901  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: (Not solved) MSI 790GX-G65 should be fine for 4x 5850s? on: December 01, 2011, 01:29:02 AM
Sorry I'm being vague. Windows will automatically try to install CCC when you boot for the first time with ATI cards. DO NOT install CCC on a computer with (+)4 GPU's. There is a problem with it that hasn't been resolved since 4-way crossfire came about, not everyone has this problem. I didn't have the problem till I went past 6 GPU's.

As for too much processing power for the chipset. I assume you mean the mobo's on board chipset. I doubt that is the problem. Not positive, and correct me if I'm wrong please, but the onboard chipset has very little to do with the hashing done by the GPU except to run the stream of data which is insignificant bandwidth compared to rendering a game, or gui for windows.

Well I am not sure how much data is passing back and forth but like I said from my experience a slight overlclock on my CPU would cause it to overheat and its a sensative little chipset. I think I remember reading somewhere that with crossfire when mining your cpu runs full out which could cause a problem. If you are right about the bandwidth then no it might not be the problem. I just found a lot of limitations myself with the 790.

ATI CCC

Yes you could also run different driver sets to see if that fixes the probleml. I run a single card setup and have not had issues unless I overclock too far. Even then it usually just crashes the driver and not BSOD. He did not mention anything about overclock and I would think the first thing he would probably try would be to bring down to stock speeds.

Good point on the drivers though, try a few different sets to see if this fixes it before you get a new motherboard.

Has anyone had success running the same setup as Goat more importantly? If not than it might be too much processing power for the chipset as I suspect.

No, I think it was pretty well written. That's what comma's are for.

Proportional pools are all the same over time, their only difference will be in fees. A pool already makes its own BTC on every block found there, typically the fees that have been attached by transactions and donations. Get yourself in a pool that you like, without a fee, there are a lot to choose from.

If I may add my own 2 bitcents, you may enjoy 0% fee PPS style pools better at 870 MH/s.

What proportional pool that pays for stale shares and unmatured blocks is there besides Deepbit? If you know one that has all this without fees I will gladly use it.

I meant when bitcoin charts calls the day at 0:00GMT
907  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What's generally considered the best pool to join? on: December 01, 2011, 12:25:15 AM
It was poorly explained and since I mine with Deepbit I know I only lose 3%. If you read exactly what was written it looked like they take 10% from everything. Simply not true.

I think the middle pile would be more appropriate

I see it now - wohoo! LOL
911  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What's generally considered the best pool to join? on: November 30, 2011, 11:44:58 PM
So then are we all in agreement that for proportional that Deepbit is the best pool?
912  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What's generally considered the best pool to join? on: November 30, 2011, 11:22:58 PM
How is their proportional 10%. From what I see it is 3% and non matured shares are still paid. Their PPS is not a very good rate and if I look at how many shares I would have produced there I would have significantly less BTC if I did PPS. I tried slushs several times when I could not connect to deepbit but every share I mined except for 1 block which I only had about 5 shares for did not mature. For that reason alone I have stuck with deepbit.

Its going to drop back down to low 2's

someone is going to dump 250,000 coins at one point.

I doubt it seeing as not too many people have that many coins and those that do probably wouldnt want to do that. Im guessing we seen a few big dumps after the 3.09 but to do in one big dump is silly. We are heading north of $3 for a while I say.
914  Economy / Speculation / Re: About to hit $3 again... what now, Proudhoun???? (n/t) on: November 30, 2011, 10:36:51 PM
$3 will probably be the new floor but it doesnt mean we wont cross back and forth slightly for a little while, while people are pondering if its too good to be true. If its above $3 at market close then the floor will probably solidify. From here on out whatever happens is anyones game.
915  Economy / Speculation / Re: NEWS! Bitcoin Technical Analysis on: November 30, 2011, 10:16:37 PM
I'm guessing some people at the bitcoin conference decided to invest a little money. They triggered EUR transfers to mtgox on monday and now the money is available to spend on BTC. That's why we cracked 3. Makes sense?

I think that's an excellent guess.  Just like the US conference this will end up being temporary and the march downward will resume once the dust settles in the next few days.

Try to rationilze why you were dead wrong all you like. How does the egg feel on your face?
916  Economy / Speculation / Re: About to hit $3 again... what now, Proudhoun???? (n/t) on: November 30, 2011, 10:14:55 PM
And just like that!
917  Economy / Speculation / Re: About to hit $3 again... what now, Proudhoun???? (n/t) on: November 30, 2011, 10:13:04 PM
It could and probably will come back quickly
918  Economy / Speculation / Re: About to hit $3 again... what now, Proudhoun???? (n/t) on: November 30, 2011, 09:51:30 PM
$3 is the new floor. I think it is probably going to take a lot to get it below that.

Lose your shorts on your shorts there proudhon?
919  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who was right and who was wrong? on: November 30, 2011, 09:45:52 PM
So Dan are you going to change my post from the wrong pile?
920  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!! on: November 30, 2011, 09:33:44 PM
Now that we have passed $3 I think we are going to shoot up fast for a quick rally and maybe settle around 3.15 for the next few days before slowly climbing again.
