822  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best online Bitcoin wallet ? on: January 17, 2015, 12:34:59 PM
blockchain info - the best imo by far.

and as sifter posted, DO NOT store large amount of coins in an exchange wallet.
Do not store large amounts in any wallet.
Spread them everywhere and reduce the risk.

For example, I have a cold wallet with a few coins inside.
Whenever I want to spend them I have to do something with all the coins. Also when I only want to send 0.2 BTC somewhere else, I have to touch them all.
I'm looking into offline signing to reduce this risk but it's too complicated for the moment.
823  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best online Bitcoin wallet ? on: January 17, 2015, 12:34:11 PM
Just don't store it on an exchange.
Don't want to get goxxed now do you.

It depends.
If you use them as a store of value, you shouldn't keep them on an exchange.
On the other side, bitstamp customers were not really goxxed in the end, so the market is getting better.

If you want to use them for sporadic transactions or store of value blockchain.info is a pretty good choice since there are good security measures taken. (if we forget about the breach a few weeks ago)

824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spanish Political Party Calls for Bitcoin Regulation on: January 17, 2015, 11:59:58 AM
but what if these 'regulations' prevent ordinary people from investing in BTC because it's a high risk investment..?

That means, MORE COINS FOR US!! Yeeeeehaaaa.
Bitcoin is not about investing. It's about a transition from one system to another.
Let them stick in the old system while we forward into the new system.
The world only have progress when you move forward.

826  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best online Bitcoin wallet ? on: January 17, 2015, 11:44:25 AM
Hello,
I am looking for a good online Bitcoin wallet.
I want a wallet that respect my privacy (no log, no asking for ID card, no asking for my first name, etc...).
Low fee.
Do you have any idea ?

You can use https://www.blockchain.info and fill in some bogus names.
It's pseudo online.

Maybe Circle.com is another option.
Or Bitfinex.com

Just fill in bogus names if you are concerned about privacy.
827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin goes below 10$, we are all early adopters!! on: January 17, 2015, 11:41:14 AM
If bitcoin reaches below 10$...

Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are a failed experiment.
828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spanish Political Party Calls for Bitcoin Regulation on: January 17, 2015, 11:40:06 AM
I like the regulations, it means that they are afraid and that bitcoin counts!
829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ABN Amro has no interest in Bitcoin on: January 17, 2015, 11:34:09 AM
http://www.coindesk.com/top-dutch-banks-confirm-blockchain-experiments/

No interest "in using bitcoin directly – either its currency or network"

"Dutch banks won't actually be using bitcoin themselves in any way"

and they regard Bitcoin as a "high integrity risk".

"It is absolutely out of the question that these banks will transfer money over the actual bitcoin blockchain out of reach from the Dutch central bank."

However, and most interestingly, they are "interested in experimenting with the Ripple payments network".

Very interesting times ahead.

Banks will always try to rip you off. I don't believe anything they say.
Months ago Rabobank had an ethical comission stop fiat transfers to bitcoin exchanges, weeks ago they announced they were experimenting with bitcoin, the opposite.
They lie, and they continue lying in the future.

But hey, they might be right about not doing business with bitcoin, because they also don't really do/did business with physical gold.
They hate stuff they can't manipulate.

stay away from xrp for now ever.

there, fixed it.
830  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: vanitygen on: January 16, 2015, 12:21:37 PM
where can i download the executable?
There is no executable. This works on linux. You have to compile it.
831  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: vanitygen on: January 15, 2015, 09:25:58 PM
my version dont suport the compressed format
Mine neither.
Did we miss something when compiling? Smiley
832  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: vanitygen on: January 15, 2015, 08:38:24 PM
Not sure what you mean. Do you mean you want the private key to be in another format?
yes. in pubkey compress format
start with K or L

Oh, that's easy.
Just take the output from vanitygen and go to wallet details at bitaddress.org.

Code:
satoshi@nakamoto ~/applications/vanitygen-master $ ./vanitygen -i 1fabio
Difficulty: 63825187
Pattern: 1fabio
Address: 1FABios7oEqdjEPjo3yeBWdqGTDrdukVWG
Privkey: 5Jg4heZuwpK5U8wmYs5TrS6Vhg6hUCgxE2yetEgnQvAWPNKV8zu

For security purpose you can even download the page and check the integrity on an clean (cd-rom boot) machine and run the page.

There you can fill in the private key and see the compressed keys.

WIF compressed:
L11RLQpGgwpnin4jde2hXBmFgXa9d4bLkXj4D9QbSZexhdaf9R5m

for this example.

May I ask where you want to use the address?
833  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 15, 2015, 07:47:31 PM
it's almost time for daily dump. my associates at the anti-bitcoin consortium are getting ready to offload a few thousand coins on all major exchanges. we're making final preparations now

are you stupids ready to lose more moneys?

At exactly what time are you claiming you will make this happen?

soon. you will know when all money is gone. better give up hope and sell now before too late.

Prove it

State an exact time or how do we know you are not talking bullshit?

At least state a range of "soon" like between an hour from now and 3 hours from now.

Between January 27th and 31st, my bids are ready.
834  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 15, 2015, 07:35:31 PM
I think this year litecoin will officially die.
This coin has been proven to be worthless times 1000.
Only hopium is preventing this coin from dying even faster.

Bahahahahahahaha, hilarious.  Refuse to back by gold and not 6 months later.. PWNAGE.  Morons.

Do you really think the votes weren't rigged?

Directly, no.  I think propaganda is an amazing tool that can easily scare 60-70% of the population into doing what you tell them.

Exactly what I mean with rigged.
Rigged doesn't only mean counting fraud, but also propaganda mind control.

People should wake the fuck up and like you said, do their own research.
836  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Charlie Hebo, just like 9/911, and 777 was an inside job on: January 15, 2015, 07:30:13 PM
Why do all these nutjobs start coming to this forum?

It's getting crowded with this type of credulous people, this forum used to be populated with intelligent people, and now all this crazies posting crap all the time.

There is an ignore button for this purpose.
I rather read every opinion possible and try to take the information without bias.
Try it, sometimes you will have to change your opinion on things.

the vanitygen project is abandoned?
https://github.com/samr7/vanitygen last commit Oct 24, 2012
If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

i like this tool
i use he offline (i read some thinks)
but i likely he addresses in compressed pubkey...

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean you want the private key to be in another format?
839  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Best way to generate a lot of private keys/public key pairs on a server? on: January 15, 2015, 07:21:35 PM
I was using blockchain.info's API for this, but I've hit their API usage limits. Is there a PHP library or something that will allow me to generate a large amount of private key/public key pairs constantly through out the day where I don't have to worry about usage limits?

You sure you need the private key as well?
If you want the addresses to use with customers, why not generate key pairs with bitaddress.org (for example) and then only upload the public key and keep the private key very secret somewhere offline?
840  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 15, 2015, 01:55:41 PM
I really enjoy myself seeing LTC die.
What a wonderful day it is.
Glad I bought some panic coins yesterday as well.

Rockets, we need them rockets.
