overstock.com is accepting bitcoin now
Where do you see that? They announced it ages ago (it seems like). It was finally implemented within the last 24h. Go hit up Google or make an order on Overstock. (it's right in the payment options -- they use Coinbase)

Not fully disagreeing, but a couple things to keep in mind: 1) They would've otherwise been purchased in USD, possibly requiring BTC to be changed into USD through more cumbersome beasts. (I would've done this for my relatively large Overstock purchase a couple hours ago) 2) We can pretty safely assume the payment processors are keeping at least some of their fees as BTC.
Fiat<->BTC bridge services are non-ideal, but I wouldn't say they're necessarily hurting the price.

I would like an escrow service though I cannot afford a fee. I am willing to do this in increments if you are to go first.
No.

Yay. First went off without a hitch. Will do transactions openly in this thread to help minimize PM clutter. (no offense!) Will you buy 200k COYE at 0.05BTC?
No. BTC.028 Screw it alright 200k for 0.028BTC Sure thing. Can receive @ 5pxXvyCxUGVjRhWGSAMzm1EZQ59HATYeUP BTC addr? 1D4tbzBKJ84zNNr9c6X4ESc6whSBRjmCCT << BTC Address. Do you have an escrow or how does this work? I request you send first since I think I have enough established reputation to float BTC.028 for the duration of about a minute. I'd like to get and keep this fast-moving and not involve escrow, though I'd be open to an automated escrow service if you pay the fee.

Let's call it a "soft fixed rate." To move price, all stock of either coin must be sold out. Someone must then place an outstanding order .005 or more above or below the last ask or bid for a coin which no longer has reserves.
For example, there is currently 500K COYE in reserve. If someone buys them all, then places an outstanding order for, say, 5M COYE @ BTC.18/mil, the "fixed" price will move to BTC.17/mil with the same spread (BTC.16 sell, BTC.18 buy). Any outstanding orders beyond this must exceed the previous outstanding order by at least BTC.005. To help minimize manipulation and wasting my time, an outstanding order requires a 100% deposit. The deposit will be refunded in full if it is not at least partially filled within 12h.

So go buy at a discount until the discount's gone. Why tell us?

Hodling today while market prices are low.
Haven't seen this before. Thought it might be a fun experiment. 50% of profits will be reserved for something altruistic in COYE space.
Valuing COYE @ .15BTC/mil, or .00000015BTC/COYE. You always send first.
Sell COYE @ .14BTC/mil (250K min order) Buy COYE @ .16BTC/mil (250K min order)
Reserves: 1.5M COYE 0.358 BTC

Been putting off buying a ton of stuff waiting for this (office chair held together with gorilla tape, no bathroom storage, microwave and toaster oven sit on kitchen counter, haven't bothered putting chandeliers in house since buying it, 3-year-old still in crib, low on bath towels, never bothered buying a wedding band, never have enough forks, bed sheet's been ripped for about a year...). Spent a coin! Hard to believe a coin wouldn't even get you a pack of gum just a few short years ago.
ETA: I'll also admit I skimmed thread and thought "bitcoin" was a real code. There is a real 10% off "cookie" for new users, however. It's in site banner and you can google for it.
ETA2: $@#)* forgot a mattress for the bed set.

coinye.rapidhash.net = not connected once in 45 mn = same lol
Correct point for rapidhash is stratum.rapidhash.net:6666 Shit, you changed it less just before the coin launched ? I setted it to what's in your getting started just 30mn before ! Not my pool. They were kind of late on the boat, largely due to incorrect info on that page.

So I had a power failure overnight and one of my rigs had zero power when i turned it back on...It's a good 860 seasonic platinum. I didn't have a surge protector on it so i figured it fried...
I tested both outlets with a box fan and both plugs in the outlet worked...
get home from work tonight, put all my rigs on surge protectors, and the machine powers up fine...lol
anyone ever seen anything like that before?
This can happen if power cycled off and on rapidly. I experience it occasionally when I'm too lazy to hold down the designated power button on a case and instead just flip the power supply off and on. I'm not fully aware of the actual cause, but I'm guessing some capacitors were able to hold a charge through the cycle and certain components relying on those capacitors failing as indication that power shut off thus don't tell the graphics cards, mobo, or something else that the power shut off, so it's refusing your command to turn it back on since it thinks it's already on. I've also occasionally run into an issue where simply turning the power off and on with the PSU doesn't work to "cycle" it and I have to physically unplug it or switch the voltage from 120V to 220V, press the power button, then switch it back to 120V for it to power on. As they say... shit's fuckin' goofy.

could it really become so hot and ready to explode? I had it running on my S3 for several hours and did not notice anything abnormal. But I just wanted to test the application and not to really generate any big number of shares. I am not an expert in coin mining anyway, just a developer. In any case, the application lets you choose the number of cpu cores that it will run on. if you choose less than the max cores it will not use the full cpu power. also, if you put it into background android by design will not use the max cpu power. of course this means less khash. thanks They definitely will explode, or at least bulge to the point where they're unusable without securing the battery with duct tape (I'm not sure if this was their idea of a fail-safe). I should've given a time-frame, though. In my experience, the battery's bulged the back panel off after 2-4 months (it runs the WiFi app 24/7, keeping in mind it doesn't come close to full CPU load). None of the phone Li-ion (including both the Samsung brand the phone shipped with and so-called "upgrades") appear to have vents in them. Frankly, I think it's pretty shit product design, but I haven't found any safe ones for it. Li-ion battery explosions are pretty spectacular to see, but you wouldn't want it happening anywhere near you. Anyone using should keep close tabs on their battery and whether or not the sides are flat or bulging. The easy solution would be to simply take the battery out while the phone's under significant load, instead using just the charger. ETA: I'm guessing the issue is from poor handling of a charger on the phone's part, with the battery effectively being overcharged if battery's @ 100% and still plugged in. Should that be the case (and I don't know), you could alternately unplug the phone while it's under significant load, then plug it back in once the battery's mostly discharged - then just repeat the cycle so you don't have an issue where battery is @ 100%, phone is under significant load, and battery is still charging. Image of woman's thigh burned as a result of above explosion. Fairly graphic/disturbing.(ETA2: Mistyped. They're LiCoO2 ["Li-ion"], not LiPo. ETA3: Took issue up with Samsung since I'm kind of curious about the issue. Sorry to turn this thread into an off-topic "yer battery's gonna 'splode" alarmist discussion. Just something which bothers me a good bit since I'm always buying new batteries. Will post if Samsung gives "good practices" on how to avoid issue.)
