8401  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hosting with namecheap - problems? on: May 14, 2017, 09:07:54 AM
Your service may get more attention if you can add some more features like showing collective balance along with individual balance in each address. Also you can add iframe code to display bitcoin held by those addresses in the form of image in other webpages. Email alerts when any of the bitcoin addresses listed receive bitcoins or send out bitcoins etc.

Good luck

What this has to do with the question from the OP? Have you even take the time to read what the guy was asking. Your reply show you don't and you just post non sense. The guy is asking what about Namecheap and you tell him to add iframe code to display bitcoin held by those addresses ad email alerts
8402  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: May 13, 2017, 06:29:45 PM
I've put capitalist.net on the list as it seems like their partnership with livecoin.net is still in place but they're the ones issuing cards. Their offer to cover fees probably isn't in place but interesting service nevertheless.
I have just began to use capitalist.net as new exchanger, cause of my previous one provides operations very slowly. Didn't know that they have fever cards too.

Their cards are VISA or MASTERCARD ? Because when i visit their website they mention and show a Visa card but in the footer i see the logo from mastercard too. Or maybe they have both?
8403  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Certified Bitcoin Professional on: May 13, 2017, 04:32:51 PM
I am sorry to say but this kind of certification has no value, at least to me. What was the process to get it ? Following the course and complete a quizz ? In their about page i see Andreas M. Antonopoulos, Vitalik Buterin, and a few others listed as their Board of Directors. I am a little surprised to see them and I never heard about this consortium

C4 has been around a pretty long time now but to be blunt, we aren't experts in marketing. We mostly just quietly do things we think are helpful. In addition to the professional certification, C4 also introduced the CryptoCurrency Security Standard, and have run a very well received training conference.

The certification may not have value to you, but we have many partners who are strong believers in it, including exchanges, professional services firms, dev shops, and banks. We especially find that organizations looking to hire their first couple blockchain focused employees find a lot of value in it, as they are less likely to know what questions to ask in an interview process. The cert gives them a measuring stick that helps ensure the people they are hiring are not completely smoke and mirrors.

From the side of the professional, we have had numerous people tell us that getting the certification helped prepare them for jobs in the space, and helped them prove that knowledge to perspective employers.

I mean, I get the teasing. Not everyone believes that certifications are beneficial. Not to mention there are a lot of scammers out there looking for a quick buck.
C4 is a non-profit, that's been around for over three years, which just aims to help mature the space and professional certifications is a means to doing that. We always make sure to work with incredible people across the industry to ensure what we offer is the absolute best that it can be.

Yes, i see my error since, I checked more carefully the website and visited the blog, and a couple of others things, CBP Study Guide and the "Preparing for the Certified Bitcoin Professional exam". I see it differently since, and understand why and how some firms/services can find it usefull finally. To tell you the truth, if i was in charge of recruiting people, (for something where this certification can be used) I would ask this. I will save time surely
8404  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase Verification - photo ID? on: May 13, 2017, 02:36:29 PM
When you want to buy bitcoin with Coinbase yeah you need such verification. I don't remember exactly but i saw somewhere that Coinbase wants to access webcam users for selfie also. But if you are planing to just use it as a wallet, without buying, then there is no need of verification of anything, unless they changed recently with their latest changes (fees, ect) And yes it's called KYC/AML policies and lot of exchanges have no choices to apply thoses rules
8405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Losing Faith in Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2017, 02:26:17 PM
Similar situation happened last week, Bitcoin price decrased by 100$ in just 1 hour, then what happened next? Price got back to what is was just before this 100$ move. I am not afraid anymore to see such behavior on the price. Unless I see a 400$ drop, then I can say all is fine Tongue
I bet you Monday the price will be over 1800$
8406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Macron supporting bitcoin? what does it mean for us? on: May 13, 2017, 02:05:07 PM
Typo error? Sorry, but there's no excuse. Don't they have proofreaders? Don't they check the correct spelling of a word if they're not familiar with it? I do. I know France has low standards, but failing to write correctly bitcoin on a government's document where it's very precisely the subject is telling a lot.

Let me remind you that you are telling us firstly France doesn't know anything about Bitcoin and is a loser because there is a typo in a PDF document. How silly is such argument? You are just ridiculous and not a credible person. Yet you make yourself typos as well, so according to you, you'are a loser as well. Ironic. And no, France doesn't have "low standards", I can see you don't know anything. I guess Google is available in your country ? Use it wisely

I don't make typo errors. I can't afford it. I would lose my job if I did, so I'm paying proofreaders, people who check and correct my words if necessary. Besides, when I wrote about "low standards", I wasn't only thinking about typography. I've been in France 4 times so far this year (I'm also going to Paris next Friday, but it will be a quick trip, I'll arrive in the morning, and leave in the afternoon), 3 times before going to Italy, and Italy is cleaner, with more polite people. Believe me, I know France, all the neighboring countries, and I'm very good when it comes to comparing countries.

Back to Macron, I'm still waiting for a tangible proof of his supposed support.

Oh Paris ?  oh yeah, man you're so funny. What a great representation of France, you make my day seriously Cheesy Cheesy
Yeah now back to the topic. There is no tangible proof of his supposed support regarding Bitcoin, because there is not, and nowhere he claimed supporting bitcoin ! Someone posted this old pic on Twitter after the election results and of course those blogs related to Bitcoin/crypto jumped immediatly on the opportunity to write something, like if there isn't better to write about. This photo was taken during a Fintech event, you can aslo find the FrenchTech logo, where does it means he support Bitcoin ?
8407  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Why cant I Sign Message in Coinbase on: May 12, 2017, 07:18:21 PM
@813bits Have you tried with another browser to see if it could just be a browser problem?

Because you don't own your private keys and you don't own your coins.  You also can't sign a message in any other online wallet as far as I know.  Your best bet is to go with a software wallet or a TREZOR instead.

It is possible to sign a message with Coinbase. As far as I know it is the only web based wallet allowing people to sign a message (I have not tested all web wallets BTW)

8409  Economy / Exchanges / Re: My Bittrex account was hacked on: May 12, 2017, 03:14:20 PM
When was last time you changed password?  Did you do it after that passwords leaked?  It was few months ago.

In my case, honestly I never changed it before this incident. I joined Bittrex around November/December and have not hear about any leak. And don't remember receiving a newsletter from them about this subject.

your bad is not use 2fa, its most important especially for your exchange site its contains with your money but why you not use 2fa authentication? maybe you are a keylogger victim, make sure to clean your pc and change the password and use 2fa authentication

I don't know anything with 2fa, not even sure how to use it. But if it something to install and use on smartphone then better i tell you it is defintely not for me.
8410  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which are your best bitcoin exchanges for a beginner user? on: May 12, 2017, 02:45:30 PM
Hi guys, I'm looking for the best bitcoin exchanges for a new user with little technical knowledge.

After seeing the effect that the French election of E. Macron had on the price of bitcoin, I think that the time is right for me to finally invest.

I would be looking to buy 10 k usd worth of bitcoin with my card or bank account. Are there are good places to buy bitcoin, which accept either of these two deposit types, and that are easy to use, reputable, & safe? I work between Europe (the UK) and the US and have a mastercard & visa debit for both countries. I could also use my paypal to buy the bitcoins, but i'd imagine the fees would be far higher?

I don't really advice you to pay your bitcoin with your card, because you will pay a higher fees. And I assume your are looking to make some profits from it.  Same with Paypal you will pay at a higher rate due to the risk of fraud (wich happen frequently honestly). If you can use your bank account to make a bank transfer, SEPA or SWIFT then it will be more appropriate in your case. Kraken is one of the most reputable Bitcoin exchange. And cash in or cash out, work fast in both case
8411  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help! Selling Bitcoins on LocalBitcoins.com resulted in my bank account locked on: May 12, 2017, 01:23:53 PM
Nothing much you can do other than giving the maximum proofs you can collect and forward to your bank. Sad, but i am not surprised of such fraud on localbitcoin. I hope you will be able to win this case. Honestly, for me, localbitcoin is not so much a recommanded place in my book, due to cases like your

-snip-

Thanks for your reply, Yes it's a prefect exemple Smiley. Now if you look at the rise of the Bitcoin price since December, I guess something quite important is coming soon in the following months. Or maybe we can say it's already started, with the facts that for exemple, Japan accepts Bitcoin as a commodity (like gold and silver) Malta finally decided to embrace the Blockchain/Bitcoin ecosystem,ect... A snowball starting that the Insiders are well aware before
This days I am very excited Grin
8413  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bonpay Plastic/Virtual Bitcoin Card free order on: May 11, 2017, 01:24:57 PM
Hello, @LeGaulois!
I must say, that unfortunately, we have to follow the new French policy. Thus, every resident should be verified. However, we will be pleased to help you with that! Just connect Bonpay representative on our web-site.
Thanks for your question.

Thank you. After checking I saw your are based in England (or in UK at least), so I guess all services based in the European Economic Community have no choice to apply to this law. Yesterday I talked a little with Emily about the situation, and Bonpay look perfect for my case and very understanding. I am now waiting for the launch of your service, I subscribed to the email list. I will be very happy
8414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Macron supporting bitcoin? what does it mean for us? on: May 11, 2017, 12:54:02 PM

Proof that France doesn't know anything, nor supports BTC:

http://www.strategie.gouv.fr/sites/strategie.gouv.fr/files/atoms/files/cp_lancement_blockchain_def.pdf

It's an official document from the French government. On the first paragraph, it's very revealing. They made a mistake. They wrote "bitcon" instead of "bitcoin". If they don't even know how to spell bitcoin, I'm not expecting much from them...

What a bunch of losers!

Come on! It's a typo. Oh yeah, very revealing to say the least. You also make typos, then what ? You make me laugh. You can't call a nation nasty name because on a PDF related to the blockchain there is a typo. On the top of that, there is only 1 typo... so funny

Hi majsta

Similar happened to me 2 days ago and I noticed it today with an email received from Bittrex. Glad i didn't have anything to steal in as I never keep any coins more than 1 day. I changed my password and emailed them. Finally I am happy to see I am not the only one. I don't type my password so i don't think a keylogger can catch anything

Stay away from website with a pyramid scheme. The payout to members depend on the incoming cash flow, wich use the money invested by new members to pay the old investors. When the new registrations and money invested start to decrase this is where the problem start. Of course, you will find "great" reviews from the exisiting members, telling you can make 0.01 BTC daily ect, but it is because they are only interested to see you joining to 1) get a commission if you join under them and 2) to keep the wheel running so the system continue
99.9% don't stay long online. A good exemple of such site is trafficmonsoon, where is the site today? Sized by US authorities and the owner near to finish in prison

Thanks for the answer........ then should I just buy bitcoins directly from website like bitcoin.com or is there another way to buy them.. Newbie here Smiley

It depends how you are planning to pay. With your bank accoun, a card, ect. I don't think Bitcoin.com is selling Bitcoin. The site is just listing the place where you can buy from. If you want to use your bank account, wich is the most convenient, then you can go to use Kraken, or exchanges similar to Kraken, Bitstamp, ect. If you want to use your card, you can go to Bitpanda, ect, usually paying with a card you pay bitcoin higher. You can even buy bitcoin with Paypal or Amazon codes, but same, be ready to pay a bigger price.

HI @Bonpay

What is your politic regarding french citizens. Are you asking for a full verification ID, with card and adress proof, before delivering the card?
As since the 1st May the french gov. is asking to providers of prepaid card service to request a full verification from french citizens and residants.
Nice website good luck

8419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Macron supporting bitcoin? what does it mean for us? on: May 10, 2017, 09:50:35 AM
i m not sure Macron like bitcoin, he is a banker , i dont expect anything from him

He was banker only 3 years, it's nothing in a carreer. After a master in politic science, he worked as an "Inspector of Finances" for gov during 5 years, only after he started with  Rothschild bank. You see it as a banker, but as I say, he has been just 3 years!
He supports the blockchain technology but it doesn't mean he has an interest in bitcoin. It's just that it's the most easy way to show the use of the blockchain to show his support is via Bitcoin, so don't except something from Macron to propose any regulations.

I guess they are not so interested in Bitcoin, but just to grab the opportunity to look swag in public by using money 3.0.
Smart advertisement for them, as if it success they will get a couple of good articles talking about this deal. Good ORM techniques lol
