UnicornFarts, I deleted your post because it did not include the comment I posted regarding the reddit link you supplied.

Omitting discussion relevant to a point portrays a biased view.

None of the premine was dumped, ever.

It was not used to buy Blocknet tokens.

And I was not aware that the premine was spent by mid-Sept until today.

I apologise - again - for our not having maintained a list of our spending of it. As the person in charge of PR, I take personal responsibility for this. I was not aware of Pizpie's statement on Reddit (and I'm not sure I was part of the team then), but I was aware of the importance of being transparent about spending.

Anyway, moving forward, we've got funding and we've got Dan's deep commitment to XC.

All's well IMO.

Classic. You must be the only one here who thinks all is well. As the head of PR, perhaps you would be able to tell us if the marketing guru from Addidas is still on the team? Do we still have some amazing marketing to look forward to or not?

Yes he's definitely still on the team.

The timeline is unchanged, and the team is still working toward it.

And the mainstream marketing will be awesome.

I do not think we've lost trust when *Dan has personally been funding XC*.

Do you get it? He's committed.

Dude.  So let me get this straight.  Dan needs to sell off all his XC stash to fund XC.

But we aren't supposed to be worried because he's spending his personal money to fund it so he's still invested even though he'll make nothing if it's successful?

If he had funding why undermine his own project by dumping all his XC stash?

If he believed in XC why not use his own money to pay expenses and keep XC so it will benefit when he's finished?

Why would he sell off all XC.  So he has nothing to gain while he spends his personal funds to finish off a project he has nothing to gain by because he sold all of his XC?

No, Dan buys XC regularly.

His own personal stash is quite distinct from the premine - as it should be. The premine was for development.

This is really bad news, looks like the mystery dumpers were the hired help.. great.. Dan has always seemed like a great guy but I think he will find this decision and the lack of transparency to be a catastrophic error of judgement... very, very sad to see this...

Back in the day would I have bought on good news knowing I was probably helping the dumpers get out.. no way....

Also synechist, you do a great job and I often praised it but I had no idea you were on the payroll, ditto teka... this really does not sit well...

You don't think it's right that I get paid?

BTW, "mystery dumpers were hired help"? I don't know what that means.

I personally have not been dumping one bit.

Whenever I've had rent to pay I'd plan ahead and sell in little amounts on an uptrend.

Did you see the price? The problem is see now for XC is how earn trust again.

No it's not.

Hi all

I can now give some clarity on the status of XC's premine:

- The premine has been completely spent since mid September.

- Dan has been part-funding XC's development since day one (XChat and the multipool, among other things), and funding it entirely since Rev 2.

- Dan will continue to fund XC's development, and so nothing about the source of the funding or the pace of development will change.

- Specifically, XC's funding comes from Dan's corporation, which has pioneered IP over RF in marine environments.

- The premine was not dumped or traded for profit at any stage.

- The premine was used exclusively for paying for XC's project - that is, for Teka and I to work, for websites, PR expenses, the ATM deal, etc.

XC is, and will continue to be, Dan's baby. He has personally invested over 1000 hours of his time into it.
Since it's been developed at his own expense for some time, you have good reason to believe that he won't just lose interest.
His personal stake is significant, and this serves to increase his commitment.

Thanks synechist, but it would have been nice to hear this from Dan himself.

What incentive does Dan have to continue this project now?  If Dan has no investment in XC, this project is now a loss for him.  What incentive does he have to put money into a project that he will not get a return on his investment from (because he has no investment, other than his "reputation")?

Dan's incentive is his conviction about the value of XC's tech.

Add this to the resources he's sunk into XC, and you've got a keeper.

so once I get blocks from bittrex do i keep them in wallet to earn money or how do i earn money  Huh or I HAVE TO get assets from NHZ Im confused any answers please thanks  Undecided

Keep them in your wallet until the Blocknet launches.

At that point you'll be able to redeem your BLOCK for NHZ assets.

So in order to earn anything I HAVE TO get assets from NHZ??

Yes, that's the plan at present. Fees will be paid in BLOCK to NHZ asset-holders.

For now, your coins will stake.

ok and 1) you can get nhz assets only with blocks, is that right?
2) Also what is nhz asset and what assets to buy?
3)will any asset do?

NHZ assets are free creatable by anyone. Not any asset will do for BLOCK.

We will create a specific asset at the right time.

For more info on NHZ, check them out, and also NXT, because the tech is the same (pretty much the only different is that NHZ has fairer distribution).

So you said at the beginning you have a part of the xbridge as code... How about publishing that on github?
Why no answer?

We're considering releasing some code as "proof-of-concept."

I'll update you if there are any developments on this front.

I'm confused  Huh  I bought some BLOCK from the ICO on Bittrex yesterday and I was under the impression that there are still days to go before trading is live. Yet I just found out that the coin is being traded on Allcoin ?? It's even below ICO price atm  Huh How is that even possible?

https://www.allcoin.com/trade/BLOCK_BTC

Is this the same coin? If so can someone explain what's going on? Thanks.

We've been in contact with them and as far as I know they've now disabled trading until the end of the ITO.

Is Bter the only exchange where Block is tradeable?

It's not tradable on Bter. They've also disabled selling until the end of the ITO.

We're pretty excited about this. When the Blocknet launches it will benefit both the participating coins and all of crypto.

HI I realize this has probably been asked a few times but how does it benefit the other coins?

It benefits Blocknet-enabled coins directly.

It benefits crypto in general by:
- making it hard for scams to compete, since they won't be part of the Blocknet
- providing an open framework for cryptocurrencies to deliver services
- other coins coming onto the Blocknet
899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XC][XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy Platform / Encrypted XChat / Pos on: October 30, 2014, 03:15:55 PM
are there any plans how to handle this hard price drop?

Maybe the XC team should think about open sourcing the code as the marketcap of XC seems to adopt the price of the other blocknet coins.
I think investors loose trust in this closed coin. At least an open discussion should be started what the majority of the investors think.
Opensourcing darkcoin didn't lead to a price drop for DRK and to no copy&paste clones at least none that I am aware of.

I stated this before that i don't think it's a good idea to join forces with coins that had a that small marketcap but as it seems soon we
will have an equal marketcap which is the worst thing that could have happend. We lost more than 20% just for today ...

I see no reason for XC to take on a marketcap of other Blocknet coins.

Its superior tech has supported its price, and joining the Blocknet does not diminish its value. On the contrary, it enhances its value and will only make XC's leadership more visible as users get to try out XC's services in comparison to others.

So what could be causing the drop?

My guess is that this is a temporary phenomenon caused by the inability to sell XC for BLOCK. After the Blocknet ITO is done (and possibly gets pumped) there's reason to believe that coins will flow back into participating currencies and XC's price will rise somewhat.

Is there something wrong with the wallet?

No?

Then it's a non-issue.

It doesn't matter whether it's a fork of another coin or not because it works and therefore meets the criteria of the ITO. Its only purpose is to allow holders of BLOCK to store their tokens while the technology is developed to exchange them for NHZ assets which is the ultimate intention of the tokens.

It's not a non-issue because it shows lack of serious effort from development team, not to put single feature they are advertising in that wallet, rather they decided to release the simple clone. You have a responsibility to the community, that's what I was trying to explain. It's not the issue if you will walk away with 1M US$ of other people money and achieve nothing, problem is your failure will make every other attempt of funding the development this way much, much harder. You are not alone on this world, and your potential failure will have serious consequences. Show me on thing that was done about this project that required some effort, pretty graphics doesn't count. That's why the cloning wallet is an issue, even if it is working as it should.

I get your perspective.

On the other hand, I do not think we'd significantly lower the risk of failure by putting out a whitepaper.

Why? Because describing how you'd do something isn't the same as actually doing it. Projects can fail for multiple reasons, including unexpected oversights in the whitepaper. In fact, it may turn out that whitepapers can lead to overconfidence in a technical proposal. So, to summarise, I don't think we'd lower the risk with a whitepaper. Better to do what we've done and go with a track record (the Xnode protocol).

In any case, what's done is done. People seem to think the Blocknet is a great idea, and there's no changing the plan now.
