Hopefully gmcroman's boost will help us pop this sucker.

My garage is cold right at 60 degreen now but it's strange that changing the fan speed from normal to manual at 30% made the temp jump to 72 within 45seconds.  I guess I won't be touching FAN controls anymore.  Leaving it back to Auto control temp drop to 53-55 quickly.  Batch 8 speeding along at 4.7TH.  Definitely not as loud as I expected thanks to the super quiet EVGA PSU but there is a little whining noise.  At 30% FAN speed it was much more Avalon 6 like and no whining just rushed air.  Loving the Hash speed but boy is the cabling much more uglier then the Avalon 6.  Definitely more so when I add 4 more next month with Batch 9.  Loving the hash speed and can't wait to see how it perform when it's on the 220V IBM 2K PSU.

It's almost like the BOX want to hit 5TH but is running out of gas.  =)

The general consensus is that you want manual fan setting.  When set to auto if the internet goes down the fans don't cool the miner enough and it can over heat.  Just find the manual setting that gets the temps you want, best hashing usually happens in the 60's.

Yay pool currently over 6.5PH Smiley

Some of these big miners are fickle.

Did they have their maintenance downtime?  I see people in the trollbox still complaining about no BTC withdrawals.

Testimony from another satisfied customer = Bitbeaner

Note:
After being "fingered" on Poloniex-Chat about Crypsty-China Terrik ran back to Cryptsy-Chat  Roll Eyes

Below chat log is from CRYPTSY

Quote
Bitbeaner: @Terrik:it's part of my daily ritual now..I get a cup of hot coffee in the morning and open the the BCT thread and have some good laughs

Terrik: @Bitbeaner:eh.. it's awful.. I really looked into that thread for a couple weeks to see what it was all about.. and it's an awful place..

Bitbeaner: @Terrik:you just have to take it for what it is..great entertainment!

Bitbeaner: @skul1220:no, I think Cryptsy is getting ready to go full MtGox shortly....LOL

Selin366: @combinator:они же смотря тебе прямо в ник говорят, что понятия не имеют почему вывод не работает Smiley вот все несколько месяцев ни разу не поинтересовались

skul1220: @Bitbeaner: thats ok the will probably donate the coins Tis the season

skul1220: any wallets working?

mill0602: Orb and Med are the only 2 I have found so far

Bitbeaner: @skul1220:hopefully some children in China have a great Christmas with the proceeds ;-)

Sprite160: @skul1220: ZRC

BullionBob: well i made a pot of coffee and forgot to put the pot in place..what a mess

Selin366: @combinator:а сейчас вы от куда деньги на крипту берете ? Smiley

It's ironic actually.  They joke about cryptsy going full mt gox and then someone asks which wallets are working and it's only a couple of obscure coins.  No they're not like mt gox at all, you just can't get your coins out.  Totally different.

I received 2 Batch 8 miners and within 24 hours they both had 1 dead board.  Sad

At least I can still get 3.1TH/s with them while I was for a response from Bitmain...  Hopefully that doesn't take forever.
Sometimes I only get one or two boards to start, if I kick the clock down a notch they all pop up without rebooting. Touchy.

My batch 8 is much less impressive than my batch 5.  It does a weird thing where the hashrate drops 200-800 Gh for a short time and simultaneously the temp on the third board in the GUI goes down a degree or two.  Looks suspiciously like that board is losing part of the chain for a period of time, although no x's in the GUI.  It doesn't last that long (3-5 minutes) but it happens very often so the end result is the overall average is less than the 4.7 they claim.  It spends much more time hashing in the 4200-4500 range than the 4700+ range.  I have an EVGA 1600 on it same as I do on my batch 5 (which happily hits 5 Th almost continuously).

Wallets broken for weeks and yet vern is going to fix them in a mere hour of downtime, but for some reason not until Friday?  I predict that the withdrawal issues will continue past the downtime on Friday (assuming craptsy even comes back from the downtime).
828  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: December 17, 2015, 01:40:24 AM

Look at the Workers->Shift Graph
The light red shading is the 5Nd+ of the last reward

So now that you took the time to make that nice shading you need to add to your "to do" list to make it unshade for orphans and stale blocks  Tongue

Also now that I see it, eventually it will all be shaded except for the leading edge so maybe each block should get a different color?

Crypsty has nothing at all to do with this site.  It's not crypsty's fault that their name is all over it and that the parent company owns the domain registration.  Stop fudding.  If you posted this in cryptsy chat you would be banned.  It's exactly this type of fud that keeps breaking withdrawals.

You know the more I think about it, the more this whole thing is starting to remind me of Garza and paycoin.

830  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [5 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: December 15, 2015, 02:07:53 PM
I have about 20TH into Kano pool.
4 x s7 and 1 x s5. While S7s are hashing well... I noticed that the s5 is hashing but doesn't report "Best Share" - its currently "0"
I took out the s5 and pointed it to other pools and it show "Best Share" stats!
In Kano worker page, the s5 is hashing and producing shares, but there is no "Best Share" readings on the Antminer page.

Is this normal?

Are you manually setting diff? If so, don't. The dodgy default driver from bitmain doesn't read share diff if you are mining at a power of 2 diff (eg 512, 1024 etc.). That's why kano's pool has a default non power of 2 diff of 1042.

Aaaahh that's the deal.  Thanks for that ck.  I just noticed that some pools it works and some it doesn't I didn't realize this was the reason.

Also, not to disparage ck's solo pool at all but another small pool that can use hashrate is bitminter.  I have that as my backup for miners on kano.  Not that I have anything against the Chinese (they make nice hardware after all) but I do think that having more than 50% of the network hashrate in a single country is potentially problematic so I would avoid chinese pools for that reason alone, to say nothing of the whole SPV argument.  I also am a firm believer that smaller pools should be supported to disburse the hashrate as well.  If you mine small pools like I have always done you can also reduce variance (because small pools have greater variance) by putting hashrate on more than one pool (if you have the hashrate to spread around that is).

I added me newest S7 to kano yesterday.

Here is some Overvolting - overclocking of my S7 Batch 1 with DPS-2000BB and J4bberwock breakout board.
Getting ~ 5660Gh/s, Voltage is 12.75 V under full load.
Power consumption at the wall is 1590Watt => 0.28J/Gh efficiency
I know it runs hot, but I need the silence.

<image clipped>

Those are great numbers across the board.  I am curious, what happens with your hardware error rate if you overclock but don't overvolt?

JShock: @BlueHorseshoe: That is exactly why panic is spreading and withdrawals are backing up

SO YOU ARE ALL TO BLAME !

Did he just inadvertently admit that Cryptsy is insolvent; there is a run on people wanting to cash out in BTC, and they don't have the BTC to deliver ?!

Too many trying to push too much at once is causing more slowdown to the existing issues.

Yes.  If people would just stop trying to use cryptsy it would be working flawlessly.

After how long this has been going on there is no way it's technical.  They could have fixed this by now no matter how shitty of a coder vern is.  And if it was a hot wallet/cold wallet issue funds would have been transferred a long time ago.  I think there really is no other conclusion but that they don't have the user funds.  Insolvency.

What do you guys think a fair price for a used S7 would be? Is 4 BTC reasonable for a 4.86 TH/s model? I see that newer S7's cost ~ 4 BTC from Bitmain, but they would only begin shipping around December 20th at the soonest, and they're a little slower (4.6 or 4.7 TH/s if I remember right.. I'd check but their site is down).

Thoughts?

For a model with that hashrate that's a good price (based on what you would have paid for it new from bitmain).  Provided of course it works well and doesn't have any weird issues.

EDIT: I should say though at current USD\BTC price (like $450\1BTC) it makes it a high $ price.

Batch 8 purchased 12-6 shipped today.  They are almost caught up and could be shipping from stock within a few days.

First there is a pool section. => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=41.0

Second, current luck doesn't represent the future

Third, thanks but no thanks

I understand there is a "pool section."

I'll take it down in a few.

As for luck...  They had only 1.1 PH/s a few days ago.  Now they are over 4.6 PH/s.  They've recently had a couple of decent size farms add some hash in the last couple of days to make it where the variance is more manageable.  Hence, the rise in luck with better variance.

Trust me on that : current luck doesn't represent the future whatever variable/formula you want to put into your reflection

I'm aware of that.  I'm mainly referring to "variance."  The variance is more manageable with a higher hash rate on a pool operated by top notch staff when "luck" is low.

Totally opposite on Slush Pool.  They have a hell of a lot of hash but staff that doesn't know what they are doing.  Look at the orphans they have...

I would be willing to bet if you saw all of the hash rate you see at Slush on CK/Kano Pool, you would not see all of those orphans.

Pointed my 4 S7s and Avalon 6 to Kano right after your post, hopefully, you are right. 21 hrs no block yet, missed 2 payments ~$65 each from antpool already. I will continue to run at Kano a few more days to see if I get comparable payment.

You have to mine at kano for a little over 5 days to start getting full payouts.  Look at your shifts page.  When your shifts get to the red line then you are getting the full payout.  So your first payouts will be less than later ones assuming there are blocks found in the next 5 days (which there definitely should be).

Also, S7's under 4 BTC now on bitmain's website.
839  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: December 08, 2015, 04:41:20 PM

what's the avg payout per th/s after fees ?

Well it's going down as the pool hashrate increases and of course depends on whether or not you have been mining the full 5n and what your hashrate for that 5n has been.  But as of the last block for me it was 0.00735736 BTC/Th.  I have a stable hashrate for the full 5n.

Got another S7 on the way, think I'll put it on this pool along with the S5 in the screen shot below.

That bad boy would be a block at almost twice current difficulty.
