961  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-23] Bitcoin 'doesn't solve a main need in society right now, on: October 26, 2017, 01:11:51 AM

"The purpose it [bitcoin] seems to serve today is really to help move money in a hidden way and facilitate, potentially facilitate, criminal activity of moving money in an undetected way," McKay told CNBC in an episode of Life Hacks Live.

Well they are defending their empire which is the bank so it is not surprising that they would say something like this. It may be effective for the people who doesn't know bitcoin but for those who are already in the community knows that it is the negative side of bitcoin but it has more positive side also which they don't expose that much. There's no need to explain it to the people who are here in the forum but we as a community should spread the word as well the positive side of bitcoin if we wanted people to know that its just media manipulation and there's more to bitcoin than just being a currency for illegal activities.

"I think some people will call it a fraud. I don't think it's fraudulent … But it doesn't solve a main need in society right now."

Obviously, they are just closing their eyes to the reality that it is already solving the problem of some countries right now. Those who are experiencing hyperinflation find refuge in bitcoin so they just cannot easily say that it doesn't solve a main need in society now.

962  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: New educational game about cryptocurrency exchange market is coming! on: October 26, 2017, 12:40:41 AM
Hi guys!
I highly recommend you a new educational game - edu.CoinDeal.com - that simulates a real cryptocurrency exchange market. This platform will let you play with Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum entirely for free. No financial risk game is a great way to practice your skills as an investor and make even the most dangerous transactions. If you are an investor, you can practice how to be a better one. Or if you are just a beginner, this platform is a good start to learn how to play on a real exchange market. The game starts 30th of October, and for a start, you get 10.000 virtual dollars, then you play however you want. The best players are rewarded with the Bitcoin prizes! I think it's a great opportunity to test your skills and prepare for a real investment in a cryptocurrency exchange market Smiley

This would be a good way to learn the market because you get to have a demo account and then have a prize then if you are one of the top earners. There are demo accounts in forex trading as well so that traders can trade real time without losing real money and its good to see a site that have demo account in cryptocurrency trading as well. This is good especially to the newbies who want to get a feel of the market and because of the market volatility, traders would be able to experience how volatile it is and will know how fast to lost and have profit from it.

964  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Would you use crypto-currency to buy appliances? on: October 25, 2017, 03:39:43 AM
It would be a good idea to have bitcoin as payment option in buying appliances since more businesses are getting involved in blockchain technology. We know that there are bitcoin debit cards but if someone can pay directly bitcoin from the wallet with lesser fees then that would be an advantage. I agree with the suggestion of having a discount or points perhaps when purchasing through bitcoin so that more people would be encourage to use it and those that are not aware of bitcoin yet would be curious as to what it is. Being the pioneer in your industry to make bitcoin as an option would be a big step towards bitcoin adoption because if you will be successful then others would follow suit as well.
965  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin is ...nothing,acording to my country`s laws. on: October 23, 2017, 06:58:05 AM
I live in a country in the EU and i tried to get some information about how can i pay my taxes for my btc revenue.
Acording to my country`s legislation:
1.Bitcoin isn`t  digital money.
2.Bitcoin isn`t a digital asset.
Acording to the laws, bitcoin is nothing...BUT acording to the same legislation,i`m obligated to pay taxes for all my revenues, including the income from online trading. What if all my income comes from bitcoin trading?
Do i have to pay any taxes or no?Sorry,if this questions is asked here before.
Is this ridiculous?

Well it seems that your country needs to classify what bitcoin really is so that they can have the proper law applied to a certain security or source of income. If you are earning revenue from bitcoin trading and you are obligated to pay from online trading then I think you should pay taxes because once they track you are earning from it and not paying then maybe they will have surcharges and interest charge in addition for your tax liability making you liable for more than the amount you should pay for when you reported and payed it at the right time.
966  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-19] Stock Market Bear Sets $1 Million Bitcoin Price Target on: October 21, 2017, 02:14:38 AM
Well if this would happen then lucky for us to be able to get in while price is not that high. Looking at the demand of bitcoin now and given the limited supply, it is possible that price of $1 Million could be achieved given that there will be no FUD that would make the investors shift their attention to other investment option. Bitcoin is an attractive investment now because of the huge returns one can generate in a short amount of time and as more investors money come in, the higher the price but then due to the new people coming in still having doubts, there is a huge volatility happening which is also an advantage to the traders having many trading opportunities to have a favorable position.
967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Alt coin trading exchanges on: October 19, 2017, 03:45:25 AM
Hey guys,

I'm looking for exchanges with lots of alt coins listing or exchanges that are actively listing new coins.
Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Bittrex has some issues nowadays because they are closing accounts without informing the owners but so far I think they are the best exchange because they have a lot of coins. Poloniex is good too but their customer support is bad and some issues in withdrawals as well. I have not use binance but their coin listings are growing so you might want to check it out. Yobit has a lot of coins also but there are some issues of wallet maintenance and withdrawals too. Well you can check more for exchanges in this board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=223.0
968  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the risk of holding Bitcoin? on: October 19, 2017, 03:20:51 AM
As I said in the title. I was interested in putting my money into Bitcoin because of the ever-increasing price.
But I want to know what the biggest risk is to hold Bitcoin?

You risk of having a worthless coin in the future if people decided not to use bitcoin anymore. Bitcoin is having worth right now because of the strong demand of people and due to its limited supply, it keeps going up but remember that it is worthless before so there is a possibility that it could become worthless again. You should only put money into bitcoin if you can afford to lose it because anything can happen. Though you cannot imagine now that bitcoin could become worthless again, there is still that possibility so diversify your investment and not focus on bitcoin only.
969  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: It is good to invest money to a btc doubler mining sites??? on: October 19, 2017, 02:42:34 AM
it is good to invest money to a btc doubler miner sites?? Undecided Undecided

Definitely not. It is an obvious pyramiding scheme just to scam people who are greedy enough to get money as fast as they can without putting any effort. This doubler sites will tell you that in just 1 day or 100 hours they will double your money without even having proof where they can get that amount in such a short amount of time so definitely it is a scam. I am actually guilty of investing with them before because I want to have an easy money so I am immediately entice to invest into it and end up losing that amount which is not that big but still worth something especially with the price of bitcoin now. If no one will invest with them then they will stop with their scheme because it is not effective but there are still so many people who are joining this kind of activity.
970  Economy / Economics / Re: The magic of Money management on: October 19, 2017, 02:20:50 AM
Every experienced trader will say the money management in trading is the important thing to keep your account alive and for my experience in trading I lose many accounts die first to bad money management and second for greed and getting more and more money, after all this bad experiences and when I keep money management in my eyes now I get my money adjusted with my capital and I required for every trader to give the most important attention for money management.

The rules for money management for me:
1. Make goals that could actually be achieved with your skill level
2. Always trade with a stop loss
3. Never over trade your account
4. Trust your indicators
5. Always protect profits
6. Trade with investment capital, not grocery money

and for you what is your experience with money management ?

When I started trading, I have the worst money management because I tend to get greedy when I see that the trade is going the right way and I only put a small amount so without even studying the charts, I would go all in so that I can have bigger profits even if the price is already high and it seems that a reversal is approaching but then I already bought it so instead of having profits in that particular trade, I end up with a loss because of greediness and it didn't happen only once because I experience it many times so I need to control my emotions when trading because I already lose a lot because of it.

One mistake also is that I am holding on to a particular coin even if the loss is already half of the total amount I bought it because I didn't have a stop loss. When I am already in profits, I refuse to take it hoping to have more and then price suddenly drops and end up with a loss. I am slowly learning with my mistakes and I am slowly gaining because of the rules as what you stated OP.
971  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Medicine and cryptocurrency on: October 19, 2017, 02:07:30 AM
Give me your opinion about… Can the blockchain be applicable for the medical sector? Explain your pros and cons please. Thank you.

I think you can apply blockchain technology in the information about medicines and practices and its effectiveness with few actual documentations of the people who take it or undergo with a certain treatment without the need of disclosing names just name of the hospital or place and then if the doctor wants to know more information then he can just directly contact the hospital where the medicine is actually use or the treatment is performed. This way, doctors will have an idea if a particular sickness or disease has some suggested medicines if they don't have experience with it before.
972  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-16] South Korea will impose Bitcoin tax on: October 19, 2017, 01:53:21 AM
Do they know what bitcoin is? How are they gonna tax bitcoin? VIA WHAT? Via exchanging it into fiat money? or Via Products/Services?. They should at least take time to learn what cryptocurrency is before going to the point of taxing it without even knowing what is it.
Laws and Regulations are needed to be imposed first before going to the taxing issues.

They would classify bitcoin as asset like what Japan and USA did so that they can tax it like how they tax fiat money. This is not surprising as government would want to have a share as well to the income generated by the people from cryptocurrency. It is hard to track the transactions but they can tax the exchanges implementing the transactions so the platforms or exchanges can pass the tax to its users and in effect, they can still have a tax even if they don't specifically know who are the people behind those transactions.
973  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: What are the main Bitcoin scams and how do you protect yourself against them? on: October 19, 2017, 01:41:02 AM

When transacting, always be vigilant and skeptic because you'll never know if the site or person you are transacting with is still the same site or person before. Always secure your transactions and always check the sites if it is the correct URL because just a little tweak of the site may deceive your eyes not noticing that it is a phishing site. With so many airdrops and ICOs nowadays, there are some that requires a wallet download and maybe that wallet has a virus to get your data and you end up with nothing the next time you check your funds. As for investment, I would not invest to a HYIP site because I have been scam a lot of times before being a newbie so I learned my lesson well.
974  Economy / Marketplace / Re: 1 Year in Cryptocurrency still no luck earning bitcoin. Need some real advice. on: October 18, 2017, 02:28:16 AM
Need some expert or real advice on how I can earn bitcoin. thanks

Go to your local boards I think they can really help you out there.

You said you are already 1 year in crypto but your account is current? Where have you been in those 1 year? If you have frequented this forum in those 1 year I'm sure you have learn a lot of things by now. So I doubt that you are really in crypto for 1 year. Sorry dude but there's something not correct here.

Maybe he is already one year in crypto but have not discovered this forum. There are so many possibilities. Just because his account is a newbie doesn't mean that he did not try to earn in a year. Maybe he found this forum before but not interested because in my experience, I have known this forum a little later months after I have known bitcoin and was not interested to it at first.

As for the advice, since you are a newbie, you need to rank up first so that you can have many earning opportunities in this forum. Newbies have earning opportunities as well but only limited. If you have skills then go to services section and offer your skills. There are many people looking for someone with a specific skill and if you have that then you can try to negotiate to that person. You need to work hard to earn so that later on when you have the reputation, then it would be easier for you to market yourself.
975  Economy / Economics / Re: Generating Passive Income on: October 18, 2017, 01:55:42 AM
You can put your bitcoin in bitfinex and then go to margin funding. You can let other traders borrow your funds for some interest depending on how much you will charge them and you can set up a daily or term basis. Minimum funding would be $50. I know someone who got involve with this and has been an early adopter of bitcoin and now he just margin fund some of his money and earn more than $1,000 a day. This is literally passive income cause you are not doing anything but earning. You can also try PoS (Proof of Stake). There are many coins out there that offer this. You just have to stake your coins and some has ridiculously high returns like B3 Coin having 20% per day return.
976  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Cryptonomy on: October 18, 2017, 01:39:58 AM
For all those who replied about waiting for an android version, I just put up a website where you can sign up to get an email once the web & android version are out, so make to sign up here:

https://cryptonomynow.com

Cheers!

I just sign-up cause I am waiting for the android version. It's good to know that there is an all-in one app to track the current happenings of the crypto world. As the popularity of cryptocurrency is increasing, there are many fake news that emerge as well to manipulate the people especially the traders so that they will buy a coin and in the end it is a fake news after all. With this app, I am hoping it would be a big help to be updated to the true news and updates. It seems that the feedback of the iOS users is good so I am excited to have it in android version as well.
977  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Investigative Journalism on the Blockchain on: October 18, 2017, 01:23:13 AM
This is a good idea as there are so many killings nowadays whose justice cannot be served well because of lack of evidence. If this will be implemented, it would be a big help for journalists who are risking their lives for the people to know the truth. There are so many fake news nowadays may it be in social media or mainstream television and it's hard to know what is the truth so if people have access to first hand information then it can help solve the crimes or at least save the journalists from being abused or killed because their enemies might be afraid of the exposure they will get if they do something to people who are against them.
978  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin replace gold? on: October 18, 2017, 01:01:26 AM
Gold in general is no better. The value of gold is nothing more than a result of a global consensus - at the moment everyone agrees to consider gold a measure of value, simply because this measure is in some form or another necessary. If we assume a utopian situation, that tomorrow everyone agrees that gold is not such a measure, then it will be good only for the production of quality wires and trinkets.
The btc is gaining momentum for exactly the same reason - the global consensus towards the btc is constantly being strengthened. In this case, unlike gold, the cue-ball is not only a measure of value, but also a settlement system, and gold is not a competitor for this parameter.

As what you said, bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general has different features than what gold has. Gold is a physical asset while bitcoin is a digital one so bitcoin cannot replace gold but maybe a different version of it. Both of them can be classified as asset and as store of value and both can be use as payment option but gold has certain limitations compared to bitcoin that is divisible. Though it may look like bitcoin is replacing gold, it may only be to the point of view of cryptocurrency enthusiast because crypto is not yet that known and gold is popular worldwide so crypto has still a long way to go than what gold has already taken.
979  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cryptocurrency regulation? on: October 18, 2017, 12:49:31 AM
No doubt about the future of fiat money: it's gonna be replaced by cryptocurrencies.
But does virtual money need a REGULATOR?

Though we can see that cryptocurrency ecosystem is flourishing right now, currency that has true value can only be counted by hand and I don't think that fiat money can be replaced totally with cryptocurrencies. it can be one alternative as payment but it will never be able to eliminate fiat because there are still so many places in the world not engage digitally. It would be hard to implement something not even accessible by everyone. Though there are news about some places going cashless, still they can do it because they have a small population so it is easier to implement something if everyone can participate.

Regarding regulations, people like cryptocurrency because no one is controlling it but then the government doesn't want to let go of its control to the people so they will create a law to have a hold of the people who use cryptocurrency by regulating it. I think there is a need for a regulation but to some extent because regulations are created for the protection of the people.
980  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC effect on altcoins on: October 17, 2017, 02:21:46 AM
Yes, Bitcoin's price always influences the Altcoin. If Bitcoin will pump obviously Altcoin will dump. And when Bitcoin dumps Altcoin will pump. Sometimes it goes to 2x or more.

I feel something fishy about ongoing processes in markets. Big altcoin sell orders are disapperaing in bittrex but 5 minute later same order appears on poloniex. Prices are heavily speculated by traders and end of story doesnt look like good...

We know that the markets are manipulated by whales because it is not regulated so they can do whatever they can. For us small time traders, we need to know or at least have an idea of what the whales are doing so that we can ride their trades. Many professional traders can read the market and can identify an unusual movement that's why they are profitable so for us or at least for me, I need to always be careful with my trades because a lot of manipulation is going on so we should always protect our funds by having stop loss in place and not be greedy when the price goes up as the prices in altcoin is very volatile and pumps and dumps happen more often.
