81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: February 12, 2021, 11:25:19 PM
I stopped using my bitcoin to gamble because of the price movement. It is fine when we reached $20K, to be honest, I am not thinking much about it but when we surpassed the price mark at $30K, that is when I stopped. I lost $1K if we will be using the value of bitcoin today, although it is not that high, it is a very expensive loss to me.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does knowing your sport and teams really make you better at betting on them? on: February 12, 2021, 10:57:16 PM
It is important that you have personal knowledge on sports that you are betting on. Basic knowledge is good however diving deep to stats is better. In that way you are increasing your chance to win in every bet and will also boost your confidence knowing that you knew a lot about the from basic to advance informations about any game.

If you are following the game of each team and seeing each player play, you don't need to always dive that deep. You can analyze the way they play against their opponent especially if you are following a team. That is why it is advisable to follow a team so you will be familiar with how they play and their opponent, that would boost your chance for a profit.

Still, analysis is really important that is why we can't just remove it if you really want to earn some ou of betting.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If BTC were to permanently freeze at one price , would you buy ? on: February 12, 2021, 10:51:53 PM
A lot of people hate the idea of volatility but that is the main reason why there are a lot of people in this community, a lot of investors risking their money in crypto currencies because it is volatile. If the price froze, there will be a lot of people that would abandon this ship. Most of us still, depends on the volatility of bitcoin.

I don't know how will we be using it without volatility, it will be better to hold fiat than bitcoin is that is the case.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Heroes of Bitcoin - A thanks to the many good people. on: February 12, 2021, 10:10:13 PM
I will never forget all of these people except for Roger Ver which I almost forgot. Been watching his videos in the past, giving bitcoin to people, and as far as I know, he also went to Japan giving BTC? Either way, I agree that Elon Musk is not included in this list. Yes, he did that tweet but that doesn't mean that he is already a "hero" of bitcoin.

What about the Winklevoss twins? They pushed bitcoin ETF in the past, while it was not approved, they are still supporting bitcoin. They should be one of these people and not Elon Musk.
85  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Cryptocurrencies Really Money? on: February 12, 2021, 10:01:22 PM
in my opinion since both of them can be converted into your countries currency (at least in my country) they should be considered real money .
though they both have differences like cryptocurrencies can be used as asset meanwhile central bank digital currencies cannot be used as an asset due to their fixed values.

But there are people that would hold fiat rather than crypto currencies. They would usually deposit a huge amount of money in banks and let it sit in that bank for a while. As time goes, they will be getting interest which is like holding bitcoin, it is just that bitcoin is better.

That is the reason why I really consider crypto currencies as money, as they said, as long as it has a store of value, it is money.
86  Economy / Speculation / Re: Owning One BTC In 2035 Will Make You A Millionaire on: February 12, 2021, 02:28:44 PM
Not looking forward to that year as we should just focus on the movements we have now. Considering how volatile our market is, we don't know the height that the price reaches at that long time. Within a year we saw the price from $4K to another ATH, what's more in that year where adoption is all over the world.

We will be talking about millions and millions of dollars as the value of bitcoin. Still, for now, we should be wary of the sudden movements. The correction is still at the corner and we should take that as an opportunity as we might not see the price falls down after that.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 12, 2021, 02:23:56 PM
Hey guys, did you see the last game between Golden State Warriors and Oorlando Magic? what the hell.... Stephen curry got x10 3 point basket lol
Steph deserves to win MVP this year despite his team’s seeding, what a wonderful player! Nice to see he is on fire, lovely game!

I just hope Klay could play again with Steph. He's been present at some of the team's games but he can't get on the court because he's still in his rehab. It is just sad to see him as a reporter and how he's been applauding his teammates in that seat.

We all know Steph, he will keep on firing those threes until his brother comes back in the court with the team. I am also hyped when he comes back, that would be really amazing. GSW would start another rain of threes, they are even doing it without Klay, just imagine Klay being there with Steph.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does knowing your sport and teams really make you better at betting on them? on: February 12, 2021, 01:47:51 PM
...
So what will make us win? we must Know our team and also " The Opponents" this means we must be an expert in the whole process from our team and every team that they will be facing each time.

That is another thing that gamblers or bettors should also look at, how would the other team perform. I don't think we don't need to be that kind of expert to win most of our bets, there are a lot of angles we could into and if you are a fan of the sport, you have a huge advantage. But, that also falls to what you are saying.

Every team has different performance every game and that is the same with other player that could snowball the games they are playing.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does knowing your sport and teams really make you better at betting on them? on: February 12, 2021, 12:05:36 AM
The higher knowledge you have on that sport, the higher chance you will be getting on winning your bets. It is been the usual setup with sports betting. Analysis on the team comp and also considering the history they are having at the moment is really helpful. Been doing some bets on esports and that knowledge is really paying off.

There are some of those times that you also lost with an upset but still, that happens rarely.
90  Economy / Economics / Re: Great reset is done on: February 11, 2021, 11:59:57 PM
Done and forgotten? I hope it is that easy! We are not even done with the pandemic right now. The virus is still in every countries and case are still increasing every single day! The vaccine is said to be unreliable and it is still dangerous to some as it killed some people in the process.

This year is the worst, it won't be forgotten even with the price surge in the market.
91  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Altcoin's loss become Bitcoin's gain? on: February 11, 2021, 11:14:53 PM
We've been seeing the green price of bitcoin even before these altcoins pumped. They started their run as someone tweeted a certain altcoin, now the price plummeted so bad, it is a great profit for those who sold earlier though. We can't say that it is a gain of bitcoin, we can't say that it is the loss of altcoins also since the market always behaves like that.

If you ask me, bitcoin is having a great movement because it is in a bull run. The hyped stopped but some say it is still the altcoin season.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we get another golden oppurtunity to buy? on: February 11, 2021, 11:11:13 PM
The price will always go down, we never know when but for sure, it will go down. I am not saying that in a negative way, I am saying it because it's been like that for the past years. With the price increasing so fast, for sure, there will be a time that it will rest and make an opportunity for new investors although I don't think it will be reaching under $20K.

It is true that the price falls after great price leaps but with new investors and adoptions, for sure it would not be the same low as the past so watch out for that.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 10 years ago, when bitcoin was about to reach $1... on: February 11, 2021, 10:21:47 PM
I thought the word "Parity" is made-up. Since the Covid, there are a lot of investors of bitcoin but we can't call it a quarantine party or a pandemic party since that is just a negative word added by a positive word at the end. How about the "Ascent" Party? "Leap" Party? I don't know, maybe the "C-K" party? C as in the Roman Numeral?  Grin
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 11, 2021, 10:11:26 PM
... and 76ers which might take that from them. What can you say about this? Danny Green might three-peat.

Philadelphia 76ers always come up short during playoffs run no matter how impressive their season standing is and their key starters are doing well all-around within a season. Even with their current record and Embiid producing big numbers, I'm still in doubt that they can breach the ECF. Who knows though.

They really fell short in the playoffs. The last season they got straight Ls against Boston Celtics. The last time they reached the finals is in 2001 against the LA Lakers too as far as I know, but at that time they lost. After that, they are falling short and just reaching opening matches and semis. Right now, they have a good line-up, it is not just Embiid, then there's Green and Howard.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: February 11, 2021, 02:51:12 PM

and moving on I guess the Brooklyn Nets is a surprising team indeed Kyrie Irving is showing his prowess in making assist and coördination with his teammates, I am thinking that this team will make a change in the upcoming seasons to come.

With that roster, I really think they already made history as one of the best offensive teams and the worst defensive team in the league. For sure they will hit the playoffs but I don't think they will win the ECF. History is said to be repeating itself as LA Lakers being the defending champion and 76ers which might take that from them. What can you say about this? Danny Green might three-peat.

76ers are probably their biggest match up in the east, but it's too early, what if these 3 superstar in the Nets will blend perfectly, I think it will be hard for them to stop. Embiid is no doubt giving everything this season, we can see on his stats but 76ers hasn't prove anything yet in the playoffs, so I have a little double, regular season and playoffs are different and the big 3 of nets have a lot of playoff experience, 2 of them has become a champion.

I checked their stats this regular season and I am seeing something great from it. Kyrie's having an average of 27.9 per game 5.9 assists, while James Harden, having 23.3 ppg, and 11.3 APG. Kevin Durant is having 29.5 ppg, 5.2 APG, considering the fact that he's missing a lot of games because of contact tracing. Is it me or it is just that James Harden is making more plays than their PG which is Kyrie or they are having that switch from making plays to making their shots.

97  Economy / Speculation / Re: Apple is buying Bitcoin on: February 11, 2021, 12:59:53 PM
Well, it is not about Apple buying bitcoin but a "what if" scenario if the said company buys or add to their stocks crypto currencies. With a lot of companies and corporations trying to get their hands before the huge pump, I guess they will consider it and will start another run to the moon, maybe $100K being the moon this time.
98  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal cryptocurrency trading volume beyond expectations on: February 11, 2021, 12:08:48 PM
It is true that Paypal might be bringing a lot of investors into the market but people should realize that Paypal owns the bitcoin they are "buying". As they've said, there is no decentralization in Paypal, and I think we can say that they might try to overrun the market with their volumes to manipulate the people and the market as well.

It is the same case as holding your coins in an exchange. A lot of people do hold their cryptocurrency in various exchange wallets (where they don't have access to the private keys). Then why we should single out PayPal? After all, PayPal has been in operation for more than two decades and they are trusted all around the world. I would say that the risk of PayPal running away with your money is much lower than the risk with some of the cryptocurrency exchanges (especially those small-sized and medium-sized ones).

Well, I am not leaving exchanges in this, it is just that most of the people that ask me about Paypal accepting Bitcoin seems a big of a deal to me and i is very annoying since they thought that since Paypal accepts buying bitcoin means it is all because of that platform. They are just new in the market and they don't have any idea about not having the private key just means that is not their bitcoin.
99  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Hits Record $48.2K on: February 10, 2021, 11:31:18 AM
Been expecting this price and I am sure that it will not be the last time that we will be seeing another ATH. This year might be full of new ATHs with a lot of new active investors and traders. Higher demand because of new adoptions. I will not be so suepirsed if we reach a 6 digit price this year.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I messed up and feel terrible about it on: February 09, 2021, 12:31:25 PM
We all went there, we made mistakes and I think you should just accept what happened. You wish you could turn back time but you can't, better accept it and do something you can do now as long as the price is still increasing. The fact that you sold it means that you already have a profit, right? You still had a profit, that is just fine.
