Alrighty, wish I could test out devcoind a bit more thoroughly, would be nice to see if it can handle patches.

Did you already reup to that link Killer? I got time to test it out now.
1724  Other / Off-topic / Re: What to do if you're crazy about a girl that has a boyfriend? on: December 02, 2012, 09:42:32 PM
Patience, most men are inherently stupid in their decisions, if they happen to break up when you are still single, then be a friend when shes looking for a friend.

Its all good, I figured you were just busy Tongue
1726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: December 02, 2012, 08:03:29 PM
Ok, killer just to be safe, add those two files to your zip and I think it will work, I experienced the same issue when I did the install. One of the dlls I downloaded wasnt any good had to get another for libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll. Any way we could change the programs name from bitcoin to devcoin?
i will fix that so u dont need it! did i really forget to rename it from bitcoin to devcoind? that would be a shame ^^

EDIT: nvm i did rename it.

EDIT2: uploaded newer bundle with static linked libsdtdc++ and libgcc

When I run the program the taskbar still shows it named as bitcoin, and the ico for the file is a bitcoin, could you snatch the logo from devtome.com and put it into the program killer?

Did too Tongue
1727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: December 02, 2012, 07:59:35 PM
Probably, I think I asked killer to adjust that in the code, but I dunno if he updated it yet. I have not reinstalled it yet to test it. When I mouse over it in my taskbar it does say "bitcoin" I just checked but the logo is different from the new bitcoin logo, its the older gold coin that is yellower instead of the new orangish one.

Is it a secret what % of total DVC developers hold right now? I mean, the idea of investing resources into coin where small group is so
powerful that they can play with the value of the coin and even null it not just once but almost countless times is not my favourite one.

I wonder who and how came up with idea that 90% / 10% split is ethical.  Huh

"We get 90% of generated coins from now till eternity" does not sound to me like a good long-term stability plan, but more like ruler of all
rulers ultimate wet-dream-came-true.

In theory, it doesn't go to a small group of people, instead anybody who is doing open source development can get a share.

In practice, however, you might be right.

According to current rules, ~80% is supposed to go to projects which add value to DVC, and 10% to free form bounties.

I've asked about more concrete rules (like who is eligible) but got no answer.

I think the rules should be viewable on devtome.com now, the wiki was being fixed when you asked last time. Unthinkingbit can probably point you directly to the parts that relate to your question better than me.

It hides by the clock, just double click it.

Devcoin is an ethical currency where 90% of the generation goes to open source developers and 10% to the miners:

Of the 90% of the generation that goes to open source developers, part of that will go to bounties.

The intent is to have the devcoins available (90%) to cover starting with lower priced projects such as killer's windows binary he just made. So we can motivate people to cooperate to make open source products for everyone. In the long run the devcoins can even be used to fund medical trials for free treatments of medical issues. Or fund open source development of more efficient vehicles etc etc.

In Russia there is no laws about bankruptcy individual person, it privilege of large wealthy organizations.
Unfortunately I don't know much about the existing laws in russia. But this doesn't make sense. Unless the only way to become debt free is to spent some prison time.

Dont drop the soap.

Good point, just saying if he wants to start over somewhere, I wouldn't just go to another part of russia.

Do what everyone else does, fly to mexico, come across our crappy borders. Shoot you could probably walk across without an issue cause you look white at one of the checkpoints. With 6,000$ you could easily get started and just find a job at a farming community somewhere.

I thought that fee was 20BTC. If he keeps it its clearly unfair because you paid for a service you never received.

I really dont even remember what I paid lol, I just remember him saying sucks to be you then the site went down. So I kissed those btc goodbye.
1740  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario on: December 01, 2012, 06:53:29 AM
Nefario refused to return the 8 Bitcoin to me. Good luck everyone.

Any more infos? I mean he was in contact with you and didnt want to give you your user money or what are the 8BTC? Sounds like there is more to this story.

Probably the same as mine where I paid for an asset to be issued, and he refused to assist/answer questions and then the site was taken down like a day later. So in short he fleeced as many people as he could then cut and run.
