1081  Other / Meta / Re: Will this be sufficient proof? No, so? on: August 21, 2020, 11:00:05 AM
If you cannot provide proof which can be verified, you can't do much. If we are talking for plagiarisms, and the penitently is PERMABAN anyone can fabricate a fake "proof" and get you banned for nothing. So I think this will be a small door around the rules. That's what I think tho. Mods can give opinion as well.
Hope no sucker will read this thread and benefit from it.. Sad

Off-topic: Nice post count btw Smiley
1082  Other / Meta / SMF Search engine question. on: August 21, 2020, 10:44:53 AM
How difficult is to add new search option to exclude results from specific person(s)?

Now we have two options in the "by user" field:

  • "*" - all users
  • <username> - specific username

I'm looking for this option "~" to exclude from the results the post made by a specific user.

Example :
 ~<user1>

If it's easy they we can have also additional option like:
~<user1>; ~<user2> ...~<userN> - exclude more users.

Use case scenarios are:

Hunting for connected accounts- looking for specific address. Easily show who else posted the same address. Same with telegram IDs and Twitter accounts.

Many alt account hunters will benefit from this option.
1083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: hello every one i need help with old passphrase on: August 21, 2020, 06:38:39 AM
The other question is why the creator kept private keys, and do those pr. keys belong to the physical coins.
Did he keep private keys those?

I'm referring to those 35 bitcoins he manage to retrieve. He said that next to each address there was a private key or a seed.
I have no idea if those coins belong to the actual physical coins, that's why I asked for at least one address from those with the 35 btc funds. If this address appear in one of the lists with the coins, that it can be either someone who bought many coins, peeled them off and made a database with the addresses and private keys, or our OP have gotten in possession (legally or illegally) the actual hard-disk of the creator of the physical coins and they contained private keys which is not what the creator stated here.

~
the 35btc was already have privatekey file next to the address .

Looking at the pictures the OP has posted, I'm a bit more convinced that he might have access to the creators hard disk.

Quoting for reference.

Don't waste your time on the 6 word passphrases. They are not seeds.
Those are only a blockchain.info wallet passphrases, but you need the decrypted private key. Let me know if you find any keys starting with '6P'. If you have them I might be able to help.

Can you please post at least one of those addresses you have access the 35BTCs already? Just one address, nothing more...

the 35btc was already have privatekey file next to the address .

but i found a file that have something maybe you know what they mean .

that file was in Microsoft word  :

HOWTO FUND THE COIN
====================

1. Download list of generated addresses for Series 3 from this link: ( i delete the link )
use this key to download:  ( i delete the key )
2. Read and copy QR code of the back of printed certificate, this is the bitcoin address of your coin
3. Check that address just read is in the full list you downloaded. You can find this reading ‘bitcoin address’ column.
4. Check that ID number of front of the certificate match with ‘ID number’ column of that list too.
4. If steps 3 and 4 are OK the you can send the desired amount of btc to that address to fund the coin using your preferred bitcoin wallet.
5. Check your transaction is confirmed at http://blockchain.info/address/put-your-address-here

HOWTO REDEEM THE COIN
=======================

1. Peel off the security hologram of the coin

2. Read and copy QR code of the printed paper under the hologram, this is the encrypted private key of your coin (begin with ‘6P’).

3. Read and copy the passphrase printed on the back of certificate

Option 1: Using http://bit2factor.org (recommended)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Go to Two-Factor Escrow -> Decrypt private key option
And paste there the encrypted private key (from step 2) and the passphrase (from step 3).
Finally click ‘Decrypt private key’ option and copy the private key (WIF format, begin with ‘5’).

5. Open your preferred (BIP38 compatible, like blockchain.info, bitcoin-qt, electrum) bitcoin wallet and find ‘import private key’ option or similar and paste there your private key from step 4.

6. Check your bitcoin wallet balance to reflect the amount of btc from recently imported coin.

Option 2: Using http://blockchain.info/wallet
----------------------------------------------------------

4. Go to ‘Import/export’ -> ‘Import private key’ option
And paste there the encrypted private key (from step 2) and click ‘import private key’, it will ask you the passphrase, so you will paste it (from step 3).
Finally click ‘import’ option.

5. Check your coin address will show in the wallet addresses list.

6. Check your bitcoin wallet balance to reflect the amount of btc from recently imported coin.

This just convinced me that you have in possession the HDD of the creator of bhCoins.
See below.

Please explain how you got in control of the hard drive, obviously you are not the original creator of the physical coins. He knows how to redeem the bitcoinsfor sure.

The other question is why the creator kept private keys, and do those pr. keys belong to the physical coins.

UPDATE 15/04!!!!: [OPEN] bhCoins Serie 4 DIY physical bitcoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=951699.0

UPDATE 10/17: full list of generated address (only for buyers) is here https://mega.co.nz/#!fcsGRRYK

Hi, we’re proud to introduce you the brand new bhCoin 2F Serie 3 (BIP38 compatible or Two Factor coin).

It's a limited edition of 200 coins, and we reserve for ourself the first 20 of them.

We generate the encrypted key (BIP38) and we assemble the coin and send it to you via registered letter mail.

Along with the coin we send you a certificate with the passphrase randomly generated so you can redeem the coin funds on a bitcoin wallet compatible with BIP38, as blockchain.info/wallet is.

You contact us and we send you a custom payment address. After receiving the payment we ship you asap.

The coins are UNFUNDED. We can fund them if buyer send us the 0.1 btc for each coin.

It has been a long time but now we have registered our official forum user, until we post updates here we are considered as “newbie” (but we can give references from our actual clients).

We have freenode IRC user too.

Price will increase as the edition sells out.

We will wait your order!

You just report it with the following >

"Dead project! OP is inactive for <insert time> time and the website is inaccessible. Please lock the topic to avoid further spam"

This should be enough to get the topic locked and slowly die in oblivion.
No need for further actions I think.
1088  Other / Meta / Re: Round #3 Paraphrasing/synonymize, is it ok? on: August 19, 2020, 01:23:00 PM
This remind me for the time when the cheaters were using a tools to post a the same text full of weird synonyms and were using the homographs to they won't be detected. I thought that, this time was over but looks like it isn't.

I took the two texts in a a plagiarism checker and I got 25% match. See below.

So they are managing to fool the computer but the humans not so easy fooled.
I have to get back to searching for not so popular synonym keywords again and see what is the current situation.

Hope the mods will take away his change to post his garbage here.
1089  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk posting etiquette on: August 19, 2020, 11:32:21 AM
Just a suggestion. On the extremly(not only) long posts with a lot of info, sometimes people get lost what is all about so adding a TL;DR (a shor summary) at the end of the post is really helful for those who have not time to read it all but in case it's interesting they will read it later.
This sould be a must but..  again if you can say with two sentences everything important that is written on a two pages post then do you really need the 2 pages post, it's a forum not a newspaper...
1090  Other / Meta / Re: 2020 Merit Source Application - TheBeardedBaby. on: August 19, 2020, 11:18:00 AM
I don't know why I didn't notice this thread before now.

For the moment I have just one question:

Background:

A few weeks ago I posted a set of questions to each of two UID's who, like yourself, are hoping to become merit sources.

  • One has not responded to my questions, but has to others' posted since.
  • The other has engaged in DT trust abuse in the hopes to silence my questions.

Question:

So, my question to you is should either of those merit source applicants be taken seriously, or discounted?

If they didn't want to answer questions, this is their decision and right but since they posted their applications and based on what theymos said that if you are somehow established member you have a chance to become a source, it should be fine. Doesn't really matter how serious we take those applications, what matters is how theymos will see them and decide.
1091  Other / Meta / Re: [Ref] Hey theymos I've got a brilliant idea (honest!) & other symbols of use on: August 19, 2020, 07:17:09 AM
Can't we just move to the new forum, instead of asking for new elements to be added on this old-forum? Its been so many years that the forum has been under development, so it only makes more sense.

Is there an ETA for when the new forum is to be fully out? I see the github commits on the discord bot, but other than that not much Sad

It's not that easy just to migrate to Epochtalk. ETA will be determine by the users, see the below quote. At the moment there are a few running forums with Epochtalk and one of them is supported by Cyrus team so if anyone want to join and help with bug hunting is very welcome here > https://coinbistro.com
If we don't do anything the project will never come to life.
In short: If you want the software quicker, go run your own forum with it, and work to get any problems or missing features you find resolved via bug reports, etc. This would increase public interest, provide much-needed testing, and I might even hire you to work on bitcointalk.org when we're ready to do the final transition here.

Even that I don't agree 100% with theymos on that, for me it will be easier to hire a proper QA and do the job for a month or two instead of dragging this project for years and years, I'm trying to help with it when I have time, like everyone should do.

@OP I get you idea but we have the most important sign, BTC it's enough for me. Let the other altcoin forums bang their heads in the wall on the new shtcoin signs.... Wink

Well, bump.

Nexp bump will be for Christmas and then for Ester... things are going in that direction Cheesy

I think Epochtalk will be implemented before we get a merit rise, or at least some people becoming sources  Roll Eyes

The summer is almost over now, soon to be 9 months of waiting. I know that for the good stuff you need to wait a lot, but I could have one more kid for that time I was waiting, just sayin'...
From September I will be home for some months so I would have some time to send some merit.
Stay safe people Smiley

1095  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Best Way to Encrypt Recovery Words for Wallet for Heirs? on: August 18, 2020, 09:29:43 AM
There is an interesting reading here almost on your subject, Using Locktime for inheritance planning, backups or gifts
The transactions are time locked so people will have access after given time, so they will not have access on the time when your will enters into force.
I'm sure you will find some answers there.
In addition, here is already a company working on those timelocked transactions, read the Ann thread here > [ANN/PoC] Coldkey Cryptobond - FIRST Timelocked Physical Bitcoin
1096  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: August 17, 2020, 04:11:40 PM
I agree that the formula should be as simple as possible being on the DT can be included into recognition score. For every period on DT you can get a little extra.

Maybe not so much being in DT but rather some sort of cumulative total of all inclusions and exclusions weighed by something or other (wanted to say merit but that might be wrong).

I'd probably do something like this if I had time, even if it's not part of the recognition score.

That would be nice as some extra stats.
1097  Other / Meta / Re: [suggestion][userscript] show user summary when click on the username on: August 17, 2020, 07:30:25 AM
Do you think we will be seeing the forum transferred to the new forum software very soon? Let's say in the next five years :-P
I think that is a possible time frame, this is the last message from theymos I have come across regarding the status of the new forum software; it was vaguely optimistic and listed a few limitations which are delaying the transition (mainly security and privacy concerns), you should note that this was close to 20 months ago so it's possible some issues have been solved and new ones may have popped up.

Limited testing was one of the issues listed at that time and is the only one the community can collectively help out with: beta testing thread

The beta site is down for many years now and had not so much success. Instead there are a few more forums using Epochtalk now, and one of them is created by the other admin - Cyrus and his team exactly for the purpose of testing.
You can check it out here: https://coinbistro.com/
The more people testing it, the sooner we'll get the new software implemented.
You can also see the development overview thread here >

Back to the OP. The idea is OK but for me clicking the scroll button on the mouse do almost the same job Smiley

Would anyone be interested in a forum telegram channel and potentially group chat? No idea how I'd ensure not getting a bunch of random reputation flags if I made one but as a spin off project I don't think it sounds an awful idea?

We already have a discord server, official one created by Cyrus with the approval of theymos but again, it's not that popular among the users here. Only few of us are using it. It was meant to be only for the halving but it was so fun so Cyrus decided to keep it. There are different channels and also suggestions and voting for new ones so I don't think we need something more on that front.
