for making up excuses to void wins and they are known for stalling payment. I knew when they was trying to charge people to withdraw winnings this was a telltale sign to STOP depositing with them. I hope you get better from the CoronaVirus its a nasty disease and I have had family and friends to die from it. I for one will be boycotting this casino from here on out. Shame on Fortune Jack!
Don't be so quick to believe everything people say. Just a few weeks earlier, there was a sportsbet.io incident where the user in question accusing the casino was actually breaking ToS with multiple accounts, admitting to it. Suppose I decide that I don't want to verify my ID and instead use a service, and then upon being caught I post on the forum, claiming that I am deaf and disabled.

Does that justify the fact that I willingly provided fraudulent details? Remember: you have no assurance that the claims are valid. Have a little skepticism, will you? This is the crypto space.
749  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: August 28, 2020, 07:02:16 PM
If I had 30+ thousand bitcoins, I would totally gamble with 1000 of them as well.
And that is precisely why I consider gambling addiction to be a much heavier financial burden than any other type of addiction (apart from outright giving your money away or other pedantic examples). There's a limit to how much heroin, for example, someone can be subjected to before their consciousness disintegrates. But with gambling, where's the stopping point? Problem gamblers usually have trouble controlling their emotions, and will be dragged into the adrenaline-fueled losses until they finally bust.

Imagine having a dynamically-scaling burden on your hands.

However, these progression strategies actually do help in sports betting though to a greater extent. You can actually have an edge over the house in sports betting as long as you are really good at predictions.
I would argue that flat betting reduces the volatility to the minimal level and that progression strategies are more harmful to an advantage player than they may imagine.

As soon as you increase the volatility, you immediately suffer significant consequences. Always be aware that risk of ruin does not scale linearly: for example, you may experience a 10% risk of ruin betting at 1 unit, but if you increase it to 1.9 units, suddenly the risk of ruin jumps to 30%! Consider a simple situation: assuming you had a 55% chance of doubling your money, would you rather place ten bets of $5, or one bet of $50?

Impatience and the scarcity of human life is the motivator for any progressive measures, but a rational agent would literally bet the minimum amount to reduce volatility. You can look upon other casinos as an example of this in action: maximum bet limits exist.

The previous day showed the participant pool dropping by 3, from 93 to 90. Those that were dropped are the following:

Code:
mat****2
MIN****1
YAS****I

Remaining participants just got their final prize increased by 3.3%, to 11.11 mBTC.

Same number of participants as yesterday dropped out.

some say for something to exist it needs to be observed. but no thats just registering a bureaucratic record of something. undocumented migrants exists. tree's blowing in the wind still blow in the wind when you dont look at them
Ah, but that is actually not a certainty.

It is impossible to dictate whether something exists until you are aware of it, as far as most definitions would account for it - wouldn't you say? One could surmise, "some object exists," but would have no basis for creating such a conclusion without either a tautological redundancy or an empirical observation. Note that when we talk about the quantum mechanical 'observer' we don't mean an actual human observer, per se - the slit experiment's observer was with scientific instruments and measurements, not the naked eye. Though, one could argue that it required a consciousness/sentience to observe the data. Smiley

existence doesnt need to be physical. there is many things that are not physical that exist. gas, digital info exists
True! Though, it is also relevant to note that the only difference between gas and solids are temperature - the speed at which those particles are moving. One could also technically say that digital info is physical in the manifestation of waveforms - (i.e. how would we access information that does not exist?)

existence means its real. solving/finding/locating/observing it to prove it. is just bureocracy
Perhaps we go off different strains of the word "existence". Maybe you mean, "manifested in physical reality," but more in the context of the human perception?

It's only a small percentage though while it could affect the outcome of your bets it won't matter that much unless you're going to make a lot of bets.
As far as anyone is concerned, or rather - as far as anyone should be concerned, if you place a bet while incurring an edge, then you have already lost even before the result has come.

From a wave-collapse model, your average expectation is negative! If you were a 5D entity and could collect all the various manifestations of your person after each possible result of any given bet with a house edge, what you would find if you were to sum the winnings from all of those timelines is that it's actually less than what the collective started with, prior to the bet. Volatility is one thing, but never delude yourself when you gamble by saying, "there's a chance I can win."

It's true. There's a chance you can win, but the odds are against you. There's also a chance you can win the lottery, or a chance that you can win a jackpot.
754  Other / Off-topic / Your favorite ontological theory on: August 28, 2020, 08:47:17 AM
Since the dawn of the Off-topic board, we have asked such philosophically immobilizing questions like, "what is your favorite movie?" and "What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?"

Because we have been captivated by these higher-level thoughts, I figure it would be better if we transfixed ourselves upon some more innocuous questions, like for example: "What does it mean for something to exist? What is existence or how may we define it?"
755  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Proud partner of Southampton FC 🚀 on: August 28, 2020, 08:33:51 AM
Were the prizes from the first few milestones posted anywhere?  Just curious.
Not publicly, no. They were simply referred to as "small/medium/big/mega" surprise packages in the ToS.

756  Economy / Lending / Re: I need loan 0.18 btc on: August 28, 2020, 08:26:19 AM
I tried to loan from the bank but i failed to the following requirements. Yes it is risk free that is why my loan request(0.18 btc) is small and it was my personal business. Well i can repay in 4 months and it is successful, no need to worry about it.
Think of it from a lender's perspective. Imagine: a Newbie account shows up, says that they will provide government ID for their loan request of 0.18 BTC, which is a significant sum of money. You already know that this is insufficient collateral (i.e. you will be unable to sell it in the case of a default) and you also know that this is something that can be bought, albeit from unscrupulous sources.

What do you think the lender would do in this situation? Would they send the 0.18 BTC to someone like you?
757  Economy / Lending / Re: I need loan 0.18 btc on: August 28, 2020, 05:56:09 AM
100% i am legit okey and not a scammer. I am very serious when it comes to loan, just send me an inbox message and then i will give it to you my info.
That doesn't answer the question I posed about collateral.

Lenders take collateral so that in the case of a default, they have some insurance so that the loan isn't as risky. Otherwise, you're practically donating to a random person. Like I said, getting your ID doesn't help a lender, even in the case of a default.
758  Economy / Lending / Re: I need loan 0.18 btc on: August 28, 2020, 05:32:59 AM
Never mind the fact that people can just buy government ID off someone else for much less than 0.18 BTC...

What good will the ID do in the case of your (likely) default?
You have nothing else to offer, except for someone's identity? There's no guarantee that the ID you provide matches to a real person, unless you're willing to carry out a KYC procedure live. Even with that, it would take a lot of effort to collect on the debts - a lot of busywork after the fact.
