1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] STRAKS - Decentralised, Open Source, Community Driven Digital Currency on: November 22, 2017, 04:24:27 AM
This looks great....hope this is not another ER2 Token?

Nope! From what I can gather, it's an extension (fork?) of sorts from the old signatum, but with the 'original' lot of developers. In fact, they'll be offering a signatum swap a bit later on to pull some of the holders from that chain over to them. From memory, think that was later this month but I guess they'll be updates on what's happening soon.

This is a new digital currency and it shares no technical association to Signatum. This is simply a free coin-swap to a new and much better currency, where you are invited to swap your Signatum coins towards. The developers of STRAKS were never part of the core Signatum team. Some contributed on a community level, but that was all. The founders and core developers from that project are not involved in STRAKS.

We will provide full details on the swap process in the very near future. Please stay tuned.

Ah ok great, thanks for that clarification. So whole new blockchain/project, which allows a free-coin swap from signatum, primarily due to some developers previous work in signatum albeit more at a community level.

Also your infographic comparing Straks to other coins is useful.

At this stage, if the only way to mine is through the wallet, can you really set up a pool to mine too?

Or will it mainly be solo mining, and people quickly add pools once the mining goes live to the public and the difficulty increases. I'm guessing in the early days increase will jump around quite a lot!
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why GTX 1060? on: November 22, 2017, 02:40:37 AM
Gtx 1060's (particularly 6gb for longevity for mining ethereum) are great. You can make them just sip on the electricity, and they do equihash really well.

I wouldn't mix AMD and NVidia on the one rig. I've heard from others that drivers can be a real pain.

If electricity costs aren't a concern, AMD is probably the more popular choice for mining ethereum.
1265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Go for IOTA. on: November 22, 2017, 02:33:01 AM
A few people/threads have been preaching about IOTA for a while. It has increased rapidly in the last few weeks so not sure it has much more to go in the short term.

In the mid to longer term (mid 2018 onwards) it will probably stay strong. Thinking of jumping in if it dips a touch more.
1266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: November 22, 2017, 02:10:11 AM
Hi all. I've just started posting on steemit, and decided to make an article about Monaco!

I've gone through what you should consider in holding MCO, how we got here, and whether you should buy more MCO if you have about 50, and are thinking of making the plunge to 500 MCO to get the Metal Card.

https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@hassy/monaco-card-should-you-buy-more-tokens-the-real-value-of-mco

Would love to know your thoughts either through here or on the blog itself Smiley I really enjoyed writing it and getting my thoughts down.
1267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] 2000 ETH - Coin Lion Bounty Program - Now LIVE! 8 Campaigns! on: November 22, 2017, 01:06:19 AM
Great project and I'm happy to contribute Smiley I've read through the announcement thread and it looks great, also very active developers answering everyones questions!

Minor point on the telegram bounty, I've joined the telegram group but the form asks for a sign in on my google/gmail account. I don't really use gmail in these type of forums. I'd be happy to provide a different email I use more regularly as the contact point if that is the main point of providing an email - just not sure why it specifically needs to be a google account email!
1268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] STRAKS - Decentralised, Open Source, Community Driven Digital Currency on: November 22, 2017, 12:32:15 AM
Mining time soon! I always feel like there is a peak when things first come on board, then slowly whittle down over the next week before stabilising. I'd imagine the difficulty could be pretty high to start with.

Will download wallet later today and check it out.
1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA is the next big thing on: November 21, 2017, 04:22:53 AM
Nice call on IOTA! It has more than doubled since your thread started less than a month ago!

I should keep tabs on next time you make a prediction, you've got a good track record so far Wink

I was mining zencash before its big jump, but missed the boat on IOTA. Got to keep your finger on the pulse in this market!
1270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Signatum 2.0 on: November 21, 2017, 01:39:05 AM
Do you have a step by step guide to easily trade sigt for straks?

So for example, is it an automated process you can do from the old sigt wallet, or is there something else that needs to be done.

I have some sigt in a wallet from months and months ago that hasn't been touched for a long time. If there is an easy way to move to Straks, I'd be keen to take out some of the steps.
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] COIN LION: Rule The Digital Jungle on: November 20, 2017, 11:45:00 PM

We are also excited to announce the addition of two new advisors and a new dev! go to https://coinlion.com

The CEO was recently quoted in Entrepreneur! https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/304560

Quite a nice read. Agree with Joshua by the way, pretty much hard to keep up with all the crypto currencies available.
Im now trying to limit my investment to tokens so i don't have to install extra wallet and expose myself to risk, but i also miss out investment opportunities

Yes that is the nice thing about Erc20 tokens!

As the market expands it will be necessary to have the proper tools to manage large portfolios with hundreds of assets efficiently.

That's right! So many ERC20 tokens out there it is hard to keep track of them all in one tidy location, alongside any other coins. Combining that with an easy to use platform, with access to research on your/different tokens based on respected users, and coin lion could be great. In the long run it will all depend on the community being involved and contributing to the platform but I think you're onto a good thing here! Very polished presentation on your website as well.

Thank you! CoinLion's goal is to make managing digital assets easy and efficient. CoinLion will also give users the tools and research they need to implement smart, controlled investment process. You are right about getting the community involved. We are running our bounty campaign now and it has started to pick up traction. Check it out at the link in the ANN!

Thank you!

Awesome! Yup bounty program looks great. I'll be pulling together what I hope is a useful article over the next week or so. Will apply through the normal bounty spreadsheet when it is ready. More than happy to support a project that has potential Smiley
1272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] MINING SOLUTIONS - enjoy the mining! on: November 20, 2017, 10:52:29 PM
So if I understand this correctly, this is an ico for software that improves mining performance for GPUs (by up to 14-16 per cent according to developers)? And the 'payment' for access to these improved mining tools is through the ico token.
You are quite right, but not only performance, it also improves the energy consumption, temperature, etc

Interesting. Are you concerned that once the software is 'out there' people will share it with friends or other people without having purchased your tokens?

Also, do you imagine the cost in tokens will be low enough so that the benefits in terms of improved performance will outweigh the cost?

1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO Breaks NEW HIGH on: November 20, 2017, 02:39:16 AM
I am lucky that I still have NEO.
I would like to keep it further.

it seems as the best choice now

I have an entire 1 NEO I got at 20 usd, plugging away getting Gas Smiley

It is always easier to see in hindsight what would have been a great investment. Always hard to predict the next big thing.

But to think even after it hit over $20 it could go all the way to above $40 so quickly is crazy gains.

1276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ㉫ ENJIN COIN - Smart Gaming Currency (Binance Competition Nov 15th!) on: November 20, 2017, 02:35:31 AM
It looks like the price is bouncing back a bit, but might be due to a few groups tip to get it at that rate. I still think the price is undervalued right now, huge potential here.

I think the Binance competition around making lots and lots of trades (buys and sells) helped pump the price a bit. Either way, Enjin is great and I'm looking forward to the next twelve months. Also very happy I got in below the ICO before the Binance competition started!
1277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [OPEN] AltCommunityCoin [Signature Campaign] [Highest Paying] on: November 16, 2017, 06:14:15 AM
Just confirming, is the payout for the signature campaign per post, or per week? ie. a newbie would get 0.05 altcom coin per post.

If it is per post, that is quite a bounty! When does the campaign end?
1278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best airdrop you ever got (or didnt get) on: November 15, 2017, 04:58:06 AM
DeepOnion seems to be best now, but only Member and above can join. They drop about $500 - $1000 (current price) worth of coins for every participant every week.
Thanks for telling. This seems to be great news. I never really knew that airdrop coins were worth this much money. Have not really participated in any airdrop before, will look into deeponion right now!

Back in September, it was this much per week based on a coin price of a few bucks from memory. But there were requirements that you kept 90 per cent of all your coins from the airdrop or else you couldn't participate in future airdrops. Since then, the price has dropped significantly to about 60 cents and they've changed the airdrop rules now.

So yes, you got $500-$1000 per week in coins at the mid september price of 3 dollars something, but you would have to 'cash out' from future airdrops to convert it to regular ole dollar dollars.

If you correctly predicted the peak on deep onion, you could have probably made quite a few grand from cashing out of your future airdrops, but I'm guessing most people kept holding due to the 'cash out' rule and missed the peak.
1279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: November 15, 2017, 12:52:57 AM
Just wait 1-3 months and you will see what does it means locked up coins. Demand will be much higher than supply and we will get to the point of almost no coins for sale. This will be wild. Top 10 coin for sure.

I think the same! It's a great and a smart thing they did with locking the coins, and if they succeed to clean the stains from last months, MCO will be big Smiley
In my opinion it will not reach Top 10, there are other projects who will rise too. But of course it would be nice, if this happens come back and blame me please Cheesy

Well, I'm aware about that, I have some other projects on my top list, but this "coins locking" seems so original, and it might succeed Smiley

It will only succeed if the value provided by the card means more people will want to buy 50-500 MCO tokens, even if the price increases to, say, $10usd per token. 1-1.5 per cent cash back might not be enough in some countries to get that kind of uptake. There is a risk that the initial rush from the 'crypto' people will not lead to more mainstream or wide spread adoption. Hopefully further marketing will make a difference but there is no guarantees!

I think a revised version of the asset contract, whenever that is announced, will help with uptake, as it helps given more inherent value (even if it is only marginal) to MCO.

1280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining on: November 14, 2017, 11:05:25 AM
It has been sitting in 'beta' for a while. When will steemit feel comfortable enough to go from beta to final! What functionality or design does steem consider necessary to trigger the switch.

Obviously there will always be ongoing updates to the website, but this is different to being in beta.
