861  Economy / Economics / Re: When will smartphones used for bitcoin mining? on: July 29, 2018, 06:45:32 PM
I have heard of people that buy phones cheaply and set-up a mining rig from phones. Not sure if it is for Bitcoin, but I have seen garages with over 2000 phones to mine crypto. Don't know how much H/s you would get from that to mine bitcoin specifically, but you can definitely try. The problem/cause solution here is the profitability.

No, currently there are no smartphones capable enough to mine bitcoins.

Also, keep in mind that the difficulty to mine is increasing with time and thus we will need stronger devices in future.
862  Economy / Economics / Re: Does engaging with bitcoins put you at risk? on: July 29, 2018, 06:36:11 PM
We, as physically and intellectually healthy individuals, strive and survive to achieve our dreams, establish our roles in the society and fulfill our needs and wants. But in order to do this, we are also required to be financially healthy. The lingering fact is that money is not achievable as a single candy you can buy in the store. Sometimes, people risk their lives and reputation just to get a handful. Bitcoins are not officially a currency that you can just see in a certain country, that are being utilized and used. So, is dealing with bitcoins and other things related to it also puts us in a risky gamble?

At first, I thought you meant some threat to life because of holding money in form of bitcoin. If we compare on that front though with things like gold, you can keep money as bitcoins more safely.

Now coming back to the risk of loosing money with bitcoin investment, it is a big risk for sure. But you know that from the beginning ad thus you have to invest accordingly. You can take some measures to reduce the risk as well like investing for an year or more.
863  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think bitcoin redistributes wealth or just makes the wealthy richer? on: July 29, 2018, 06:32:59 PM
Just that... do you think there is any re-distribution effect at all due to bitcoin?

The early adopters made good money with their investment. I think it is not about the money you make with crypto but what you do with that money. For instance, I was seeing the story of a college dropout who invested the money given by her grandmother in early years. He is not a millionaire and has started an online company with that profit. Now there will be people employed in his company, other business getting benefited by his company.

864  Other / Meta / Re: recovery my account on: July 29, 2018, 11:41:51 AM
This is a permanent ban and is not going to be reversed. Recovery process is for cases like when your account gets hacked by some hacker.

This means that you cannot create a new account on this forum as per the rules. If discovered, the new account will be banned.
Are you the Manager? I just don't know what they might have found in the forbidden branch where I'm handing out my bounty reports.

No, I am not from the forum staff.

The first comment explained clearly about the cause of your ban, what part are you not able to understand. I see one post from you in another language, you can translate the first comment here with external tool if language is the problem.
865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: thinking quiting after lose on gambling. on: July 29, 2018, 11:39:33 AM
I don't have such experience, after losing on gambling, I just have some break then keep going on gambling.
It is all about setting up limit after losing or winning.

Let me tell you why these limits do not work:

1) There can be some unexpected scenarios that will completely change everything. Like after your limit is over, you may see some tempting offer or tournament in some site. You will feel compelled to pay depending on how much addicted are you.

2) It is hard to put self limit as you have all the control. A limit from an external member may be more firm.
866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling addiction mainly due to loneliness and dissatisfaction? on: July 29, 2018, 11:36:57 AM
I will agree to you OP to some extent.

When a person is lonely, he might be attracted more to gambling cause:

1) He needs to do something just to pass his time. Most often practices like gambling appear as the easiest option in these cases.

2) Another problem with lonely people is that they do not have someone to monitor or control them before gambling addiction occurs. It has more impact than all other points.

867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much have you won/lost on bitcoin gambling ? on: July 29, 2018, 11:34:43 AM
I don't know, but probabily more then 1 BTC in terms of coin amount.
In terms of value it all depends on the price during my losses.
I believe about $2k

I have also never calculated all this but in my case it should be less than 1 BTC at current prices.

Most of the money that I lost was during first 1 year of my  gambling only. I realized all this one day when by bank balance was zero. That was a wake up call for me and I completely over gambling addiction now.
868  Economy / Reputation / Re: why 42 merits for bounty hunter on: July 29, 2018, 11:17:21 AM
42 is a lucky number for roslinpl

He won Euro million where 42 was one of the number of the set.
07 - 19 - 26 - 42 - 50        04 - 09

As you can see there are other numbers as well but somehow he considers 42 is his luckiest number among all.  Grin

Really, you believe all this ?
869  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 🌍[Guide] Prevent scam!!! Seven useful tools for find scam / fake ICO team 🌍 on: July 29, 2018, 10:43:37 AM
In addition to the tools you mentioned, let me add one more. It is wayback machine.

Basically, this site allows you to look how a web page looked in the past. Suppose we have a new scam project at abc.com and they claim 100% daily returns on every investment. Now they keep changing their terms quite often on their website to lure more people. You can catch them with this tools. Similarly, you can check other suspicious activities like frequent change of teams for the project on their site.

870  Other / Meta / Re: Lets go deeper in "brand new" and " newbie" statistics on: July 29, 2018, 10:40:08 AM
Thats a really interesting find. Maybe it has something to do with the hype of bitcoin when it hit $20k, people came to this forum then suddenly lost interest when it he price dropped?

I bet most of the newbie accounts are from that period only.

Such a crash is very bad for crypto in general. It will not only result in huge loss for the new investors but some may get done with crypto with this first bitter experience. I mean loss of 10-20% is still fine but someone loosing half of his money or more in few days can have a very large impact. Probably many such investors never looked back at crypto or this forum.
871  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk site overview must be changed and basic tutorial must be added? on: July 29, 2018, 10:36:55 AM
Admin made a thread for something similar (regarding tutorials related to bitcoin investing) . I am not sure what is the progress with it.

Regarding, making tutorials on forum rules, how to use the forum and bounties, there are individual threads about all this. May be you can combine all these in one thread and start this initiative yourself.

I think in some past post, I had suggested that new registrations should be made to read the rules and then answer some questions based on what they have read to complete the registration. This will serve dual purpose, everyone will be acquainted with the rules and it will stop spam registrations.

873  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it practical to expect tenfold jump in Bitcoin this year ? on: July 29, 2018, 10:17:58 AM
Is it practical to expect tenfold  jump in Bitcoin this year ? It has happened in past but is it practical to expect it this year also ?

It is not too likely to have such a rise two years in the row, but of course in crypto everything is possible, even though I would not put my bets on that.

In that case what other coins will you will suggest that can give that much returns ? I will prefer older coins also which have proved themselves for an year or more even if the returns are little less with them.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some of the best movies based on gambling? on: July 29, 2018, 10:12:45 AM
Also, I would like to add a regional movie. There is a Bollywood movie "Teen Patti". It is an excellent movie based on gambling with very tight story line. All of you can give it a try with subtitles, I am sure you guys will like it for sure.
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I improve my visibility on Steemit? on: July 29, 2018, 10:11:16 AM
I do have steemit account, but it has low reputation, so basically reputation is a must to improve one's account. You need a help from the seniors on steemit to guide and learn more.

Isn't this what I am asking. I am not sure how reputation works there but if I derive some meaning from the word, it should be related to the activity on the platform. I mean if one gets good upvotes there, it should increase the reputation. All accounts stat with same reputation, so how can we get one with high reputation from beginning ?
876  Other / Meta / Re: Indian Sub New Moderator ? [Recommendations Welcome] on: July 28, 2018, 07:41:17 PM
A little bit off topic, but isn't that case solved now.

I mean last time I heard, that exchange was asking for details from investors so as to pay them back. If they have processed the payments, shouldn't the initial decision be reversed ?
877  Economy / Economics / Re: hackers becoming smarter than exchanges? on: July 28, 2018, 07:29:25 PM
Well most of us here are already aware of the hacking activities of binance and bancor. They are taking practical measures to track down the culprits but the question on my mind is why could coincidentally both exchanges be hacked? Now it appears that the exchanges are not moving at a faster and innovative ways to upgrading their systems and allow these hackers time to study their systems well, identify the loop holes and cause the problem. In my opinion, exchanges should always move in an unpredictable way so as to always confuse these scammers .The scammers are scaring new investors away and this must stop.Exchanges must be up and doing so that we can attract new investors into cryptocurrency else our efforts are going in vain to attracting new investors.

It is not about the smartness. The problem is the thinking which compels them to take the wrong route. Mainly these are guys who just think of short term earnings and ignore the consequences. I have had made good money reporting bugs on websites that prevents such hacks. I know some who make a living with it and also have a lot of respect from others.  Some crypto exchanges have also come up with a bug bounty program.
878  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can you invest in bitcoin without being scammed? on: July 28, 2018, 07:18:25 PM
For your safety, I think that before you buy or sell Bitcoin with someone else, you should find a reputable person to mediate for this deal. Also, you can meet and deal directly with the seller or buyer

Why do you suggest that ?

Isn't buying from a reputed exchange better in comparison to making deal with a stranger online. Also, for regular buyers, finding people for the volume you want to deal with is a very hard task.

879  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it practical to expect tenfold jump in Bitcoin this year ? on: July 28, 2018, 07:08:42 PM
The price of Bitcoin is unpredictable. Last year, everyone was surprised when the price of bitcoin increased 20 times compared to the beginning of the year. We should calm down and wait from now until the end of the year. I think 60% Bitcoin will increase ten times at the end of the year

Actually, this target seems achievable if we see the last year performance. But the comments here suggest that this will not happen now. It  is mainly because of the disappointing performance of crypto this year. There are additional problems that can prevent huge increase in bitcoin price. Like we have other alt coins becoming popular and thus some are preferring this.

I found plagiarism too. Will post here to not multiply topics.

 DO NOT POST SESC LINKS

 DO NOT POST SESC LINKS

Funny because this posts are one after another.

Accounts links:

I think you can just use the report option for those posts. That should have the same consequence as making a post or thread here.
