321  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Power Supply - EVGA G2 1000Watt or Corsair RM1000 Watt on: March 10, 2015, 09:42:52 AM
I see lots of people getting the EVGA power supply, plus the G2 has a 10 year warranty on it and is less expensive than the RM1000 model. Anyone have or use the EVGA G2 1000 watt model?

What I can't find is the small adapter that you plug in so you can turn it on without the main board. With the RM1000 all I used was a 14pin plastic adapter with two pins added, but not entirely sure what this EVGA G2 needs. It has a 28 pin power connector, so having a hard time finding that little adapter you would plug in.

EVGA G2 1000 is indeed good unit. Jonnyguru give score 9.4 point.
322  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer s1 not mining anymore on: March 10, 2015, 04:48:32 AM
Hello, I have an antminer s1. It has been running fine for a few months now. While I was sleeping, I heard the miner make the beeping noise to signify that the internet was out. Decided to just deal with it afterwards. Well here I am. I restarted the device, and now it won't mine. There is a green light that blinks in one second intervals. On the mining status on in the web browser, it contains no values. Any idea on what the problem is? I tried restarting it from the browser as well. What can I try / test? Thanks for your time.

Try to restart your router & modem. Probably dns problem.
323  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: solo mining with multibit on: March 10, 2015, 04:45:27 AM
(OS:Arch Linux)
Hi I'm new to bitcoin Smiley
I installed multibit as my bitcoin wallet yesterday and now I want to mine some coins.
I tried bitminter but my GPU doesn't seem to support OpenCL.
so... I decided to mine with cpuminer and it requires server but I don't know how to turn multibit into server mode.

No need to run server mode if you want to solo mine. You can use solo pool like https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=763510.0
324  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 vs Spondoolies SP20 on: March 09, 2015, 03:48:19 AM
The answer is quite simple: Whatever one you can buy for the cheapest price per GH.

Actually quite more to it than that.

If you went by that remark, then you could buy an Antminer S1 for $20 with 200GH/s.
Which wouldn't make sense because of the huge power usage, noise and heat they generate. Just for example.  Wink

Read the topic.. S5 versus SP20. Where does an S1 come into this at all?

Both miners are newer generation and will under clock well for more efficiency. I would base my decision between them on purchase price.

325  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Best Thermometer for miner equipment? on: March 09, 2015, 03:06:03 AM
So I am doing mods to some mining equipment and I was looking at purchasing one of those common Infrared thermometers but is there a better one I could use ? I am replacing fans for the most part so I just need to make sure chips aren't running too hot, if anyone has a good link please let me know!

I would choose Fluke MT4 MAX IR Infrared -30 °C to 350 °C Handheld Laser Thermometer
326  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: antminer u1 no longer working on: March 09, 2015, 02:51:44 AM
hey everyone, i just got my antminer u1 up and running as a test rig to make sure i could get all my account and wallet settings etc, before i bought a stand alone unit.  it worked for a little while (slowly, but obviously expected) but when i disconnected the U1 to move it to a different USB slot and restarted CGminer i cant get it to run again. i dont think anything changed so could anyone tell me what im doing wrong please?  here is the cgminer window

Download zadig then reinstall the driver. For more information read here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=406149.0
327  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: CP210x USB to UART Bridget driver not installing on windows 8. on: March 09, 2015, 02:46:09 AM
I was able to get bfgminer running and now I don't receive any error messages but there are no devices found. I have two asic but since I can't install this driver I can't tell bfgminer what com ports to use.
Every tutorial I've watched points to this one driver but does this driver have any prerequisites that I am not aware of?

https://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx

What kind of miner?
You can also try cgminer & use zadig to install the driver.
328  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: ASIC Miner (Butterfly Labs Single @60Gh/s) Miner for 10-36 hours then stops. on: March 09, 2015, 02:42:56 AM
So, I purchased a Butterfly Labs Single @60Gh/s off of Ebay a while back. I have it set up to intake air from outside in the winter and expel air outside in the summer. currently it is expelling air.

I have the power supply set up and on and a mini USB cable plugged into the miner, climbing a slope, plugging into a USB extender, the plugging into my computer's back USB slot (USB 2.0).

I am using EasyMiner currently but have also used BFGminer.

On EasyMiner, after 10-36 hours the hardware speed and temperature will freeze, not moving from their last recorded points.
Attempting to restart the miner will give the status as "starting miner" for an unlimited amount of time. it will not work even if closed and reopened.

On BFGminer, after the same time (10-36 hours) the shares will stop going and the miner will indicate something about a temperature indicator not responding and that it is declaring SICK.
SICK will display in the top left corner of BFGminer. If i close BFGminer then when i open it again it only says BFGminer and the version and doesn't go past that, even if i encountered the error on EasyMiner.

the Eclipse MC dashboard reports 0 Gh/s and no new shares since that point on both miners.

The issue only resolves itself if i restart my computer. then it mines 36 hours and dies again.

Any help is most appreciated.

What kind of psu did you use?
You might want to open the case & check the heatsink.

Just ordered the mother of all usb hubs, if they don't work with this then the hub ain't the problem:

That's definitely using MTT chip  Smiley
Get the power from your 850 psu will be perfect  Wink

Do you know if 1 pair of yellow/black from pci-e will be enough?  Two pair?  Says it needs between 7v-26v DC.  Thanks.

Yes, 1 pair should be enough.
331  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: CP210x USB to UART Bridget driver not installing on windows 8. on: March 08, 2015, 04:50:07 AM
First off, I hope I'm in the right place asking these questions.  I'm trying to get BFGminer working but I can't get this driver to install. I've tried running as admin, I've turning off all antivirus and firewall possibilities, I've tried unzipping through multiple programs, and I've tried getting the drivers through different sources. Still no luck. Do I even need it? I open bfgminer and put in all my pool info and try to launch it just crashes. A message pops up but disappears to quickly for me to read it.

1. Why can't I install the driver?

2. Is it the cause of bfgminer crashing apon launch?

Try to run bfgminer from command line, then you will be able to see the fail message.

337  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer U3 Setup [HD] on: March 06, 2015, 07:44:38 AM

Some how it's hard to know unless you open the hub & check the chips type.
Or you can mail the manufacturer about the chip.

And do not used the original dc supply. Get the power from your PSU.

I will research, thanks.

Yes, I have them running off a 850w psu with an S1, thanks. Smiley

I mean get the power for the usb hub from 850w psu too  Smiley
338  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TECHNOBIT support tread + customer feedback on: March 06, 2015, 07:43:07 AM

Check you powered usb hub chip. Is it STT or MTT chips?
You need usb hub with MTT chip.

How would I go about doing that please?  It's an Ensignia brand from BestBuy, model number NS-PCH5421, 4-port USB 2.0 hub.  5vD.C. ~100mA, thank you.

Some how it's hard to know unless you open the hub & check the chips type.

340  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer U3 Setup [HD] on: March 06, 2015, 04:36:51 AM
I've had great success running one of these units.  I have it on a powered USB 2.0 hub and use a molex 4-pin to barrel plug of the 850w psu my S1 uses.  Using cgminer 4.90, 775v 237.50mhz gives me a super stable ~57.5gh.

Did you ever try getting more than one running at the same time?  I bought two more U3s, but I can't get more than one of them to run at the same time; any of the 3 run fine by themself.  Using stock volt/freq for all of this, I've tried launching cgminer with 2 plugged in at the same time and I get constant LIBUSB from both devices.  If I unplug one the other runs just fine.  If I launch cgminer with just one running it hums along perfectly, then I'll hotplug the second one in and instantly the LIBUSB errors start.  I've tried with them both plugged into my powered USB 2.0 hub, and tried with one in the hub and the other in a separate USB port on my computer, but no matter what if more than 1 is plugged in I get LIBUSB errors.  Any ideas?

Check you powered usb hub chip. Is it STT or MTT chips?
You need usb hub with MTT chip.
