861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Let's find out which gambling game is the most played among our community... on: June 30, 2023, 01:39:21 PM
This poll is purely for fun, I would like to hear your opinion on the best gambling games out there, and I wonder which games are the most popular in our community. I am sure there are numerous less-known gambling games played around the world,  so if you choose "Other," please specify the game in the comments section below, and I will add it to the poll.

Let's vote and see which games we find most exciting, entertaining, or rewarding. Smiley
Sports Betting especially Football has no rival in term of gambling in my community the fact that most of the people are ardent supporters of different clubs in Europe even make soccer betting more popular, though few of them do visit gambling shop or Casinos to play Poker, moreso majority of them visit betting shop to stake while a betting slip is usually given to them while few of us uses online bet App, however these are majority its like 90% of the total number of gamblers in the community bet on soccer in shops, now that soccer season had ended in major league across Europe, there is a temporary halt in gambling activities.

Mount is a decent player but I really don't see how he fits in their team. They need central midfielders, they have way too many players that play attacking midfield or on the flanks.

I'm glad that Liverpool dodged the bullet here - because the same thing applies to us as well. Mount is good, but where would he play?

I really like that we're closing in on a deal for Szoboszlai though. That guy can be a top class player, and 60 mil euros sounds like a fair price.
Mason mount is an attacking midfielder and a versatile player thus he will be play more advance role on the pitch a role usually played by Christian Eriksen whose performance dropped towards the end of last season after coming back from an injury, honestly €60 mil is a decent price tag considering the huge sign on fee paid for English players, Erik ten Hag knew why  he signed Mount he a player who can hold possession as well create scoring chances for a striker his versatility on the field will enable the manager to switch formation in matches if situation warrant such a tactical change.

864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 29, 2023, 11:39:13 PM
Only those who invest without proper knowledge could consider this as a gambling but those who study and analyze it call it as trading.
There is a huge difference between gambler and trader when it comes to crypto investment, trader's have skills and invest thorough chart reading while gamblers are the one's who invest through news or FOMO.
Truly that is why a lot of people who doesn't know much about Bitcoin continue to regard it as another form of gambling, it's very unfortunate that some newbies in crypto in their bid to earn quick money invested their hard earn money in crypto when the price had peaked based on FOMO and on verge of a massive reverse or correction consequently resulted to losing part of their investment thus these are the category of people that always regard crypto as gambling, however skilled investors and traders always trade or invest at the appropriate time when the price is low by utilizing DCA thereafter hodl there coins till when the market is bullish.

I love the job Mikel Arteta is doing with the team, since his arrival he has changed the team’s mentality and impacted a new system that has shown to be good and productive and efficient. Three seasons ago we wouldn’t have imagined Arsenal will cough out a whopping £106 million for a single player, this just shows how much influence he commands at the club at the moment. It is unfortunate their quest for the league trophy was unsuccessful last season but they did their considering the quality of players Manchester City has at their disposal. Arsenal are looking to try again next season with Arteta making good additions to the squad.

He has brought about some good change in the club. It's really unfortunate that they couldn't finish first place after holding onto the position for a while and they had also looked good for the trophy. This new season would be really competitive but I believe Arteta is trying to put in place some new and improved tactics and players that would weather the storm.

Of course he would have some level of influence in the club; he had a very good run in the just concluded season and he would be pretty much given what he needs in order to perform even better.
It would be interesting seeing Arsenal in the champions league. It's hard to predict their fate at the moment but it would surely be an excitingly season.
Arsenal are looking at a bright future with Arteta, the game scheme and tactics used by Arteta have made the quality of Arsenal game much improved. Last season ended in disappointment for Arsenal, after managing to top the table for a long time, they failed to win the EPL title at the end of the season.
In an effort to prevent the same mistakes from happening again next season, Arsenal has allocated large funds to bring in quality players in the transfer market. Arteta is trying to shape Arsenal into a stronger team, they are also trying to bring in Declan Rice so they can survive in the Champions League.
The unfortunate loss of the title trophy by Arsenal towards the end of last season calls for strengthening of the squad this season, though the club had so far spent huge funds on signing of two quality players which is a welcome development though a bit expensive I hope those signings will improve team next season because most of the other EPL clubs are also strengthening their squad too, meanwhile I commend Arteta for improving the team especially last season even when the team wasn't given any chances of clinching top 4 spot yet against all odds rose and up their game unfortunately and narrowly lost the title Man City, I hope that the team will perform better next season.
866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 29, 2023, 03:16:32 PM

Havertz is a done deal for Arsenal officially. Chelsea are still not in profit in this deal though considering how much money they spend on his transfer before - €80m. But at least they managed to prevent a huge loss for themselves. His market value has dropped significantly meanwhile and I would have never expected him to be signed for this much money honestly.

I wonder why Arsenal were okay to spend €75m in total for Havertz. Chelsea didn't make him play in his natural position mostly maybe. But we still don't know how beneficial he would be for Arsenal even though I wouldn't expect Arsenal to do the same as Chelsea.

Arsenal are about to spend a huge sum this summer considering Rice signing also. I hope Havertz and Rice both show a really impressive performance in the new season.

Havertz is an amazing player and showed good games in Chelsea when they won the champions league. Last season his form dropped but i still dont think he is worth 70mil. Maybe between 30-40 mil but this is a huge amount and Arsenal is just throwing money around and this is wierd for this club because they didnt due this in the last couple of seasons.
Honestly £65m is too expensive for Havertz, I think we should start to question how Arsenal had been throwing money into the transfer market recklessly, £170m so far spent on two players this season with more players are expected to be signed, though Arteta wanted to avoid or repeat the same mistake of losing the title towards the end of last season due to lack of quality and depth in the team thus necessitated the need to buy quality players to beef up their squad especially their midfield which wasn't formidable enough last season, with Havertz - Rice - Ødegaard in the midfield next season the team should be able to match and compete with Man City and other top clubs.
867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: June 28, 2023, 06:19:10 PM
Arsenal are serious about getting Declan Rice’s signature and have had two of their bids rejected already, I’m also shocked how much West Ham United are requesting for Declan Rice’s signature and it also reminded me Harry Maguire was signed for a whopping £80m plus and he is not even performing half the expectations for an 80million Euros worth player. Declan Rice is a good player but £100million is just too much to be demanding for a player from West Ham United.

It seems, Manchester City are not too serious about bringing in this midfielder owned by West ham. because, it is not difficult for Manchester City to compete with Arsenal for the services of the midfielder. City, have financial abundance if they are serious. besides that, City is the way for Declan Rice to win trophies in various competitions. it's just, why are they officially out of the race to bring Declan Rice to the Etihad Stadium.
I don't think Pep is too focused on recruiting him in this summer's transfer window.

Another rumor, the Mail has confirmed Arsenal will enter into fresh talks with West Ham on Wednesday about their remaining bid. if it does eventually reach the £105 million mark, Rice will become the most expensive English player of all time. Furthermore, the latest update claims that Rice will now ask West Ham to accept Arsenal's £105 million bid. I also quote a report from Romano who said, "today or tomorrow, feeling clear on all sides. Arsenal, West Ham and Rice" most likely, if this deal will be agreed by both parties. that means, Rice will play with the Gunners next season. and I just hope that what Arteta is doing is the right move.
A bbcsport news had reported that Man City had dropped out of the race to sign Declan Rice link  I think this is a relief to the gunner thus this an ample opportunity for Arsenal to quickly reach an agreement with West Ham, however it was reported that Arsenal wanted an instalment payment for the midfielder which West Ham outrightly rejected I think that is the only issue that is needed to be sort out which was delaying their agreement, though West Ham chairman David Sullivan is in full support of the departure of Declan Rice to a new club hopefully I few days time both club will an agreement while Declan Rice will also agree person term with his new club.
868  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to use the Bear Flag pattern and what to look for? on: June 28, 2023, 09:30:42 AM

I appreciate the positive comment, thanks.

Every trader understands that it's impossible to predict market moves with 100% certainty. However, using technical indicators can help us make better decisions. These indicators and patterns give us clues about how buyers and sellers behave in the market. For instance, with a bear flag, when prices consolidate and volume is low, it means neither buyers nor sellers have control. But when there's a breakout, it suggests that sellers are gaining momentum again, giving us an idea of how to position ourselves.

I also like to say briefly that when there is breakouts , it also depends on the strategy of the trader or type of trader. Like if a trader is a daily trader, he should be careful of the breakout and not be carried away because at every breakout there is correction and such correction may take time to continue the breakout position. Some traders like swingers or daily trader may feel no reversal after the breakout and they may be caught on the web of correction if they don't use stop loss. Breakout only means a directional position but not that it may not change from time to time within the moment.
Personally I like trading the breakout of a Flag pole however I prefer price retouching or pullback to the outer line of the flag pole and watch out for Price Action for possible price continuation something like exhaustion on a bullish or bearish candle that touched the line before pulling the trigger for a possible long or Short order with reference to the 1 hour or 2 hour timeframe definitely anot daily timeframe which I believe trading it breakout will lead to a massive drawdown if the price undergoes correction, however multi timeframe analysis is also very helpful to determine the trend of the market.

According the report some media, Arsenal have submit bid offer 100 million euro for West Ham United to sign Declan Rice, its official bid from Arsenal for fighting race with Manchester City announced interest with West Ham United captain team Declan Race.  Looks excited with Arsenal bid offer 100 million euro and depend with Manchester City will bid above 100 million euro or back from fighting to sign Declan Rice.

Arsenal looks confident for reach deal agreement with Declan Rice and West Ham United due their bid offer 100 million euro, I don't sure Manchester City will give up because they have loss Gundogan and Declan Rice could be best option for replacing midfielder position empty in Manchester City.

Who will win for signing Declan Rice Arsenal or Manchester City?
The latest bid by Arsenal of €105m for Declan Rice is very reasonable though one of the condition and term of payment made by Arsenal was that the sign-on term  of payment will span five years, while West Ham is demanding for payment in 2025 with this last offer I think Declan Rice should proceed to negotiate for personal terms and medicals else Man City might come with a better offer and instant payment because the race to sign him had become very competitive, personally I prefer Declan Rice to sign for Arsenal to enable the club to be formidable next season having narrowly lost the EPL title to Man City.
870  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Luck is what you need in gambling but you have to get to work with trading on: June 27, 2023, 08:22:45 PM
I have read many discussions about trading and gambling, some people have rather joined the two as gambling. That is not totally true. For traders who agree that trading is same with gambling, they are just lazy to go into work and adopt the ethical way to trade and those are:

1. To cut your losses and increase your profit: You can conveniently do this by using stop loss or take profit adjustment or trailing stop but in gambling, is one straight end once you have gone on the bet, you either loss all you bet or win or you bet for.

Obviously there is nothing like Stop Loss in gambling unlike trading where a Stop loss can be placed at a few distance from the last swing, Resistance or Support with a specified Take profit, you can place a buy or limit order this is not applicable to gambling.
2. A trader can adjust his risk appetite by reducing or adjusting his lots size to protect his account and determine the appropriate leverage or but in gambling, a bettor has to go with the odds provided for the gay. He can't reduce or increase it against the fixed odds.

This another important aspect of trading risk reduction is very helpful when a trader account is getting low or nearing margin call or liquidation a trader can reduce the lot size or leverage thus with another opportunity to recover losses which isn't available with gambling .

3. Traders use analytical tools to determine what market price will be and wait for appropriate timing but gamblers play by the rules of casino.

With proper chart analysis trader a trader will in most cases have an edge over the market because trading analysis is very helpful in determining price direction of course there are different types of analysis for traders.
Trading is not gambling. You require luck in gambling but you require work in trading.

What is your thought.

Unfortunately some newbie traders don't want undergo the rigorous journey of learning how to trade they rather prefer gambling which they believe is the easiest means of earning quick money.

If this is for real nobody would have seen it coming!

Liverpool seems now to be the hottest candidate to sign Mbappe, but what the heck is going on? Klopp has been asked often times and he said that it would never ever be possible for Liverpool to bid for Mbappe. Never, he emphasized! Cheesy Now there are many sources that say Liverpool is about to pull the ultimate trigger. I can't believe it, but I would like it. Mbappe as the leader of a whole new project at Anfield Road. This would be amazing. it would be something different than Manchester City and Real Madrid. Even though Liverpool is huge, still nobody would have expected it. That makes it so interesting.
The contract issue with regards to Mbappe is getting very interesting and its definitely going to be a two horse race between Real Madrid and Liverpool, both clubs purported bid to sign Mbappe and I am very sure both clubs are ready to table their offer, Mbappe had recently issued a statement that he is a long time admirer of Liverpool while Real Madrid had also offered and reserved their number nine shirt for Mbappe, from my own point of view I think Mbappe will prefer signing for Real Madrid because it's been long the club had indicated their interest to sign him and playing alongside quality and experience players will strengthen him to be more profilic in front of goal and playing UCL is another advantage.

Skynews has been reported that if city's bid already rejected by westham. Finally, arsenal has not become the only victim from westham. Manchester city shall have put more value compared to the arsenal.
Westham will not let rice go out without 100m on westham's hand. City must pay such amount to get him from westham as soon as possible.

Quote
Manchester City's £90m bid has been turned down by West Ham; Premier League champions had offered £80m up front, plus £10m in add-ons; Arsenal remain in talks with West Ham after two club-record bids were rejected; Hammers are expecting a third bid from the Gunners
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/12910259/declan-rice-manchester-citys-90m-bid-for-midfielder-rejected-by-west-ham

I hope city will try to increase its bid as soon as possible. That kind of strategy won't work toward a club that was seeking huge amounts of money.
West Ham is insisting on £100m for Declan Rice shows that English players are absolutely overpriced the club wanted to cash out from his sale, Man City offered £80m with £70m instant payment yet that offer was rejected by West Ham the offer is even better than that of Arsenal who offered £75m payment in four instalments, though Arsenal is will launch their third bid any moment from now  personally I think whichever club between Arsenal and Man City that eventually sign him must have had taken a gamble because he didn't worth that value beside there are quality and better midfielders whose worth is less that of Declan Rice yet can offer better or equal service on the field of play.

MODRIC REJECTS A VERY LUCRATIVE DEAL FROM SAUDI ARABIA
I saw this tweet from Fabrizio Romano about Luka Modric turning down an offer to play in Saudi Arabia which according to him it's one of the biggest deal ever in football. He's already 37 years old and he should begin to accept reality that he's no more young and energetic. I don't really watch most of Real Madrid matches but I did watch their game against Manchester City in the champions league, and Modric was a shadow of himself in both legs. It is still the player's decision to choose where he wants to ply his trade but I feel he's already a club legend and has won everything he needs to win at Madrid and would have accepted the deal. What do you think guys? Share your thoughts.
He'll be legend always! Modric had received an offer to play in the Saudi Arabia league, but he decided to turn it down. Instead, 37-year-old Luka Modric signed a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid. He'd absolutely love to retire there, that would be great achievement for him. Not every great player chances to retire at their peak, while Modric might be one of them.
He is absolutely a fantastic player who still play actively  at 37 and won all the major trophies with Real Madrid, I very am delighted to hear the news of his contract extension because I want to watch the performance and combination of Modric, Bellingham, Camavinga and Kross in Real Madrid midfield I think both Bellingham and Camavinga will continue to learn from the wealth of his experience and looking forward to yet another season of clear cut passes from the footballer, I will also like to commend him for staying at Real Madrid despite the lucrative and juicy offers coming from the Saudi Arabian clubs.

Cast your bet in a match that have yet not started or bet when the game is already live?
It must have been asked before but in case new sports bettors have not yet read such thread, reply back your opinion about it.

Found myself losing when the money line changes from 1.75 to 4.35 as the game began. But sometimes when I also wait for the game to start, it changes to worse such from 1.75 to 1.10
I prefer placing a bet before the beginning of the game immediately after my pre-match analysis with a target of 2.0 to 4.0, I place a my bet and close my App till the final game, though I occasionally bet on first half draw, Strong team to score in first half etc, all those bets are played before the commencement of the match, I never play a live bet when the game had already started because I don't have much knowledge of it, though I use to win as well as lose some of my bets, however I hope to start live betting on inplay live games beginning from next season  I will research on how to play bet on those inplay games and likely chances of winning the bets.

According to a bbcsport report Chelsea Kalidou Koulibaly had signed for a Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal at fee reportedly worth £20m, recall Kalidou Koulibaly was signed by the Blues from Napoli last July having established himself as one of the best defender in Europe with the hope of playing for the next five season for the club, unfortunately that hope was dashed by his club abysmal performance in the league and UCL, he is the second Chelsea player heading to Saudi Pro league following the departure of Kante to Al-Ittihad and some Chelsea players like Hakim Ziyech and Mendy are also linked with a move to the Saudi Pro league in a bid by Chelsea to trim their squad for Pochettino to rebuild the team.

Angel Di Maria is returning to Benfica. He will play in Portugal again after 13 years. There was a lot of news about him, I wanted him to come to Beşiktaş, but the work on this issue was weak. We know that Di Maria can still play high-level football. He can win the championship in Portugal. How successful they will be in Europe depends a bit on the luck of the draw. Benfica has always been one of the strong teams. The contract will be for 1 year, but can be extended depending on performance. I think Benfica made the right transfer move.
I also think so, this is the right step taken by Benfica, Angel Di Maria is still in good form but his age is no longer young making it difficult for him to compete with young players in top European teams and I think that's why he chose Play with Benfica in the next season.
for competition in the Champions League Benfica is always worth reckoning with, this is a team that has a high mentality and with the arrival of senior players who have won everything it is very possible to be able to contribute greatly to the team.
Angel Di Maria has a fulfilled career going back to Benfica his first European club he signed for 2007 to help the club that brought him into limelight is a welcome development, he had previously played for Real Madrid, Man Utd, PSG and Juventus this are big clubs in Europe, I am very sure he would move to the lucrative Saudi Arabian league club were a juicy contract would have been offered to him instead he prefers going back to Benfica to assist the club particularly the young players were his wealth of experience will be useful, I believe this a way of showing gratitude to his former club and he is likely to accept paycut.
877  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Better to have a trading knowledge than depending on signals. on: June 25, 2023, 03:09:31 PM
I lost a lot of money when I first started trading and didn't know what I was doing. I'm really stressed, and then I discovered a trading signal group to see if their signals work. When I back read, I noticed that their signals were functioning because they were posting it. It encouraged me to join, but I was still uncertain, so I extended my observation period, and then I understood that they were merely posting a signal that only works. And I'm not sure how many signals failed. That's why I made the decision to learn how to trade by participating in a mentorship program. I never regretted my decision because trading your own money is far better than depending on trading signals.
I also had a similar experience when I started trading cryptos it was a sad one because I got liquidated in few occasions while trading because I was trading via Cross and Isolated margin of course with a high leverage unfortunately I wasn't equipped with adequate knowledge and skills required to become a profitable trader, though I tried few of my strategies it's seems nothing works then, I also tried to follow trading signals unfortunately some of those signals is contradicting with my own, thereafter quit trading to learn all the necessary skills because from my research numerous hours of charting time and Price Action are some of the prerequisite needed to a become successful trader.
878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 25, 2023, 02:57:35 PM
Indeed 100 million is too expensive but based on transfermarkt.com Harry Kane has 90 million market value, I don't know if it's a decent price but generally transfer market refers to this site. You know Mo Salah with a market value 65 million, this player is older and Harry Kane records a better performance of course the value is higher I mean more than 40 million as you expected. I think Manchester United will pay for 70-80 million and offers a salary 300k per week but the final decision on Tottenham.
100 million pounds is very expensive for a striker who is already 30 years old, it is very difficult to deal at this price. It seems that Tottenham deliberately made Kane unable to win a prestigious trophy, when there was a club that could potentially sign Kane, Tottenham instead set a high value for a club that wanted to take him. Kane performance with Tottenham has been tested, he is a great striker. Tottenham shouldn't have kept Kane like this, he deserves something better than he got at Tottenham.
I prefer Kane not to renew his contract with Tottenham, he can go to any club on a free transfer and Tottenham will get nothing from Kane.

I don't think any club will risk such a huge amount on a player that had reached his peak though Harry Kane is still a brilliant striker, however can he continue to score goals consistently in seasons ahead at 30? value at 100 million pounds that is a big risk that some of the clubs are trying to avoid, meanwhile in another related news report Daniel Levy Tottenham chairman is blocking Kane to sign for Man Utd he rather prefer Real Madrid to sign him that means another drama will unfold similar to  what happened two seasons ago when Kane was reportedly keen on signing for Man City unfortunately Daniel Levy block him.
879  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The green shouldn't always be the reason to enter the market on: June 24, 2023, 12:24:27 PM
What stopped you when the price was low? don't let the sudden increase make you rush into the market- learn to control your emotions.
This mistake is mostly common to newbies or inexperience traders seeing market green triggers their emotion to enter the market and buy not minding the fact that the price is the peak and about to retrace or pullback thus the consequence is watching their entry turn Red therefore they will have to wait till the price resume or continue with the initial trend or dump massively which result to losses.

One of the challenges of some traders is that they don't know when is the right time to enter the market.  Some traders feels when the market is red it is always a wrong time to get into the market to trade. If the green should only be considered as the best time to enter the market, I think it won't always be a right decision. Going into the market when it is green is just greedy sentiment for trading.

This is where experience in trading is utilized a good trader enters the market at the beginning of the trend and target a Take Profit and exit quickly because of high volatility of price i .e a price reversal is imminent.

Sometimes when the market is red it can also be a good time to enter the market if carefully watched.  Not all green ends up with profit and not all red ends with loss too.
Traders needs to learn when is the right time to enter the market and not to judge when to enter with a particular signal.  Signals are unprecedented and may change faster than it's expected.

Truly at times when the market is green it can be profitable as well but the overall sentiment of the market will have to be bullish thus the trader will enter the market in pullbacks or reversal, however this can be achieved with knowledge in Price Action with the aid of candlestick patterns.
880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 24, 2023, 11:59:48 AM
Don't underestimate the Saudi Arabian team, now they are willing to pay big money for football stars and that will be a special attraction for players at the end of their careers.
Mohamed Salah is now 31 years old and his performance is declining, especially with Liverpool's performance last season, it is not impossible that he will be tempted by a large fee from the Saudi Arabian team.

If you look at the current Liverpool team, of course, they still really need mistakes, especially after being left by Mane and Ferminho, only their own mistakes are left for their senior strikers, but all of that is the decision of the players.
There would be no questions about Saudi influence and money in soccer but still we have many things which are not possible with these and many players still want to stay here in European clubs for their career and achievements which are not possible in Saudi League they used their first signing Ronaldo as their weapon and now trying their all way for more stars and intention from the soccer world.

Here agreed it's no all about club it's also player who want to stay here or just want millions of $ now Liverpool is also at crucial stage as they already lost their best strikers and if Mohammad Salah also gone then surely they can face disaster in their next season which could be not good for them but most chances Mohammad Salah will not go through with this all.

But believing in upright character and worthy goals of players is ignorant of the structural consequences the Saudi sports policies entail. When Saudi money keeps rising or even being at the same level, it is so tempting for players to make the decision at younger stages of their career to go to Saudi Arabia unless European clubs raise their salaries as well to make it less painful to reject offers from Saudi Arabia. While 8 million per year were enough a decade ago to keep a 20 years of age player in your club or in your league, this has already drastically changed. Bellingham and even many others ask around 20 million these days. If now the Saudi money opens new doors to new heights at the youngest ages, all the clubs have to disregard their former limits and raise salaries as well. That will make the sport more expensive for everyone and while the Saudis don't care and would subsidize it nationally, European sport becomes more expensive but entails negative consequences also for the fans. There is a a whole new dimension of the business model of transfers and salaries in the making.

Saudi Arabia pays a fortune to football players who have come to retire just like China and they try to design Saudi football with the money. If that worked the Chinese football league would be one of the best in the world. How logical it is to transfer football players who have come to the end of their careers for advertising purposes. Any football player who comes to the end of his career always accepts high offers. We understand from the success of China in football that money is not everything. Have you ever seen a football player at the beginning or peak of his career who wants to play in the Saudi League? You didn't see it because football players at the beginning or peak of their careers want to play football in Europe. Let's see if the Saudis will be able to reverse this situation or will they continue to pay fortunes to football players whose time has come to retire.

What Saudi is doing is just to revive and teach football to its population. Any player going there is going to partake in the wealth and beauty of the place.
Playing games not as serious as the English leagues with a lot of money, sounds like a good retirement option I must say.
Behind the football craze is the marketing strategy that these countries are selling to the world. It would take a lot of generations of serious players in both china and Saudi to make their leagues as interesting as the English, Champions league.
Saudi Arabian clubs purposely sign aging players from Europe to develop their home league consequently triggering a competitive league thus to build a formidable national team with quality players picked across all the clubs in the league, of course the likes of Ronaldo, Benzema, Kante, Neves etc wealth of experience will in a long run help to develop home grown players who might learn a lot from those players as well utilize and display those skills when playing for their national team, recall in the last World Cup Saudi Arabia defeated the champion Argentina in the group stage, I believe this is one of the few steps the Football administrator in the country is trying to achieve bring in competitiveness to the national team.
