981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A solo Bitcoin miner just won block 718214 reward worth 6.25 $BTC on: January 17, 2022, 10:45:28 AM
Just arrived here because of the title,,, and now I am reading the latest discussions saying this guy is not one guy but many people,,, but at the same time it is a solo miner?

So it is like saying, instead of 10 football teams trying to form a league, it is only one football team that also has 23 people on the squad.

A solo team.

I got this right, right? Smiley

West Ham are probably one of the better teams which struggle with constant inconsistency. They're infuriating from a betting stand point, because you just aren't sure what they'll do next. Hearing that Rafa has been sacked by Everton. I'd say from a Liverpool stand point, his tenure was one of the best in recent memory for them.

Liverpool doing well today, and performing above my expectations, without the main two I was expecting a 2-0 victory. I've got renewed while AFCON continues, so hopefully we don't drop any points, win our games in hand, and we might still have a chance to challenge Manchester City or am I a little bit too optimistic?

I wonder if this is the same to be said of my own team Spurs,,, or if this was something we could only say two or three seasons ago. Great odds to bet on and sometimes you watch and it is so great to see them play,,, but from one swing to another they can show up and disappear.

No words for Rafa. Imagine living in a city where both clubs sacked you,,, it will be hard on him.

Do not give up. Push City to the limits. All they need is a favor from Palace again, and who knows even United Smiley

Sorry Liverpool fans. Great win but not enough points for low bust, while French game was high bust. You were right buway about goals and many corners, unfortunately Brentford didn't even manage to get 1 corner, if they played rougher maybe you would push,,, but 2 busts yesterday so we are looking for another BJ for January Smiley

Anybody watched Atalanta - Inter? I was playing futsal and then looked at the score and almost broke my phone. I needed only both to score in this game to salvage a bad day at the bookies. How is it possible for these two teams to play 0:0?

At least rdbase and I were the only ones getting point in the pool for predicting draw. Somehow that one point for my 2:2 prediction sounds too little especially when rdbase gets the same for 4:4 prediction. I would not give you more than 0.5 points man Tongue

Grin at rdbase getting the same points as you for a draw!!

I did not watch the game of course, I hardly can watch anything on Europe time these days because of work shifts and sleep but yes,,, any time two of the most high-scoring teams play and get 0 goals, you can be sure a lot of us lost money,,, and me worse,,, this weekend I made a lot of bets, and every single one lost, which is not usual for me as I usually only lose 8-9 out of 10  Grin

Unfortunately, French football did not give us the good joy we all wanted and it was a high bust (very high at 28) that took our hopes away. I did not watch the game,,, so it is hard to tell how many points it was by half time because the report I found did not seem to collect all of the corners.

Anyway, today is Liverpool again it seems like a favorite option. Can their lowly squad win for us @LFC_Bitcoin @buwaytress ?

Now Senegal drew today so they are also even with us who bet on Egypt and Algeria. And just as you said about more goals, the biggest teams failed to score again,,, but interestingly both took 7 corners each, which has not always been easy to get even for 1 team in this AFCON.

I guess now we will see almost every group have no 9-point winner at least not the way things are going for now.
This is really worse AFCON Even the top players look lost on the field, the entire team comes into the game with a defensive mindset, sit back, play on the counter, score a goal, and then sit back the rest of the game, I must say I'm disappointed so far, but sure, I've been making a little money with my HT under 1.5 goals. Mane has been a disaster since the tournament began..

I do not have access to all of the games,,, there are only a few selected ones, 2 from every matchday in the group stages,,, so to be fair also I guess I cannot say it is equal for all the games but from the ones I saw, you are right. I saw one Senegal game yesterday, I saw the first day Cameroon, everyone is playing like they are scared. Running hard is all they try, they do not even dare to do tricks or take risks.

I could not figure out if Mane plays point striker or supporter when I watched. He was as if he did not need to be there.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet AFCON prediction pool discussion thread on: January 14, 2022, 04:05:23 PM
2 more match days before group stage is over. Seems like host nation Cameroon was a very good bet for those who took the special. Egypt and Algeria did not win so no prizes for us Smiley
Algeria at least played something and they were unlucky not to score some goals. I still expect them to pass the group and get more dangerous as the tournament progress. Egypt looked awful and I am not even sure they can claw their way out of the group stage.

We started getting some goals yesterday, now I am torn between keeping to 1:0 scores or getting back to normal Smiley

Now Senegal drew today so they are also even with us who bet on Egypt and Algeria. And just as you said about more goals, the biggest teams failed to score again,,, but interestingly both took 7 corners each, which has not always been easy to get even for 1 team in this AFCON.

Too technical for me to understand but I always thought if you use Bitcoin, then you use Bitcoin. OR nowadays do companies build applications on another blockchain and then use it to connect with BTC? What would the purpose of that be? There is already Lightning for offchain purpose settlements right?

I am totally confused here.

Hamstercoin, WTF coin, are we kidding ourselves that this is not gambling?

Congratulations to Harkorede for getting the yellow cap in this first round,,, I actually managed to get 12 points from exact scores, so I am very happy that the tournament has put me in second place (so far).

992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 14, 2022, 08:13:58 AM
Even when I knew both club lack some players yesterday, I still chose Liverpool to win, but the match ended draw, Arsenal team indeed tried. When Granit Xhaka had red card at the 24th minute of the match, I was thinking it has given Liverpool more chance to win and that Liverpool will indeed win the match. The first half ended draw while also the second half also ended draw. It is very clear how Mane and Salah are both trying for Liverpool.

I watched the game even though my team is out. I was wishing for a Spurs Liverpool final so we could take our revenge against them in the Champions League final,,, still hurts me. But Chelsea knocked us out so I watched this one even though it was SO late for me.

I have to say, Arsenal look so scared with 10 men, and Liverpool look so weak without Salah and Mane,,, as if they have no ideas when they want to break men behind the bus!

994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Play2earn games on: January 13, 2022, 01:31:33 PM
Not really,,, real gamers actually put game experience far above anything else, earning should be an additional incentive, not the main pull of the game, as you can tell from millions of gamers who still play the same games after many years.

If NFT tokens stop being so profitable on Play2earn games, will the users still continue playing the games? I guess we'll see.
It's still a mistery if once the hype ends the games will remain functional. I think a good example to be watched is Axie Infinity which seems to have lost its momentum, as there isn't a constant flux of new players anymore to keep the prices of the axies and SLP expensive.

The problem with these games is sustainability. The infinite supply of raw materials created in game are too much at some point to maintain the perfect balance between demand and supply. Furthermore, players who cheat the games through methods to automatize the gameplay (bots) are a big issue at online games in general, which totally crash games' economies, devaluing goods' values and creating excessive supply.

If play to earn games' developers where able to ban bots, the economy would become more competitive, healthy and encouraging to legit players to invest their time and money on this activity. Sadly it doesn't happen, consequently making some players suspect the platforms' managers benefit themselves somehow by the chaos promoted by the cheaters...

To me it is not a mystery,,, there will be no games left. Actually you just need to go to visit Pancakeswap or BSC lists and see how many P2E games launched since 3 months and how many are already dead.

Axie was one of the first mover so no question they have funds to develop more game stories and characters etc.

And good point about infinite supply,,, NFT supposed to be "rare". Funny right  Grin
995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: COPA just won its first hearing against Craig on: January 13, 2022, 12:22:45 PM
So Jack Dorsey is starting an organization to provide funding for the legal defense of the developers, starting with this current case. I'm not sure how that fits with the ruling I posted above that CSW will have to pay a deposit up front to cover their legal costs, but it's a welcome development nonetheless.

Thank you for the explanation,,, I must admit when I read it I did not realize it was this serious. You are right that even if he has access it is meaningless but it is the principle of giving in to one mad man, then any numbers of madmen can do this in the future.

Was there not a fund also set up for Cobra previously,,, did that money get put to use? I would happily contribute a week signature earning to such a cause. We are little people but we know what is right.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 13, 2022, 10:54:28 AM
I would think everyone was happy for that result for the last game of the round. I have kept the same on the overall one at place 30 which we still have alot more to go so will be alright finishing in the top 20 by seasons end.
Both Southampton and West Ham did the pool proud and their fans. With both ending in clean sheets for the home squads.
But yes, alot of people did miss their picks for this round having these matches being played midweek. Due to the other tournaments in the league.

I guess so yes,,, I moved up two places, with the guy below me getting wooden spoon whoever shipley is, but kryptnick and darbit made the most of this round to climb up 4 and 6 places, very good job.

It is a crazy lot of time for sports now, I admit just putting all my picks in for AFCON games to avoid accidental misses.

If w have 18 more games and I climb 1 spot every game, I can get to #20  Grin
997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🎰 Sportsbet.io 🎰 "Soccer Blackjack" @ 21.00 odds on: January 13, 2022, 08:38:11 AM
Yes,,, it has been a pretty bad run of busts in the last 3 days and they are all low scoring points,,, I think in Africa Cup of Nations all the games are similar. 1 goal max, few corners and even few cards. And the big teams last night also played safe I guess even cups not as serious as leagues.

Or it is just luck Smiley

Nevertheless, Inter remains the best team so far because Inter only got one loss so far, at least it is a very good achievement and can guarantee for Inter to keep the Scudetto. I also realized that the points gap is very close, so there is no guarantee that they will easily get the title. But for me, when a team can consistently get points even if it's just one point to avoid losing, at least it's enough to prove that Inter are the better ones.

I guess you should know what you are talking about, judging from your superb performance in all of the pools,,, I will definitely be betting on Inter every game this season, even if they lose or draw,,, the winnings from the rest of their games should keep us all in profit.

To be honest I really thought they would not be this good after losing such a great coach plus Lukaku.

I would try to follow scores but if I lock, I cannot change  Grin
