is it safe to be running the ants 24/7 with an empty house 5 days a week for 8 hours or so... getting a little concerned of them blowing up or catching fire...
As long as you have them correctly powered and cooled, there should be no issue and nothing to worry about. My ant was the only device on a 20 amp breaker using a 800 watt PSU. Shit happens.

Never a dull moment. Guess I will be watching BTC-E today ...

1 of my S1's was dead this morning, thought it was a bad psu. Plugged it into another and one of the caps exploded and started on fire! This is it for me now for sure.
I find that highly unlikely. Capacitors of the size found on the S1 aren't large enough to cause a fire unless you're stacking your S1s on top of gasoline or something. It's always possible that there was some freak accident, I suppose. It exploded as soon as I turned on the psu. POP. I was able to blow it out right away. All thats left is the inside of the cap all charred. It was the big silver one located just below and to the right of the 6 pin connector. I will post a pic tomorrow. It probably would have extinguished itself if I hadn't been there but its always a little scary with electrical fires. It doesn't look like there is much on the board to go up in flames but who knows. Lesson learned, I am getting a dry extinguisher asap just to be safe. And I would be happy to replace the S1 with a S2 if I was given a super awesome coupon for the trouble. Win-Win. Considering I have ordered 30 ants and this is the first bad blade its not too bad, 1 out of 60.

anyone in canada have experience with getting these ants... whats the customs procedure like? how much did you end up paying in taxes / duties?
About $26 a machine. No customs issues, just pay the man when he comes to your door. Its even cheaper for multiples. My last order of 9 averaged $18 per ant. Shipping is fast and smooth, no problem getting them in the country. About the same here, 92$ for each of my 5 unit orders brooo thats nowhere near the same as $26 / $18 per unit... really dont wanna get stuck paying around $100 x 8 units... in the comments section if i ask them to put a low value on it will they oblige...? Anyone want a voucher for a S2?
how much is it for and what are you looking to get for it? when does it expire? Bro, 92\5=18.40

so im a home miner, purchased both the SP30 and SP10 group buys (thank you Spondoolies-Tech and RoadStress) , definitely not an electrician so maybe you guys can answer this for me..
im reading everywhere that we want 220V 30amp to run our sp30s, ive got an outlet pretty much 4 feet below my breaker box that i will probably get an electrician to flange me up the 220V / 30A with but since there are going to be two PSU's and two power cables, what if a person ran one to an outlet on its own 120V / 15A and the other to another separate 120V / 15A. If i could dedicate these outlets for only running an SP30 would it power it to its fullest? Would have to run a heavy duty extension cord from one of the outlets.
or should i stick with the electrician route? im not opposed to paying to have this done, just curious about everything and anything.
You will be good with a 30 amp 220, you can draw more than 6000 watts from that and your PSU's will stay cooler and run more efficient. Just get yourself a 30amp PDU and some c13-c14 power cables to connect your PSU to the PDU and you're golden. PDU is a fancy name for a big ass power bar. Make sure the outlet you install matches up to the plug type on the PDU you buy. Most are Nema L6, and this is what the outlet looks like. http://www.grainger.com/product/LEVITON-Receptacle-1PKK1The best deals on outlets and PDU's are on eBay by far. That $40 outlet can be found for $12 and PDU's for under $80. That is not a good idea. You should not put more than 80% load on a circuit, and particularly be cautious of the voltage (a 220V connection may drop to ~210V under high load, thus drawing more amps). An L6-30 outlet is typically rated for 4.992kW continuous load. Its actually 240x30 which will give you 5760 at 80%. 6000 is safe especially if running effecient psu.

I have tons of PSU's to use from GPU days for myself that point is not a factor. I like the S1 because it is priced in BTC and at current price should generate a positive ROI in just a couple months and shipping is included. If I buy a SP10 in BTC it is going to be hard to come out with more BTC than I put in and its going to be a long stressful haul to get it back.
I wish you were more agressive with pricing. You have an excellent product and an opportunity to take over the game.
Sales have been slow at this price point. They should drop the price below the equivilent of 8 ants. They would slay the competition and Spoondoolies would be the new Bitmain taking over the network.
I think $2750 is a little low but they would sell like hotcakes yes I would certainly take one or two for sure You always start low
If they got the price down to $2750 these would sell like hotcakes! I'm BTC poor right now since I doubled down on Ants. Lets see what my 4.2 thash can bring in by the 16th

so the theory goes...
1Th/s brings in say $1000 a month. In two weeks it will only make.. $800... in one month it will only take $640.... in two months .. $409...
wow... this whole game has a six month shelf life. But of course if the value of the each coin/part coin mined increases then it will balance out slightly... i doubt will will see an increase of 20% every two weeks. But we should see something coming back in
If he buys it at 8BTC and he makes 6BTC and sells it back at 3 BTC he won one BTC, you have to compared a BTC amount to the number of BTC he is spending to buy it What about the BTC (electricity) to run it.
