743  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull Run in Bitcoin on: March 03, 2022, 12:03:43 PM
Very happy because today the bitcoin price skyrocketed to 14%, I'm sure that in April there will be a new ATH again, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow the bitcoin price may have reached $50k, let's continue to buy and hold, don't panic if the price drops because the global bitcoin community is very strong so that it will make the demand for bitcoin continue to rise and of course the price will skyrocket.

If I were you, better not talk about new ATH, might be better to observed the price movement. Yeah it did grow tremendously in the last couple of days even after there is a ware between Russia and Ukraine. We need to see first the price going to $45k and staying at that level. I think that's the max price that we are going to see this month is around $47k-$48k before another correction. $50k might wait for a while.

I love all this talk about skyrocketing. 14%? Yes it is a lot,,, but we all know Bitcoin is fully capable of 20% jumps and 20% crashes. In fact,,, more often it is the crashes that we talk about since that happens more frequently than the rises.

Anyone who think this is abnormal and is indication of ATH probably needs to look at historical price charts.

ATH is near $70k so yes,,, many many resistance points to meet on the way there!
744  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You don't need to hodl a particular coin all your life on: March 03, 2022, 10:19:10 AM
The problem with this risk taking for most people and I say this also for myself,,, is that people are actually highly unaware of the actual risk they could be taking.
Most of the holders are hoping that one day their coin will gain its value in the market. Which for me is understandable because you won't spend your funds buying a coin not hoping that it will do good in the market. However, in most cases, projects are being abandoned by their respective developers because they have no intentions to move forward in the first place. As they are only after for the quick cash that they can pocket while there are naive users buying their coin. Sad to say, many investors will only find out this treachery once the team disappears. So if you want to hold a specific coin for long term, better stick to the top alts like btc and eth, because their existence has been proven that they have solid foundation in this market.

As I said, in the end if people enter without realizing the full risk, they end up holding and hoping and dreaming. I cannot tell you just how many times I meet people hodling bags of crap that keep getting crappier,,, and they cannot see anymore they hold only hopes and dreams.

I can say this without arrogance because this is who I was and what I became. I learned quickly however,,, and try to get people to also not make the same mistake.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you lend your cryptocurrencies? on: March 03, 2022, 08:32:03 AM
Well you guys obviously do not really pay attention as almost the overwhelming majority of people who are borrowing money from these platforms are putting collateral of crypto or even NFTs as that is popular now.
Depends on the lending platform because some platforms can accept a wide range of collateral. This forum can be one example, because there are lender here that will accept a forum account and they can also accept any other things as long as it has a value.

Cryptos and NFT values are volatile. Fiats and alike are stable but I think fiats can get devalued overtime? There is no safe collateral but every collateral has their own risks. Is there even a lending platform where you cant be able to see the loaner's collateral? So, they will just say that this is their collateral but you cannot verify it if they really own it? That practice was too unsafe, why would someone use that?

Yes,,, but we are obviously discussing these platforms where you lend and earn interest. And that interest is based on repayments from borrowers, who have to put up collateral, which is always in crypto.

On this forum, you borrow, you do not lend.

Exactly.

I've tried to look into borrowing before with a platform and guess what? They're even asking more than the amount that I am about to borrow as collateral.

There's no sense to borrow if that's going to be the collateral they'll be asking you. It's better to just sell that stuff collateral you have and avoid the debt.

Like I was saying, most of the guys commenting do not even know what they are talking about. Just spamming.

I agree with you in principle,,, but I do understand why some people would want to do this.

For example, if I have 1 BTC, I do not want to sell it. Or NFT. But I would like to buy something big that I am willing to pay instalments for. Like a car.

So I can put BTC or NFT as collateral and borrow 90% of the value, and pay interest until I paid it all back.

Yes, it means I lose because I pay interest, but I did not have to let go of my BTC/NFT. And I still got the car.

747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is refusing to block Russian customer's crypto wallets. on: March 02, 2022, 03:49:29 PM
I am not a Binance supporter but I think trying to lay the blame on Binance for not blocking regular Russian people is unfair giving them the light of events that they were among the first to donate to Ukraine,,, remember that those in power and the elites are less likely to be using Binance or any exchange I think.

Regular Iranians and Regular Cubans suffered for years because of idiot leaders. I always thought that was extremely unfair for them.
748  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Crash in The Next 2 Weeks? on: March 02, 2022, 03:01:13 PM
Don't believe other people's posts on Twitter. in fact no one knows that this is true or not. it's better to think about strategies to increase your assets rather than worrying about unclear information. we don't even know who wrote it. things like this are very much on social media, tiktok, or even youtube. my advice, don't take that to your heart. if you feel he is right, just prepare it yourself. I think many people will not believe that.

Kind of a useless thing to tell most people on crypto social media though  Grin

Everybody follows somebody and most people actually believe the people they follow. I remember many influencers talking about 31 December 2021 and they took down their Tweets when nothing happened then!

I even prefer people just continue to follow and get ruined. It makes the market better for the rest of us in the longterm!
749  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You don't need to hodl a particular coin all your life on: March 02, 2022, 01:52:52 PM
This is where risk taking would set in on which you should really mind about those possibilities because not all investments would end up on being profitable and its part of the risk
which you should be aware off on the first place.Selling or holding is someones decisions on a particular coin or project that they've been holding for too long, some might be worth
but its not an assurance that it would really give out that kind of positive outcome in future years to come and everything would really be in random.

The problem with this risk taking for most people and I say this also for myself,,, is that people are actually highly unaware of the actual risk they could be taking.

Firstly they may not be aware that majority of these coins will never make mainstream adoption, hence, no utility, hence has much much more risk of going to zero than to x10 or whatever it is.

Secondly, they may not even be aware that the risk doubles and triples with the time you hold. If a coin takes 2 years and does not innovate,,, and others take its place, it will lose more and more probability of reaching a good market price.

So people hold and hold. Their dreams and hopes grow stronger while their risk goes higher and higher.
750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now it's meta here and there on: March 02, 2022, 12:23:35 PM
Remember when it was blockchain this and blockchain that everywhere in 2017? Now it is P2E this and NFT that and metaverse everywhere. Before, of course,,, it was DEFI everywhere.

I am seeing now totally unrelated projects to gaming and metaverse now talking about building NFTs, making games, and making virtual worlds and avatars. Seriously,,, pure DEX and DEFI projects adopting these hype nonsense.

This is crypto I guess.
751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 02, 2022, 11:19:31 AM
Yes, on paper Inter will win but indeed, sometimes the relegation zone teams can make a surprise and if that happens then maybe Milan and Inter can definitely be left behind from Napoli. Also, if that unwanted result happens then we will get where Juventus might overtake them later, this competition is even more interesting now that they are both inconsistent.

And it would seem that judging from the Coppa Italia game of yesterday,,, none of this teams want to win or even score.

At least Atalanta already found their way back to scoring goals. Napoli has stuttered and fell out of Europa, so they now have nothing to do but fight in Serie A. I feel like every Italian team has lost their pre 2022 form and are now suddenly struggling everywhere.

The league table would look strange if we started taking only from January!
752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 02, 2022, 10:13:09 AM
Remember the Everton handball that was not given as a penalty by the VAR official?

Well,,, it seems they (the refs) have now admitted it and issued an apology to Lampard. https://www.football365.com/news/everton-duo-lampard-kenwright-receive-apology-var-controversy-man-city-rodri

As we all could see. There was no offside. There was a clear handball. Even Pep himself said penalty,,, And yet VAR made the call and the referee did not get a chance to review and make the decision.

I do not see a conspiracy,,, but Pep got off lucky and Everton are closer to relegation than they want. VAR is terrible in EPL.

Less said about Spurs Smiley
753  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Huge crypto scam that happened last year(2021) on: March 02, 2022, 08:58:55 AM
The huge crypto scam that happened in 2021 that nobody wants to talk about is the metaverse coin and NFT projects. 99% of them are pure ponzis and rugpulls waiting to be happened,,, and the old shillers are talking about them thinking people forgot about their past promoted scams. New chillers and influencers are just recruited by old pump n dump groups.

I must agree with this since this is what I experienced. I've also lost my funds when I invested them in NFT projects due to hype which is also my mistake. Most of them have turned into rug pull. One thing I realized is that there's no such thing as easy money or earnings. Most of them have turned into a ponzi scheme and those who invested first benefited from it the most. I guess every NFT would end up that way if the developers couldn't handle it well.

Well I hope this makes you learn your lesson. I mean, the lessons are all there already, the mistakes made by thousands of people (myself included in 2017),,, we hope always to tell people so they can avoid our mistakes. This is why I spend time sometimes talking about it even though they can sometimes be stuff that people dislike to hear.

99% of NFTs will end badly, and not because of developers but because of the intent.

757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the world running out of Bitcoin? on: March 01, 2022, 02:07:35 PM
No the world is not running out bitcoins. Everybody knew from the start that there is only a limited amount of Bitcoins to be mined. That is also what makes bitcoins so valuable. If we could just create new bitcoins out of thin air the price would never be as high as it is today. Being independent from governments that create the money supply is what makes cryptos so attractive to most investors. The maximum limit of Bitcoins is a great thing and we don't need to worry about it. The higher the price will be, the smaller the denominations we trade in. 1 BTC could be worth 1 million USD and we would still use it.

I do not know why normal people are so worried or think it is a big deal. I know scarcity plays an important role but that for me is macro economics. If I wanted to buy $1000 dollars of Bitcoin today, compared to 10 years ago, it would actually be easier because there is more people selling and more exchanges and more liquidity.

I understand that for institutionals it could be a problem but for most of us, it has no effect. Just whether we get 10,000 BTC for $100 or now 0.0025 BTC
758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To what extent are Russians capable of storing their riches in Bitcoin? on: March 01, 2022, 12:17:49 PM
it is kinda dicey. With the free fall of the Russian Ruble, who will really want to sell their Bitcoin for RUB when others are trying to sell out of the RUB Huh because that is the currency they are holding to trade with. I think if this has not been done already, regardless of the options they have via these DEXs it will be deficult.

I mean,,, I get it yes if you ask me now I would not sell my Bitcoin for majority of fiat especially my own national one. I believe BTC will always appreciate in price.

But in this case it is different. If you want to escape or run from your country, no emergency transport is accepting BTC. You have to pay in local fiat so I guess this is about the desperate situation nothing about trading anymore.

Man you guys just have not given up talking about the same things over and over again.

I speak as a former campaign participant but more importantly,,, I speak as a current user. Other than that one day last month or something where things was down, every day for years I play normally. Sure, there was withdrawal issues but it has been fixed, and not to the very best as others but until today I play and withdraw and this is it for years.

I wish people who were not even users or gamblers just stop filling up this thread with the SAME OLD discussions.

All you guys who posted in the last 2 pages. How many of you are Bitvest players? What is your level there?
