981  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Announcing bitdoubler.io on: September 24, 2017, 01:39:18 AM
Doublespending is another word for scamming. Not sure what your rationale is for developing such a site but what you are encouraging here is plain wrong. As you can see above, there is someone attempting to doublespend a Shapeshift transaction. In other words, he probably wants to gain twice of what is supposed to be a single-value once-off transaction.

A bitcoin payment is supposed to be one which can't be manipulated or reversed. The idea of doublespending is grounded on the premise of successfully spending some money more than once, blatantly contradicting the most basic expectation of bitcoin being an irreversible and final transaction. Doublespending will always lead to some kind of loss or damage. Not sure why you are happily and positively encouraging it here.

982  Economy / Services / Re: Lestraw's Escrow Services on: September 24, 2017, 01:17:33 AM
How can I remove or hide this thread?

Too late. I now see that unsightly ugly red mark below your user name. This is what happens when you post or open threads which don't make sense at all, despite the good intentions you initially had. Offering escrow services with a newbie account raises suspicions and as a precaution, trusted members tend to tag such accounts for the protection of anyone naive enough to fall for your offer.

You can lock the thread and archive it but the account is ruined. That red mark tells people to be careful when dealing, transacting or trading with you.

Yes, there are many scams here but there are also many trusted escrow providers here. They are people who have mediated hundreds if not even more transactions, acted as trusted middle men and have proven time and again that assets they are entrusted with are in safe hands.

I myself can't and won't even dare offer an escrow service. I may be a hero member but I am simply not trusted enough here to brazenly ask people to send me their bitcoins for safekeeping.
983  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] iPhone 7 Plus on: September 24, 2017, 01:06:48 AM
Used for a couple of months and you initially wanted $800?? That alone already questions where you stand morally in this entire story. Basically and initially you were attempting to sell the phone overpriced, hoping somebody would buy it quickly and later realize (too late) he overpaid for a used phone. A couple of months is extremely used, totally second hand and depreciates the value of the phone heavily, especially now that new iPhone models were released.

You basically wanted to shaft someone by asking $800 for your very used phone so you can use the money to buy an iPhone 8. That's just questionable.
984  Economy / Lending / Re: Serious Investors ONLY - Mining Farm with Instant Returns on: September 24, 2017, 12:55:25 AM
Investment or loan.. you will need collateral for the lender's or investor's safety. That's the equation and it's that simple. A promise to pay in the future or "whenever convenient" is no longer a valid and reliable collateral. To help you understand the rationale behind this, let's reverse roles and let me ask you this: would you please loan me two or three of your mining rigs or send me some bitcoins to buy some? I promise to pay you back next year. Not sure when I can pay but I'll let you know if or when it happens. Would you do this?

Investing in a project is akin to loaning money. It just sounds more flowery and professional and business-like, giving the whole proposal a sense of legitimacy. It is still borrowing money with the intention to repay it back in the future. It is that intention which needs to be secured and solidified and it is collateral that gives the investor or lender the peace of mind for this.

Provide collateral and people might invest in your farm.

985  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mayzus Financial Services: btc-e, OKPay, MoneyPolo... on: September 24, 2017, 12:44:38 AM
If you touch these services, you will burn your fingers... and your wallet and bank account.

These group of exchanges are run by a consortium of felons. As you can see, they operate in jurisdictions where you will find it extremely difficult to recover your funds in the event of the inevitable. Take for example btc-e, even if say they weren't seized, your best option would be to beg and plead for them to return your funds. No chance or recourse if you opt for something along the lines of approaching the Russian authorities in person.

Mayzus.. this word has been on the web for years. They seem to operate with impunity. Their Czech bank won't close their accounts, despite floods of complaints. Czech authorities won't touch them.

986  Economy / Lending / Re: bitcoin loan service low amount on: September 24, 2017, 12:25:07 AM
I know what you are up to....

You requested a loan and was refused. So you walked in circles thinking how, for Pete's sake, can I get bitcoins off these pesky lenders without using collateral. Impossible of course. So you spent hours thinking of ways, conjuring schemes... then an idea.

Offer loans and ask for collateral. But then the catch.. whoever wants the "loan" must send you collateral first. So this is a collateral scam. A scam where you steal the collateral before you even give the loan.

It's an old scam. Many have tried and failed.

987  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Buy first BTC with unverified identity by direct debit on: September 24, 2017, 12:12:45 AM
Hi,
I would like to buy my first bitcoins by direct debit, but I'd prefer not to do the verification process, at least initially.
Is there a website that allows that?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Credit cards are high risk payment methods as they can be charged back. Why wouldn't you like to undergo a verification process? Even the most basic form of verification? Is it because the card is not yours? Or perhaps you don't own the card?

Unverified card-not-present transactions are extremely rare. Most merchants are very cautious and will not part with their goods (in this case, bitcoins) unless they are definitely certain that funds are cleared and good. Disputing a chargeback is heavy work, especially if you have a stubborn scammer working on the other end.

If you find a brick and mortar location where someone sells bitcoins and accepts credit card payments, then this is the only way you can do this without verification. That's because the merchant can sight the card and settle the transaction on the terminal before you have a chance to do something fishy.

As for online options, I doubt there are any. If you do find one or two, beware. You might not get any bitcoins and instead you will see suspicious amounts debited from your card in the future.

988  Economy / Exchanges / Centra Tech on: September 23, 2017, 09:20:57 AM
Is this legit or?  https://www.centra.tech/

Nice high-end cards in their portfolio:

https://www.centra.tech/products/index.html

But hefty contributions. Even for the most basic card.

No mention about issuing bank.

Headquarters address is a "suite" (usually a mailbox of some kind) but maybe a real suite. Not sure.

989  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Erotic toothpaste a SCAMMER 2.2BTC on: September 23, 2017, 07:15:41 AM
RealHummer claimed to be scammed by user Yoandy10 on the below link and deleted his thread posts now he is scammed again? Don't trust RealHummer he is the same person setting the mode to scam you in the future making you think you can trust him since he has been scammed before.

Free Trial Work:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2141175.0

We will dox all scammers that continue to scam on bitcointalk.org and we will provide authorites the proper information to bring these criminals to justice.

-Backend

Mind doxing yourself, in light of your current trust issues? That would be a good start. Publish results here and perhaps sales will spike if people here see real results.

For now, that red below your user name is an ugly mark. It's right there, I see it even when I avert my gave a bit, tarnishing your name.

Scammers here seem to be stealing with impunity. That's because they operate with anonymity and then you have naive, slow thinking users here feeding these criminals with free bitcoins. Doxing some of them is very challenging, if not impossible, even if you have the best blockchain analysis tools and identity tracing methodologies out there.
990  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone know best and reliable bitcoin mixer? on: September 23, 2017, 07:05:03 AM
Ditto. I can recommend the mixer shown on my signature. Chipmixer is a proven and reliable mixing service. I too have used them for amounts in the thousands of $ for bitcoins paid to me by a business partner in China. In light of China's growing crackdown on crypto-related services, I prefer to mix coins I receive from that country, even if I know the person I deal with is someone who has clean and genuine business activities. Good to take precautions in these paranoid times, especially as I travel to Hong Kong often.

Chipmixer is an easy to understand and easy to use system. Try it and you will never look back.

991  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have Perfect Money $25K Want Bitcoin/ETH on: September 23, 2017, 05:33:52 AM
The guy is probably cross eyed and thinks he has 6767 posts and not 67.

He is relentlessly pushing you to go first with the $25,000 PM.

Scammers usually act this way. When they see a potential target, they focus on it stubbornly.

OP, if he insists on doing this trade, use escrow. Do not give in and accept any kind of sans-escrow arrangement. Not even a proposal to break down the amount in smaller tranches. One of the tactics used by scammers is to ask their victims to send smaller amounts first. They will honor the transaction and settle as planned (say, for $500). It's a false trust-building scenario. They try to get you to trust them with a successful small amount. On the second transaction, they will ask you to send first (on the strength of the previous transaction they completed "honestly"). They usually insist that you send the remaining (larger) amount first for the second transaction. This is when they strike and don't pay.

Another tactic is to lure you to send a small amount first (say, $500 of the $25k). Then they will hold the first transaction hostage until you send more and more.

Do not fall for it. Use escrow ALWAYS.

992  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] PayPal [W} BTC on: September 23, 2017, 01:23:05 AM
Yep, suspicious as heck. As advised above, lock the thread if you don't want to be painted red.

PayPal is highly reversible and the "nice" approach here won't do the trick. PayPal is a high risk payment method, which ever angle you look at it from.

If you have to start somewhere, start with something that is not reversible, then build and grow from there. When you have an established track record of trading honestly, then there is a chance someone somewhere might consider taking PayPal payments from you.

For now, you're right, this has a very low chance of success.

993  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have Perfect Money $25K Want Bitcoin/ETH on: September 22, 2017, 11:35:57 PM

I might be thinking about doing this trade with youu. I will ask you to go first definetly. I won't lose 2% because of you, not even 1%. Even more, the phase with 6 confirmations it is useless.

I want to ask. Are you a newbie?

^ This guy.. not sure what's going on in this guy's head. But I'm almost convinced he plans to scam here.

He want OP to go first with the $25k PM. He asks if he is a newbie when he himself is fairly new here. Then he goes on an on with this garbage about losing this or that percentage and the confirmations bla bla. All empty talk to try to divert the central scam element which is you go first.

Use escrow only. No going first here. OP, suggest escrow to this guy I quoted above this post of mine. I can assure you he won't be heard of again.

994  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ViaBTC to launch bitcoin exchange overseas after Beijing bans trading at home on: September 22, 2017, 11:23:52 PM
Is it just the exchange which will cease to operate or which they are displacing? Or their entire company? Will this affect their mining operation? I'm asking because they have an excellent transaction accelerator. Not sure if that will stop too.

China is aggressively going after the corrupt rich. Bitcoin is viewed as a way to channel the proceeds of corruption which is why it is a target of authorities.

ViaBTC should shift their operations to Taiwan. It is a bitcoin-friendly jurisdiction.
995  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 2 Btc loan on: September 22, 2017, 11:11:41 PM
Relatively recently I learned about the world of crypto-currency. After studying the market I found a crypto currency, which I want to support (the market will be released early next year). Since I was not ready for this, I do not have money at this time to invest in it. So I want to take a loan.
But I can guarantee that I can pay the loan even if my investments are unprofitable.
I agree to 6% for 6 months (or offer your terms)
The refund is possible in installments, if you so wish, or at once I will refund the entire amount at the end of the loan term.

Hey you have a new account here. And you want to borrow $7000+. Quickly edit your post and offer some kind of collateral before someone destroys your trust rating. Yes, it you are not aware or familiar, it's that "trust" below your user name. When you do things here like scams or try to borrow money without any kind of collateral, that trust will show an ugly red mark. And when that happens, guess what follows. Yes, nobody will ever want to trade or transact with you.

But what am I even typing this for. I'm sure this isn't or wasn't your first time here. Is this really your first account? Or even better, will this be your last account here? Or more to follow?
996  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] BTC and LTC [W] Wechat Money on: September 22, 2017, 11:43:55 AM
Want Wechat money, pm me if you want to trade.
I also have most crypto.

Is this what you're looking for https://wechat.co.za/wallet/ ?

I think he needs the popular Chinese version:

https://pay.weixin.qq.com/index.php/public/wechatpay

But maybe I'm mistaken. OP can confirm which WeChat payment channel he needs.

997  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Sell your BTC in London for Cash in person. We are buying Bitcoins for GBP. on: September 22, 2017, 11:35:04 AM
What safety guarantees can you offers sellers? I'm asking because there were stories on the Localbitcoins forum earlier this year about a group of persons inviting to trade at cafes in London and during the trade a Mickey Mouse incident ensued. One of the stories quoted from Localbitcoins:

http://bit.ly/2wclIFM
http://bit.ly/2jPmKWJ

More stories on the Localbitcoins forum collectively backing up these incidents. I'm not saying you intend to do this but in light of this trend of assault-and-steal pattern of crimes, what guarantees can you provide assuring this will not happen? I notice you have a 3-week old LBC account, all the more reason to invite some form of guarantee or at least explain here how the transaction will take place.

Why not use an escrow provider here?

998  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have PP, Want BTC on: September 22, 2017, 04:11:47 AM
Why shouldn't anyone be worried about "scamming and all"? You have a zero-trust account, you offer to use a high risk, reversible payment method and you want to trade outside the forum on Skype. PayPal is reversible up to 180 days from the day of payment so there is a very real reason to worry about "scamming and all".

Verified or unverified, PayPal payments are reversible. Simply concoct a story about how the payment was not authorized or how how your account was hacked or just tell PayPal you paid for bitcoin, all these are reasons for a reversal. PayPal is anti-bitcoin so they usually reverse transactions involving cryptocurrencies.

No wonder you can do this without hesitation. That's because you know you can reverse the payment later.

999  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Would Like To Buy a High Level Account on: September 21, 2017, 11:45:56 PM
Anybody selling a high level bitcointalk account let me know, with price will pay in bitcoin or ethereum whichever youd like  Smiley

What do you intend to do with the account? Buying accounts is usually a precursor for committing scams. Or for defrauding signature campaigns. Although not illegal, it is definitely discouraged and is treated with suspicion.

Because they are used for scams and for other fraudulent activity, buyers and sellers of such accounts (and the account itself) should be tagged by a DT member to avoid misuse of the traded account. Tagging is a precautionary and deterrent measure to protect other users from potential scams and scammers.

It's also shady practice to see someone jump from newbie level to hero member or even legendary by simply paying a few coins. Not nice.

1000  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer - mixing reinvented on: September 21, 2017, 11:30:33 PM
I suspected as much, but figured it wasn't my place to say so... honestly, why do people do this sort of thing? What do they gain out of it? Huh

Perhaps other mixers desperate to destroy the competition? There are some with a dodgy reputation who are probably struggling to lure victims. Then you have those offering genuine and legitimate mixing services but can't make ends meet with the low turnover from the few users mixing coins on their sites.

Then of course you have those malicious actors who take pleasure in destroying other people's work or who resent their success.

Envy knows no bounds. People filled with it will do things that cross the bounds of human decency.
