Concerning your proposed advertisement in the boards during football matches and other places. I think this proposal would have been better if it was the first year of Bitcoin launch. I tell you that no single person that is playing football or even watching football that does not know about bitcoin. Anyone that has access to internet knows about Bitcoin and almost has heard about it. So, your proposal is necessary and no one will take that tax because bitcoin is a decentralized coin.

All these investment and research things plays well in altcoins, I do not think that it has major thing to do with bitcoin. I understand the reason Op is making this kind of bold proposal. If there are people that sends merits to their alts in the WO thread, I cannot tell but if we feel that there is unnecessary merit flow in the WO thread, what happens is to call the attention of the merit sources to it. If merits are given to merit worthy posts, that wouldn't be a bit of a problem. If there are 1000 quality posts a day in the WO thread, 20,000 merits can flow there.
If the people sending these merits are not merit sources, they should also be called out for sending merits to relatively low quality posts. I do not support deactivating merits in the WO because that is the most remarkable thread in the forum.

It is not only seeing bitcoin as a scam or a manipulated coin, there is another side of the story. Immediately people understand that you are into bitcoin, they will see you as one of the below;

• An enlightened person

I am a Nigerian and I can tell you that I have been in the shoes of what you have discussed or maybe I am a victim of this greeting topic. Nigeria has many states and different cultures. I am from the south. But when I traveled to the western part of Nigeria, I understood that they value greeting very well and when they greet, rlthe prostate until the Elder reciprocated by accepting the greeting before they will stand up. When I was in the West, I started greeting as often as they do, but I do not bow. After some years I came back to the Southern part of Nigeria Where I belong. I started greeting everyone, but they could not respond and they saw it as an unnecessary act. I was sometimes an embarrassment to me. But within few months, I understood that I have travelled to another part of life. I stopped greeting unnecessarily

So, some cultures attach much importance to greeting while others do not.

There is a saying that if you cannot beat them you join them. This very saying has its effectiveness most in the politics. And that is why you see the politicians jumping corridor at every political calendar year. In some parts of the world this set of people have formed a cartel such that if you are not in the circle, you cannot benefit from the system. And if you are in the system, you are automatically corrupt. No new body can be allowed to enter the system.

Which I maintain that there are some sane persons that would not want to stand their hands in order to play the dirty game of politics. Starting off afresh with like minds will still need you to fight against the cartel which has already been established and have been deceiving the society for so many years. They can easily turn the people against you.

It takes more than one mind to achieve what you are saying. So people who may not be able to risk it all will simply exempt themselves from politics and allow it to remain in the hands of the ugly politicians.
