741  Bitcoin / Project Development / Free open-source Dice Script with Chat Box (Provably Fair) with Admin Panel on: May 13, 2020, 08:56:51 AM
Hello Guys,
So day before yesterday (halving day), I was enjoying chatting with other Bitcointalk members on Discord server created by Cyrus and was looking to do something else on my parallel screen. At first I started playing poker but lost first couple of bets and soon realized it wasn't my day. Then it stuck to my mind why not create a Dice Script! For next 4 hours, I created a complete dice-game with provably fair add-on and a chat box from scratch. Yesterday, I had office meeting so finally got the time today to deploy it and created GitHub Repository too.

So people, presenting you my Dice Game Script:

GitHub Repository: https://github.com/web-tricks/dice

Online Implementation of Script: https://casino.webtricks.website/
(I am giving away 500 BTC to everyone just for signing up so go on give it a try).  Cheesy

If you wanna test admin panel, check out this implementation: http://dummy.webtricks.website
Username for admin account is: 'admin' and password is 'admin123'

I have created the game on single-page application model. There is only single page on the site: login, register, game, provably fair verification, chatting, everything can be done from home page itself. The site isn't optimized for mobile display so if you open it on mobile, don't get scared.

Note: I have written the whole script in just over 4 hours and haven't tested any code except some basic validation so make sure to test each and every line of code if you plan to use any part of this script for PRODUCTION PURPOSE.

More guide can be found in README.md file in GitHub Repository.

If you like the script and want me to add more games and deposit/withdraw functionality to the script, write down below to let me know.  Wink

GG's all! Tonight was a fun tourny  Grin

Don't feed me this bullshit, lol! Who goes against all-in with 5-10 offsuit? Really! High card: 10, not same suited, difference of more than 4 between cards. No chance of straight or flush with both hole cards, awful chance of pair and that too a weak pair. Even newbie player won't play this hand. But you went against me with these cards and surprisingly won!! I felt like killing you at the moment. Tell to the Goddess of Luck who was on your side yesterday and dealt 5 among community cards that next time her charm won't work.

@tyKiwanuka why didn't you play poker this week?
744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One thought about what can happen after the Btc Halving. on: May 11, 2020, 07:12:27 AM
The reduction in electricity consumption to maintain the network means that the difficulty of processing a block of transactions will decrease.
Theoretically, this means that it would be easier to attack the blockchain network and create 51% of attacks.

What do you think?

I would use the word 'comparatively easier' instead of 'easier'. Creating 51% attack still gonna cost lots of computing power. On top of that, it will be wholly loss-loss situation for the party so I don't understand why would someone do that. Better use such resources towards mining new block to make network stronger (win-win).

Yeah its true that bitcoin halving is going to increase pressure on miners and managing overall mining costs is definitely a big issue here. After halving if bitcoin keep holding its price towards uptrend than it will be a little relief for miners. Most important fact is miners have to cover their costs anyhow otherwise a big number of miners will shut down their rigs for sure. So during halving only bitcoin price can help them to tackle the upcoming situation.

I don’t believe that miners will take hard decision to shut down their businesses for ever but most of them will try their best to survive in a situation like this.

It's simple math that in order to keep all current miners profitable, Bitcoin price needs to increase by two-folds. I don't see that happening any time soon. So miners will leave, no brainer in that. However, number of miners and hash rate are dynamic. These things keep moving up and down with the bitcoin price. Even though few miners leave after halving, there's high possibility that they start machines again when bitcoin price booms.
745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Covid-19 : Covir.io tokenize(CVR) Biosafety licenses with Tezos Blockchain on: May 10, 2020, 01:50:01 PM
At first I thought this is another project made to take advantage of Covid situation. But after digging deep, it turns out that the project is made to back 32 years old listed company making robots for disinfection system. ICO is being conducted to raise additional funds needed in order to meet the demands for robots. It is good to know that tokens aren't barely trading instrument but will represent the ownership in the royalty distribution of Octopus Robots's income. 50% of the royalty will be distributed among token holders, not bad.

I liked the project and good to see that ICO is being conducted for some tangible product and not another imaginary Utopian thought which never gets fulfilled.
746  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Secure is Blockchain? Please Vote! on: May 10, 2020, 07:31:26 AM
Blockchain System is like 'Political Party'. Alone it doesn't have much power but once it is backed by people, it can gain the control of the country's government.
Blockchain's security depends upon the number of participants that are actively devoting their resources for the greater good of blockchain. Higher the number of participants, more difficult would be to hack the blockchain. And when we say hacking blockchain, it usually refers to the situation where a person can mutate the chain's data and transmit it as valid chain among all the connected nodes.

@morvillz7z, your recovery from 325 chips to 4th place is one of the most mind-blowing thing I have ever seen. That 33399 against 3333 was criminal. I don't think I would have recovered from there. But three of a kind with QQQ made you win 3 good hands. Congo!

I don't know why I went all-in with 44 against FOMA. I just needed to fold 2 more times to get 3 instead of 1 point. That lucky SyGambler taking 3 points even without playing! Criminal!

750  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Random Token Exchange. An idea. on: May 08, 2020, 03:36:55 PM
Will there be any parity in the total supply of tokens allowed for swap? I don't want to have 100 X tokens for my 100 Y tokens when the supply of X tokens is 10M and of Y tokens is 1B, right?

Will there be any minimum trading volume constraint for the tokens allowed? I don't want to have 100 freshly created X tokens for my 100 Y tokens which are into existence from 3 years and have $100K volume on other exchanges, right?

I can sense an interesting venture into your idea but it still needs so much refining to develop into something tangible.

'Aarogya Setu' app launched by government works exactly as you are suggesting. Data of citizens are filled on the app and it will alert you if someone with Coronavirus symptoms come close to you. However, an ethical hacker questioned the security of app last week to which Aarogya Setu team replied that the app is completely safe. Here's the snippet of questions and answer from team:

(open image on new tab for clear view)

Although the questions raised by hacker aren't related to personal data but still I think introduction of blockchain based database will help in complete security of personal information.

Man I feel like I was really close. Lost my hand against an AA. I had A3 and on the deck there was another A in the pre flop.  I was fucking programming myself that with I will not go ALL IN with A and anything below 10 but why the fuck I did, I have no clue.

Have over 33k chips. Called on pre flop, flop, turn, and river with ALL IN. For a for few 2nd I just could not think much and ended up with losing ALL. Just few hands before I had around 49k+ chips too.
Shit happens!!!

Once again we ended together. I finished at 17th place just one above you and we were out at the same time on same hand just on different tables. I had AQs and left with 16K chips. That was do or die situation because everyone else had staked too many chips. So I went all-in and the opponent had A4o but another 4 was dealt on table and I lost the hand. I hope for better luck next time for both of us and wish that we both end up on final table. Cheesy

i've played on sportsbet with my android phone. the one problem is the software won't allow you rotate to landscape mode, so the view is quite compressed. it's playable, but hopefully you have a phone with a big screen.

Are you sure? Because on my phone, it won't allow me to play on portrait mode instead. I have to rotate screen to landscape mode to open poker screen. Here's the screenshot:

On the bottom line, I just want to say I'm really enjoying the series. I had to adjust playing against alts/inactive in the initial matches but with time I am adapting and now it is easier to survive against them. Just want to request one thing Steve, Please change the timings of tournament from 7 GMT to 5 GMT. 7 GMT turns out to be very late for Asian and Australian members (I was disqualified at 3:10AM according to my local timings). Also I think it will hinder the dinner timings of European members. Cheesy 5 GMT is sweet spot and kinda ok to play for everyone across globe.

754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which of the two will you choose as a gambler? on: May 05, 2020, 03:41:13 PM
Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I have read all posts and even though voting shows 50/50 response but the overall conclusion is that most of the people prefer Option 1 as they prefer for convenience and ease the most. With additional 2FA layer, everything is quite safe, making Option 1 the preferable choice among casinos and players.

The team was considering Option 2 because it has more flavor for cryptocurrency users. A person who prefers keeping full control of his funds (by using cryptocurrencies with private key security) would like keeping full control of his casino account too. But it turns out, people don't consider that much.

Some people questioned that Option 1 is completely safe and there's no reason why one should make things more complicated by using Option 2. Well, to certain degree that's true. But every system that is dependent on third party (email in this case) cannot be considered entirely safe. There is high chance that important information may leak in transition which is entirely out of user's control.

This gives me a new idea where the gambling sites could actually ask the gambler to choose their own security option and the gambler knows if he will be playing small or big and hence he can decide the method based on that.

I don't think any website would do this because it will make very difficult to maintain single database and unnecessarily create complication in the working of MVC (Model-View-Controller).

And what if I told you that I wasn't the one who played that hand which turned the table! Well yes, it was already 1:15AM here and I was feeling dizzy. I had 35K chips while other two had some 9-15K chips. So I handed over laptop to my father and went to get some coffee for both of us. And splash!! When I returned, I had like 14K chips.

That may be the most dramatic thing ever happened but right from the position when I had 39K chips and you three were struggling with 5-5K chips, I dropped to 3rd position. LoL! It was big hit, I still couldn't believe what just happened.
Your old man ruined your party LOL
Well some debt paid I guess, tell him fuck you dad

Haha! I don't mind much to be honest. Coronavirus and lockdown brought us together after long time. This may be first time in several years that we both are enjoying something together, who knew a poker game would bring us together. I don't remember when we sat together after 11PM last time.

He started sitting with me from the 7th game of the series and everytime I finished in top 10. Before that, I failed to make to top 10 even once. We have a variation of Poker in India (known as teen patti) and it has different set of rules. He keeps suggesting me to call/fold/raise on the basis of teen patti's rule and God knows how but suggestions work sometimes. Cheesy

Well on serious note, I would really like to thank everyone who made this series possible. It surely gave me moments to remember for rest of my life especially the ones with my father.  Smiley

And yeah, congratulations TikTok. I really hate that app but you were awesome tonight. I thought I caught you on that hand but you won and I had to settle for 3rd place.

I am loving how foma is going strong. At some stage when we four were there, he had around 4kish chips. Started with me and now he is the chip leader. webtricks really made some bad call. I think when he had over 29k chips, he got a bit relaxed and wanted to try risky calls with the hope that it will click but Foma and TikTok took good advantage.

Edit: webtricks is out now. Both TikTok and Foma is going strong. WOW! It really is a game of patience and luck. You just need a good combination.

Account security and anonymity have major importance in crypto gambling industry. I will explain two authentication processes and their pros/cons that an under-development project is considering. Through this thread I want to take views/suggestions of the community on the better of the two processes. Here are the candidates:

Option 1: Email Based Authentication

Under this option, you will be asked by casino to fill username, password and email id on registration. To increase the security, you will be asked to set-up 2FA authentication. To make withdrawal, you have to confirm email id.

Pros:
Easy to use and remember system.
Easy to retrieve system if password gets compromised.

Cons:
Easy to hack and brute-force.
Identity may be linked if same email is used somewhere else on web.
Always need additional device (phone) to login (for 2FA code).

Option 2: Keys Based Authentication

Under this option, you will be asked to fill username and password on registration. Then a private code (long alphanumeric) will be generated for you and encoded with the help of password you entered in first step. Now you have to store private code somewhere safe. There onward, you have to paste private code and password to login into system.

Pros:
Complete anonymity
Highest degree of security. No one can hack or brute force your account even if database is compromised.

Cons:
Extra care needed to maintain the security of private code.
Since code is not saved anywhere on server side, losing code = losing account.
One mistake and your account is gone.
Impossible to change code. If you give away code to someone over phishing page, etc, then you cannot retrieve/secure the account again.

That's all. Which of the two systems would you prefer as a crypto gambler. Suggestions/views are welcome.
759  Other / Archival / Re: Let's talk Texas Holdem poker hands and how to play like a PRO? on: April 30, 2020, 05:18:14 PM
I played a lot of poker in college days however, with job and all, it's been a while since I last played poker. Then I saw Yahoo's thread on SwC poker tournament. I joined right away and it's been a first time I played online poker. So from last 4 weeks, I am playing poker once again, relieving my college days.

I have played like 1000+ hands in last 25 days, maybe more. But I will always remember one hand. It was on SwC Cash Table. I got Q10s (diamonds). 8d, Ah and 5d were dealt on flop. Although I didn't have any strong hand, I raised. 3 players folded while two called. Jd was dealt on turn. I hit the flush. I was sure that no one will have stronger hand if non-diamond card would deal on river so I raised twice. One of the two remaining opponent folded while other called. Now river card was dealt and it was Ac. Opponent had first turn and he raised to the pot amount. Now it was my analysis time, I made the use of my Time Bank and thought of all possibilities. I was sure about one thing, the opponent don't have AA because he was very calm in pre-flop. Players usually go wild in pre-flop if they get AA. So only possibility was Full House. I was continuously thinking is he holding two 5 or two 8 or one Ace and one 5/8. What made him playing so calm before seeing river card. Finally I reached the conclusion that he's holding one Ace and he's raising on 3 of a kind hand. So I went all-in and he went all-in too. Bang! He got K9s (diamonds) and I had Q10s (diamonds). That was the most unexpected result for me.

He was one of the best player I ever faced so far. Not giving away the hint that he had flush on river by playing soft and then raising on river to mislead the opponent.

Chess. Yes, that is correct, how about adding chess to sportsbet? You can make it wagering so two people could wager against each other, but also you could make tournaments as well, that way you can either join for free (freeroll tourneys like poker) or you can have buy-in and just play chess against people. Plus poker could take hours and hours, chess has a time limit hence could be quicker as well.

But there is one major problem in adding skill-based games like Chess on gambling platform, i.e. internet connection. In games like Poker, even if one player disconnects due to internet issue, he will be shown inactive and turn will be shifted to next player. But in case of games like Chess, you can't shift turn to next player without making any move. One solution for that could be to declare one player loser if he doesn't reconnects after certain time but you know people, they will blame SportsBet even if their own internet is shitty. I can't imagine how many refund claiming emails SportsBet start receiving after implementing wagering on such skill-based games.
