I would suggest to use Linux instead of the shitty M$.
There are just too many holes and "back doors“ so your data is naver safe and I gave up following that drama.
Use the windows only for gaming, that's what is made for, at least for me, for the rest there are always alternatives.

And yeah, I've pretty much resigned myself to remaining with my current moniker forever.
Have you considered asking for a Custom Title instead? Those have been granted too.
No, I've never even considered considering asking for one, because I thought you had to be either a staff member or a donator to get one.  Do you know who's been granted one and under what circumstances?  It's not like I've done anything spectacular to earn one of those, and it seems to me that if Theymos is silently giving me the finger in response to a name change, there's no reason to think that he'd bestow what amounts to something much more special than that.

Never say never, maybe he will grant you the change as a Christmas present this year!
Well, he didn't last Christmas and he had 11 months to think about it.  I'm trying to internalize your optimism and hopefulness, but my brain keeps rejecting it, like an organ transplant failure.

As a one who has been though the process, I can give you an advance to contact Cyrus instead.
For me it took a couple of days.

125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodlonaut Trial on: October 24, 2022, 12:22:47 PM
I think hodlonaut should involve more people like this guy in the trial.

https://nitter.it/robertauger/status/1220515399856349184

and expose the "credibility" of the Chief 🤡.

Edited:

Some more 🤡 fun, if it's real.

Mr.🤡's ship is sinking, no matter how many "sugar daddies“ he'll try to get on board..
When can we expect the UK trial?

127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodlonaut Trial on: October 21, 2022, 08:27:33 PM
You all seems celebrating Hodlonaut's victory !  But have got any clues who is behind Hodlonut ?

The whole  case seems to me was a great setup for Craig to win and file another  case against all the Bitcoin Developers.

Craig is Chief Scientist of NChain. Who is the Chief scientist of Blockchain ?  You might say Gavin Bell (Anderson) but is he ?  What is the position of Craig now in the Bitcoin and Blockchain Space ?

I think he is a very good actor as Faketoshi. On the interrogation he admitted that he is Faketoshi.

I really doubt that there is someone behind Hodlonaut's back. Mr. Faketoshi is just trying to scare the ppl who put their voice up against his claims. But also he is focusing on people with less resources and not so techy like Hodlonaut and  Peter McCormack hoping that he can make some easy wins (imagine the price for 9 lawyers in Norway!). I wonder why he didn't go after Buterin? Mr.Eth has x10 followers, and stated officially his position against faketoshi, he has done way more "damage" (lmao ... sorry) than our space cat.

Damn, I cannot wait until 8th of November. Getting exiting already...
Fortunately, you don't have to: https://twitter.com/hodlonaut/status/1583086284792205312

Quote
[Hodlonaut] won the case. He is therefore basically entitled to full compensation for his reasonable and necessary legal costs

Quote
The court believes that [Hodlonaut] had sufficient factual grounds to claim that Wright had lied and cheated in his attempt to prove that he is Satoshi Nakamoto. At the time of the remarks, there was public discussion about whether Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto or not. In media coverage, the prevailing opinion was that Wright was not Satoshi Nakamoto. The court refers to the previously mentioned articles from Gizmodo (2015), and BBC News The Guardian and GQ Magazine (2016). Both parties have tried to prove that Wright is and is not Satoshi Nakamoto, respectively. The court points out that the evidence brought in the case is not suitable to change the prevailing opinion that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto.

Thank you!!! Finally, Mr. Wrong was proven wrong... Next step is confirmation of the same statement in UK!!
That's another great news after bsv fee statement and "freezing" and the legal threats and turning the miners against him...
129  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: October 17, 2022, 08:11:58 PM
Not really sure but I might be able to prove ownership of certain addresses I used in past which are of exchange's addresses.
Note that for signing a message from a bitcoin address, you need to have full control over the address. This means that you must own the private key of the address.
The deposit address an exchange gives you isn't owned by you. That's owned by the exchange and you can't sign a message from that.

I know, and I agree with you Smiley The addy exchanges give to me isn't owned by me, but the account in those exchanges are owned by me...anyways I don't have any private key to any of the non custodial wallet addresses which I have used for bounties since I disposed them off while taking a break and I staked only one address only to later find I have disposed the seed phrase of it.
You can move some amount of coins which is decided by those who need the proof, if you don't have control over the private keys.
It's been done before, and I think the recovery team will accept it.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodlonaut Trial on: October 17, 2022, 11:19:50 AM
The official deadline is November 8th, but we're expecting/hoping it to be announced earlier than that.
The October 7 you may be remembering was only to fill the costs papers.

Thanks dude! That's why I was thinking about October, I listened the whole trial, and now I remember that there was this about the costs.
Damn, I cannot wait until 8th of November. Getting exiting already...
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodlonaut Trial on: October 17, 2022, 09:47:30 AM
When will be the verdict announced?
If I remember correctly it was in the middle of October ( or maybe it was November).

The judge said she will notify the both parties a few days prior, when she is ready, but I can't find any more info about it.
132  Other / Meta / Re: Do you want a BitcoinCleanup factoid? on: October 07, 2022, 09:19:48 AM
It's fine by me.

But what I would like to see is the factoids on the main page as well.
Another thing is that in those threads the factoids are getting lost in a way. The ads were more colorful and were dragging more attention.

Maybe adding some kind of color code or an some bbcode icons could draw more attention ✅.

I barely noticing them while reading comments, because when you are focused on the conversation ( thanks God there are still such threads) you just jump over the text..

You've Merited that topic, so you should know this already.

I wish I had the memory to remember all the topics I've merited Cheesy. I cannot remember what I ate yday but what I remember is all the Paw patrol and Barbapapa episodes.
There's a good side to that bad memory, re-watching some old classics I have watched many years ago just fascinate me again and are keeping me under pressure until the end. Lol

OK, enough off-topic. Thank you for refreshing my memory. Seems like I've been off the DT thanks to the lottery only for 6 months (not counting the time i had the STRIKE and intentionally left) Smiley
134  Other / Meta / Re: Would you be interested in promoting Bitcoin projects/services for free? on: October 07, 2022, 09:01:12 AM
I did it before and I do it now Smiley Money is not everything and I'm not here for the money. It's nice to get a bonus for spending the time here, tho, but this should not be the main reason to be here.
135  Other / Meta / Re: DefaultTrust changes on: October 05, 2022, 11:21:39 AM
Damn, I've been for quite some time in DT1 now. Is there any place we can see how many times we have dropped off the DT1 list?

On the off-topic note, I love Dilbert @LoyceV and we studied Dante in school @fillippone and If I remember correctly I had a test on Inferno but that was like a century ago..lol Smiley

136  Economy / Reputation / Re: jerry0 case on: October 02, 2022, 07:46:46 AM
I have a bit crazy idea, but the cheaters are getting more and more advanced these days.

What if he is running a service to create threads so people with paid signatures to be able to reach theirs post quotas quickly and easily just posting all the same bullshit answers?

I hope I'm not giving them ideas...
137  Other / Meta / Re: I'm not receiving email notifications on: September 27, 2022, 02:01:46 PM
@TheBeardedBaby

Thanks, you give me an idea. I could use the bot to probably make a rule ">>>if telegram's notifivation>>>send email"
The second email you used, was it a private or a public one? Because it doesn't seem to make a difference to me.

It doesn't really matter what email you going to use. I created a "fresh" one just to be sure that no spam will pollute the notifications and add just another security tier, random generated password stored in the password manager.
So you want to receive only emails? Telegram notifications are very quick in response and you can watch/unwatch a thread very easy, ( thank you @TryNinga) and telegram working in background do take some battery life but for me it's worth it.

I love Seiko too Tongue love watches in general, don't like the smart ones, they are useful but no charm like the ticking sound of the movement of the REAL watch. But the way of living is pushing me to have a smart one that's why I only have a smartband.
138  Other / Meta / Re: I'm not receiving email notifications on: September 27, 2022, 06:56:40 AM
I had the same issue. I setup a second email only for the notifications, and set up a rule, to forward all the incoming emails from bitcointalk to the notification email and worked fine for a while. Noticed that the notification mails are coming quite late after a post is made sometimes you wait days, so I just gave up on that solution.

You can use TryNinja's Telegram bot for Topics tracking. Much more reliable for sure.

Combining this solution with a smart watch is all you will ever need.

Bumping this to keep up the good spirit and hope for this endeavor will come to success.
... and of course we want an update....
140  Other / Meta / Re: BSV subforum on: September 26, 2022, 07:45:08 PM
Thing is, we know to verify and not trust.  But con-men are talented at getting joe-public to trust.  The average person out there will not know how to verify a signed message.  They may not even understand what that means.  What they do understand is "[X] number of people said some skeezy shit-sack is satoshi".  The more people who hear that, the more who will believe it because they're willing to form opinions based on trust.  Therefore, it's better if we reduce X.
I support this, just because when I started reading the forum, I also got fooled by Gavin's statement and thought that CSW was the best candidate to be Satoshi at that time.
The time has passed and I kept digging, and reading and of course my opinion changed like 180deg. but if you only scratch the surface and you don't really realize what is happening, you will fall the same way I did back in 2018, then the media will starts shitposting and if it happens that he win a court case OMG the there's gonna be a blast for him and coingeek.

We have an old saying ... If one lie is repleaded 100 times it becomes the truth... 🤮

Well I can say that some people may know him, maybe not in person but for sure had a close communication in some way. My best guess is theymos, he is the Admin now and satoshi was the creator of the forum. I do believe that he knew the guy or what sits beghind the satoshi name.
How about those guys /the admins/: https://sourceforge.net/p/bitcoin/wiki/Home/
For me Craig Wright is the guy, as Gavin Andresen said in the video below, that  Mr Craig Wright digitally signed messages using cryptographic keys linked to blocks of bitcoins known to have been mined by Satoshi Nakamoto.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNZyRMG2CjA&t=6s
Possessing the key does not automatically make him Satoshi but it's a really high change to be him.
