921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you manage your money on gambling sites. on: September 21, 2023, 05:33:38 PM
Gambling sites are not intended for storing our savings. If they are gambling experts then most likely they know what they are doing. Maybe we can see big amounts in their accounts but we do have different levels as to how much big is big. Drake for instance usually bets around a million for a single game so it could be that $5 million in his account is not that big for him. And he bets regularly so there is no need to deposit and then withdraw every time he plans to make a bet. So it is not really surprising to see regular bettors just keeping their winnings in their betting accounts.

Yeah, it could be that having such a huge amount in their balance is just to gamble with it; I don't doubt it, but the question is: how often does Drake show his casino wallet balance for the public to see how much he's got in there? Those channels that show those huge balances can still show their winning tickets and how much they have won without having to display their wallet balance. As a matter of fact, they can even cover the balance with ink, but they chose to show it off as evidence to convince people to believe them, while they only scam people.

We can make deposit of any amount into our casino wallet as long as it not beyond the limit set for a maximum deposit on the gambling platforms ToS, if we are considering someone like Drake, we cannot assume his own conditions to be thesame with ours as applicable because he's an influential celebrity, not only that, he has the money and such could not cost him anything, people like him can make a deposit of a very huge amount of money and yet gamble and do same continuously over time because he can afford to do so, unlike the regular gamblers.
922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting significant amount on: September 21, 2023, 05:17:19 PM
Winning while gambling is not by the rate of the amount of money we decided to use for betting, most of these gambling games comes with how skillful we are and lucky, in doing this, we must be rest assured that the amount we are using to gamble with is the amount of money we can afford to loose, some can afford using a reasonable about of money to bet and on thesame view loose the whole money on gambling because they realized the risk involved and knew they already have a backup to support their financial loss recovery.

928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: September 20, 2023, 02:45:59 PM

In my country, the government also imposes a 30% direct tax on cryptocurrencies and gambling.
I don't know how to pay taxes when I win the game by playing with cryptocurrency. And I don't play with taxable money so i not concerned about it for now.

Paying upto 30% on tax is much for the way i see this on the crypto gambling section, though some gambling platforms can afford such but this may not be affordable by many individual gamblers, having the mentality that some money are taxable while some are not, people will appreciate every efforts in seing that they are able to byepass any form of tax if possible on gambling because there's no particular way they remit the money back to the government, there are other non taxable jobs and source of income we can afford to cope and remain mute about them because there's no direct tax payment on them.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: September 20, 2023, 02:38:41 PM
It is true that "cockfighting" only exists in a few places in this part of the world, because several regions and countries strongly oppose cockfighting activities carried out by some people through policies issued by the government. And to overcome illegal cockfighting, we only need stricter law enforcement, because law enforcement in several countries and regions can still be lobbied again and there are also many law enforcement officers who protect cockfighting activities.
On few occasions I have been privileged to witness this cockfight,  since this discussion began a few weeks ago,  but then at some point it still ball down to the fact that cockfighting only exist in some premitive location around the world,  some are in villages that have some level of f traditional settings that allow for some local games,  in the northern part in my country there use to have arranged cock games and this normally happens during some form of religion events that happened at seasonal period.
cockfighting is local culture. However, as time goes by, many people are interested in cockfighting, it is not only held in certain areas but has been held in several countries. And currently, through several considerations, some countries have made a policy that cockfighting is an illegal activity that is contrary to regulations and legislation. so that in the end cockfighting returned to being a local activity held in certain places.

However, here I just found out that cockfighting activities are part of religious ritual activities, because as far as I know, cockfighting activities are cultural ritual activities or customs.

If we are considering the entertainment aspect of it, cock fighting could be that lovely in giving fun we wanted to have in gambling, as for those in local settings, this is more predominant to the region underdeveloped, on the same view cock fighting is eady to predict base o their physical strength, we can grade a cock with it's experience in fighting and how it appears, but when we are to consider the law and regulations that guides the livestocks, their use may not be permitted in most developed countries because they believed it's a form of abuse.
930  Other / Meta / Re: Just for curiosity, I wanna know about those things.(Local board>child Board ) on: September 20, 2023, 02:32:44 PM
Actually, I am seeing that on the local section, There many local boards have child boards and also have pin posts for guidelines for newbies and some don't have both child boards and pin posts also, take for example - Nigeria (Naija)
Actually, I wanna know, is there any requirement to get child boards for the local board? Or give as soon as you apply? And if you have to apply, to whom should you apply? Can moderators do this? Or the admin himself? What is the process?

I guess, just getting a local board doesn't look like a local thread if there are no childboards? At least if there is a pin topic then maybe some common guidelines for the beginners could have been taught in the beginning.

My reason for opening this topic is just curiosity to know about these things and mechanisms.

A request should be made by the people of that same board who are prominent enough to write and post on it to the meta board, this is the thing they can do and probably send a PM to Theymos with the link to the thread, then you have acted from your own part, if the admin sees a need in granting such request he will, but i need to remind you that there have been many applications pending that needed Theymos attention and you have to be more patient with these because you will have to wait for some time, during which you can also encourage for active participation on the local board.
931  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Challenges that can deprive/ delay one from hodli for long. on: September 20, 2023, 02:14:55 PM
Snipped

It's a pity that as many as possible are the challenges that can lead us to release what we have hodl when tge situation turns around against our wish that we have to release instead of holding the more, most of these are as a result of unforseen circumstances that are not negligible forus to do without, while some have been that lucky that they always hold their investment till when it is due for sell, no matter how dip the market is or how they have been obligated for a release of asset.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: September 19, 2023, 06:00:58 PM
If you're the addicted kind of gambler then you're most likely not going to be successful because that addiction on itself is a barrier from being successful, a gambler who is successful has to be someone who is coordinated in all things he does while gambling without leaving behind what should have bee done undone, we alsl have to have a routine check and balance on ourselves with how we gamble and what we do to make it better for us in having fun and making friends, we have many successful business entrepreneurs who are successful in life and yet they gamble responsibly and have nothing to loose, if we have arrived or haven't, we have to gamble responsibly.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some of country can offer you legal gambling in 2023! on: September 19, 2023, 05:53:12 PM
It is normal for some countries to allow gambling and prohibit it because it depends on the situation and conditions of each country. It is not surprising that gambling is prohibited in countries with such strong religious laws that they decide that it is completely prohibited in their countries. However, some countries still allow gambling but with strict conditions, so not all citizens can gamble freely.

Not every countries allow gambling just as not all the countries have thesame law that guide them and their economic and social activities, if in your own country you lived in has the law that permit for gambling then count yourself luck for that, I don't blame some countries for doing such because if we look into the rate people also abuse gambling, it's worth going against it to an extent.

But it is also possible that in some countries where gambling is prohibited, underground casinos still operate because some people still like to gamble. There are many reasons why countries prohibit and allow gambling and if more problems arise from gambling, of course, the government of that country will prohibit gambling.

If you participate in any undercover gambling activities and you're caught in a country that does not allow such, ome should be ready to dance to the music tone he played, because I just wonder for how long will one keep running and hiding and will not be caught.
934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not banned, yet not accepted on: September 19, 2023, 05:39:13 PM
Bitcoin is not banned and cannot be because it's a decentralized digital currency, they are not accepting it because those in government any have their asses exposed through the means of their fiat financial loot, there's nothing they can do to bitcoin than to help widen it awareness because the more they are raking attacks the more the currency is getting more global recognition without knowing to them that they are only helping in sharing the goodnews about bitcoin to the world instead of the attack they think they are doing, this is more directly talking to the governments.
935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UnionBank to offer Bitcoin trading on mobile app in Octomber on: September 19, 2023, 05:22:15 PM
What is your opinion, do you think that banks are slowly starting to adopt Bitcoin?

Source:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/union-bank-of-the-philippines-launches-bitcoin-and-ethereum-trading

There's nothing new in this, if the government surely allows for the use of bitcoin in making transactions and payments then the banks will also have no choice than to embrace the same adoption along the line with them, if we consider how the people are accepting bitcoin and making payments in this same digital currency, banks wouldn't want to be left out in this kind of financial opportunities because they are always open to offers that can bring in money for them continuously.

Of course, Gambling should be playing with care because in gambling, most of the time you will take the loss and you should spend money in gambling that you can afford, which means you need to spend money 2% to 3% in your gambling from your monthly income.

Since it's our personal money we are using to gamble then i don't think there is much need to keep repeating to people why they needed to exercise caution and care while gambling, had it been that you gamble for free, then we may assume people are gambling out of care because they never know it worth, since they are not using their money to bet, so that alone should be the reason why gambling with care should be inherent behavior of every gambler to do the right things and make the best choice in gambling.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When the fun stops on: September 18, 2023, 05:40:14 PM
Gambling is much connected with fun and getting entertained. Will this be happening with the gamblers in reality. Maybe this can happen with the gamblers for whom money is not at all a big thing, as he holds big bags of money. For people like you and me, gambling could be fun to some extent, beyond that mind always looks for some profit. This is the real expectation, and when we look for money we're at the risk. Because, we start to spend beyond our ability. Fun stops when we consider gambling as a way to make money.

Maybe we should accept it this way that when the fun stops then you pause your gambling and take a look out on the possible cause, there's no way we can gamble and netlect the fun in it, just as money is required to stake a bet in gambling, we also needs money to fuel and desire and taste to longer more for gambling, this has to come to the full realization of every gambler in knowing that it's all about bfun and friendliness why we gamble, we have to do these willingly and not by compellation, and we don't have to consider winning or losing before having fun in gambling.
