Ya people are not going to send cash via mail. If you know where to buy in 10 min without a month long verification process, excessive fees, or sending bank wire or cash deposited to a stranger's account. Please enlighten us.

That is just your public wallet. I know you have coins because you are a lifetime member to the foundation. I think when I looked it was thousands of dollars that could only be paid in coins  Grin

Bitcoin has to be better than what people already use.

"The revolution will be monetized!"  or this will never happen

Hmmm. I buy coins all the time. It has never taken me more than 2hrs.

Really the first time you bought was less than 2 hrs.? This statement makes you look like a jack-ass everyone knows how hard it is to get coins.

BTW 2 hours is a long time.

985  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins vast overvaluation on: September 20, 2013, 02:35:37 PM
The point to me is something he just glosses over and that is that there is not an underlying market supporting the bitcoin price. Basically the whole bitcoin market is speculators with no real demand for coins other than drugs and gamblers and they dont need enough coins to justify the price. I dont really care about the other aspects of the artical.

It is like the housing market and the feds bond buying, The real market is not there for homes so they have to create artificial scarcity and use fed bond buying to prop up the price.

Reality will set in at some point, but i guess the saying goes the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

So Bit-pay single handedly attaining 10,000 merchant customers is equivalent to your bolded statement above?

It doesnt matter how many merchants accept bitcoin.. Bitcoin will never matter until people can actually get them! I see that all the time. We need more business to accept bitcoin. WTF does that matter? The problem with bitcoin is the same problem it had a year and a half ago when I got in. NO ONE CAN GET COINS! People are not going to send of their fiat via bank wire in mass.

Japan has had massive budget deficits for 2 decades and still has not collapsed. I am just trying to speed up the process a little.

You wont see that picture in the US. The US doesn't have the mechanisms necessary to create hyper inflation.  We will have a deflationary collapse where the dollar will become very scarce and very strong.

Never heard "starve the beast"? That is a tactic promoted in the libertarian movement. It is typically referred to in regards to taxation. Liberty candidates advocate for cutting tax revenues to such a great degree that the government stops functioning and is forced to enact massive budget cuts.

I support bitcoin because every transaction that happens with it is tax revenue that the state no longer has.

My goal is to defund the governments of the world.

They are not going to willfully let it happen. I told my family when I started that at some point i would probably be labeled a financial terrorist.

Bunch of pussies. I support bitcoin to "starve the beast." You think a beast is gonna willfully let you starve it?

Hey bitcoin people, I was wondering if anyone reputable would be able to help me out. I am wanting to purchase 1.00 BTC via PayPal. Anyone up for it?

I just need to warn you, if anything wrong happen with the BTC purchase, Paypal will refuse to help you.

I discovered this today, when asking them what is going on with my claim against BFL, they said because I bought BTC from BFL, Paypal is not in a position to help me get my refund. Because BFL misled Paypal in thinking I order BTC of them, when the fact is I ordered a hardware from them. After 30 minutes on the phone with Paypal, they then asked me to show them the website where I ordered my hardware, they then realised they were misled by BFL in thinking I bought BTC from them. Then Paypal explained to me, if I ordered BTC using Paypal, they can't protect me if I don't receive my BTC, that is Paypal's policy. So now that they realised I order a hardware, they will be looking into getting a charge back for me.

So now you know, it is dangerous to buy BTC using Paypal. As under their policy they will not help you, if you don't get your BTC.

There is a lot of truth in here but it is not quite right. It is much harder to charge back PP than people think and there is a couple types of transactions that they wont reverse but it really depends on how it was funded and sent.
