901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think China is playing a double game? on: May 24, 2023, 10:02:49 PM
We all know China banned Bitcoin and altcoin trading first. Next they went ahead and banned miners. After that they rolled out their own digital Yuan. Which I am afraid did not succed as expected by CCP. Now suddenly they are allowing HK to go ahead with crypto and become a hub of Bitcoin as well as Altcoin economy. The biggest bank in HK a few days back declared that they will support crypto.

I mean what do you guys think is going around with this decision of China. As per my understanding HK has become a shadow control colony of China. Which was not what they had promised to UK. This situation could become a problem for USA and it's allies in the future. Already we can see big companies (banks) in the US are now buying shares of Microstrategy, whereby they are indirectly investing in Bitcoin. As they now realize the potential of Bitcoin.

Does that mean China is utilizing this negative situation in the US on crypto to its favour or they are just testing the possibilities in order to regulate it. Do remember this is how China became the 2nd larget economy in just 20 years.

I'm not sure if they'll use HK as testing grounds for Bitcoin adoption or not but I'm sure China will embrace Bitcoin sooner or later. And it's going to be BIG! Remember the effect "China bans Bitcoin" FUD was causing? Imagine the same effect but in the other direction!  Grin
902  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: May 24, 2023, 09:46:10 PM
Wait, are you aware Bakhmut has fallen to the Russians? Sorry, if it was a spoiler for you. You'll probably find out next week!

The message of the head of Wagner PMC Prigozhin and Russian propagandists that their "second army of the world" after ten months of incessant attacks on the small town of Bakhmut, finally took it, does not correspond to reality. Most of Bakhmut is now indeed controlled by the Russian occupiers, but its defenders retain control over some industrial and infrastructure facilities and the private sector of Bakhmut in an area called "Airplane" in the southwestern part of Bakhmut.

You are delusional. President Zelensky has admitted Bahmut has fallen by saying "Bakhmut is only in our hearts".
https://nypost.com/2023/05/21/zelensky-bakhmut-is-only-in-our-hearts-after-ukraine-loses-control-of-destroyed-city-to-russia/

Whatever your source could be, it's at least 4-5 days old. Bakhmut is under Russians now. Period.

Quote from: Argoo
But it is too early for Russians to rejoice. Having retreated from the central part of the city, the Armed Forces of Ukraine organized a “half-boiler plan” for the invaders in Bakhmut and now they “take” the enemy into a semi-circle due to the advantage of control over the high-altitude terrain surrounding this city. The Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully bypass Bakhmut from the north and south and gradually, taking into account the dry weather, begin to implement the operational encirclement of the Russians in Bakhmut using heavy equipment. Given that the city is located in a lowland, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have the ability to actually shoot the enemy from artillery from the hills around Bakhmut, and it is rather difficult for Russians to hide in its ruins, since the city is almost completely destroyed.

Possibly, but you're not providing any source so this info is hard to verify. And I believe claims that Bakhmut had been "completely destroyed" are overestimated. Same thing happened in Mariupol but it's almost completely rebuilt now.

Quote from: Argoo
Moreover, even such a temporary success of the Russians in Bakhmut is rather doubtful. Prigozhin himself recently said that more than 20,000 of his PMCs were killed during the storming of Bakhmut: about 10,000 of its professional members and the same number of recruited prisoners from Russian colonies. But the human rights organization of Russia "Seated Rus'" claims that there were about 50 thousand prisoners recruited for the war in Ukraine, about five thousand of them received an amnesty and returned home, and over 40 thousand died in Ukraine. And recently, US President Biden pointed out that Russia lost about a hundred thousand military personnel near Bakhmut. Thus, several square kilometers of the ruins of the district center Bakhmut cost Russia very dearly. But the Russians will still need to be able to get out of Bakhmut. Prigozhin has already announced that from June 1, his PMC will leave Bakhmut and give up their positions to the regular army. He feels that this "Pyrrhic" victory may soon turn into a major defeat. So the fighting in Bakhmut continues.

Muahahaha... so you're saying 120000 Russians died there? Here's a quote from that article: "Russia has suffered more than 100,000 casualties since December fighting in the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, a White House official said Monday. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters the figure includes about 20,000 soldiers killed in combat and 80,000 wounded." So, in fact no quite: 80k have been wounded even according to this over-exaggerated casualty report and could be back in service soonish.
903  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of artificial intelligence, chat GPT on the crypto market. on: May 23, 2023, 10:50:13 PM
I see the latest rave and have had to silently partake by keeping up with the conversation as regards chat GPT introduction and sudden need to finetune it serve varying online and even offline real problems.

Coinbase Director Conor Grogan even had to explain recently how a GPT-4 helped him identify flaws that could be exploited both ways, after he dumped an Etherum contract therein.

*Is chat GPT which is the latest AI, the answer to hackers and scammers?
*Is it a policing agent that would help stabilize anonymous anomaly in the trading space thereby reducing volatility?

Relying on AI in investments or crypto is bad idea. And I'm not even talking about ChatGPT providing false information frequently. ChatGPT is a language model it's not a trading bot, crypto investment advisor AI or something similar. And of course it can't tackle hackers and spammers, because at the end of the day it's human who makes the final decision and is prone to fraud.
904  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Lightning Labs just made "Taproot Assets" v0.2 a BRC20 alternative. on: May 23, 2023, 10:20:41 PM
Well, finally. I hope all that NFT crap migrates to LN ASAP. I was going to send some BTC to another wallet today and my wallet kept telling me minimum fee not met. It turned out minimum fee today was about 18sat/byte! If the fee is lower than that, blockchain won't even accept the transaction! For my amount (not big) this fee was about 7-8% which was about 10% of the amount. I guess that's even more expensive than Paypal  Shocked

905  Economy / Economics / Re: Sanctions at work:Russia posts its second highest deficit in the post-Soviet era on: May 23, 2023, 09:52:17 PM
I'm always having a good laugh while reading his posts. This guy is so funny! He doesn't even bother to find and re-post some latest news on what's going on in Russia (and there are lots of negative things happening there too). Instead he's spamming all war/sanction threads with some speculation and wild guesses and sometimes outright lies and BS. No facts, no sources provided. Zero credibility guy.  Grin
Don't take it to heart. DrBeer is just a politically motivated Ukrainian Russophobe who pollutes the Economics thread for the sole reason that he won't get paid four dollars for another message in the Politics thread as part of a signature campaign. This may be a problem for the bounty manager, because such aggressively politicized behavior casts a shadow on the reputation of the advertised bitcoin mixer, but since the bounty manager thinks everything is in order, this is not a problem.

It is doubly funny that while actively scolding Russia in the English-language branch, he in the Russian-language locale almost as actively advertises the agricultural tokens of some kind of Ukrainian enterprise for the production of cucumbers lol. Grin

"Excellent plan" - write off a fictitious, "far-fetched" accusation to the opponent, whose arguments are true, which you don't like, and the opponent reveals all your attempts to lie Smiley

About Russophobia - it's generally funny. I am RUSSIAN by origin, but not a resident of Russia, but a free Ukraine. Russophobia is a narrative invented by the Kremlin to scare its people and cloud their minds. There is no fear for the Russians. There is an aversion to RASHIZM, but these are different entities Smiley

And once again about the economy going to the bottom, i.e. about Russian Smiley

- China refused to buy Russian wheat despite Putin's requests
The record harvest of grain harvested last year by Russian farmers was not needed by Russia's largest trading partner.
China, which has increased purchases of almost all types of natural resources from Russia - from oil and gas to coal and metals - refuses to buy Russian-made wheat, despite numerous requests voiced by President Vladimir Putin. Instead of Russian wheat, China prefers Australian (59%), Canadian (18%) and American (9%) wheat. The problem arose at the level of China's phytosanitary requirements
And it was one of the notable export items. Oil is sold almost at cost, gas has fallen in price, Russia has lost its markets. Now the grain market and the largest buyer of this product. Undoubtedly, this is the success of Russia Smiley

- Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded that measures be taken in response to the mass emigration of citizens that swept the country after the start of the war and the announcement of mobilization.

- Two news are wonderful:
Putin demanded to protect children from the Internet
-- The governor of Primorye proposed to lure orphans to war with the help of certificates for apartments
Those. steal the opportunity to receive information from children, and at the same time send them to war, kill foreign citizens, and die themselves, and this is much more valuable Smiley

- One of Europe's largest insulin producers, Novo Nordisk, following the American BMS and Eli Lilly plans to enter the Russian market. In Russia itself, at the moment, insulin is produced by a semi-handicraft method, and in very small quantities ....

- With pleas and threats: Russia asked India for salvation from financial isolation - "great Russia" is once again begging for something from its "friends" Smiley

Well, Russophiles, let's talk about the economy? Smiley

First, before we discuss anything please provide the sources for this info you've posted. No sources - no discussion, because there are no facts to discuss.  Grin

Getting back to economy, I've heard the US is approaching a default: https://edition.cnn.com/2023/05/23/business/prepare-debt-default/index.html among others, the military will be affected, pay delays are possible. Uncle Sam is not even begging, it's just drowning in trillions of debt.  Grin

Yes, the quality has certainly improved on the WTA. The players are performing well and also improving. I generally did not follow WTA because of the unpredictable nature and inconsistent performance of players. But now it feels like actually becoming more competitive and somewhat predictable.

Dunno, I don't see any particular difference between ATP and WTA in terms of predictable/unpredictable results. For example Alcaraz losing in Rome to qualifier. It wasn't too predictable was it?  Grin

Anyway, tennis world is getting ready for Roland Garros but meanwhile there are some top players hitting the courts in Geneva. Ruud, Zverev and Fritz are top seeds there. I also spotted Dimitrov in the draw.

Ukrainian channels are quite free, and are not interested in systemic lies like Russian channels Smiley So if there are inaccuracies, then they are not significant. I understand that you don't like it, but that's not my problem Smiley

You made my day! Hilarious! Ukraine is at war with Russia. Any article being published is thoroughly checked and altered the way it would cause most damage to Russia. The same happens in Russia. Being "free" and "independent" and publishing any truth in favor of opponent will lead to actions like banning, closing etc. It's called propaganda. Same thing happened during WW2 and before that. So, my little retarded friend, no articles from .ua websites. It's 1000% propaganda. Remember Mariupol? UA news outlets didn't report it was captured by Russians for weeks. Wait, are you aware Bakhmut has fallen to the Russians? Sorry, if it was a spoiler for you. You'll probably find out next week!   Grin

908  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BRC-20 needs to be removed on: May 22, 2023, 09:43:59 PM
I'm genuinely curious how Bitcoin will see global adoption in this case if 500k extra transactions are "hurting" the network that badly.
I've seen numerous threads about how Bitcoin has 100-200 million users worldwide, now, the simple question is, what will happen if every single on of them would want to just do a transaction?
A regular, normal transaction, that is not a jpg monkey, verified by all peers, eco friendly sustainable, with a positive value to the economy, rated 5 stars even by the defenders of the Palantir or how the hell does the mob of anti ordinals call themselves?

What do we do then to bring the fees down?
- we ban mixers and tumblers?
- we ban consolidations?
- we ban tx between 0.04645 and 0.38651 ?
- we ban tx sent any other time than between 8-16 during weekdays?

Or, and bear with me on this horrendous idea, we adapt?

Precisely.  That is why calls from impatient, entitled censorship advocates will fall on deaf ears and devs will continue to focus on scaling and other important factors.  Devs see the big picture and understand what they're building towards.  Whereas the entitled censorship advocates will make a lot of noise, completely fail to raise a single valid point (because they understand very little) and they'll never lift a finger to enact change.

Censorship advocates are already on the wrong side of history.  They just don't know it yet.

Paradoxically, I'm anti-censorship and I also hate ordinals spam at the same time. Fighting spam has nothing to do with censorship. I also really hope that this attack will end naturally and we won't be forced to take any counter-measures (censorship as you call it).  Roll Eyes
909  Economy / Economics / Re: When will we stop living for the weekend? Escaping the 9-5 life. on: May 22, 2023, 09:34:12 PM
Time passes, and we have nothing to look forward to. We watch our lives pass, and the only thing we're looking forward to is the weekend or 20 days per year of paid time off. We're working a whole year, from 9 to 5 and sometimes even more, at someone else's business just to have an approximate of 20 days of vacation and two days off per week, with many of us having one or even none per week. Is it just me, or does this life sound completely depressing to me? Our ambitions are completely crushed by such a daily routine; our days off are mostly to get things done around the house and to rest. By the time that happens, the day has passed, and we have to go to work again.

At least where I'm at, having two days off per week is considered extremely lucky and privileged, especially if it's two days in a row. Personally, I only had one day off per week, and it honestly wasn't enough. On the one hand, I wanted to get things done around the house and rest, but on the other hand, I didn't want to stay inside doing practically nothing to enjoy myself. Thus, the single day off wasn't even close to being enough. Certainly, I'd be better off with two consecutive days off, but still, is that how you want your life to be for the next 10–20 years, or even more?

On the one hand, I don't want to complain; through the last few years of working, I've been on vacation four times, from 2020 to 2022, which isn't bad at all. On the other hand, I'd like to constantly travel and explore new destinations, the majority of which we'll never experience through this way of life.

Do you believe that there's a true way to escape this vicious cycle, or are we doomed to live like this forever? Telling me that my minor savings in Bitcoin are going to settle me for the rest of my life isn't going to cut it, because the majority of us won't ever have enough Bitcoin to retire.

Are you satisfied with this way of life, or would you prefer to live a different way? What would you like to change and how? Personally, I'm clueless and not satisfied with the idea of spending the rest of my life like this.

I'm an entrepreneur and I don't know what 9 to 5 means for almost 20 years! Of course I'm not just chilling all the time, I have to work and I work hard but I'm working remotely and I can choose when to work, for example I can start at 9 PM and go on until midnight or I can have a day off on Monday and then work on Sunday etc...  Cool
910  Economy / Economics / Re: Sanctions at work:Russia posts its second highest deficit in the post-Soviet era on: May 22, 2023, 05:56:23 PM
Again wet erotic fantasies about reparations? Reparations are paid by the losing side, in order to start a substantive dialogue about reparations, Ukraine must first defeat Russia. I estimate the chances of such a scenario as zero.

Of course, you are absolutely right, which is why it is Russia that will pay reparations! Smiley

Well, about the benefits of the budget deficit: “The federal budget deficit of Russia in April exceeded the plan for 2023, follows from the preliminary assessment of the Ministry of Finance. In January-April, the budget was executed with a deficit of up to 3.424 trillion rubles, having increased in April by 1.024 trillion rubles at once ."
and manifestations of "benefit":
"Putin has frozen the funded pension for Russians until the end of 2025. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that extends the freezing of the funded part of the pension - the Russians will not receive it until the end of 2025."

And all this with the rapid growth of costs for the failed terrorist special military operation, which the Kremlin zayey, deceiving itself with its inflated greatness, inflated "stable" economy and the same fake army Smiley
I understand that you have run out of arguments in this dialogue and you have completely switched to patriotic slogans. Drain counted. Grin

The funded part of the pension has been frozen since 2014, take the trouble to look for fresher shit.

You are contradicting yourself here. Ordinals caused (and continue causing) huge losses. People who paid cents (satoshis) for their tx are now paying much more (x10-x100) for the same tx for no particular reason. This is because the network is getting ddosed by the NFT criminals.
I am not contradicting myself, you say Ordinals caused huge losses like it created an opening for people's funds to be stolen in the network. TX fees isn't losses, a time will come when miners will receive incentive only through TX fees which will not be so cheap then, will it also be called losses at that time. I don't support this invention and i don't use it, but people are using it, and because the network is permissionless, they do not need my permission or yours to do so.

Yes they are losses. If a user paid 1sat/byte for a transaction before ordinals attack and now the same user has to pay 100sat/byte because there are 500000 monkey pics queued in mempool the user is losing money/Bitcoin. The network has come to a complete stall now after the BRC20 attack joined ordinals attack in a massive ddos targeted at Bitcoin.

Medvedev Vs Rune
The match is underway and one set has been completed. Medvedev is currently leading because he got the win in the first set. This is going to be a very close encounter between both of them. I honestly believe that this is going to be very close and also is going to go to the third set.

I also expected this match go to the third set. Fortunately Medvedev have won it earlier on direct set wins. In the second set Medvedev have got four match points as the points were 0 : 40. Finally 7-5 7-5 and the title is won by Medvedev, and Rune needs to learn more. In the previous encounter between the two, it was Rune who won the match and this time it is Medvedev.

Well, this was certainly a surprise for me. I thought the match was surely going to go to the third set. But obviously, that did not happen. Medvedev was able to win the match in the first two sets.

Congratulations to Medvedev. He did really well to win this Italian Open. The final could have been a little more closer, but it is what it is. I absolutely agree that Rune is still a very young player. He still needs a lot more experience when it comes to playing in the finals of any competition. And with experience, he will be able to handle the pressure situations better.

Medvedev is still one of the best tennis players in the world, but he does have a distinct playing style. it all doesn't look that smooth, and in terms of talent Alcaraz is a lot more talented. You can't make it with talent alone. The most talented tennis player ever is undoubtedly Federer. In the past, Agassi and Sampras had to work much harder for it, I think. Tennis was more fun to watch back then. Maybe there are just too many tennis tournaments these days? I don't think you can compare the generations well at the moment. Women's tennis is of a completely different/lower level than men's tennis.

Perhaps Alcaraz has more talent, I woudn't question that but Medvedev is much smarter. I've read somewhere he was really good at maths in school and was even planning to become a mathematician but chose a tennis career eventually. It's a pleasure to watch how he chooses the most logical and efficient shot most of the time.

WTA has progressed a lot lately. They are female players with a 200km/h+ serve for example. I remember Djokovic was serving 150-160km/h at around 2015-2016 and it was ok. Jelena Ostapenko has a higher average winner speed than Andy Murray, Maria Sakkari has better physique than many male players etc etc

It's a good thing community is starting to understand the threat to Bitcoin world BRC-20 brings. I actually can't wait for Bitcoiners in the US to sue Casey Rodarmor and Domo for all the losses their inventions caused.  Angry
Ordinals didn't cause any loss, it wasn't an attack that compromised the network or people's wallet, not that it is even possible, so what has a lawsuit got to do with this. BTC is even a decentralized currency, so if you ever lose BTC in your self custody, no lawsuit can help you recover it. Ordinals truly takes up block space, but it isn't a threat to BTC; it only causes mempool congestion and makes people to pay higher tx fees to outbid others and get their transaction confirmed, it is surely going to cool off.

You are contradicting yourself here. Ordinals caused (and continue causing) huge losses. People who paid cents (satoshis) for their tx are now paying much more (x10-x100) for the same tx for no particular reason. This is because the network is getting ddosed by the NFT criminals.

Putting pressure on the owner/inventor will make him feel the pain regular users feel because of his invention. I think it's quite fair and no need to introduce any limits/bans/censorship on the Bitcoin network.

Why do we have to sacrifice anything? Bitcoin can be what matters and it can also be fast and cheap simultaneously.
Unless it becomes more popular, and there appear to be more transactions on-chain. I wonder what will be your excuse then. "Bitcoin must split, because we can't handle everyone in 1 MB blocks" -  Roll Eyes
Becoming popular has nothing to do with the number of transactions. Bitcoin IS popular as an asset, hedge against inflation, store of value, investment etc. You mean if it becomes more popular as a currency or payment method? Well, we have LN for that.

It was difficult to read past your first sentence here as your claiming that Bitcoin's popularity has nothing to do with number of transactions whereas Bitcoin's "popularity" (quantifiable utility I assume) has to do with a lot of things, not just it's value. The number of transactions, value of transactions, number of users, number of accounts, these are all metrics that matter to Bitcoin in order for it to qualify as popular, which continue to increase. Whether you like it or not, Ordinals and other BRC20's are making these metrics increase, therefore increasing Bitcoin's popularity. Even if it's not in a way that you like, support or agree with.

Also you say that no. of txs is irrelevant because we have LN, which also proves a point that we don't need to be making small payments over the mainnet right? If so then why is it a concern that transactions are expensive if we instead use LN or other L2 solution? If we're all using Lightning, then the use of mainnet is simply to increase/decrease liquidity of channels, or otherwise open them. No offence but I'm really struggling to understand your argument if you're complaining about high fees but yet claiming that LN is the payment method (the latter I agree with).

This solution is being considered right now by LN devs I believe. Moving all NFT transactions to LN could potentially free up the mempool. Regular payments are not an issue - the amount of legit payments is low enough for the blockchain to handle for years to come. The issue however is to transfer all spam to L2.

Daniil Medvedev - Stefanos Tsitsipas

without a doubt that this will be a great game between two big names in the world of tennis and will be a very disputed game, Medvedev who currently occupies position number 3 in the ranking has never reached the final of clay competition, he will strive to be victorious in this game, but his opponent Stefanos Tsitsipas who currently occupies the number 5 position in the ATP ranking comes into this game as the favorite to win and it is not for less the surface of Clay is the strong point of Tsitsipas, so I also think that Tsitsipas will leave this game with victory, although I will not bet on this game, I still see Tsitsipas winning

There is a lot of history between these two players, the head-to-head over 11 matches
is Medvedev 7-4 Tsitsipas. Its going to be close  and Medvedev this season has shown
massive improvements on Clay. I'm going with a Medvedev win!

Holger Rune - Casper Ruud

Rune, who currently occupies the number 7 position in the ATP ranking, comes to this game very motivated, he is in his best form and he was a surprise when he managed to reach another semifinal of a tournament, and this season he won the ATP Munich for the second consecutive time, he also managed to reach the final of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo and has just defeated Novak Djokovic who is the number one player in the world, it is undeniable how rune is going through a good moment, although his opponent Ruud is a very strong opponent who currently occupies the number 4 position in the ATP ranking I see Rune coming out with victory in this game

This is a tough one to call, Rune is growing stronger almost with every tournament,
if he can win today he sets out a massive warning to everyone for RG.

Ruud favours the Clay courts but has been under the radar this season really and comes
into the match as underdog, he is definitely capable of creating an upset though.

Ruud v Rune

If we take a look at H2H the stats are yelling RUUD. It's 4:0 in favor of the Norwegian. On the other hand Ruud is not in his best condition atm. Last time they met at RG in 2022 and it was an exhausting 3 set match. Before that encounter Ruud managed to defeat the Dane in straight sets every time. Rune is younger, more athletic and hungry for a win. This one is going to be tight. I won't be betting on this one.

Medvedev v Tsitsipas

Tsitsipas is in great shape now, but the question is: will the Greek manage to defeat his inner opponent? Psychology is one the main factors and Medvedev showed that he is great at it. It's fun to watch how he opposes the crowd and gains strength from that. Stefanos on the other hand, frequently lacks consistency due to psychological issues. So my bet: Medvedev.

thus no more junk spam = no more junk spam/..

as for you caring about moving ownership of junk spam.. it is never proven in blockchain data that junk belongs to  particular output.. never has.. thus its never been a NFT or a ownership thing..
the junk spam data has just always been dead data added to witness area and just sits there as dead data.
I think that I, you, the developers of the core, and any user of the bitcoin network, have the right to have a private opinion whether the pictures of frogs uploaded to the network are useless garbage or malicious spam, and even have the right to express this opinion publicly (but for the developers of the core, it is in their own interests best to be as careful as possible). But we can't ban it just because we don't like it. Because the owner of the picture with the frog will say that bitcoin is a scam, promised to keep its value and did not fulfill the promise - and we will have nothing to object to him. Who in their right mind would entrust their value to a network that, over time, could change the rules of the game and declare that value invalid garbage?

Well if there's a double spend bug and some users manage to double their Bitcoin holdings using the loophole, tell me, when the bug is fixed, can these users keep their doubled stashes?  Grin  You're trying to put it in such a way to make people think these NFT actually have value (which they don't). So how can they lose value if they don't have any value? And another thing: Bitcoin doesn't promise anything to anyone. It doesn't promise you will earn anything or even keep the money you invested. Theoretically, Bitcoin can go to 0 any moment. So, saying Bitcoin should keep some promise to the NFT owners is simply laughable.  Grin

And I really think that Bitcoin devs are not stopping this madness because somebody on the internet forum may think they're abusing their power or freedom is threatened but just because for some reason they don't consider it a threat to Bitcoin and it's health (yet).
919  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: congested mempool & LN on: May 19, 2023, 10:02:05 PM
Definitely not, but LN is L2 so it still depends on the main blockchain to function. If LN transactions are stuck somewhere between 500000 monkey and dick pics there's little use in LN.
I'm honestly curious if you're frustrated by the monkey pics per se, or by the fact that the miners prioritize transactions which pay more than you do.

I'm honestly curious why do you stubbornly keep defending that crap? Here are some guesses:

a) you don't use Bitcoin
b) you are a miner and enjoy huge profits from high fees
c) you are an NFT creator/reseller and earn money by selling ordinals
d) you are retarded

I simply don't see any other reason why you support ordinals and oppose anyone who is against them.  Cool
920  Economy / Economics / Re: Sanctions at work:Russia posts its second highest deficit in the post-Soviet era on: May 19, 2023, 09:56:00 PM
And here we are again, right after being told that the deficit was a fluke, that it's some state business with taxes and other bla bla that the deficit will be covered, and that Russia's economy will keep grow when in reality:

Russia Budget Deficit Hits $45 Billion, Exceeding Full-Year Goal

Russia's Economy Contracts 1.9% In First Quarter
https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/russian-economy-shrank-1-9-161523790.html

Love how Europe is sinking although it records growth while Russia becomes a superpower while in a complete recession.
But, yeah, reality and propaganda can't show the same picture, ever!!!!

I have to say that -1.9% is not a critical decrease and by no means can be called a collapse.

Quote
(Reuters) - Russia's economy shrank 1.9% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2023, data from the Rosstat federal statistics service showed on Wednesday, following growth of 3% in the same period of last year.

Besides, it seems that in the last year they still showed some growth being under sanctions already. It mean in the last 2 years Russia's economy has in fact gone up 1.1%. Which is not that bad, taking into account that economies of many EU countries have contracted by similar %. Europe's biggest economy - Germany is forecasted to contract by 0.6 percent, Latvia, by 0.3 percent, and Sweden, by 0.6 percent. Most other EU countries are either at 0% growth or some tiny growth (less than 1%).
