1261  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to sell BTC peer-2-peer now that LocalBitcoins and Paxful closed? on: April 20, 2023, 02:31:45 PM
Here are some pretty solid alternatives you can check them out

1. bisq.network
2. hodlhodl.com
3. agoradesk.com
4. peachbitcoin.com

You can also keep track on some of the next exchanges that might poop up in the future from this site - https://kycnot.me
1262  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Wallet Update on: April 19, 2023, 11:55:13 PM
Mycelium sort of went on a downhill for me when they started advertising scam casinos like 1xbit and scam tokens on their app with referral links. Even when they were alerted, the developers just chose to ignore and instead chose to advertise scam for money.

You should probably look for a better wallet.

I downloaded the Mycelium just now directly from their website after installing it my Mycelium upgraded to 3.16.0.16 so the latest app is currently on their direct link not yet been on playstore I guess it has still under review by Playstore for 7 days since Mycelium is under finance category.
The latest version on the Playstore is 3.16.0.16 and the last update was in Feb

1263  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: my expirience on site Trustdice.com SCAM on: April 19, 2023, 11:43:14 PM
I can see that CG took a wise step by encouraging TD to do another video call. I'd like to advise you to use this occasion to ask in details what things would TD want you to show during the video call and to arrange it to a time where you're free so you can provide things they want you to show. Ask that on CG so there's a written proof that you've asked in details about what they require, so if they sprung something else that you can't provide --I hope we don't have to reach this point-- and it wasn't on their list, you have a written statement backing you up.
Don't be surprised if the next thing they ask from OP is a blood or DNA sample. The casino or whoever is trying to "verify" OP are a big joke. Everything they are doing right now is just a delay tactic. It's over a month, and they are not showing any sign of ending the dispute just yet.

I gave up on them.

I am beginning to believe that most of the other negative ratings about them on Trustpilot might be true
1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gas station payment with bitcoin. on: April 19, 2023, 11:00:35 PM
I want to know bitcoin wallet that will be nice for receiving payment with bitcoin that will be safe for this business payment.
It depends on how you plan to use the wallet. Will it be a hot wallet or cold wallet? The most recommended would be an open source hardware wallet like Trezor. More open-source hardware wallets can be found here - {list} Open Source Hardware Wallets

You could also opt for open source software noncustodial wallets like Electrum (https://electrum.org). Just make sure your device is completely clean and does not contain any potential malware.
1265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Is android laptop device good for installations? on: April 19, 2023, 10:52:03 PM
I have android laptop device that has properties of  3GB ROM and 380GB space. I wanted to use it to installed most bitcoin softwares like bitcoin core or electrum, infact I bought it for crypto stuffs and I check to see if I can use it run bitcoin node but while trying to do the installations the system gets hot and shutdown unexpected. What do you think could be the problem? Because is a new system window 8. Could it be that is not compatible or the interface is not enough to carryout softwares?

Here are the minimum system requirements to run Windows 8 on a device

Code:
Processor. 1 gigahertz (GHz)* or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE2 (more info)
RAM. 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space. 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card. Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver

Check out your processor. Some devices tend to start over heating when you install and run more apps on them
1266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Geeky crypto thief, 32, jailed for hiding $3billion in Bitcoin in popcorn tin on: April 19, 2023, 10:37:16 PM
The headline is misleading. He was not jailed for hiding bitcoins.

I know. I didn't make the headline.
But you can make yours, too. It's not a must that the headline should be the exact one as that from the source.  Wink
I am not surprised, it's an article from dailymail.co.uk with their usual stupid headlines that are nothing but clickbaits.

Basically, a hard drive that may have had the addresses containing Bitcoins was stashed in a popcorn tin. Let him serve his sentence, I have no pity for thieves, scammers, or hackers.
1267  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitrue exchange hacked for $23 million on: April 19, 2023, 09:35:38 PM
I never understand why people use exchanges with such a worst rating. Bitrue wasn't even a Top 20 exchange according to CoinMarketCap: https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges/
Looking for shitcoins to trade, perhaps?

Most shitcoins find their way to those low tier exchanges faster than they would on reputable exchanges

I would love to get the whole DEX process more streamlined and simpler as that way we can bring DeFi to everyone.
If I am not wrong, Uniswap doesn't even have its own mobile application nor does any other major DEX. They are missing a lot here to be honest.
The problem with the likes of Uniswap or pancake swap is that they also have lots of scam and fake tokens traded there. Any small mistake by a noob and the money is gone

I think the reason we are not seeing apps for such platforms is probably the challenge of connected a wallet to the app. For example, how will one connect a Metamask wallet to a uniswap app in the same mobile device?

1268  Economy / Exchanges / Re: SEC wants to regulate DEXs on: April 19, 2023, 08:41:39 PM
Does that mean the SEC will begin to enforce regulations on DEXs?
It's nothing new. The monitoring, the suing and enforcement by SEC has already been happening

Yes they are not decentralized

1269  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sheepy - new cryptocurrency payment gateway on: April 19, 2023, 08:21:19 PM
may also have our internal policies and risk appetite assessments that determine which countries or regions are considered high-risk for crypto payments.

I would really like to hear how it is determined that some countries are "high-risk" for crypto payments. Apart from certain countries that have banned crypto, I don't see how it can still be limited territorially.
When I looked at the list. I couldn't help but notice that most of the countries are low tier or what some people would refer as Third World countries. Most of these countries don't even have any sound legal framework when it comes to financial regulations.

Which makes me wonder who makes up this list of high-risk countries?
It's not like we will see The Government of Bolivia sue sheepy for not complying with their financial regulations, like the way SEC usually does with services that try to act with in the United States.

How they will attract new players to a team without being involved in an European competition...
The only answer is money. big salary is the only attractive thing that can still be offered by chelsea. I see no chance to attract another player other than used it.
Money is the only power owned by chelsea right now. It's likely chelsea will be so hard to get the new players.
It's not always about money, my friend

If they over spend, Financial Fair Play can bite them in the ass any time, and that will be game over for them.
Also, not so many high quality player look forward to playing in low tier teams. This is the truth. Chelsea may have the money to splash, but I think there might be an exodus of players instead.
1271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: April 18, 2023, 11:44:41 PM
Real Madrid should focus on Copa Del Rey and the Champions League
Wasn't their massive 4-1 aggregate win against Barcelona enough to convince you are they have their full focus on Copa Del Rey?
Wasn't their massive 4-0 aggregate win against Chelsea enough to convince you that they are fully focused on Champion's league?

Quote
But Madrid should not be too worried about the Copa Del Rey final. I don't think the opposition Osasuna team is very strong. If Madrid's performance is stable, they can become champions of the Copa Del Rey.
Don't underestimate Osasuna

If they want to win the Champions League title, Madrid will have to focus completely on the Champions League matches. Madrid had a great performance in the quarter-finals. They will likely play against Manchester City in the semi-finals. It will not be easy for Madrid to play against Guardiola's team. Moreover, Haaland is in very good form. Manchester City can't be beaten if they are not fully focused and in rhythm.
Haaland? Guardiola?
They are the 14 time UCL holders, that's not by accident, they can beat any team they face in the tournament on a good day. Have you forgotten what happened in the last campaign?
1272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving only 1 year away on: April 16, 2023, 11:39:58 PM
1 year won't be long to wait until Bitcoin halves, I'm also curious about what will happen in the future around 2050++ year when Bitcoin mining has lower rewards than today. If mining Bitcoin rewards are reduced in the upcoming years I hope that Bitcoin price will follow to increase to make miners keep mining Bitcoin.

Miners will still be able to get rewards via the mining fee paid for each transaction if the block they mine is not empty. So if the Bitcoin network keeps getting more and more popular, there will lots of Bitcoins earned from the transactions included in the blocks. That coupled with an increase in the Bitcoin price should be a good incentive for the miners.
1273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: separate phone for safety reasons? on: April 14, 2023, 11:56:39 PM
So long as the device isn't used to access the internet that can increase the chances of malware exposure, it should be fine. I have a preference for a laptop, as you can run an OS like Ubuntu directly from a USB stick or DVD if you plan to perform some transactions. Since you already have a hardware wallet, that's a good start.

2) Government lawsuits vs the exchanges, resulting in either confiscation of my BTC or resulting in a total ban of converting currency to BTC. Which would kill the value of BTC. I purchased a ledger device to avoid the scenario of FTX.
You can always use decentralized p2p exchanges like bisq to convert your bitcoins. So worry not.
1274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Bitcoin creator part of the government of China? on: April 14, 2023, 11:32:53 PM
Thoughts on that Bitcoin was created by a member of China.
What is this based on?

How were you able to come to such a conclusion? We should be able to see some so-called proofs about this from you.

And that once there is over 60 % adoption in the world. Someone will push a button and it will ignite to something much more powerful and controlling>? more centralized?
What kind of joke is this?

I hope you know how the Bitcoin network Operates
1275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: April 14, 2023, 11:02:02 PM
Real Madrid are currently focused on another big events I mean UCL, I think in tomorrow match Benzema may not be able to participate, because I think Ancelotti will rest him for next week in second leg against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile for tomorrow match it seems like Real Madrid will not lose points, because their current position has been threatened by Atletico Madrid club, and Ancelotti will try his best strategy to get the points. But to bet I don't really believe in Real Madrid, because you are right this is not an easy match for them, Cadiz will also to try they best effort to not lose points.
Real Madrid is a very unpredictable in the La liga this season when playing against low table teams, and it's why they are 13 points behind Barcelona despite starting so well earlier in the season.

I think by now their priorities have switched to the UCL and CDR trophy. I also expect a number of players to be rested, especially the ageing midfielders in Kroos and Modric. It could be an opportunity for the likes of Asensio to get more playing time
1276  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: April 14, 2023, 10:49:47 PM
Hello everyone, I would never have thought that I would be complaining about Stake due to it having a good reputation.

But recently they put my account in ''Withdrawal only'' mode, but the problem is that I still can't withdraw or bet, how is it ''Withdrawal only'' mode? if the user can not withdraw?

A support agent told me that I had problems with clause 4 of the ToS regarding KYC, but when I asked again he couldn't tell me if this was the reason I couldn't withdraw.

Anyway, I don't know how to proceed and it's a complete mess for a casino of this size

If there is anyone who has had experience with this matter or any agent wants to help me .. thanks for the help
Perhaps they want you to first undergo KYC verification before they can let you withdraw the funds. Was your account verified before?
The best form of help is probably through support since they are the ones who know why exactly your account was blocked

Try sending a private message to him and see if he can help, though he sent been online since 2 Feb ---> Stunna

I can vouch for their margin trading feature, it's one of the best in the market. And the good news is, their platform is way safer than Binance. Definitely worth considering.

Here comes the shillers lol.

Not just that.

Including OP, who just woke up to post about the mysterious exchange. Notice the similarity in their activity patterns

4. .cryptokiller Woke up 4/13/2023 7:34:12 AM
5.  frank07a Woke up 4/14/2023 10:02:26 AM

This clearly shows that this exchange should not be trusted at all.
1278  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by Joon aka NetkaJoon on: April 14, 2023, 09:44:34 PM
It seems that the profile's email address was changed recently, and I think that account might be hacked, or someone else might be using the account, or the accused has changed the email to dodge us.
I noticed it too, What's funny is that only the email address was changed recently and not the password. It could be the same person still operating the account. If A hacker was the one who took control of the account, we could have been able to see recent password change as well.

The fact that he edited the older ANNs shows that he knows what's going on.

I'm still in shock that how could you send 2 BTC, that is a big amount, to a Jr member with just 1 merit. Things are somewhat fishy, I mean no one could be so irresponsible to trust someone with a Junior rank and blindly send 2 BTC worth of coins without any proper escrow channel. Kindly, share complete details.
You will be shocked at how people lose their savings to random "beautiful looking internet girls"

Did you know this thread? I haven't seen your post there.

Edit: lock this thread.
I definitely didn't see it, perhaps because of the choice of title the OP of that thread used, otherwise it wouldn't make sense for me opening duplicate threads. At least, I am aware that's not a cool thing to do.

Locking this thread now. Anyone who want to discuss the topic can continue in this thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5448727.msg62086042#msg62086042
1280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Premier League clubs agree to withdraw gambling sponsorships on front of shirts on: April 13, 2023, 11:54:49 PM
According to the article by Sky Sports

Premier League clubs have agreed to withdraw gambling sponsorships on front of shirts.
Quote
There are eight current Premier League clubs with gambling companies as shirt-front sponsors, with an estimated value of £60m per annum; The change will begin at the start of the 2026/27 season

Quote
A Premier League statement read: "Premier League clubs have today collectively agreed to withdraw gambling sponsorship from the front of clubs' matchday shirts, becoming the first sports league in the UK to take such a measure voluntarily in order to reduce gambling advertising.

Quote
Teams with betting sponsors on shirts:

    Bournemouth
    Brentford
    Everton
    Fulham
    Leeds
    Newcastle
    Southampton
    West Ham

More information in the article

I kind of have mixed feelings on this, especially when it comes to crypto related gambling sites. When a crypto related service is advertised, it also indirectly advertises crypto
