Tea = INR 10-15
Bitcoin Network Fees = INR 13-14 (plus wait for confirmations)

Not Worthy for Tea Seller.
802  Local / India / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Core 0.19.1 is now available in TAMIL [Soon in Hindi and Telugu] on: April 18, 2020, 11:18:52 AM
I don't have much free time as I had during September - December last year and only a fair amount of time per week can be spent on translating the whole site. The Hindi translation is being taken care by webtricks (AFAIK) and as of now, we have a current broken Hindi translation for the site. So, you could collaborate with webtricks for fixing the current broken Hindi translations and myself for Telugu and Tamil versions respectively.

If anyone willing to contribute for these translations and get them sorted out before the release candidates which could possibly happen around May 15th reach out to me via forum PM or telegram.

That's correct.

I have been upgraded to the role of Coordinator for Hindi language. My present goal is to translate untranslated strings which are around 400 and then review the 118 un-reviewed strings and re-review 550 strings which are not translated properly.

If anyone wants to help, he/she can PM me or message me on Telegram @webtricky. Together we can help Bitcoin reaching wider Indian audience since bitcoin.org is an important knowledge base on Bitcoin both from the aspect of quality content as well as Search Engine rankings.

1. There no possibility to play in full screen mode. Maybe this is the biggest problem. I can't hide side bar in any way (not not only I)

You can play in full-screen mode just like SwC. All you need to do is activate 'Multi-Window Table Mode'. You will find this option at bottom left on Poker page. After this, game will open in new window (like SwC) and you can maximize the size of window to full screen.

2. Weird mechanic: to see your cards you need to tap on them. On Swcm for example, you see them anytime while you're in game and don't fold.

Cards remain visible as far as you are still in game. They only hide when you fold. Even in that case, you can view by clicking your name.

3. Weird sounds. It's the least problem. Just weird voice. You need at least to add possibility in settings to change voice on sounds.

I found 'check', 'fold', 'call' sound in deep voice weird too.  Cheesy Also, it doesn't seem relevant why user should listen those voice for his own action. I mean I know I folded, why should sound tell me so. It would be better if those voices are set for other players action not mine.

However, sounds are never the issue if you can simply turn them off from settings. Main issue that I noticed is that player can't see tournament standings while he's playing. Only his present rank is shown on top right which also only show rank out of active players and don't tell how many players actually participated in the tournament.

2. I don't need to tap on my cards to see them, though, that's a weird one for you. Unless you're talking about after you fold, in which case I agree, maybe it should simply show the hand you were dealt in a shaded/greyed out, or near the top line numbers.

I am happy not seeing my cards after I fold. I don't want to repent seeing possible Flush or Straight that I miss after the table cards are dealt.  Cheesy
804  Local / India / Re: Crypto ATM in India. Would it be worth it ? on: April 17, 2020, 01:46:36 PM
~~
Yes you are right. I remember reading an article at that time which mentioned that the issue was due to it being called an ATM.
They did mention that it was merely a Kiosk. But then I wonder why did they not rename it and launched it again.
Also, why did they not launch the kiosk again after the ban was uplifted in India since they launched their exchange again.

Simple answer is negativity.

When they installed machine, initially it got good response but soon media start questioning their authority to set up ATM. Although it wasn't ATM but layman can't differentiate between the two.  Later, the co-owners who are very sought-after and respected personalities in Indian Crypto Domain have to go to jail for the same. For an average person, no matter whether he's right or wrong, going to jail isn't considered normal. People would simply assume they are running scam business especially when their business is related to something as delicate as cryptocurrencies (still many Indians consider cryptocurrencies as some kind of ponzi scheme).

I don't think under such circumstances, Unocoin should/would re-consider setting that kiosk again. It will cover very less customer base when compared to online dealing and is costly too.
805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just think privacy is more important with financials. on: April 16, 2020, 01:46:51 PM
I don't understand what are you trying to point out.

As far as sharing address and transaction ID is concerned, yes, people can link any transaction to you as all Bitcoin's blockchain data is public. But that is how Bitcoin is supposed to work. If you want privacy while using Bitcoin, make sure not to post addresses publicly and use new address for every new receipt. Also try using mixers to remove any possible trail (ChipMixer is good choice). Encoding/Decoding won't work.

Most of my addresses that I have posted on public sources like this forum are my hot wallets. I keep low funds on them for recurring use. I have never publicized the addresses of my cold storage and no one can link those addresses to me.

Good feeling didn't last long, now I have 4 inactive players on table.

Try to make best out of situation. If they are cheaters then try to cheat them. Whenever, any of the inactive player is BB and other active players fold, make the 'call'. After flop, just make a bet instead of 'check' and the inactive BB will automatically fold. You will win the hand even with 27o.

I know that, but I want real poker experience  and not just few hours of grind before actual fun starts. Probably will not have the patience to hold until that time. I am currently 8th by the chip stack and I have played maybe few decent hands from the beginning.

It's already 1AM here and I was fed up with the slow game progress. At last, I went all in as I couldn't hold up any longer and now I am out.

Could you believe, one user even named himself 'sitout'. WTF!

@Steve, I have a suggestion. Next time, add an entry fees on the tournament instead of holding freeroll tournament. Whatever, SportsBet wanna give should be added to total prize pool. At least we would have a professional poker that way.

We already have over 60 people? Grin Wow, this one will be hard to win.

Nonetheless, beers are ready, so am I. See you all in a bit more than 2 hours and let's see who will still be there after midnight Smiley

Number of participants have risen to almost 90. I doubt someone sharing password or doing multiple entry as the number rose from 63 and 84 within few minutes. Nevertheless, this is free tournament and sole purpose shall be enjoyment. It's really kind of Steve and SportsBet.io to host this tournament with attractive awards and zero fees.
809  Local / India / Re: Crypto ATM in India. Would it be worth it ? on: April 15, 2020, 04:10:13 PM
This isn't the complete truth. ATM seize and owners' arrest weren't due to illegality of Bitcoin but due to the wrongful usage of term 'ATM'. In India, only banking sector can establish ATM machine. Other NBFCs can establish ATMs but setting up such ATMs require prior RBI approval and certain other requirements. But Unocoin arbitrarily set up machine and named it ATM. However, Unocoin could have avoided the aftermaths if the company used the term 'kiosk' instead of 'ATM'. The machine wasn't ATM in real essence. It was rather operating through Unocoin online account which puts the machine into mere definition of Kiosk.

Machine and the mechanism itself wasn't violating the RBI direction and was completely legit even before Supreme Court decision. However, it was the use of term 'ATM' which provoked State Police to take action against the owners. Even now when ban is lifted, setting up such machine and using the term 'ATM' would lead to retaliation from authorities.

I found a relevant video online from Crypto Kanoon youtube channel, he explained the situation beautifully in Hindi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwGODpXGlv8&feature=emb_logo
810  Economy / Economics / Re: US potential Recession and its effect on Cryptocurrency on: April 15, 2020, 02:02:10 PM
I think there are two mine ideologies with crypto:
1. It gets treated like cash
2. It gets treated like gold

If it's treated like gold we'll probably see quite a fall when the recession hits
If it's treated like cash, cash is seen as a bit of a guarenteed investment so bitcoin will be in good steadings...

That was a weak analogy.

Global Economy has seen 4 major recessions in last 100 years. Taking them as precedent, we can reach to this conclusion:

Precious metals like gold rise in the short-term during recession period. Once economy is out of recession and comes into recovery period, purchasing power of fiat currency (cash) start to rise. During this period, price of gold may fall a bit (~5%) but once economy stabilizes somewhat, investment once again start floating into precious metals and their prices rise exponentially.

However, this phenomenon depends upon how trustworthy the asset is. This may not work in the case of Bitcoin at all because it is too young and untrustworthy to be considered in precious metal class.

I can definitely do that, but who is running this freeroll then?

Hey Doodle,
There's a misunderstanding between you and cryptofrka. The one you are talking about is SportsBet freeroll tournament and the one cryptofrka talking about is SwC Poker tournament.

You can surely play the SportsBet one for free. All you have to do is send personal message to Steve who is the owner and representative of SportsBet on Bitcointalk. Here's the profile:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=832366

I don't know if he's allowing newbie accounts to participate or not. But you can try asking for the password.

Also this is not how you share images on internet. The link you pasted is personal to your computer and won't open for any other device in the world. In order to make image shareable on internet, make sure to upload it on some hosting site. The best free image hosting options available worldwide are imgur and imgbb.

Thanks for your review.
I remember using this site back in 2018 I guess, before RBI ban. I visited the site once again, although I haven't tried it yet but the volume looks decent for earners (one-time trader or investors). Maybe a little less from traders point-of-view. Also it allows direct INR to Crypto P2P channel which make it easier to use as compared to WazirX and other USDT based P2Ps. It is good to see that new players are popping into Indian crypto market.

Review

So I have played 20 bets and here are my observations:

1. One of the best thing about game is the low number of 1.01x crashes. Most of the rounds are crashing at 1.50x plus. This shows that the house have adequate bankroll. Most of the new crash games have at least one or two 1.01x crash every 10 games or so but that's not the case with Betnomi.

2. Display is good. Site looks professional. Game design is beautiful. I will rate it among top 5 crash games I ever seen from the display point-of-view. However, sounds and music are over-the-top. More decent music/sounds would make game payable long time. But 'game options' are easily accessible on the screen itself and users can simply turn music/sound off in two clicks. That's good.

3. Now about provably fair script. I haven't tested many crash sites for PF but the ones I remember mostly use the combo of pre-generated server seeds with a random hash as a client seed. For example, they may assume a future bitcoin block hash as a client seed and generate n number of server seeds before that block is mined. Then make the server seeds' hashes public and then use those seeds with the block hash to generate crash number. But on Betnomi, PF is implemented using the server seed along with 3 client seeds which are taken from the first 3 users who bet in the round. I tried generating manual client seed but in the mean-time others had already placed a bet so it was almost impossible for me to include my manual client seed for the PF calculation. And I am kinda sure at in every round, the three client seeds which are considered are always computer generated because most of the users place bet without even looking for the seeds. I am not doubting the implementation but won't it be better if the client seed of every player who made the bet in particular round shall be considered to generate crash number? I know the string will be extra-large. But limiting each user's client seed to like 4-8 characters will help in reducing the size of input for SHA-512. Just a suggestion.

4. Now the things I didn't like. First of all the incomplete site. You shouldn't display links of Casino, Sportsbook or Poker in the footer if they aren't launched yet. This reduces the professionalism of site. Second, KYC drama should be removed asap. I won't even consider filling my name and age to withdraw $10, let alone documents. I never seen such requirements before on any crypto gambling site. Cryptocurrencies = Anonymity. I read somewhere that you will remove these requirements by tomorrow. I will once again check the site tomorrow and make the withdrawal request if requirement is removed. Third and the most important negative aspect about your site is reputation. I read about your failed ICO a year ago and your explanation. Well, your explanation is convincing to certain degree but still not convincing enough when I have other gambling options for the same game. I will be having a close look at Betnomi in upcoming days and see how well you establish your brand. It is already nice to see that large number of bets are being made in every round, if these numbers increase many folds in upcoming days, I will consider depositing my money on the site too.

omg  Shocked I can't play with that colors haha
I can give a try on some freeroll, just for fun
who's playing with that color settings?  Grin

Almost everyone except you I guess.
Even I didn't like 4 colors first time I played. But now I am used to them. Can't play with regular deck anymore.

I had a blackout yesterday, anybody who was on the table will know what I am talking about. I think that was a biggest mistake I made while playing cards ever Smiley

Anyway, congrats to the winner and I am coming to get you today  Tongue

You had 20K chips when I was disqualified.

But after 15 minutes I checked the tourney again and you only left with 2K chips. What disaster did you make in those 15 minutes?

818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antonopoulos answers the question about the impact of halving on: April 11, 2020, 03:13:35 PM
Do you agree with him?

Well, there isn't anything controversial said by Anto in the video to disagree. He just narrated the aftermath of halving and it is evident that mining will become unprofitable for certain weak miners due to reduction in rewards. Low numbers of miners = Lower difficulty, hence, mining will still be profitable for other miners.

He is absolutely right about price. Simply because miners will get lower rewards doesn't mean price of bitcoin will increase. I doubt market solely moves on demand/supply model. It is comparatively more effected by speculation. So, the price may move in totally unexpected direction after halving, who knows.
819  Other / Meta / Re: POLL: Initial merit provided to older established accounts on: April 11, 2020, 02:13:01 PM
When merit system was introduced, I never thought it would gain so much importance over time. I thought it would simply act as an additional barrier to rank up just like activity and people won't care much about it. But as time progressed, merit talks came up as the hottest topic on forum. Many users are maintaining interesting merit data in Meta section. In nutshell, merits earned by a user has become status symbol and often regarded as a synonym of how constructive and quality poster the user is.

So in such scenario, it is wrong that all accounts from pre-merit era have been awarded merit points according to their ranks. I would have better liked the system if all users retained their pre-merit ranks but initial merit count for everyone shall be zero. So if someone is Hero Member before merit system, his starting rank shall be Hero but he needs to earn 1000 merits (not 500) to become Legendary.
