I went through all the steps and finally when I did make -f makefile.mingw I got this: In file included from util.cpp:5:0: headers.h:62:29: fatal error: boost/foreach.hpp: No such file or directory compilation terminated. make: *** [obj/util.o] Error 1
I tried copying the boost folder to the bitcoin src directory but got the same error... I don't know where I need to move it to in order for it to be found. The makefile is looking for the boost folder at C:\boost-1.43.0-mgw . It's possible that there is a typo or something. Wow you're right thanks, I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. I just extracted and added -mgw to the dir name without realising it's called boost_1_43_0-mgw.

Added a pull request for "-purgetx" option.
Sorry I still don't know what a 'pull request' is although I've seen the term floating around this forum. Is this -purgetx likely to end up in the official client any time soon or should I find it elsewhere? I'm in the process right now of learning a little more linux; just downloaded ubuntu livecd.

I'm really sorry... I would have put a catch all phrase in earlier, however I had forgotten about it.
However 200 BTC is like 10x the market price for such a site.
If I wanted to get it done I could 'pay' almost any of the web-developers for hire 20 BTC and get it done... and own the result.
I don't' think anyone can claim that I don't put lots of money into community projects. However I just cannot afford the opportunity cost of paying out this pledge. (the full 200 BTC)
Don't worry, I wouldn't pay out 200 BTC for this pledge either. My main point is that people should either: a) Think solely in terms of BTC without regard for the exchange rates, OR b) Include provisions for exchange rates in any pledges, or at least attach a deadline. Lesson learnt I'm sure I've learnt from it anyway; Will think about this next time I put up a bounty or post in the market section.

holy shit! 200 BTC is lots of money now... will restructure this prize!
200BTC is worth the same in BTC as it was back then. I think changing the bounty is quite unfair. I agree. If the bounty was originally 200 BTC, then surely that meant the OP had 200 BTC physically available, no? (Already earned or bought at a low price?) Perhaps people should pledge "X USD worth of Bitcoins" if they want the pledge to reflect USD value for example.

I believe it very difficult for btc to reach 20$ by the end of the year- My feeling is that it will be much much sooner or never-
My last prediction was for 10$ before July a while back- solely based on the premise that I figured most polls were wrong and the majority voted for after July-
It's about to tip big time over the next months- my humble opinion of course-
Cautiously buying a few for 8.69 today... My last (small) purchase was at 7.05.

Are these purely vector-based? If so, could you render that first one in 2560x1600?

The "NEW" button next to each title is really handy, but I think that button should also be at the top of each thread somewhere.
If you accidentally click the title of a thread instead of the new button, there's no way to then jump to the new posts with first clicking the back button, then hitting the new button.

This was kind of handy, but now it's a drag. I'm on a slow connection and I just had to click post 3 (3!) times. I didn't see a way to turn it off, do we really need it?
You can turn it on or off in your individual settings under your profile area... although I don't remember exactly where, but I know it's in the options.Edit: Under Look and Layout Preferences, check Don't warn on new replies made while posting.

I will probably never have 0.1% of the money supply. Feels bad. What % of the USD supply do you have?

So Australia has no export or import, no trading with foreign nations at all? Are they manufacturing flat sceen TVs on their own? What kind of car companies do they have?
Just letting you know I have read your post and have no intention of responding further. http://xkcd.com/386/

April 2010 slashdot article.
I did a search and the earliest I could find on there was July 2010. Do you have a link?

Hi Chris, thanks for the interest. I'll go read up a little on MinGW.

The sendmany() doesn't look that hard:
It doesn't, does it? But I tried typing it in two or three different ways and got an error each time. What tripped me up doing it in php was that I had to put (float) just before the send amount. $bitcoin->sendfrom($account,$addr,(float)$amount); Haven't tried sendmany yet.

I do not have an investment from the past, not even an emotional one. What I do have, is a strategy to try and win back — in the present — an amount equal to my losses, and then some.
If someone uses the term 'win back', that indicates to me that they have an emotional investment in it. If someone is simply playing to win money in the *present* with no emotional attachment, total losses from the past should be completely irrelevant. I've found that doesn't reflect reality however as almost everyone who plays 7 rounds will likely have the first 6 on their mind as they play the 7th.

After wading through countless web pages and forum posts I have come to the conclusion that I still suck at compiling, so I'd like to pay someone for personalised tuition via skype (or similar).
Successful applicant should:
1. Recommend and help me set up an IDE and compiler for Windows XP sp3 2. Help me build a working "hello world" application (GUI, not console). 3. Walk me through steps required to build the standard bitcoin client from source (0.3.22+) 4. Help me personalize the code and build a modified exe.
I imagine this will require at least 10+ hours to do properly, as I'm sure to have many questions.
I can work around your time zone, but want someone who is available for at least a few hours each day on Skype or similar for real-time chat, and possibly 'screen share'.
Applicant should have already successfully compiled win32 bitcoin themselves.
I've worked with many different languages in the past but for the purpose of the tutorial, you can assume I'm a newbie.
Thanks.

Have I overlooked something?
You've over-looked the fact that past results do not change the probabilities on the next turn. So if you're betting 590.49 BTC on a single coin toss, don't be fooled into thinking that's any different to someone who just came along and put 590.49 BTC down on their FIRST turn. The only difference is that you have an 'investment' from the past but I'd say that investment is mostly emotional.
