The things we asked for will likely take a while to produce.

Someone on the Internet disagrees with me...guess that makes me an idiot. If you wanted a 100% refund you should probably have bought 10k chips on your own. A mans gotta eat.
746  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: September 04, 2013, 06:52:26 AM
Very disgusting when some group buy leaders took advantage of the situation and start charging 5% or more for the group buy refund. When Yifu gave a 100% full refund. So those Greedy and Selfish group leaders we know who you are. These group buy leaders organised DIY and buy pcb, parts etc, thinking of making more money greed but who in the first place went a head and spent money on this parts, you yourself are to blame. Why blame those who choose to only want the chips and nothing more. If you choose to charge 5% or 10% on those who requested you to buy parts for them that may be more reasonable, why put everyone in the same group.

Answered your own question there bud.
747  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: September 04, 2013, 06:47:22 AM
I'm only aware of ONE seller who decided to fuck people with a 5% penalty, and that's Steamboat.

In addition to the chip purchase, he also pre-sold Klondike parts assembly services. Not only is he only offering a fraction of refunds on the hardware costs for those, he's also not refunding people's ASSEMBLY and shipping costs, for services that weren't even performed (obviously). What a fuckstick.

Then there's Raginazin who just up and lost his fucking mind about the time everybody's money was paid in, and disappeared. Odds are pretty good we can get John K to process the refund on that one...

Either way, I think the other group buyers ran their buys in a professional and fair manner, and didn't try and rip people off.

If you dont like it, dont get a refund. Do you pitch a hissy fit at best buy when they charge a restocking fee? Or eat the 0.50 cents.

Ok, all the PSUs are tied up now, and 2 gpus are sold. 18 left to sell.

Most of the info is on the litecoin forum.

Realsolid and mtrlt are old pals, I am really shocked anyone is surprised at their method of operation.

<ad hominem nonsense snipped>

You want your refund, yeah we get it. The rest of us are recalculating based on btc pricing and looking at ROI time shortening significantly.

Oh really? I've seen more refund requests than 'i want my chips' requests since 29th of August. But apparently you know more  Huh

Apparently I do, if you check the numbers, they are still heavily on the I want my chips side. I dont think the excel sheet although self appointed has even reached 1/3rd of 1 batch yet.

<general ignorance snipped>

Perhaps we should all get steamboat to call you so he can go over there and hold your hand to make you feel better. You did read the first post right about how you should only invest .....how much?

We chose steamboats group buy because it was expedited and we paid a premium so we would get our boards first. Under a week vs 2-4 weeks for other group buys.

You want your refund, yeah we get it. The rest of us are recalculating based on btc pricing and looking at ROI time shortening significantly.

There is something to be said about Steamboat being the only group buy manager not willing to provide refunds when it seems to be the norm among all others.
I have the impression that the other group buy coordinators don't have as much sunk (unrecoverable) costs in the PCB & assembly as steamboat. Correct?

I'm not drawing any conclusions, just trying to get a fact straight.

True, when you pay an assembly house non refundable deposits you tend to tie up a lot of money. Boxman90, your language and demeanor and constant desire to get everyone whipped into a frenzy is the issue. SB has parts prepped and sitting waiting to be used, so yeah I can understand someone taking their time to do this the smart way. Or we could all rush out and demand refunds. I am sure he is negotiating a deal with yifu as we speak, have some faith and stop trying to push peoples buttons. Take your meds dude.

He's likely on vacation with the rest of the country.

No he's not, he replied to one of my mails basically telling me to shut my mouth, and he's online here all the time. In fact he's online right now. There's no excuses. He got 50K USD from us to provice service in this groupbuy, fuck his 'vacation'. When there's a lot of time pressure (this wednesday Yifu is likely going to send the batches that didn't ask for a refund), and you have chosen to take on a task like this, you better be god damn ready to actually provide your customers with a basic level of customer service.

This includes him safeguarding the god damn refunds before it's too late.

Anyone remember before boxman90 came on here and started making this personal and unprofessional? Those were the days.
756  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 02, 2013, 02:36:31 AM
Seriously, I hope to god there isn't enough refund requests to have a forced batch 1-6 refund, I'd be hella pissed.  I'm in batch 1 & 2, I see better than roi currently with 20-30million per month difficulty increases.  I want my miners.

Also I got a question for steamboat and others about self hosting vs hosted services.  Would it be smarter at this point to change to hosting if my electricity is .14/kWh?

Doubt it. Maybe if you were under 0.08.
757  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 20 AMD 7950 GPUs on: September 02, 2013, 02:26:40 AM
I do have them, had not thought about selling them really as the psu can be repurposed for other .....things I am working on, but I could part with some of them. I will need to jot down the models and post here, but iirc they are 1200 atx corsair psus and msi mobos.
758  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 20 AMD 7950 GPUs on: September 01, 2013, 11:50:07 PM
If I pay USD, what methods do you accept?
Cash in the mail would be about it, but that would take longer. All other methods credit card, check, money order etc are not accepted as they tend to have a myriad of potential issues for charge backs or scams.

Were there not updates to the design since the last firmware update?
