441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top Promising Altcoins That Failed? on: March 03, 2022, 01:00:18 AM
Hey.  What other masternode coins are you speaking of?  Yes i recall ark and lisk and they were high in the top marketcap a while back.

442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Top Promising Altcoins That Failed? on: March 02, 2022, 11:13:49 PM
Which altcoins from the last few years where there was a lot of positive talk about it has failed?  And by failed, it means either it has went to 0 or it could be worth very little.  Like it could been 50 dollars at one point and now 0.50.

Also I am talking about coins that were at least in the top 50 or top 100 in coinmarketcap and then it just fell apart.  I don't mean a coin that came out and everyone had praise of it and it didn't even break the top 100 on coinmarketcap.

443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ZClassic? on: March 02, 2022, 10:59:55 PM
Does anyone know what happened to this coin?  I remembered years ago, it went up to few hundred dollars.  Now its barely ten cents.  I don't recall a coin that went up this high and then went down to almost nothing.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Funfair and Edgeless? on: March 02, 2022, 10:57:17 PM
Just took a look at these coins again.  It's a penny for each of these coins.  Does anyone know what happened to edgeless?  I remember at one point it was over 3 dollars.
445  Economy / Trading Discussion / Where do daytraders store their crypto? on: March 02, 2022, 10:52:57 PM
Assuming you trade a lot and are a daytrader and use binance, coinbase and all those exchanges, you need your coins on the exchange to trade.  But when you are done with trading that day, do majority of traders just leave their coins there till the next day?  Now if you are trading it with USD, then no issue then right since the balance would be USD or a portion of your balance is in USD?

If you are doing this with coins like ETH, you are going to pay a ton of fees each way.  Your exchange is going to charge you a fee and you going to pay a decent fee sending it back the next day.  Now imagine having many other altcoins where the fees are similar.  I can' t imagine people are depositing/withdrawing each day?  The deposit/withdraw fees would eat them up if they do ETH or even if they use a lot of other coins because the exchange is going to charge them a flat fee each time.

Obviously keeping your coins in an exchange is not as safe as a hardware wallet, but what do daytraders do?  If I daytrade, I would just keep my coins in the exchange until I need to withdraw or if I know I won't be trading for a while.  The other thing is some coins they want to trade, it is possible they can't store it in their hardware wallet because that coin is not supported.  So because of that, no other option than to store it on the exchange?  Or they use something like metamask?  But still they have to pay fees depositing/withdrawing right?

446  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto wallets surpassed banks already but you need to know this on: March 02, 2022, 10:16:28 PM
I heard few negative things about trust wallet in one of my other threads.  But is it still recommended for a software wallet?  Obviously electrum is the best software wallet of all.  But what about atomic wallet?
447  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I get over clip board malware attack? on: March 02, 2022, 09:59:43 PM
Is there a way to test if the clipboard malware attack exist on your pc?

I remember i saw a video where a guy would just copy and paste a btc address from notepad to somewhere else as a test and noticed when he did that... it changed.  Of course the first few letters of the btc address was the same so it seems this malware is smart in that it would find the starting letter of the btc address to be similar before it makes the change.

But as long as you copy an address that looks like a btc address to say another part on the computer, whether its an address in an exchange, notepad or even google search, as long as it doesn't change it... your computer do not have that clipboard malware?
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: smal USDT balances ?? what to do ?? on: March 02, 2022, 09:11:10 PM
Even if you wait for a bigger balance, why would people want to handle paying this much in fees?

The thing is why do most exchanges not accept the cheapest usd network like binance and tron since i hear that doesn't cost much?
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷 Waves Tech - a powerful blockchain-agnostic ecosystem on: March 02, 2022, 08:34:27 PM
So I just noticed that you could even store usdt, usdc, BNB in the waves exchange account.  Did waves allowed these coins back then?

Also with usdt and usdc, you could send usdt and usdc with either the ERC20 tokens or BSC (BEP20) or Polygon.  I only of the first two and tron.  But you can basically store both Usdt/usdc ERC20 and usdt/usdc BSC in the waves exchange wallet?  BNB only shows ETH though.

But are there many people here that store their coins whether its BTC or ETH in their waves wallet as store it there as oppose to say software wallets or exchanges?
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷 Waves Tech - a powerful blockchain-agnostic ecosystem on: March 01, 2022, 01:03:36 AM
When I check turtlenetwork trading volume in the last day there is less than 30 dollars of total trading volume?  I am confused by what you mean someone who have 6000 dollars can buy that much when there is little to no volume?
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Claiming ECash XEC Forked Coin? on: February 28, 2022, 05:12:12 AM
So I heard that there was a bitcoin cash fork and it split into a coin called Ecash which is called XEC.  Do most people know much about this?  If so, why is there not much talk about it at all?  I only claimed BCH fork and that was it.  I still need to claim BitcoinSV, Bitcoin Gold, and I thought Bitcoin Diamond and Bitcoin Private.  But apparently there is XEC to claim?

Has anyone here claimed ECash XEC fork yet?  I found an article that gives you the steps to do it but the issue is I already claimed my BCH a while back and moved it to my hardware wallet.

I was told before I heard of XEC, to first claim highest value forks left... which would be Bitcoin SV and then Bitcoin Gold.  But apparently XEC is worth a bit less than Bitcoin SV which I was surprised to believe.  So should one start claiming BSV first before XEC?

Again, I do not understand why there isn't much simple guides on how to claim these forks.  I hear people talk about how these forks are useless or scams.  I don't know how you consider it a scam if you could claim it and store it in your own wallet or sell it for btc or usdt?

Has anyone here claimed this coin?  What surprises me is when I look on coinmarketcap... just months ago... the highest value of XEC... it was worth like 0.0005 but the thing is you get a million XEC for every BCH you owned or something.  So if you had one BCH, that is worth 500 dollars?  If that is the case, is there a reason why there isn't much articles discussing this?  I do not know why there isn't much guides here to claim these forks.  The only fork that was simple to claim was BCH and that was if you had btc in electrum at the time of the forks and just entered electrum seed and your BCH was there.
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Verifying ElectrumG? on: February 28, 2022, 12:17:24 AM
Well if you want to claim your bitcoin gold and just be done with it, you have to use either this wallet or coinomi it seems.

When you say you wouldn't use it unless you converted all your forkcoins to bitcoin.  What exactly do you mean by this?  You mean once converted, you immediately convert that BCH, BSV, BTG etc to btc immediately?  For me I only claimed BCH and sent it to my hardware wallet.  But I still need to claim BSV and BTG.  I don't mind claiming it and then keeping it in a wallet.  But I also don't mind selling it after claiming it.  But what would be the negative of claiming it and not converting it?  I mean there is no harm in claiming bitcoin gold and just sending it to nano ledger and holding it there right?  Is it bad that I don't really mind what are the intentions of those people who created those forks for their own benefit?  I only want to claim it so i could either keep it in a wallet to store... or sell it for btc or usdt etc.

I use to see lot of people say use coinomi for bitcoin gold claim a while back but now recent posts seem to say avoid it etc.

453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cheapest Way To Cashout Bitcoin SV to Bank Account? on: February 28, 2022, 12:13:20 AM
Can someone here tell me what is the best method to do this?
454  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: QR code malware on: February 28, 2022, 12:12:17 AM
So what about this.  Let say you have to fill out your information at a location.  Say it's an office and instead of filling out your name and some personal information on paper, they ask you to scan your QR code from your phone there in order to log into the website and fill it out online before they get to see you.

Then when that happens, a website opens up.  Then you enter information on it.

In an example like this... you should always be able to manually type the name of that website as oppose to scanning the QR code right to get to that website right?  I assume yes because once that website is on your safari browser for example, well you could always enter it again and it should go to the same website?

Is it possible a location intentionally put a QR code that is malicious where even though it goes to the website for you to enter information... that QR code puts some malware/trojan/keylogger to your phone that way?  Thus they have you do that to go to their website as oppose to you manually entering the website url?  Or is that not possible?

Is it possible for an outsider who has nothing to do with that office or location, to tamper with that QR code somehow and make it malicious for anyone to scan it and it put malware/trojan/keylogger to your phone?  Thus an outside could go to the office and scan it and do something malicious with it... then once they are done... nobody has a clue scanning the QR code is dangerous to your phone?
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷 Waves Tech - a powerful blockchain-agnostic ecosystem on: February 27, 2022, 11:37:15 PM
If you going to stake waves, is every single pool that is shown there safe?  Thus there is no risk to your waves?  The only issue would be some of those pools might not pay you waves or pay you on time?

I notice some pays a little more than others... while others pay weekly, some monthly and others even daily.

There is one waves pool where I staked a while back and still see it available.  Thus best to stick with a pool that you used before with no issue?  I remember they seem to always pay out waves every week or so.

Also I remember I read somewhere that if you have at least x amount of waves, I believe it was at least 1,000 waves, you could start a staking pool or something like that?  Obviously that is a ton of waves to have.  But if you could buy that much or get it, what is the benefit of it?  Could you earn more waves that way as oppose to taking them?

Also is there a reason that waves staking percentage changes?  A while back I recall it was always 6%?  Now its less?
456  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide] on: February 27, 2022, 11:00:07 PM
Okay I am going to just get rid of the keypair code I wrote down then since I figure it would be no use.

Okay I will not uninstall any of those programs.  Thanks man.
457  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide] on: February 27, 2022, 10:29:16 PM
Thanks Tryninja.  I don't plan to use it to sign my own message/files.  I mean I'm not sure how I would even do that and what purpose it would be for me?  Someone said only if you want to send encrypted messages to someone?

But there is no point of me uninstalling Gpg4win and kleoptra right?  Might as well leave it in the computer?

458  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: QR code malware on: February 27, 2022, 07:56:13 PM
What about when you are outside and you need to scan a QR code to visit a site at a store or something?   Imagine going to a place and you need to fill out a forum and they say okay scan the QR code here to fill out your information.  Thus it leads to you to a website.

Couldn't you still go directly to the website yourself by manually typing in the address on your phone?

Are there risks with scanning QR codes to a website if that site is dangerous?  Could malware/keyloggers be put on your phone this way or not?

459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XEC Bitcoin Cash Fork? on: February 27, 2022, 07:33:53 PM
This is what has me confused.  People say these forks are shitcoins.  Why does it matter?  If you could claim them and just send them to exchange and sell them for btc or usdt etc... then isn't that good?

Again, I only heard of bitcoin cash, bitcoin sv, bitcoin gold... and bitcoin diamond and bitcoin private as the forks.  I never even heard of XEC.  And since the value of XEC is worth just a little less than Bitcoin SV, than why not claim it?

Again, I don't care about these forks.  i just want to claim it and turn it into btc or usdt and be done with.  So how come there hasn't been any threads here on claiming XEC is what I want to know.
460  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide] on: February 27, 2022, 07:29:28 PM
When I was setting the Gpg4win up on the computer, it eventually ask me to type in a name and an email address.  I just put in a name and just a fake email address.  The youtube video for this part mentioned this didn't matter so I did that.  In all the other instructions... there was not anything mentioned at all about this.  Neither direwolf or the other instructions even addressed this at all.  Then after I clicked enter, it gave me a long code which I assume is the keypair seed?  Its very long.

I am not sure if you could click cancel during this process but I didn't.

What I want to know is... do I need to keep a copy of this very long key?  I did write it down but is it needed?  Again, there is zero mentioning of this at all even in this thread which I find disappointing.
