521  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S-5 review. on: January 08, 2015, 02:50:28 AM

Look like there are two unused connector in controller. I wonder is you can use them for another board in case fail controller.

I only had 1 machine but I am almost certain that is possible.  I wonder if a 2x s-5 owner has tried to do that.

Will be interesting if it's work  Smiley

523  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 2 Antminers 1 PSU (Overclocked) on: January 08, 2015, 01:18:16 AM
Hello everyone!

I recently purchased 2 Antminer S3 devices and was wondering if the Powersupply i ordered would work if i overclocked both Antminers.

725W PSU : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JEJZ1MA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks for your feedback in advanced! Smiley

I read many bad review about this psu from amazon customer review. No wonder they sell it with huge discount.
You may want to avoid this psu, choose renowned brand like Corsair, OCZ & Seasonic.
524  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive BTCGarden AM V1 Setup [HD] on: January 07, 2015, 12:40:46 PM

I am not finding a cgminer.conf I think I searched every directory.

Maybe it's not exist yet. Try to save setting from cgminer user interface. See where cgminer save the conf file.
525  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Bitmain Antminer S5 on: January 07, 2015, 12:18:58 PM
Hmm, I wonder if the 660W is due to the 110V or a lower quality PSU?
Here in Aus (240V), my S5 is doing a little over 1.1THs on my pool ( https://www.kano.is/ ) but at the wall it's only 600W
(default settings) but I'm using a Seasonic 1200W Platinum

OgNasty using Rosewill ATX 12V 750-Watt 80 PLUS BRONZE. The efficiency on 75% load is 85%.

My S5 is mining away at a little over 1.1THs on default settings at my pool https://www.kano.is/ working fine Smiley
Best pool Smiley
Ignore those dogie was paid to post Smiley
600W at the wall with a Seasonic 1200W Platinum (240V)

Thanks kano for additional data  Smiley

50% load on platinum psu. The efficiency about 94%. So the load is about 564 watt on 12V rail.

If using 600 watt psu, that's  93% load. Yes, it's will work, but too much strain on psu.

Hello there,

I'm from Russia and have ordered 1 x ANTMINER S5 BATCH 4.
Now I need some advice from you ...
I have a new out of the box PSU Fractal Design NEWTON R3 80PLUSŪ Platinum
http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/power-supplies/newton/newton-r3-600w
and I'll going in anyway to connect it to S5.
Which are the potential minuses I'll get if use the PSU NEWTON R3 with Antminer S5? Please list all if it possible.
Thanks.

That psu is not sufficient for S5.
S5 power consumption is about 660 watt. You need to use at least pure 750 watt psu.

S5 power consumption is 600W at the wall, that means ~500W pre PSU. The PSU is fine for a single S5. The may die prematurely if the quality is not enough, but then you can warranty replace it.

Of course i can't say more about power consumption since i don't own S5. The 660 watt on wall is from other review.
The exact consumption in 12V rail in unknown.
Maybe in future bitmain and other company can provide this data since we buy psu based on amperage capability.
528  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive BTCGarden AM V1 Setup [HD] on: January 07, 2015, 03:39:35 AM
Does anyone know how to get these so they can be monitored from other apps through the API,

check /var/www/run.sh to make sure the cgminer startup script includes --api-listen

Here is my run.sh file
nohup  /home/pi/Garden/cgminer -o http://10.30.2.188:8332 -u User.worker -p x  --btcg-clks 310:3000 --btcg-num-chips 64  --btcg-chip-sel-delay  80  --btcg-hard-rst-all-chips-period 5 --btcg-spi-cs-delay 0  --api-listen --api-allow W:0/0 --api-network > /dev/null 2>&1 &

You can add the api setting to cgminer.conf
Usually on /root/.cgminer/cgminer.conf
Code:
"api-listen" : true,
"api-allow" : "R:127.0.0.1",
"api-mcast-port" : "4028",
"api-port" : "4028"
529  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can the Antminer S3 be run at a lower voltage PSU like the S5? on: January 07, 2015, 03:32:58 AM
Why would you use 9V psu? 12V psu is more commonly available than 9V psu.

531  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 2 x Bitmain Antminer U3 not running the same speeds? on: January 05, 2015, 11:48:39 PM
I find that I have to quite cgminer, turn off the power to the U3, physically unplug the USB's from U3, turn on power, plug in USB and start cgminer, then I got another 16-24 hours of mining before it goes ZOMBIE

What kind of psu did you use?
532  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 power suply on: January 05, 2015, 08:19:59 AM
My two S5 will arrive on Wednesday so I was thinking as using my one "Cooler Master Silent Pro 1200W Gold PSU" for both. Will that work? Also whats the difference between Gold & Bronze i.e. which one draws less power?

I don't think that will work. OgNasty review stated that with default setting the power consumption is about 661 watt.

Of course gold draw less power.
533  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 power suply on: January 05, 2015, 01:16:39 AM
Does the RM750 come with 4 cables to power the S5? If not, where can I get them? Also, is there a cheap alternative to the paperclip method for the on/off 'hack'?

This is my switch button.
534  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S1 - HUGE Amount of HW Errors? on: January 03, 2015, 08:28:48 AM
Honestly, I'm not sure how long this has been going on. Perhaps a week or so? One of my Antminers has a huge amount of HW Errors.

As of the last 15 minutes, I have 42 getworks, 435 accepted, 9 rejected and 1130 HW. Also 27 Utility, 66 Discarded and 0 stale.

Antminer and Pools are reporting normal hashrate. I've been on Ghash for a month now, and suddenly this is happening. I thought maybe it was Ghash, so I went back to BTC Guild. Same thing. I documented my earnings, and it was about 1/2 of expected (from Coinwarz calculator). What would be causing all of these errors?

I've had this OC'd S1 running for months now. My electricity's cheap, so It's actually still slightly profitable to mine with the low efficiency, but that's besides the point. It's on a CX750m PSU. This seems to be a sudden thing. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Also, the Ant control panel shows all of the ASIC chips are fine, so again, I don't know what the heck could be going wrong!!

Maybe you setting to high. Try to lower your setting & check the hw.
