781  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's next for Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2020, 03:17:48 PM
I have some regrets not buying Bitcoin during its dumped moment, only if I know this moment will happen again. Well, I hope that it will continue to rise until we reach the peak again and I'm probably waiting at the bottom level and I will buy more for sure and hold until Bitcoin rise again. The trend is not over yet and there's still a huge volume in the market, so I believe bitcoin will end this year with a bang!

the problem with wanting to wait for a dip right after there was a major dip is that the chances of seeing another one be repeated is almost zero. that is why they say luck only knocks at your door once.
with the way price is rising, the lows are going to keep going up and every dip will have a higher low while each try weakens the $20k resistance. soon you'll see it is too late to buy below $20k.
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [Warning] Ripple's Incentive plan, support program complex phishing website. on: December 01, 2020, 02:54:07 PM
Taking into account that Ripple is a fake project for me, a phishing website is just redundant.

it is not fake, it is just centralized garbage.
these days they have been advertising it all over the internet so that they can pump their shitcoin more before they fork it and double their bags of XRP and increase their wealth by newbie-scamming. so obviously other types of scams like this one in OP come out to take advantage of the large number of newbies.
783  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dan lok and other Gurus what do you think on them? on: December 01, 2020, 02:29:58 PM
all i know is that in the past 4 years that i have been on this forum and bitcoin world i have heard so many people tell me that this guy and that guy are "gurus" and "experts" and whenever i read what they say it always sounds like the dumbest thing the dumbest person on the planet can say. in fact the number of "experts" i have seen in this space is more than i have ever seen in my entire life, and that is experts with sarcastic quotes since they are all scammers.
784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China is preparing to create a BTC reserve treasury on: December 01, 2020, 02:13:54 PM
you should try a lot harder than this if you want to create FUD and you should also avoid using China because at this point it is very old news and whenever people hear the name China they already know that the news is going to be complete lies. and you didn't even bother making the lie believable Cheesy
785  Economy / Speculation / Re: Explained - The Road to $100k Is Underway on: December 01, 2020, 02:03:10 PM
taking a stroll down the memory lane we don't even have to go that far back, people were saying $5k is not even possible by the end of the year just because price was stuck at $3k at that point.

it seems to be in the nature of some people to deny the inevitable bitcoin price rise as seen by some comments around this forum this day and in this topic.
even more interesting is when all these $100k $500k and $1 million predictions start coming out now that the price is rising whereas the rest of us have been saying the same thing when price was $3k Wink
786  Other / Off-topic / Re: Income from Bitcoin investment on: November 30, 2020, 03:06:18 PM
you can't both hold and make profit. it would be like asking how you can make profit by keeping your money under your mattress.
to make profit on the money you own you have to invest that money in a business. for example you can start a new business with the bitcoins that you have and if you are not capable of doing that or don't have enough then you should find legitimate businesses that accept investors. but this can be very hard since any legitimate business won't want small investors with little money and finding a successful and non-scam one is very hard. an example would be a popular bitcoin exchange like Coinbase (although it doesn't accept investors but is a good example). another example of scam businesses are the cloud miners that ask for little amounts to be able to scam most number of people.

now it is up to you to search for that business.
787  Economy / Speculation / Re: TO THE MOON! on: November 30, 2020, 02:41:20 PM
when the initial correction after reaching nearly $20k occurred a lot of profit was in the hands of traders that is now going back into bitcoin pushing the price up. and as the price goes up a lot of new investors show up with a lot more money.
this is all just the start...

Want to retire? Buy a single Bitcoin today.  Grin
you can't retire with only $1 million.

This year will be more like $70k to max $100k IMO.
i don't think we can see such a huge bubble in only 1 month. we are just starting the slow rise to break the previous ATH. at least 6 months is needed after that for the big rises to start then we can expect a bubble.
but by that time the bubble won't be at $100k, it can be at much higher at $400k this time.

keep in mind that last time price went nearly 20x higher than the previous ATH which is 20x $20000 = $400k
788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: C# - Encrypting messages with ECDSA? on: November 30, 2020, 02:08:32 PM
Although I didn't use it, NBitcoin seems to actually be able to sign/verify message.

the way i understand it is that signing/verifying messages is different from encrypting/decrypting messages.
in the first one you publish the message itself plus the public key (or the address) that the signing was from. and the purpose is to prove you own the private key to that address or public key.
in the second one (encrypting) you only publish the encrypted message and nothing else. and only the receiver who owns the private key can decrypt the message and see what it says.
789  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Climbs Above $19,000 – Heading to New All-Time High? on: November 30, 2020, 02:04:04 PM
only for a moment and it goes down again, obviously it hurts a lot,
but hopefully this time the Bitcoin price can break another $ 19k and be ready to go to $ 20k,
hopefully before Christmas arrives!.

if you look at the charts you can see that it is an actual uptrend, not just some jump that can't last long. as a result the price can have small retracements each time it goes up. for example from $18500 to $19100 then come back to $18900 before it goes back up again. as we can see right now it is back to $19250+ and is rising.
i think it is possible to see $20k in the next following days but it may not last.
790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I regret to scrutinize bitcoin! on: November 30, 2020, 01:44:15 PM
Could Bitcoin disrupt the modern economy (Point 3)?  In theory, it can.

The modern economy is based on interest rates.  Fiat money is an inflationary asset.  Bitcoin is a deflationary asset.  Bitcoin is a virus for the global financial system.  He is destructive to her.  People prefer good money to bad money (paper money is bad money, bitcoin is good money).  Therefore, national governments strive to control Bitcoin.

What will happen next?  Various options are possible.  I think the world financial system will be reformed.

Central banks will issue their own currency (CBDC).  CBDC does not imply the use of deposits.  Banks and loans at interest rates will also be abolished.

that is not disruption though, it is more like a correction. as you said yourself the financial systems could be "reformed" as the result of bitcoin's existence. that doesn't stop there either, there is a lot of corruption going on in the banking system and all these payment processors that will be eliminated as their powers diminish thanks to bitcoin and the fact that people in countries with a corrupt banking system will migrate to bitcoin.
791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This source reports that Chinese govt has sold bitcoins from Plustoken scam on: November 30, 2020, 01:30:25 PM
it is funny how any news that has China in it gets exaggerated A LOT and eventually turns into FUD. there are a lot of bitcoins being confiscated from a lot of scammers all around the world at all times. US government keeps confiscating and selling these coins every now and then through their auctions but you'll never hear this 1% nonsense or anyone calling it "dump on the market"!
even funnier thing is that nobody cares about such news anymore because the FUD is see through right now.
792  Economy / Economics / Re: JP Morgan takes a different stand than Wall Street - US Q1 GDP will decline. on: November 26, 2020, 06:18:20 PM
it has always been very hard to predict US economy since it is too controlled by the corrupt banking system and the wealthy elite. we know all these predictions are mostly political where one group doesn't like the winning president they keep spreading negativity. we also know that when there is FUD there is always some truth hidden inside of it to make it believable too.
in this case the COVID effects on the economy has been real and very severe. we also have an enormous amount of money that was printed and with the inflation it will bring, there will be a lot of lay offs by companies big and small alike and the rate of unemployment will increase even further resulting in a decreased GDP.
793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats causing the re rise of BTC? on: November 26, 2020, 05:59:07 PM
If you're out of the loop: The United States federal reserve has been printing the US Dollar like there's no tomorrow, effectively harming the value of the USD in the long term. This makes bitcoin useful in this case due to it's steady supply distribution, and due to the fact no bitcoin can be minted after 21 million.

this is one of and possibly the smallest reasons for the rise mainly because bitcoin is not JUST rising against USD but it is rising against all fiat currencies and even though the inflation exists all around the world but USD specific inflation is going to be bigger. and i said "going to" because it has not yet happened. sure there are people who are foreseeing it and are dumping their fiat for bitcoin but such people don't go through the traditional channels and won't affect the price.

the real rise due to USD tanking will come in the near future. possibly mid 2021 when the effects of crazy money printing policy starts showing itself all over the country and price of everything shoots up from your rent to groceries and finally bitcoin.
794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fraud of the Century? on: November 26, 2020, 05:44:52 PM
why should future of bitcoin even be affected when someone that doesn't even have any remote link to bitcoin lies and deceives people?

he tried and failed. now he is old news. it doesn't matter how many times someone revives this see through scam, nobody cares about him or his claims of being Satoshi Nakamoto anymore. let the idiots scream until they are blue in the face Cheesy
795  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin on high demand Africa nigeria and Malaysia on: November 26, 2020, 04:47:00 PM
simply because bitcoin is a currency but tether (USDT) is not.

USDT is a tool created only for traders to be able to secure their altcoin trading profits whenever the altcoin market is having a bloodbath. which is a pretty common thing in that market.
for everyone else it is a centralized altcoin that is very risky to own. the government has already shut down many centralized companies like this.
796  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good hot wallet recommendation on: November 26, 2020, 04:30:30 PM
it depends on what platform you want. for both desktop (any operating system) and mobile (only Android) i suggest using Electrum (it doesn't have ios). it is light (SPV) and very user friendly. it is also open source and secure.
avoid all types ofweb wallets and custodial wallets that you don't have any control over the keys.
there is also bitcoin.org page that can help you choose a wallet: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
makre sure to verify the signature of any wallet you download before installing them.
797  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: estimate tx fee in script on: November 26, 2020, 03:14:29 PM
The way the mempool works, is that there will always be unlucky transactions tailed at the end. Even if someone manages to make the most sophisticated fee estimator, it's still a queue at the end of the day.
it is not a "queue" but a "pool". a queue is for when objects enter the group they keep their order and the first one in is the first one out (FIFO). a pool however has no order.

Quote
You could have all the transactions using "smart" fees but some will still end up waiting for several hours at the back, or overpaying at the front, because the others had just a little smarter fees than the rest. It's a never-ending arms race against the network.
i wouldn't call overpaying fees "smarter". paying the exact amount needed to have high priority is "smart".
as for the arms race, you are correct but those over-paying or under-paying are small percentage and rarely affect anything.
798  Economy / Speculation / Re: The great reset scenario followed by alt flip on: November 24, 2020, 05:13:04 PM
the increased number of idiotic FUD has always been expected. this is not the first time that the same type of people start regretting their decisions about either not buying bitcoin or buying some other shitcoin which is falling right now. then they come online and fill the internet with their wishes like OP here thinking if they wish it hard enough it should come true Wink
basically every time there is a price rise they come out.
799  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unpopular Opinions About Bitcoin on: November 24, 2020, 04:32:07 PM
Quote
Derek Sorensen claims that bitcoin will never become the world's #1 currency!?

the title and the arguments are mostly unrelated in my opinion. bitcoin is already a world currency and it has been used by millions of people as payment. but even if bitcoin could handle 8 billion transactions per second (more than number of people on the planet) it still won't be "world's #1 currency" because that title is a more of a political one. for example when USD is used in global trades it is not because it is a good, strong or convenient currency. it is all political and is decided by the governments. meanwhile bitcoin is more of a people's currency not the governments.
800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To be Fair I think bitcoin will go highest highs and then will collapse on: November 24, 2020, 04:20:43 PM
you are correct. back in 2017 price went from start of $150 to $20,000 then collapsed to $3200 then back to $20000 again.

in 2021 we will have the same thing too. the price will go from the start of $3200 to $500,000 then collapses to $100,000 then recovers to $500k again.

But there is solution: xrp is solution Low fees and Fast transactions.
you can keep dreaming that this centralized shitcoin that has nothing to offer except a hyped up fork pump could even be considered by anyone for payment let alone thrive Cheesy
