7881  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long before the price tanks sharply because Silk Road is down? on: November 13, 2012, 08:29:09 PM
I predict that the price of my bitcoins will be unaffected by SR.

Thank you World! (Not the whole world, just the user "World".)
7883  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Got friends in Berlin? Remote invite them on friday for dinner and drinks! on: November 12, 2012, 04:46:37 PM
Any way we can see some pics? I am curious to see what it looks like.
P.S. I will likely be in Berlin this summer and pay you a visit.

Well written new peer!
7885  Other / Off-topic / What did you buy on bitcoin Friday? on: November 10, 2012, 02:19:09 PM
Just curious. I bought my first pair of llama wool socks.  Grin
7886  Economy / Lending / Re: 10 BTC for 15 BTC in return on: November 09, 2012, 07:59:32 PM
So you want a loan to be used on an investment that is mathematically likely to be lost? I dunno man.
7887  Other / Off-topic / Re: North Corea with it's own 'internet' on: November 09, 2012, 07:51:58 PM
What's this about North Coffee brewing it's own internet?
7888  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Humble Bundle (For android) #4 & bitcoin on: November 09, 2012, 04:34:03 PM
Why do people and companies often decide to wait for permission from and authority to change? A brief examination of history shows that changes come when you drag the authorities kicking and screaming to the changes we make. This is how we gained most of our civil rights, for example.
7889  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we genetically programmed for Bitcoin economics? on: November 09, 2012, 03:44:10 PM
I don't think the time frame for our economic reality has been long enough. I would expect at least a few thousand years to note a genetic divergence.
But I do think there is evidence for many animals to have a sense of "fairness" that is genetic. Interesting topic OP.
7890  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin major fail - doesn't allow credit creation (aka deflationary currency) on: November 09, 2012, 03:39:04 PM
As stated before, if there were a market for such instruments they could be done with bitcoin. If you wanted you could even do exotic things like credit default swaps. But who would want such crap.?

That's god-awful. This makes computer code look like computer code looks for most people.

Take up a profitable hobby/interest?

It might be fun and budget enhancing to learn how to operate a crane or get licensed to do something few people do. I have thought that if I had a billion $ (or BTC) I would go the firefighter academy then become a Mayan history expert then learn Chinese, etc. Occasionally I might make a buck pursuing my interests.

I also can no longer say my opinion about jews, faggots and niggers without fear of being thrown into jail. I want to live in clean society without fags, niggers and foreigners.
Perhaps you would have been safer in 1937 Germany. I stand corrected.

I see You are under MDMA right now!

In reality these are the safest times in all of human history
Not really. The safest times was when You can carry firearm with you and kill anyone who attacks you without being afraid from consequences.

Never before could you expect to live a long life free of war and with health care better than any king of 100 years ago.
In 1937 You also could expect to live a happy and peaceful life in Germany or France. The health care is true thanks to medical advances.

Quote
You have rights almost unheard of in history. Today I could decide to live as a woman and everyone would pretend along with me.
This is total idiotism! Faggot can pretend to be a women but everyone is forced to approve this perversion or be persecuted by police. I have no right to live in society where the sick and pervert is not manifesting his "lifestyle". In same time it is crime to have sex with 16 year old girls.
I don't understand how the safest times are those when you have to arm yourself and can be killed with impunity?

By 1937 most thinkers understood that war with Germany was coming. The Europeans who did not die in WW1 were very fearful, and correctly so.

And yes, you may not persecute someone who is gay. How does that make you less safe?

no, I'm not on MDMA. Why, you got some! Grin
7895  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How the GOP could save the USA. on: November 08, 2012, 05:29:44 PM
I think they are going to stick with their current strategy of capturing the future by attacking women, gays and brown people.  Grin

Time to wander off to the elephant graveyard, I think...
lol, that's brutal.
A funny side note: In Florida the Romney campaign was encouraging early voting because their base there is so old that they were concerned about how many would die before election day.

I do have friends in Berlin and I definitely will stop by next time I'm there.  Wink

It seems like every year I hear more about the terrible plight we all face. People talk about rising taxes, and how the US is broken. I hear a lot about social injustice and how warlike we have become. What I find curious about all this are the facts that contradict these ideas.

In reality these are the safest times in all of human history. Never before could you expect to live a long life free of war and with health care better than any king of 100 years ago. You have rights almost unheard of in history. Today I could decide to live as a woman and everyone would pretend along with me. And you would not learn this by talking to voters, but US taxes have been going down for thirty years and are at historic lows.
It's a pity that we don't recognize our good fortune. I'm as guilty as anyone of pointing out the problems we have, or the far less certain future. The truth is we are luckier than any other generation that has come before.

That's my happy thought for the day.

Thanks Yankee. Perhaps I will offer a 1000BTC to a SR hitman and put an end to his efforts.  Grin
