861  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: September 02, 2023, 07:38:52 PM
This is a very peculiar attack, firstly because it occurs far from the front, second because it has to be done from either inside Ruzzia or from the nearby border (I cannot discard that operatives could use NATO territory to launch the attack to be honest).

However, what I find more interesting is the target, the ILUs - just the transport version. I can only guess that is an economic hit of around $50 million per unit for a total of 200 million using low-tech drones?. Ruzzia has around 100 of these, it is not really scarce, but may be difficult to replace under sanctions.
Yeah, Russia have over 100 such planes. But I read that they're capable to produce just few such planes per year, so such loses just in one attack is painful. Offcourse, it would be more fun if it would be some fighter jets damaged, but still, it's more effective than hitting some ''Moscow City'' skyscrappers Smiley. And most important thing that this attack shows that Ukraine is capable to reach targets which are very far away from front line, so, Russians can't feel safe there.
Oleksiy Danilov said that with development of their long range missiles and drones, hitting targets even at 1500 km distance is no longer a problem.

It's unbeleavable that nobody isn't talking about today's games... Fun things started and we have some upsets. I already said that Latvia and Slovenia looks understimated too much, so, their wins didn't surprised me that much. But what Brazil did against Canada is huge upset.
So happy not just about Lithuania win, but also how confident we played against elite team Greece, it was difficult to predict that we will win by 25 points. We're in 1/4 final already, don't want to get hyped too much, but I think we are capable to beat USA, after I saw how Montenegro played against them. Monenegro forced USA to play serious until very end. And Montengro managed to do it with 22 turnovers.
Italy made another upset by beating Serbia. At one moment it already looked that Serbia will run away, they already had 16 points lead. But Italy made comeback with amazing Fontechio performance (30 points). There was some chaos in the end, but ot's typical thing for Pozzecco team
Latvia - win against current World Champions is serious statement. And they done it without injured Bertans!
Puerto Rico win against Dominican Republic probably can be counted as upset too. Seems that both teams forgot about defense, scored 199 points combined. This time 39 points of KAT wasn't enough for a win.
Brazil win against Canada probably is biggest upset in tournament so far. And Brazil did it basically without 3-pointers. So, Canada is vulnerable too. Now situation in this group before last round looks crazy interesting with all 4 teams having 3 wins.

There can't such thing like "must post in local boards". Well, unless you don't know English. Actually, huge part of forum members don't have their local board because English is their native language. Another part of members also don't have local boards because they comes from small countries and there is no dedicated board for their language. And some local boards isn't active at all, so, actively posting there is like talking with yourself.
You can post in locals or not, it's your choice.
864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 31, 2023, 10:41:56 PM
These 17-32 placement games is such pointless thing. I know that teams that fighting for spot in Olympics, but most of games is just unwatchable. I'm sure that teams like France want that tournament would end faster for them, but their humiliation continues.

Finally fun things begins. Can't wait to watch Lithuania - Greece game. I'm a bit surprised that we are quite heavy favorites against Greece, but probably it's logical, we won our games by 25 points in average, including against quite solid Montenegro team. While Greece, ok, don't look at thei game with USA, but they struggled a lot against weak New Zeland. In general, it's do or die game for both team.
In other games we have very clear favorites, but IMO Latvia (vs Spain) and Slovenia (against Australia) is understimated a bit too much.
865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: August 31, 2023, 10:30:48 PM
Brugge - Osasuna, what a great game, true roller-coaster. At one point Osasuna were already leading 0:2 and such result was enough for them, but in 2nd half Brugge made response with 2 goals and they earned spot in group stage. Legia - Midtjylland was also good game, made not that many moments, but lot of drama and penalty shootout. And after penalties Legia goes to group stage.
Interesting fact - after loss to Besiktas, it's first time in 18 years when Dynamo Kyiv failed to reach group stage of UEFA tournament. Probably such outcome isn't surprising, in recent years they went down a lot.
866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: August 31, 2023, 10:20:53 PM
Dinamo is knocked out from Sparta, and Aris scored 6 goals against Slovan, who would see that coming
Maybe Aris win wouldn't be biggest surprise, but in what way they did it, probably even their biggest fans didn't expected to see Aris winning 6:1. While Dinamo had one their leg in group stage, but wasting 2 goals lead is big failure.
After all, Sheriff eliminated Klaksvik as expected, but it was close game and I don't regret avoid betting on it. Did anyone watched Ajax - Ludogorets game? It's very strange to see Ajax making 0 shots on target in whole game at home and losing against team like Ludogorets. Though. it doesn't matters much as everything was decided in first game. Zorya were not far from sending game to extra time, but Slavia scored late goal and Czechia will have 2 teams in EL group stage.
867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: August 31, 2023, 09:49:48 AM
Probably most interesting game today is Aberdeen - Hacken, first leg ended 2:2, as in most other pairs leading teams have at least 2 goals advantage. It looks like on of these 50/50 games, but I'm going with Aberdeen to qualify. Saw few their games, they're looking solid, while I don't trust Scottish club in Europe, remember Rangers performance yesterday. Also, going with Olympiacos and Qarabag ML today.
I skip betting on Sheriff - Klaksvik game. Logic says that Sheriff should win, but I don't want to write-off Klaksvik.
868  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitskins upgraded their platform and I lost over 22000 affiliates on: August 30, 2023, 10:53:28 PM
Oh, I'm very sorry to read what happened, but I'm afraid that not much can be done. From their ToS, they had right to make changes to affiliate program, so, they have done nothing against their own rules. Unfortunately, some business act in shady way and don't respect their customers.
What you can do now? You can start building everything from scratch, but there is not guarantee that nothing similar won't happen again in future. Or you can spreading word about what happened to you on forums and social media that other people would know how this service is acting.

I despise basketball with every fibre of my being, over 2 meter high, over 100 kg people getting fouls for bare touches. Who needs that  Grin
Well, at least they don't pretend that they're dying after foul like we have in football (insert rolling Neymar GIF) Cheesy

Still, this is something that cannot be accepted and all of those that wrote only Hernangomez (myself included) won't get a point if he reaches the top 5.
Both brothers are starters and former NBA players - so we cannot give any leeway here. Stupid mistake from my side - but what can you do.
We have similar situation 2nd week in a row. I'm not saying that it should be imposed rule about it, but if there several players with same surname playing in tournament, you should write at least first name letter of player that you pick.
Imagine situation if both Bogdanovic is playing, they're not even from same country. Bojan is from Croatia, Bodan is Serbian and I always confuse them
870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 30, 2023, 09:57:29 PM
It already looked that New Zeland can make upset against Greece. At one point they had 14 points lead, but when you let your opponent to score 33 points in 4th quarter, there can't be talk about win and spot in next round.
Tomorrow we will have pointless 17-32 placement games, what is waste of time IMO. While fun things and real World Cup will start on Friday.

That's why I wrote "small basketball nations" . It makes some sense for nations that don't have a large variety of strong players to naturalize 1 guy to be able to compete.
If teams with high population counts do this I can't respect that. Do your job and develop you own players instead of hiring some.
Teams like Germany, Italy, France, and so on don't do things like this, especially not with money involved.
In Germany this is not allowed. A player must have at least German roots to be able to change their passport to the German one and compete for our national team.
Looks that some participants of World Cup started raising questions about current system, like Davis Betans from Latvia
Quote
I'm extremely proud of our country. We have our values and we want to have every single Latvian on the team; every single one that has the chance to play for the national team. From the 12-man roster, all 12 will always be Latvian as long as I'm playing. I can guarantee you that. And I mean born and raised Latvian, not with a given passport.
https://basketnews.com/news-193932-davis-bertans-reveals-ideal-career-finale-stance-towards-naturalized-players-in-latvia.html
Or Angola coach Pep Claros Canals
Quote
We can sign an import like most of the national teams and maybe we're gonna score more 3s," Canals said. "But I don't believe this is correct, and I really think that FIBA must stop this as soon as possible. Otherwise, in some years, there will be no local product. Each country needs to develop their own players. This is what I think. There are players that don't even speak the language of the country that they represent. There are countries which have seven, eight player that were born outside that country.
https://www.espn.com/basketball/story/_/id/38282727/angola-coach-pep-claros-canals-hits-naturalization-costly-fiba-world-cup-loss
Couldn't agree more with them and I have huge respect for countries who use only their own players.
871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Prelim Qualifiers on: August 30, 2023, 09:44:15 PM
Score 5-1 now Cheesy PSV really went on a rampage at the Philips Stadium.
The second half was like a nightmare for the rangers as they kept getting pounded and had already lost momentum after 3 early goals which makes them even more devastated now.
With this result it looks like we already know who the teams will qualify because looking at the time that is almost over not only for PSV alone ensures to be in the group phase because other clubs also Copenhagen and Antwerp ensure they are in the Champions League following Braga, Galatasaray and Young Boys who qualified yesterday.

Hmmm Copenhagen conceded the ball after I wrote this  Undecided
But the aggregate is still 2-1 and the clock is now at the 90th minute with only extra time left.
And after Rangers scored their goal, I thought that they have chance for comeback. But it took just few minutes for de Jong to score his team 3rd goal and end all Rangers dreams. Rangers didn't looked that bad to lose so big, but own goal that they scored was something awful. WTF Goldoson and Butland were doing?
So, I think it's safe to say that there were no big upsets in playoff round and favorites managed to reach group stage.

Today, someone smoke in the wrong place in Murmansk according to some yet unconfirmed news.
And now there is big drone attack onnPskov airport, there is reports about 4 damaged Il-76 transport planes
https://t.me/shot_shot/56299
Interesting part that Pskov isn't somehwere close to Ukraine, but nearby to Russian border with Latvia and Estonia.
Also, another Mi-8 made it's last flight today:

Already next year, Zelensky will have to show the whole world how to properly conduct free democratic elections in wartime. Grin
Last time when I checked, Ukraine laws don't allow to make ellections and change constitution under martial law.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Prelim Qualifiers on: August 29, 2023, 10:20:24 PM
Tomorrow expecting PSV win against Rangers in regualr time. Copenhagen looks like significant favorite against Rakow, especially after win in 1st leg away. But expected a bit lower odds for their win. AEK - Antwerp game looks very difficult to predict, everything can happen there.

Galatasaray didn't play well tonight but they were lucky.
Molde played well but they were not lucky. They conceded an early goal and were demoralized.

Galatasaray went to the groups, let's see which group will go and who will be matched.
Yeah, that early goal was big hit for Molde, but they managed to recover. I would say that Galatasaray played with fire a bit. If not VAR, 2nd Molde goal would be counted and game would go to extra time. Fortunately for me, Gala few minute later after that scored their 2nd goal, won the game ans saved my bet.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 29, 2023, 10:03:59 PM
Lithuania won against Montenegro quite confident and so far everything goes as planned for us. Now we are going to face Greece and USA in next round. No chance against USA while game against Greece will be like a final for us.
As much as I love Latvia, but Canada simply is different level. There was good fight in 1st half, but 2nd left no questions and Canada looks just scary. As expected, Japan didn't made another uspet and Australia goes to next round in confident way.
France were really shameful today, loss against Lebanon would be cherry on top of their performance, but it didn't happened...

These guys are getting paid?
In other countries it’s an honor to play for your national team, there would never be any payment. Of course there would be some sort of bonus if you win a medal or something, as a motivation, and the federation pays for insurance ( as requested for example by the NBA) but other than that there is no money involved.

It’s really sad to see that this is actually happening and I guess some other small basketball nations have a similar approach to motivate their stars to play.

That's not 100% true. Probably more than half teams in this World Cup have naturalized players in their squad. Usually it's Americans who get citizenship of Jordan, Montenegro, Finland and etc. And they're payid very well to play for these national teams. IMO, it's flawed system when country can hire random player who have no relations with that country. Few years ago Slovenia hire Mike Tobey - guy who never been in Slovenia and have no idea where exactly this country is located.
875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 28, 2023, 11:13:25 PM
Congratulations to Cape Verde and South Sudan with their first ever World Cup wins. Well deserved. New Zeland - Jordan was fun game, especially Rondae Hollis-Jefferson 39 points performance. Though it wasn't enough for Jordan to win. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tI1YnQXzNyU Good comment under video which summarizes Mamba style performance:
Quote
Man moves like Kobe, wears Kobe's shoes and number, wears an arm band, and the loose jersey. Feels like Kobe's still playing.
Tomorrow there isn't many games that really matters. Japan made big upset by kicking out Finland, but I don't see them making something similr against Australia.
876  Economy / Gambling / Re: Whats happening with Betnomi? on: August 28, 2023, 11:02:40 PM
this will be a lesson for Betnomi users to play on truly trusted platform sites, at least casinos that are active in their platform campaigns every time. sporting events for example being a partner or sponsor would be great, because it looks like casino sites like that have big money and are not scammers.
It's true, especially when there was some red flags about Betnomi in past, but in general, nobody didn't paid attention to it. They managed to hide contraversies and make good reputation by sponsoring various prediction pools, making some promotions and giveaways.

This is why we don't have to always keep our funds in a casino mostly when we make big wins. Those people that trusted this casino and have left almost all there winnings there hoping that one day, they will accumulate more profits and withdraw there funds are the ones that are complaining too hard about the casino.
I don't like to keep big money on gambling platforms, but when it comes to gambling, especially betting, it's simply inevitable that you have to keep more or less significant money on your ballance. Betnomi was far from my main websites where I make bets, but I still lost at least $100.
I'm wondering, does anyone still believes that they will comeback after scheduled maintenance?
877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League - Liga Portugal 2023/24 on: August 28, 2023, 10:40:16 PM
Of the three, I think Sporting will have the most complicated game.
Famalicão has been playing well, and could cause difficulties for Sporting. Although I am of the opinion that Sporting has all the conditions to win.
After all, all favorites have difficult games, but it seems that Porto game was most difficult one. They were down 1:0 until 90th minute against Rio Ave when penalty in favour of Porto was given and few minutes later Marcano scored goal which let his team to win.
I barely can remember when there was so many close games in Liga Portugal. I would like to think that small clubs have done step ahead, but reality is that favorites si still far away from playing their best football.
878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: August 28, 2023, 10:32:16 PM
Rayo Vallecano 0:7 Atletico -what was that? After perfect start with 6 points and 0 goals conceded, I expected that Rayo will give challenge for Atletico. But that was something brutal. I can't remember when last time I saw Atletico scoring 7 goals. While Rayo, I still remember when less than 10 years ago they conceded 70 goals against Real Madrid.
BTW, what's wrong with Superbru this season? Almost every time when we have late evening games, it still shown live few hours after it and points aren't credited. Seems that Superbru admin is going to sleep early...
879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 27, 2023, 11:12:25 PM
The problem with the fully wet tires is not the tires themself but the spray of water caused by the high speed.
The tires work greatly with high water on the track.

F1 is working on a solution, on a fender to add when the rain its.

Don't ask me how they gonna doing it.
I mean they are taking these tyres to tracks all around the world, but it barely get used even if there is rain, this is what I mean useless. Probably itworks great, though, it wouldn't protect from aquaplaning if there is literally river on the track.
Making tyres that don't spray water - I'm wondering how they are going to make something what goes against physics.

Finally my first win this season. I'm still last, but it was win against one of my direct opponents, so called 6 points game and I got significantly closer. Didn't expected that I will get point for snooker question after picking O'Sullivan.
Not easy basketball question in next round. It's quite typical thing to predict who will have biggest PPG average, not total points scored, but it's not big difference in general. For this question it's worth waiting almost until deadline to know exactly which teams will play in 2nd round. We already have some big upsets, like France eliminated after 1st round.
