There is still much profit to be made here.  You may not be able to buy as much XCR as you sold, but in few months, the price of XCR will be so high that you will have forgotten your little loss.

Long time posters in this forum may remember way back when I posted that this coin will be like watching your neighbors husband come home early from work while the wife is screwing the gardener.  

WELL........ that pretty much describes today so far.

BTW, I see a SELL just went thru at 1500.  You may be able to get in without much loss.

I recommend you place BUY orders at 1500, 1490, 1480, 1470, etc.   Spread out the amount for averaging.

It was an editting of the blockchain, not a rollback. 

Off topic a little.

Bter exchange was hacked for 45million NXT and 112BTC.  All hell has broken loose in the past few hours there as the herd mentality took over and a massive SELL ALL COINS AT ANY COST attitude took over the account holders.

Bter even paid the hacker 100BTC more to return the NXT.  He failed to return the NXT.  More panic selling........

Then cooler heads prevailed with the NXT devs, who agreed to erase the transaction from the blockchain.  This was not a rollback, but an erasure of one transaction, requiring a download of the new editted blockchain by all NXT wallets.

Well, I wake up after a nights sleep and the planes have hit the towers again.

After catching up on the last 5 pages of posts written in the last 6 hours, I would like to point out several items:

1 ) CRYPTI can survive this, as a coin, because no pre-sale investor in XCR has truly lost any money, yet.   Some have sold at less than the high at 2500, but still made BTC on the sale. That is called "investing".  If you bought in at 2000 and sold at 1300.... thats called trading, you pay your money and you take your chance.

2 ) The XCR devs stand to lose the most, becuz their 750 BTC is at Bter.  If Bter takes a walk, the BTC disappears.  We investors also lose our BTC invested.  We can still get our XCR from the devs directly into the wallet, but the devs will be operating without funds they were counting on from the pre-sale.  They do have 15million XCR left in the genesis block worth 150BTC at 1000 satoshi per XCR.  Not a lot by comparison, but something.

3 ) XCR can be launched on another exchange.  Since the development is now complete, the wallets would be available, and investors could buy actual coins, not tokens.  However, after losing  BTC in the first launch, who would buy in?

4 ) the maxmint investors are sitting pretty good now.

5 ) Culturally, the Chinese tend to act with a herd mentality.  Bank runs are common in Hong Kong, often started with a rumor.  Remember the iodized salt buying panic in China after the Fukushima melt down?  The price of coins on Bter is dropping due to the "sell and get out" mentality of the account holders.  

6 ) Despite world events, value always rises to the top.  If you hold something of real value, it may become momentarily worthless, but in time will regain and surpass its pre-disaster value. Example:  Gold is of little value to a thirsty man in the middle of the desert, but is of great value once that man reaches civilization.

So, my advice is to just sit tight and wait.  There is nothing you can do to help the situation, you can only make panic decisions that will hurt you.  Remember what I posted days ago about trading on emotion?

That is about $1.7 Million of NXT.  They will probably reset the block chain to the point before the hack.

They also need to use a password that isnt "passw0rd"

GOSH..... that makes me feel good.  I have been voting for three weeks now, about 10-14 votes a day and posting here asking you guys to vote as well.

It was a great effort, and hopefully it will generate some buying interest in the coin.

They are spread out all over the Northern Hemisphere

You guys have to know by now that coding software from scratch:

1 ) Always takes longer than you planned

2 ) There is always a failure to compile, making more work

3 ) There is always something you forgot to add

4 ) There is always something you have to leave out becuz it is taking too much time and delaying the project

5 ) There is always updates to write due to a security hole discovered after release

6 ) Your APP needs to get very big and in a hurry, because

      A ) If your program is good enough, and open source, there will be copycats issued almost immediately

      B ) If your programs are not open source, the copycats will take a few days longer to appear
    
      C ) If your APP is revolutionary and innovative, the BIG BOYS will try to squeeze you out.


It would have been better for XCR if the devs waited a few weeks longer, and had the software more complete before starting the bitcointalk thread.  But, it is what it is, and lets just hope that no copycats appear until XCR is in the top 10.

No mining.  Coins were sold in a pre-sale on Bter.  You can still buy some there. 

To earn coins in the future, you will need to have some coins, and the Crypti wallet.  Leaving your wallet open will allow it to verify transactions in the blockchain (forging) and you will earn a small part of a XCR.

I dont know if the took the easy way out, or if ViaCoin bought 2000 votes with a BTC.  If they did purchase votes, it would have to have been in the last hour of voting.

There are about 20 algos now in use for mined coins, and another few for coins that cannot be mined.  CoinWars only shows profitabllity for 8.  They need to get on the stick and add many other algos if they want to remain relevant:

The success of a cryptocoin all depends upon uses for it OTHER THAN TRADING FOR OTHER CRYPTOCOINS.  

Also important is that it be "idiot proof" for users, stable in its value, portable, and simple to use.  

Features such as "transaction cancel" and "transaction escrow" separate the wheat from the chaff.
