841  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Newbie question: How to make my Antminer S1 work? on: May 14, 2014, 12:32:29 AM

I think I'm not using a DNS address. Do I need to use one? Google DNS, for example?
EDIT: I still can't make my worker work... Miner Status without any values yet and multipool not showing an active worker (the only one supposedly working actually is from my Antminer S1).

Yes, you can use 8.8.8.8 as dns server
842  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Newbie question: How to make my Antminer S1 work? on: May 14, 2014, 12:04:50 AM
Default username and password are both 'root'.

Yeah, I noticed that with a simple search. I asked this one because I'm crazy to see that miner working as fast as possible. But what about using a paper clip in my PSU? Can I use my miner this way in long term?

You think too much about that paper clip. Paper clips is the simple way to power on the PSU. The idea is short PS-ON pin with ground. Similar function available on mainboard. So use any mean you like to short PS-ON with ground.

844  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to upgrade TPLINK TL-MR3020 firmware to technobit openwrt on: May 11, 2014, 08:18:21 AM
Thank you so much, TL MR3020 router I've run yesterday, then I have problems again .. I can not enter setup, because I have to change settings become wan lan, I have tried to install and unplug lan cable and power supply but still not managed to get openwrt. .
I have tried to ping the IP Address and successful but when I tried to get in openwrt, I could not connect, whether it is the effect of changes lan wan interface to that?
Can I restore into a lan wan interface?
I asked for help to change it, because I've tried all night to this day still does not successfully connect openwrt ..

I change the lan interface in this section

http://postimg.org/image/dz53zwnb9/full/

please

Try this step:
Set your computer's IP to 192.168.1.2, subnet 255.255.255.0
Connect the TL-MR3020 to your computer via ethernet
Power on the TL-MR3020
When the WPS button starts to blink:
on BB (Breaking Barrier / trunk) move the sliding switch quickly from one side to the other.
Do this until the WPS button starts blinking faster.
The device is now in Failsafe-Mode
You may access it by using telnet 192.168.1.1
Info on resetting to OpenWrt defaults can be found at: generic.failsafe

If still fail to login, then you need to use serial console.
You will need to make serial adapter using CA42 & open your TL-MR3020 then add some pin on P1.

Nice marto. Now i wonder about chip cooling.
847  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to upgrade TPLINK TL-MR3020 firmware to technobit openwrt on: May 08, 2014, 06:18:21 AM
No I just love tutorials like this "Please use static address. Save & apply."

LOL, so you said it's my fault  Huh

Static is preferred so you had "FIX" address every time you need to access it. Of course if you are experience user, you can tell router to give specific address to specific host.

Then if static address not working, it's not the "static address" fault but the user who set it at fault.
Ask all user here who had problem with static address.

All of linux small box like TL-MR3020 & Rpi didn't like DNS sever from ISP. That's why many user add additional DNS server from free provider like google ( 8.8.8.8 )

848  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon2 based miner from Technobit - HEX16A2 on: May 06, 2014, 04:35:31 AM
No, i mean add additional load on your +5V PSU rail. The miner still use +12V. You can add HDD or old cdrom drive.
Some people say this do the trick to make the PSU more stable.

Connected an old HDD, it worked, the PSU won't crash when raising the MH/s or voltage. Thank you. Oh, also, another Hex16A2 unit came today, I wonder if adding it to another rail will remove the need for the HDD or if the trick just works with the +5v rail.
Posted from Bitcointa.lk - #QGKKUIYnmYKoM4TY

Nice, i read about this trick on thread  Grin. Additional HEX16C only use 12V, so you still need load on +5V rail.

If the host is Rpi or TPLINK, then get the power from PSU +5V. Then you can remove the hdd.
849  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon2 based miner from Technobit - HEX16A2 on: May 06, 2014, 03:14:57 AM
Ok, try to give load to +5V rail
So I should try replacing the yellow +12v rail for the +5v rail? Won't that cause a red light on the Hex16A2?

What is your PSU brand & type?
(ATX) C3Tech PUF-4050S, they don't seem to sell this one around anymore though. The manufacturer which used to build it is the same which builds for Corsair, Thermaltake and OCZ. Made mostly out of chinese components, however.

Hello lads, I've got a little issue. I'm trying to run one Hex16A2, I'm using a 500W PSU with 12v 16a for the yellow lines, I've tried switching from the molex lines to CPU lines but the PSU crashes if I set the MH/s above 380 in HexMiner/CGMiner for the 16 avalon gen 2 chips.

The PSU is currently powered by 220V if it matters.

Here's a screenshot of my current HexMiner settings.

I had more easy way(just test it this morning  Cheesy)

1. Connect TL-MR3020 using utp to your pc, set your pc ip to static.
2. switch tl-mr3020 switch to WISP(I don't know why)
3. Download original image from tplink http://www.tp-link.com/Resources/software/TL-MR3020_V1.00_120817.zip
    This one without boot so no need to strip.
4. Login to TL-MR3020 using luci, go to System - Backup / Flash Firmware, uncheck keep setting & browse for the image then process.
5. Let it finish & restart automatically, then login to 192.168.0.254
853  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit HEX8A1 - 130/260 GHs Coincraft A1 board-389/807 EUR April on: May 05, 2014, 03:58:41 AM

Has anyone successfully tried 270/1050 for extended periods of time in a ~23 degrees C room? Running at 260 seems to work fine, but this saved me after my tl-mr3020 went crazy: https://bitcointa.lk/threads/cgminer-windows-build-for-technobit-boards.298736/

[edit] btw @ 260-1000 I have 0% hw errors, does that mean i can safely try 270/1050?

The test is for current measurement only. I only run it for about 5 minutes since the heatsink become very-very hot.

You can see the current usage is very high for only 10 GH increment LOL
854  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to upgrade TPLINK TL-MR3020 firmware to technobit openwrt on: May 03, 2014, 12:30:45 PM

Dear Zich,
thank you for your answer, i figured out my solution, it seems MR3020 is the same router as WR703N, so what i did was to flash MR3020 original firmware and then technbit firmware is working great.

But, the devices only work on hot plug, maybe because i have 2x 7ghs and 2 x 24ghs, what is weird is that u say hotplug is deactivated from the start.

Ty

Hi meetniq,

I glad you find the way, though i am surprises that it work on 703.
I am also had HEX16A & HEX16C on 3020 but never had to hot plug. I guess this is due to firmware make for 3020 not 703  Cheesy

Could  one of you kind ladies and gentlemen point me to a quieter fan that I could replace the top fan with?

Thank you!

If you want to replace with quiet fan, then you need to underclock the setting to about 220 GH/s.
856  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Bitmine A1 mining chips for sale on: May 02, 2014, 12:05:47 AM
That was overpriced.

For comparison, technobit completed 8 chips miner price is 758 USD.
Assembly serviced for 8 chip miner is 289 USD.
Then the chip price is 758 - 289 = 469 USD for 8 chips. So each chip only 58.6 USD.

Yours is 87 USD.
857  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TECHNOBIT's HEX16A in hand - first impressions / mining software on: April 29, 2014, 04:21:28 AM

I run mine at 1200mhz / 950mv => 19GH The power consumption should be bellow 50W

I am using a combination of Corsair CX750M and a Thermaltake smart 650w power supplies to run 6 hex16a2.  According to the Killawatt, it is taking about 257 watts to run, so that averages out to 42.5 watts.  I am running mine at 1530mhz / 1020mv.  However I was registering a much higher power consumption before when I was just using the cheapest generic power supplies I could find.  I wonder if these new power supplies are really that much more efficient, or if maybe my killawatt isn't giving me a proper reading because I have the two power supplies connected to a multi outlet adapter plug.

So far, I seem to be generating less shares with CGMiner than I was using HexMiner.   I was sometimes seeing up to 110,000 shares on certain shifts with HexMiner, but only topping at 90,000 using 6 miners.

If i remember correctly, my HEX16C use about 9 A on 12V rail, so that's was 108 watt.
That's why she is retired already.
858  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TECHNOBIT's HEX16A in hand - first impressions / mining software on: April 29, 2014, 04:19:20 AM

so what would i put in this following section of the configuration.config file if i want it running at 22Gh/s
or is this already set by default?
Code:
"set_default_to_8" : false,
"hexminera-voltage" : "1340",
"hexminera-options" : "16:450",

That's was HEX16A setting, for HEX16C:
Code:
"hexminerc-voltage" : "1100",
"hexminerc-options" : "16:1500",
"set_default_to_c" : true,

do not use "set_default_to_8" : false,

Hello Zich,
can u help me out putting this to work on a tplink wr703n?

i installed this firmware:
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/avalon/20140329/

configured, all running except for the chips, doesnt seem to recognize them i think :\

Hi meetniq,

I would love to help you created image for 703 if i can, but unfortunately that out of my leaque. I am also linux noob  Cheesy

But, maybe i had some solution if you like to try.
Go to /usr/bin
You will find cgminer & cgminer-api

Replaced it with this:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ipj79f4rajvrke/cgminer
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bugrv7ukp0fiddv/cgminer-api

You can use wget command
Code:
root@Miner01:/usr/bin#wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ipj79f4rajvrke/cgminer

The firmware you downloaded from http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/avalon/20140329/ is original cgminer which had no support for technobit board(except nanofury).
860  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Technobit HEX8A1 Setup [HD] on: April 28, 2014, 01:28:27 AM

can we use cgminer-4.3.0?

Cheers,
QG

Patch for cgminer-4.3.0 not available yet.
Latest patch is for cgmner-4.2.3.
