821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How bitcoin self custody will help reduce future bear market. on: September 07, 2023, 07:51:29 PM
~
Something must lead to a bear market, If it is not the CEX, it will be something else.

Bear Markets results from factors that we cannot control, so no matter how many people in cryptocurrency practice self custody, there will always be a bear market for some other reasons.

It will not be pragmatic to expect a bull market and no occurrence of an event that will really affect the price of bitcoins negatively.
822  Other / Meta / Re: Trust Flags!!! on: September 07, 2023, 07:05:46 PM
Have been wondering about this trust flag, trust issues or whatever is called...
Have been seeing so many accounts with numbers written on that trust position, some are of good (like the first one =) but my main concern is the one with (-).
An account with, let me say (-9) for instance, how can that be removed?
Does it mean that it will be like a scar on those affected account forever?
Is there no panel that someone with that kind of negative number (negative trust) such as (-9) go to, like to appeal for it to be removed?
If there's, how long will it take to be approved?
Take for instance where a user has gotten negative trust because they had issues with integrity for issues like not completing a business started with a forum member, or not repaying a loan collected from a forum member etc. those kind of negative tags on the account is a warning to other users who may want to do business with these people, or lend money to them. Those tags will never be removed and it is well deserved because people rarely change. Not every user on the forum is of good character and reputation.

That your tags will be removed or not, depends on the severity of the offense you committed.
823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Stabilize Bitcoin on: September 07, 2023, 06:57:37 PM
In order for Bitcoin to be widely used for payments, it is necessary to stabilize price fluctuations.
The volatility of bitcoins is high right now, and as such have been taken advantage off by many to invest in it. Bitcoins will not always be this volatile, as more people adopt bitcoins, the prices will tend to stabilize more.

The way we can contribute to this is to continue introducing people who are willing to bitcoins, and properly educating them giving them the reasons why they should adopt bitcoins because as already mentioned, the more it is adopted, the more stable the prize will become.

Because it will take a while for people to be educated enough to adopt it, stabilization of the prize will take a while to achieve.
824  Other / Meta / Re: censoring foul words. on: September 06, 2023, 08:32:54 PM
Actually there are bullies in this forum amidst the kind ones.
How about if the admin filter some keywords(foul words), such that when you use them, you will be handed ban. Such as 7days ban, few days signature ban, read only mode etc.
Understand that that is how some people talk normally, they may not even see it as offensive, but you on the other hand will be taking what they have said seriously and very personally like they knew you from somewhere before and have a reason to not like you or want to bully you. Most of the time the problem is not what is, the problem is how you see the problem. Some words that you may consider to be foul and offensive, may be words that some other people based on environment where they grew up or family may not see as offensive because they use those words. Grow up and don't let your esteem be shaped by other people's opinion of you.

You do not need to contribute to every discussion, especially the discussions on topics that you do not understand. The forum is not only for posting, it is also for reading and learning. You should read people's reply to learn from the more experienced forum members on topics you have poor knowledge on, instead of rushing to just comment. You will just be labelled a shit poster with the intention to keep up to your weekly post count.
826  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't look for investment, just hodle! on: September 06, 2023, 05:16:09 PM
Reason why many fail for scam is because they are looking for investment instead of just holding Bitcoin and wait for it value to appreciate organically,
And what's the reason why most newbies are looking for where to invest?

It is not always because of the lack of information that HODLing is good and DCAing can be a better strategy to accumulate bitcoins, they know this, but greed is most times motivating factor to want to double or triple the amount of bitcoins they have on a very short notice, and as a result of that they ignore all the warning of avoiding bitcoin investment platforms that promises ridiculous high returns. They become victims, loose their bitcoins and end up in regret.

22nd on the leaderboard and I am not proud of it. I need to do better next GW.
There is still room for improvement. It's currently still possible for you to Jump from 22 to top 10 in just a single good game week.
This is what I am hoping, that in one GW, my team players perform at the optimum for their clubs.

I still have to transfer out some players from my team, and bring in some new players.

Some players in my team have been disappointing for more than two weeks.
828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 05, 2023, 09:46:29 PM
I want to ask those of you who have a hard addiction experience in gambling and then you can treat it yourself, and today still playing gambling but with the principle of good management and financial management in gambling.
Addiction to gambling is not easy to break away from, and anybody that has successfully broken free from it did not do so so easily.

It is rare to see someone who has fought so hard to break addiction from gambling and then after that the person goes back to say they want to start gambling normally.

It is risky and dangerous because, if you continue gambling after defeating addiction, it is always easier to have a relapse and return to undisciplined gambling if not careful.

I want to know how you break away from the addiction, you can mention the actions taken or what kind of steps? And how long do you need time to break away from the addiction that has been experienced?
You break away properly by staying away from it, and for the time to break away from addiction, it varies from person to person.

This GW has been the strangest for me, from the very first game I already knew that this week will not go nicely for me.

Bowen scored a goal, I did not have Bowen, lost point.

Pickford my second choice goal keeper scored an own goal, lost points.

No clean sheet for Ramsdale still.

Jackson missed a clear goal opportunity.

Casimero and Fernandes were lost in the game against Arsenal.

No goals from Mitoma and March.

Poor performance from Isak too.

22nd on the leaderboard and I am not proud of it. I need to do better next GW.
830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto or Real estate on: September 05, 2023, 08:53:54 PM

Which one do you prefer?
It does not always have to be the choice of one over the other. They are both good investments and is encouraged for anyone who has enough capital to put into both of them to do so. Bitcoin is good, so also is real estate, and if you have enough to put into two of them, you will not regret it.  Investment in bitcoins is good and easier because you can invest any amount you have at hand, unlike real estate where you have to have a good amount of capital before you can invest.

Bitcoin offers  better opportunity for people from different financial class to invest, not real estate.
831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON Qualifiers 2023 on: September 04, 2023, 10:22:14 PM
AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS QUALIFICATIONS CONTINUES

- Ghana will play their game against Central African Republic without Thomas Partey who has a muscular injury and will be out for about six weeks, Ghana already top that group E, they should have no problems winning CAR without Thomas Partey. Amartey, Kamaldeen Sulemana, First-choice goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott, Benjamin Tetteh, Mohammed Salisu are players that Ghana will be without.

It is an important game for Ghana, they need to at least draw the game to be sure of the AFCON next year.
Ghana News

- Andre Onana returns back to the Cameroon team after retiring from international football. The indomitable lions are stronger and safer in goal with him.

832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government vs Bitcoin on: September 04, 2023, 08:39:09 PM
Governments frequently misunderstand bitcoin innovation.
This impression arises from the disproportionate bans and regulations they enact.
Although occasionally the bitcoin regulations appear unreasonable, I posit that bitcoin is not as detrimental as suggested. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Naturally it is a forum about bitcoins, by my assumption  considering the interest that has brought people to this forum, I will say close to the total number of users are on the side of bitcoins.

Thanks for telling us what we know already.

Welcome to the forum.
833  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk was down on: September 04, 2023, 08:18:32 AM
Could it be that a group of people is planning something bad and attacking bitcointalk - but for what?
Maybe you are just overthinking it, overthinking create problems that are not there.

It is more of the time technical related issues which is common not an attack of any kind.

It can be worrisome, but try not to be too worried.
834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I choose Bitcoin (and you'll must choose it too) on: September 04, 2023, 07:02:04 AM
Bitcoin's historical price:

Data speaks for itself. When you have any doubt about the "russian mountain", remember this post. Your welcome. Smiley
It seems simple to you @OP, but your reason to choose bitcoin to a total newbie with no understanding of cryptocurrency is not enough.

This same reason can be used by someone who has already chosen to invest in an altcoin to convince a total newbie to cryptocurrency to choose a certain altcoin too, and they will be convinced, so it is not a sufficient reason to choose bitcoins.

The historic price of bitcoin is good to note, but when trying to convince a newbie, more reasons are needed.
835  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Mixin Safe: A Convenient and Decentralized Multisig + MPC + Timelock solution on: September 03, 2023, 10:37:33 PM
At one side you said it is not a mixer and while on the other hand, you said, it's a wallet with mixing capabilities  Huh

Do you mean to say that we can mix our coins through this wallet and may not need a external mixer ?
The name of the safe reflects the name of the parent company "Mixin Ltd" from Hong Kong.

They do not provide bitcoin mixing service for people who want to mask the origin and destination of their coins, do not get it confused.

836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: September 03, 2023, 08:30:41 PM
Saka wasn’t so impressive today. To have missed two golden opportunities, he just wasn’t in for anything explicit. Fortunately, two loosed canons in D. Rice and G. Jesus had to get there first for the team and against Manchester United.
Saka was properly kept quiet by Diogo Dalot who we were unsure will be able to cover that win properly. Rashford of course did very well many times dropping back to give assistance to him behind against Saka.

I left my TV to go use restroom at 90+1mins and returned to find it 3-1! How did it happen? I was wondering how Manutd Defence got unlocked in a matter of minutes when I remembered Maguire was brought on. Is it a coincidence?
Maguire to me was not the problem. The problem is with the entire Manchester United team that are inconsistent, switching on and off and not being able to maintain the pressure. The were always dangerous anytime they attacked, but they were not given enough opportunity by Arsenal who worked hard to recover the ball anytime we lost the ball.

I was impressed with how Rice played today, but for Havertz? I feel he should not start games for us. He is not ready for it, there is no good connection between him and Martinelli like Xhaka provided.

Fabio Vieira should be given more opportunity to play, he was spot on with the timely assist to Jesus to score the last goal that was excellent.

I am really proud of Arsenal, we look almost like Champions league football material.
837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 01, 2023, 06:29:39 PM
What is the one behaviour you noticed in a gambler and  you dislike it? You don't need to have a reason for disliking it but you just do.

As for me I dislike when gamblers complain of their losses, meanwhile you hear them complain when they are getting winnings.

What about you, what do you dislike ?
I do not like how irresponsible and inconsiderate some really addicted gamblers can become due to gambling. They can totally ignore other responsibilities that they need to attend to and other activities just because they want to gamble.

Also I do not like how the can totally ignore other things and bills that are important just so they can make out enough money to use in gambling.
Some addicted gamblers are unkempt, do not care about getting good clothes, or having good balanced meals, and some do not care about maintaining good relationships they have . They mostly only concern themselves with gambling, that is a terrible way to live.

I also detest when a gambler borrows money to gamble.
838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Socialtournaments-A way to stop gambling addiction on: September 01, 2023, 05:58:59 PM
Do you think this platform can help people remove addiction, I think it can be a big boost to do so.
Good initiative that will help those who really want help, not the people who want to stop gambling but are not serious about it.

One very good way to beat addiction is to stay occupied and engaged, that way you can forget about the habit that is so difficult to control. The games that can be played without money is good but can be ineffective in a long run because it still exposes the addicted gambler to the same environment that they want to free themselves from putting them at the danger of having a relapse even if they successfully stay the period playing games without using their own money.
839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rant: Casinos should hire people who knows about what they do on: September 01, 2023, 05:16:23 PM
So please if you're a casino owner here, hire people who understand simple things about gambling. This is not good for business at all!
Sometimes the people employed for the job are the people available for it. They have good qualification for the job in some aspects deemed important by the employer, but it is also possible that they do not know everything regarding the Casino they work with and sometimes it is because that is not their area of expertise. As an employer, this is why it is important to occasionally carry out lectures, orientation and seminars for your staff so they can know about the company they work for and be able to answer simple questions regarding the company.

It does not speak well of a company, that staffs of the company are ignorant of simple things that they should know, I mean the simple things, not the technical things that requires expertise knowledge.
840  Other / Meta / Re: How to get merit in this forum? on: September 01, 2023, 04:48:31 PM
l want to ask about how someone can get merit, is it something that can be gotten through posting useful content, or is it something that can be gotten by chance or luck?
This is a forum where people come to learn mostly, and if you are sharing a content that has value and has the potential for someone to learn from, you will likely get merit from the person who is learning from you, or from someone who understands the importance of the content you have shared.

You can also be lucky and receive merits by chance, but that is in a case where a merit source in the board where you have posted, just decides to distribute merits randomly to forum users there, but it does not always happen.

The best way to get merits is to share useful contents.
