961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The effect of Bitcoin on children on: June 02, 2023, 08:15:19 AM
What effect do you expect, it's just nice to know that their parents also teach them bitcoin from the beginning (I hope it's done the right way). It's just difficult to give children financial literacy at a certain age level. My conclusion from your story (if it's real), children only visualize what they're used to seeing at every opportunity, especially if their parents have activities related to bitcoin.
There is nothing special about your story.
962  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we improve our country's economy by on culture or ecosystem? on: June 02, 2023, 06:20:40 AM
The basic questions are:
  • is the trading or investment profession part of the culture or ecosystem?
  • Do lower-income groups in developing countries have reasons to invest?

Looks like your solution is coming from too narrow a perspective.

The only way to improve the country's economy is to improve the quality of its human resources, and actually that is also the responsibility of each individual rather than only being borne by government programs and infrastructure.
963  Other / Meta / Re: Are there proper template for ban appeals? on: June 02, 2023, 05:58:41 AM
No formal template so far, I think it should load :
  • Links to banned account profiles.
  • Your defense why the ban should be lifted.
  • References to your great work or contributions that have been made.

You can see examples of ban appeal threads here. https://ninjastic.space/search?board=24&title=Appeal
964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another popular football site HESGOAL.COM seized by the US government on: June 02, 2023, 05:19:43 AM
What does this have to do with gambling?
It's got nothing to do with crypto but everything to do with sports streaming and as such is gambling related.

This thread was on the scams board https://ninjastic.space/post/62333676, and it didn't occur to me that it was related to the gambling board.
Besides, this case didn't cause any material harm on the part of the user, and that's why it made me confused.
965  Other / Meta / Re: Algorithm to "merited by" order on: June 01, 2023, 02:01:54 PM
What I thought at the time is that the weight on the DT has some influence.
But maybe it's not, it's just a guess. Undecided

Yeah it's not like that, in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5448111
julerz12's position is ahead of DireWolfM14 while the two have a large difference in weight DT2 values [1].

I just think the order is: sum, then total login time (which is the unique variable). If we pay attention to all the posts that get a lot of merit, the last order is the account that is younger or has a few posts, or lots of posts with shorter post intervals.

966  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Qredo Unveils Its New Self-Custody Wallet  on: June 01, 2023, 12:17:50 PM
They claim to be a self custody wallet with 2 main features[1].
Quote
Qredo's on-chain custody stores private keys using dMPC and our powerful policy engine

I don't know much what dMPC is but the second one got me thinking about how they enforce policies on their security engine (which I thought sounded a bit centralized). Then I found this[2],

Quote
*Note that the Algorand, Cardano, and Solana networks require any type of wallets with one of these assets to have a minimum balance and a minimum withdrawal amount of the asset in question. For example, you’ll have to leave 0.1 ALGO in each Algorand wallet on Qredo when withdrawing outside of Qredo. Additionally, the minimum withdrawal amount for Algorand is 0.1 ALGO, excluding GAS and other fees. This doesn't apply to Transfers and Atomic Swaps within the Qredo Wallet.

Decentralization works Wink

967  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges X Canada on: May 31, 2023, 04:47:09 PM
I'm sorry, I'm not that articulate in expressing myself. What I mean about the big exchanges, I'm reffering to Binance, Bybit, Huobi, and etc they have been dominant for years and when faced with challenges they begin withdrewing from that country.

If the demand for regulation contradicts the general purpose of the service, while there are no alternative solutions then it is better to withdraw from that country. Or in other words, the new policy may not benefit the exchange in the long run (substantially reduces a significant portion of exchange income).

What does this have to do with crypto?
969  Local / Ekonomi, Politik, dan Budaya / Re: Pembayaran Menggunakan Kripto di larang Keras on: May 31, 2023, 04:05:22 PM

Jadi, gimana???

970  Economy / Economics / Re: Will chatgpt really destroy the job market? on: May 31, 2023, 02:44:42 PM
I don't think that all aspects of the business will be shifted by the role of AI, humans can still excel in several things, especially responsibility in failure. Sometimes AI can't solve completely new problems that have nothing to do with their past learning, so to solve them they even need to fail without considering the consequences of failure. However, there are concerns on several fronts.
971  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A opinion on regrets on: May 31, 2023, 02:20:15 PM
People don't really make the best profits and don't really have the opportunity to buy the bottom then sell the top.
The sky has no limit, while the bottom has been exceeded. Then set your own bottom to start from scratch and make a top limit so that you're satisfied with it. Regrets are only caused by inconsistency and greed.
972  Economy / Goods / Re: Giveaway Notebook Onda Oliver on: May 31, 2023, 08:20:45 AM
The giveaway will end at 10k pregnant women elected for the selection and the number of the winning comment will be elaborated randomly
Lol, is this a joke? Let's say to find just 10k likes (who are really pregnant women) it takes 9 months. Now you're looking for 10k giveaway winners by assuming likes must reach at least 1 million likes to be drawn), in the process some of them have given birth and they're no longer in the category?

including holding unique cryptographic keys associated with accessing private wallets.

Wouldn't that open up more opportunities to be stolen? While I haven't gauged how advanced the bank's security is, for sure it will allow multiple parties access to their storage. The main and important rule, "do not share your privkeys with anyone, including your pet who has a strong memory"

Something made me somewhat laugh from the shared article,
Quote
Why Banks are Cautious of Cryptocurrencies
AML/KYC Concerns
This type of pseudonymity worries many banks who are concerned about the lack of anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) regulations surrounding digital currency transactions. Oftentimes, banks are under the impression that cryptocurrency transactions can’t be tracked for AML and KYC considerations, which could lead to illegal activity and scams on the network.
Maybe they forgot about the term anti-money laundering, money (fiat) is issued by banks and most of the world's fiat money circulation is in digital, they think by what method was this kind of crime committed if not using banking facilities? So far, I've never heard the term "Crypto Laundering"
974  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chat GPT do a TA about bitcoin on: May 30, 2023, 02:50:36 AM
I hope someone will be curious to experiment with real money on some trades so as to draw a more complete conclusion whether the AI's predictions are accurate enough or not. So far, AI chatbots have had many objections about the integrity of the information provided, especially talking about the future.

If they 're accurate enough and start to become the main tool of trading, maybe gradually there will be a significant change in market variables, so that all the technical analysis that we have known for a long time will no longer work.
975  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Asking CTO Jussi-Pekka Erkkilä about the exit scam of his company Localbitcoins. on: May 30, 2023, 02:28:04 AM
If I could find out the addresses of these scammers I could hire somebody who arrest them.

The authorities have a complete service, starting from the team of investigators and arresters. Does your desire to catch these "scammers" do more than simply drag them to justice? All you need to do is make a report about your problem, or you can offer them the compensation you mean here privately so that your case is handled exclusively (outside business hours).

How, do I need to go to Finland?
If you find their license base country, then yeah you can report to local authorities.
What you need to know is that the majority of exchange businesses take offshore licenses because the countries where they operate are more complicated or don't allow the business at all. To make individual arrests, it may require the cooperation of several combinations of authorities.
976  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A quick reminder on how to get full information about your account using BPIP on: May 30, 2023, 01:02:24 AM
Just install the BPIP extension, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224821.0
you can find out the earned merits for the last 120 days on your merit history page
I don't think most phone browsers support BPIP Extension because I tried installing it back then in my Android phone's Chrome browser, but it didn't work. I don't know for other browsers, but people using PCs will find it easy to access.

Just use KIWI browser[1], it also allows installing almost any extension from chrome store. I don't know if they're open source or not (haven't looked closely), they just have a github repository[2]. Tbh, I haven't used it at the moment, not interested in using any extensions on my mobile browser.

977  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance stops GBP deposits in the UK - Where to buy Bitcoin in UK now? on: May 30, 2023, 12:37:35 AM
I think the only options are trading GBP for BUSD/USDT (I haven't tried doing that though) and you still should be able to withdraw GBP. But again, this could be different for non-UK residents.

What's more, UK residents are also no longer able to use any "Earn" offers (earn interest on crypto holdings).

Just looking to find out more and stumbled onto this news: https://decrypt.co/123364/binance-suspend-british-pound-deposits-withdrawals
Quote
The email, which was sent to customers on Monday, explained that customers won’t be able to use GBP as their account on- or off-ramps because Skrill Limited, the U.K.-based partner Binance uses for Faster Payments Service transactions, will no longer support it.

It looks like binance is slowly limiting all activity that uses GBP, including trading and staking itself. Unless Binance finds an alternative partner to Skrill Limited (even if these limitations have nothing to do with government intervention).
978  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Making a x10 or x100 by short selling on: May 29, 2023, 05:07:47 AM
But I think it is easier to make a x10 by selling short...
If you mean selling "short" and refer to trading term on the spot market, then it's not possible unless you're on a known shitcoins pumpdump scheme.

Quote
any tips to get the best ROI possible by selling short?
Just trade on the futures market, some exchanges offer up to 100x leverage levels for the BTC/USD pair, please note this is for advanced traders only.

Quote
How can I know which coins would have earned me x10 if I had sold short in the last few months?
Nobody knows, trading is full probability.
979  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I've lost $10 when depositing to OKX (formerly OKEx) on: May 29, 2023, 04:50:28 AM
(I have tried to contact their support).
I think they're too dismissive of small errors, moreover it is the customer's fault.

I know some other exchanges will credit you once you hit that minimum deposit. So if your minimum deposit is .001 and then send another .0005 and then another .0005 you will get full credit  for the .001.
Can't speak to the policy of OKX, but it might be worth an e-mail to support to find out.
Okex have a special terms about combined deposits[1],
Quote
Combined deposits
When you want to do a deposit, make sure you submit only one deposit request each time. If you submit multiple requests into a single deposit transaction, you'll not receive your deposit. In such a case, you can reach out to our customer support for assistance.
I think it also refers to deposits with more than one transaction input with the aim of accumulating. From my perspective the OP actually deserves support assistance to help credit his balance.

980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating unemployed friends about Bitcoin on: May 29, 2023, 04:09:52 AM
And I assure them if we all get involved in Bitcoin maybe our unemployment will go away. Because there are enough ways to earn money with Bitcoin.
Back to the concept of work and career, the greater the opportunity, the greater the competition. Bitcoin won't throw away unemployment if you don't have the skill preferences to compete.
Now your job is to show and then teach them that you earn bitcoins the "way" you mean.

Quote
Out of all my friends two of my friends have some savings and when I told them about the investment they became very interested in investing but I didn't tell them only the positive aspects of the investment I told them the negative aspects. And I know the rest of my friends would also be interested in learning about Bitcoin but I just don't know how to start teaching them about it.
Speaking of profit then yeah, anyone can be interested depending on what profit level you convince them. But if I were you, I wouldn't be suggesting (even talking about) any investment. Just think about it, now they're unemployed, their daily needs are for today, a week or a month ahead.

Quote
Because bitcoin crypto currency is completely illegal in my country. So how can I help my friends in this regard?
Sad to know, I have no way to take them against regulation.
