541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LAUNCH] GINcoin | One-click masternodes LIVE | Shared MN platform on: July 03, 2018, 09:23:49 AM
Two more coins are joining the GIN platform starting today: GoByte and Monoeci. We wish both of them a very hearty welcome!
Thanks for update !!!

So how does it work exactly. Other coins can 'launch' on the gincoin platform, using 'gincoin' to pay for the launch? And while this is all happening, gincoin is also its own coin that has masternodes and gincoin can be used to run masternodes of the other coins it launches on its platform (or something like that)?
542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about trading bots? on: July 03, 2018, 02:23:18 AM
I'd imagine they could be profitable. Alot of the regular financial market does automated trades. Given how unpredictable crypto is, I feel like the risk would be greater.

It could be that it is profitable on most days but when something unexpected happens, your profits get wiped as the bot responds incorrectly. It could be worth trying it out for a month and see how it goes. I'd be interested in seeing your results Smiley
543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin creation service (with masternodes) price starting at 0.15 btc on: July 01, 2018, 10:12:12 AM
This is hilarious. Essentially a readymade make an altcoin. Now you just need to offer a whitepaper writing service, logo design and website development and bingo - altcoin scams for next to nothing! Wink
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POW][XPP] PrivatePay - Secure and Private | Payment Ecosystem | Revolusion on: July 01, 2018, 05:12:47 AM
Should have an updated list of pools with this coin so far on the front page Smiley
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we adopt altcoin to pay wages? on: July 01, 2018, 03:06:56 AM
Can we pay salaries and wages in shape of altcoins?
What problems can be occurred to adopt it?

Tax would be an issue. Like cash in hand jobs it would be open to scrutiny from tax officials. Also you'd have to decide if the salary is pegged to usd or other fiat to account for price fluctuations. Also you'd have to think about related benefits like workers insurance, retirement or annual leave accruals etc.

But once these issues are sorted I'd see no reason why not.
546  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hi Legendaries! Any predictions as to when will the bitcoin will rise frm 2day? on: July 01, 2018, 01:44:35 AM
Just because you're legendary, doesn't necessarily mean you know anything about bitcoin.

All it means is that you signed up to this forum a few years back. Doubt there would be many who got merit to be legendary.

Anyway, price has been hovering lately I'll say 7k, with alot of altcoins tanking as they fail to deliver after their icos in late 2017.
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: July 01, 2018, 12:56:26 AM
So. Much. Bot. Accounts. Replying

you know they need to ad. the exchnage scam:Smiley

Is it for bounty campaigns or something? I mean, newbie accounts can't really join many/any campaigns so I don't see what the point is of having an account that just says 'this projects is really cool' or whatever.

Anyway, I'm glad ravencoin isn't only available on cryptobridge anymore. I don't really use QBTC but might give it a shot if that is where all the trading is.
548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Panic sellers, please head for the exit (and don't come back) on: July 01, 2018, 12:43:49 AM
Let panic sellers sell. They'll buy back in the next time it's booming or news about cryptocurrency is positive.

You know, sell low buy high. Always a winning combo.
549  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC under 6k? on: July 01, 2018, 12:29:14 AM

Bitcoins under $6k is not a bad news, it was a very good value for people who wants to earn cryptocurrency today because in this way they can invest while the market price is currently dumping

That's right, it all depends on when you 'bought in' or started mining. I mean compared to all time highs in December 2017, Bitcoin has dropped 50 per cent. But compared to a little over a year ago it is still more than double.

So you're right - how much it impacts you depends on when you started being involved in crypto. I wrote an article about this recently, with a graph of how the top 50 coins have performed over the last 6 months: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@hassy/cryptocurrency-price-changes-for-top-coins-since-december-2017

550  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC under 6k? on: June 30, 2018, 10:33:47 AM
bitcoin will survive any literary any price even at 0 because of the way it is designed.

you can search more about difficulty to learn more about it but basically the profitability of mining and how much it costs depends on difficulty and difficulty itself depends on how many miners or more accurately how much hashing power is mining bitcoin. and that changes with price, it is not a fixed amount. for example if price falls to a point where it becomes unprofitable to mine bitcoin and miners were put under pressure then some miners will stop mining  and difficulty will decrease making it profitable again.

miners don't all have the same cost. some have cheaper electricity, cheaper labor,... are in cooler environment so need less cooling so less cost,... some have reached their ROI already and some have started recently,... so you see not all are going to suffer the same from same size of drop. which is why only some leave and difficulty changes a little at a time.
so far hashrate is rising despite the fall which means miners are making a lot of profit that makes them increase their hashing power instead.

Yes - but some parts I think no. Bitcoin wouldn't necessarily survive an extended period at zero because there will always be some costs associated with mining (having a cost to mining is part of the point).

Also the market demands that over a long enough time span we'll keep moving to an overall market breakeven point. This means, on a market level, the COST to produce/mine one unit of a cryptocurrency will be equal to (or at best perhaps slightly less) than the PROFIT generated by that one unit of cryptocurrency.

What differs is the cost at an individual mining operation level. This means that miners that can reduce their costs the most are the ones that will stay the most profitable and expand their operations. So the competition gets more fierce, difficulty goes up, profit margins get squeezed, smaller miners drop out and mining becomes more centralised. This is why large bitcoin mining operations are the most profitable, and everyone else is stuck using nicehash to mine some brand new shtcoin to swap for bitcoin Wink

But anyway, on your point about if Bitcoin was valued at 0 (for an extended period of time), well, then there wouldn't be much of an incentive to mine it and no one can reduce their variable or fixed costs to below 0.

I think as long as a post is not double-counted, it is considered as additional points for the dare-so-share program.
Participants just need to share the info of the competition as well as info of trade.io to the portion of community that still doesn't know much about trade.io.

That would make the most sense. But there still isn't much guidance, which is concerning given trade io in their terms and conditions reserve the right to deny people from winning based on the legitimacy of their entries.

For example, sharing the dare to share comp here should be allowed, since it lets the community know plus bumps the trade io thread to the top.
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: June 27, 2018, 08:52:36 AM
monaco has partnership with binance and bitthumb, rumor is that upgrade bniance just did was related to monaco

Yeah they have partnership. I haven't heard any rumours but it could be that the Monaco app will be linked to purchasing through Binance. Like you put an order through Monaco app, and it automatically buys from Binance without you really having to interact with the Binance interface.

That would be good, but cards would be even better Wink

I look forward to the Bloomberg event on friday 8:00PM (China time). If you are based on the mainland, turn on your VPN and tune in.

Also an announcement just came up in their twitter feed relating to Ingot coin and an airdrop for those holding more than 2,500 tio's, plus a raffle and ICO bonus purchase. Check it out:

554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: June 27, 2018, 08:40:41 AM
the swing wallet requires a lot of resources, mine is using about 20%

Yeah it sure does. Always slows down my internet as well when it's open, and takes a while to load up to the latest block (sometimes hours just to catch up if I haven't opened it for a month).

I've just downloaded Arizen lite wallet - I guess it doesn't have the full range of functions, but for holding it does the job.
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: June 26, 2018, 11:51:02 AM
It looks of this idea will be better in the near future!
Classy business, cerebral job, very nice design.  Good luck devs!

those spam posts should be deleted. They say nothing, it is just spam and I am already sick of them.
Isn't there a way to get rid of them? It is always posted by members with very few posts.

This project is much good. I look to future with hope and promise. I watch development with strong team.

556  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What if Bitcoin runs out? on: June 26, 2018, 11:14:26 AM
I want to ask, what will happen when bitcoin runs out. The amount of Bitcoin that can be mined is only 21 million. What is the fate of the miners and when will it happen?

Bitcoin Miners will 'live' on the transaction fees - no more new coins 'minted' as part of the block reward.

Keep in mind, these Bitcoin miners can go elsewhere and there are plenty of somewhat self interested people/projects coming up with alternatives and forks to Bitcoin.

Most of these projects are of questionable value. There was Bitcoin Cash developed in response to high transaction fees and Bitcoin Gold is trying to be ASIC resistant - which means it wants to be good for mining on regular Graphic Processing Units.

Some coins don't have a cap. Ethereum for example currently has no upper limit, although it is likely to change in the future to be a Proof of Stake instead of Proof of Work (mining) coin.

Hope that helps, happy to go over any of this in more detail.

Hey Guys,

I recently published a medium article about trade.io.

You can find it here: https://medium.com/@oliviertruquet/my-take-on-trade-io-83126ddf6eb4

It would be awesome if we could discuss about it here. I am looking for advice on how to improve it and generally discussing about how to improve the exchange with fellow enthusiasts.

Best regards to all!

Nice work! I like your article. You could also talk about the airdrops lined up so far (like zero edge or xchangerate) and perhaps the angel investor program.

I also wrote an article on trade io fairly recently. Feel free to check it out: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@hassy/trade-io-new-crypto-exchange-coming-mid-2018

Also for those new to trade io, they're running a promotion in the lead up to the launch of the exchange to spread awareness of platform. Check it out here: https://trade.io/dare-to-share

just to let you guys know, been waiting 7 hours for a withdrawal from cryptopia. status "Processing" deposits are absolutely fine though

So withdrawals are a problem, but deposits are completely fine?

Who would have thought that! You can deposit your coins no problem but when it comes to withdrawals, there are problems?

Sounds like standard cryptopia.  Wink
559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Referrals, Bounties, & Giveaways ... What interests you? on: June 25, 2018, 10:21:33 AM
Bounties are great, but I also like referral and 'giveaway' type of projects. Some can be great for posters and the project.

Check out trade io for example. They are an exchange platform already past their bounty and ICO stage, but are still doing great giveaways for doing a few 'bounty-like' tasks. You can also get stakes for doing things like watching their youtube clip. Check it here https://trade.io/dare-to-share

Keep in mind steemit also does bounty programs for writing tasks. Some of these aren't on bitcointalk so worth keeping a look out on that platform too.
560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY][ICO] 🔥 WPP ENERGY - BACKED ASSET GREEN ENERGY TOKEN 🔥 on: June 25, 2018, 10:14:12 AM
Lauda - adding the "https://wppenergy.io" to your telegram username is not possible on telegram. The symbols : and // and even a fullstop are invalid for use in a username.

Based on the spreadsheet, I'm not sure if the people who have said they added the branding to their telegram page actually have Wink

I'm happy join up to the telegram page, and change my username, but what would you like us to change it to given some of the symbols are not permitted.
