Is that the main privacy concern, or is there more to it than someone having members' mailing addresses?

I'm probably being an ignorant fool with respect to privacy, because I'd be interested in forum merch--though whether I'd buy something would heavily depend on what it is.  I wouldn't buy a t-shirt or any kind of clothing, but something like a coin, a deck of cards, postcards, and things like that I'd buy in a heartbeat (if the price is right, of course).

And not for nothing, but I'm really hoping someone creates a commemorative coin for bitcointalk's 15th or 20th anniversary.  I wish I could help make that happen, but I've got nothing to offer.  But OP, I'd be willing to buy something as long as that something is of good quality and something I can keep as a forum collectible. Minerjones made those BTC pennies back when Zepher died in 2019, and though I only knew him by reputation they mean something to me because I see them as part of bitcointalk's history.

Actually the Zepher tribute coins were made by @Bitcoinpenny, but I don't recall who else may have been involved at the time. I understand what you mean though, I feel proud and sad at the same time, as I knew Z in real life, and he was like a brother whom I still miss every day.   Cry

I like my pumpkin in curry. Sweet and spicy. Unfortunately I have not seen a whole pumpkin for ages. All are half cut or quarter 🤣

Pumpkin pies also rock... I even love roasting the seeds! Grin

Google says:

Can you put in a bug report on their github or contact a dev of the wallet software you are using? 🤷‍♂️

I have 2 Safepal S1 hardware wallets. They are bit challenging to use, but they WILL hold all kinds of diff coins securely.

@owlcatz

Please note: Post#7 was not a general question. It was a question about the DEX Bisq.

My apologies I see that now!  Tongue
810  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: change real btc against real Monero on a DEX: Is this (technically) possible? on: October 13, 2022, 05:36:51 PM
Thank you.

(I do not need Monero. This was only an example.)
What happens, when I change btc into USD fiat. Where does the Fiat go?
Do I have to give the nomber of my bank account first, before I make the swap?
Does then the other person directly send his fiat to my bank account?

Typically, you must use an Exchange - Like Coinbase for example, or Kraken, Bitstamp - It depends on your location really.

You send them the/your BTC, exchange it for FIAT, then you can withdraw the FIAT to your Bank account number, so never give your account number to anybody but a trusted exchange for your country.  Roll Eyes

I took his survey on a throw-away VM, and I had no issues. Seems to be a standard survey-taking site, IMO. Tongue

This sets off alarm bells for me if Microsoul was sending out sticker replacements. Is there a link to that please? I'd like to know if those labels were clearly marked as 'DIY' and that it is not possible to confuse them with the stickers concealing Gravitate-generated private keys.

I think it kind of started here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2055992.0

& here's where Matthew went bonkers and off the deep end before disappearing.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2136007.msg21360387#msg21360387

It's worth noting - I actually met Matthew/Gravitate at Coinfest UK 2018 - Once introduced to him as being "owlcatz", He then asked me if I was going to bash him in the head with my pint of beer LOL... (Half-seriously even)! Cheesy

He was also sort of "in disguise", meaning he was using a walker and pretending to be ill, he also looked quite different than the pics floating around of him on the internet - Anyways, He was there promoting some other scam coin I forgot the name of, presenting it under the just the billed name "Matthew", (most others there were using full names ofc) Roll Eyes and we happened to figure it out it was him once we got there... I was with Lesbian Cow, Zepher and I Think BG4 at the time, so they can also attest to this funny interaction... I wish I had recorded it now it was fuckin hilarious... Cheesy

The histories of some of these coin makers is quite surprising once you dig deeper... Even CI had scam accusations against him after being caught using an alt to bid/win his own auctions... Huh

Edit - I do trust CI's coins for the most part, I don't think Pedro is a scammer, people know his full name etc etc.. And also no issues with his coins whatsoever, so I think he just learned a tough lesson in the long run... IDK... Huh

Edit 2 - I had completely forgot about this scam rating I left Gravitate ... Jesus... What a nut-job...  https://archive.ph/LUz5E
816  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTT] Lelalanas on: October 08, 2022, 02:22:49 PM
Hold up here... So you are all saying the Buyer-Funded coins have NO "BF" laser mark? Huh

Also, the coin address and serials for mine are all on the actual rims of the coins, not the holos, but I guess that's probably what sweeteye meant above. Wink

Thanks!
817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there something I don't get about USD possible losing it's value? on: October 06, 2022, 12:41:24 AM
USD will lose its value in the coming months? where did you see the news about this? it would be better if you attach a link that refers to the news you read for validation purposes. I don't think you need to worry about USD. USD is the strongest currency at the moment.

Possibly, nobody knows... Look here:

https://thehill.com/policy/3673894-un-warns-of-a-global-recession-as-countries-race-to-lower-inflation/

Again, go read:

https://principlestudies.org/reviews/creature-from-jekyll-island/

And you will understand what is going on now... but ofc, nobody knows the future. Wink
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there something I don't get about USD possible losing it's value? on: October 06, 2022, 12:13:52 AM
Ok...

So... Here you can see just how much $USD was printed from basically thin air when covid began.

Quote from Google:  "M1 is the money supply that is composed of currency, demand deposits, other liquid deposits—which includes savings deposits"

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/M1SL

As you can quite clearly see, the printing started in 2/2020. It continued until ~2/2022 ... Now.. Go read this book, you can find it on the internet for free I imagine if you look hard enough.

THEN... You will start to understand what a SCAM the FED is and what/why this is all happening...

819  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Stacks Bowers Again - Summer auction on: October 05, 2022, 11:36:05 PM
This may not be so good...  It states the Microsouls are "loaded".  But no one knows this for sure, right.  Can anyone chime in who knows if it was just a certain year(s) of Microsouls that may or may not be funded (with that whole issue he had), or is it all of them that we just don't know for sure if fund will be there or not?

The last thing we need at an auction house is a coin that says it's funded but isn't, a fake, or some coin's keys can't be seen since they wore down or whatever..

Well they look like his first series, and I'm pretty sure those were ok, but not 100%.  Roll Eyes

Also,... I don't think @Elianite would put his rep on the line and let them auction them if he wasn't sure as I'm positive he's seen the threads where Matthew went nutso and lost his shit, then vanished.... Huh

Maybe ping him , I know he's active here... ? 🤷‍♂️
820  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- ***NEW UPDATES*** on: October 05, 2022, 02:54:04 PM
Mikhail1, stop trolling the victims of this scam. Your account has been flagged as accomplice to the scam. You are supporting a scammer, and you are now the only known accomplice.I have no "alts" on this site, you only harmed a random stranger for trying to support me when I warned the other victims, 6 years ago, because you are an insane troll and an accomplice to this scam. I'm recommending that everyone who has lost funds contact the FBI and let them know about your claim, and ALSO mention Michail1 and voltagegoat.com as likely accomplices.

Also stop lying about your location.

whois voltagegoat.com:

Admin City: Reykjavik
Admin State/Province: Capital Region

If you file a police report in your home city, they will send it to California and you'll have to deal with some random detective there, who will then just refer you to also file a report to the FBI. They haven't filed an arrest warrant for Tim Fillmore, yet (as far as I know), probably because my claim was not for "grand theft", back in 2016, but I think that if other victims come forward now, it's likely they will. What Tim did was "interstate" fraud, so it's probably a federal crime anyhow.

You clearly know nothing about domain registrations at all ....

Let me school you a bit...

whois voltagegoat.com:

Domain:voltagegoat.com
Registrar:NameCheap, Inc.

so the domain is registered at Namecheap, no big deal, I have a few there too...

Now, the reference to the service in Reykjavik is this:

Privacy service provided by Withheld for Privacy ehf
Street:Kalkofnsvegur 2
City:Reykjavik
State:Capital Region
Postal Code:101
Country:IS
Phone:+354.4212434

That's called a DOMAIN PRIVACY service... You pay namecheap a bit extra for that... Why???  ... So wackos like you cannot come after people or get their phone numbers.... Grin
