You are downloading the blockchain so to see all the transactions you need to wait to completly download all. If there are 6 years left, then you are at 2014 at the moment so you will see all the transaction at that point.

You can see the current balance here : 1Q5ib1cm8SG7N7UL8NYHpXvNmTF7cdZCg

Thanks for the pictures,
I was referring to this one >

On the top you see the bluematt-key.pgp.

BTW, Have you tried to open this PrivateKeyNotes.md file? those are text files you can open with Notepad

EDIT, The bluematt-key.pgp is part of a Gitian software so based on the name cannot be connected to a specific person. I did my best but I cannot find the owner.
1062  Other / New forum software / Re: Epochtalk development overview. Current version:1.27.2 (2020-08-20) on: August 25, 2020, 12:38:55 PM
is there a version of the software with all the updates installed somewhere? I want to try it. I can install it on my server, but I am afraid I will lose curiosity.  Grin
is there any estimated time, when it is expected to be finished if it is ever possible to complete any software?

I think you are looking for something like the https://coinbistro.com you can see how the software looks and feels like but I don't know how updated is, the last time I asked was on 1.26.1 If I remember correctly so I guess they are keeping it up to date Smiley
Good luck Smiley
1063  Other / Meta / Re: {LIST}of the Merit Sources asking for more smerit. New Round. on: August 25, 2020, 12:13:31 PM
I am dry, as always.

probably a good idea to make some decent posts then Grin
Yeah, I am struggling at that.
Thinking about of embracing the UBMI : "Universal Basic Merit Income".

We had a merit QE, why not merit MMT?

merit printer go brrrrrr?

I don't think theymos will like the idea.. you guys are just reducing your chances like that...
I almost give up on waiting to be a merit source, it clear now that it will happen when we migrate to the new software, and I get the theymos idea, I'll be a pensioner and I'll have more free time to read and send merit...

Edit: I know it was a joke, I was joking too. ⬇
1064  Other / Meta / Re: How are we expected to rank up? on: August 24, 2020, 09:25:03 PM
I was a member when everything changed. There were hust a few merit sources back then and the distribution of was not like now, it's easier now, less spammers more sources and higher chance to rank up if you are genuin user.

Don't think about ranking up. Think about that ypu should build a good reputation, this is what makes you valuable, the merit and ranking up will come later. Just be yourself, ask, learn and then try to help, and you'll get there in no time.
Good luck, this forum badly needs more genuin users, so you are welcome Wink

@OP Can you please post again the screenshot of all the files, You can send it to me in a PM if you want. I think I might be able to locate the person who this wallet blongs to.

I'm interested in a .PGP file. I saw it on the picture and it was called BlueMatt<something>.pgp and we know that the .pgp file is - a security key or digital signature file which can verify the user identity so I tend to believe the BlueMatt is the owner. He has a blog on bitcoin.ninja : https://bluematt.bitcoin.ninja/about/
There I found his Twitter and sent him a DM.

I tend to believe that he is the original owner of the hard drive, let's see what happens...

which pic you want ?
i forget what pic i but ?

The picture of the folder with all the wallet files.
There should be a file called bluematt.pgp or something like that in it.
1066  Other / Meta / Re: TOR + New accounts = Impossible (for free). on: August 24, 2020, 12:14:46 PM
There is no way around this while continuing to use Tor, unfortunately. Either you pay the fee, or you continually pick new exit nodes and register a new account from each until you find one which is relative new and therefore does not have an evil fee yet.

Since you are already an established member, I don't think it would be unreasonable to ask for your alt account to be manually whitelisted without paying the evil fee.

This thread is not about my alts, I can always create a new alt without TOR as I did it before, The idea is that the forum is advising that if people are concern for their privacy they have to use TOR but as I said you have to pay for this, so it can be added that additional fees may apply during registration.

Imagine you register an account trough TOR with all that captcha solving for 5-10 min and then suddenly you have to pay. If you don't have/own bitcoin and you don't know how to pay then you probably be disappointed and will never come back.

1068  Other / Meta / Re: TOR + New accounts = Impossible (for free). on: August 24, 2020, 08:38:45 AM
What I wanted to note is that, people are advised to use TOR for better privacy protection but they are actually gonna face the at least 10 Captcha solving and a fee in addition. So in the privacy statement should be noted that if you wish to create an account trough TOR you should expect some fees which have to be paid to be able to post in the forum.
Sure. I understood your points. It is the root problems with Tor so that people who use Tor have to aware of such.

How about VPN to create account? Then later on use Tor to log-in and make post? I did not try but it is my pop-up ideas. I think it can work and maybe better than Tor at beginning.

The spammers/acc.farmers already took the advantige of this. Sometime ago I tried with the integraed Opera VPN, same thing and I'm prety sure that the rest of those free VPNs are aslo listed with Evil fees. Thinking about it, there is a big chance that the paid VPNs are abused too, but I won't buy one just to try.
Pretty much if you want privacy you have to pay for it one way or another. Nothing anymore is free...
1069  Other / New forum software / Re: How do you use the "draft" option on: August 24, 2020, 08:35:03 AM
The number of saved drafts and the days they were saved could be rank/activity connected. The same as the posting time. That way the server load will be reduced quite a lot as many newbies(spambies) never "level up". If you reach Legendary, then you can have those 1000 drafts and 30 days history. Smiley
1070  Other / Meta / Re: TOR + New accounts = Impossible (for free). on: August 24, 2020, 08:20:56 AM
Both got banned with Evil fees.
It is not true for all cases. Banned or not banned, it depends on evil score of exit node when you use Tor to create accounts. Evil scores are adjusted over time (no one knows how the score will be degraded over time, but theymos discloses it does degrade).

For real users, paying a few BTC to buy Copper Membership if a new account gets banned because of evil IP is not bad. It is acceptable. However, to have evil IPs that mean owners or users of those IPs are actually create many accounts (more than 3 in short period - I don't remember where I read it but I recalled that someone said so) then those people mainly feel unacceptable to pay for Copper Membership.

I tried with different exit nodes, what I didn't check was if the Evil fees are the same or different. Depending on the number of banned accounts the fee can vary. I don't want to recklessly create 1000 accounts just to get one without fees, but it's not the point of the thread.
What I wanted to note is that, people are advised to use TOR for better privacy protection but they are actually gonna face the at least 10 Captcha solving and a fee in addition. 1071  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BPIP] Bitcointalk Public Information Project [Back in Action] on: August 24, 2020, 08:01:46 AM
Does anyone know how will BPIP website and extension behave when new forum software is installed?
I started to test new software and I see many changes compared with this, and I think this will break BPIP.
It would not like to lose all the goodies so easy Smiley

When is the purported new forum software coming?

I just gonna quote myself here :

Can't we just move to the new forum, instead of asking for new elements to be added on this old-forum? Its been so many years that the forum has been under development, so it only makes more sense.

Is there an ETA for when the new forum is to be fully out? I see the github commits on the discord bot, but other than that not much Sad

It's not that easy just to migrate to Epochtalk. ETA will be determine by the users, see the below quote. At the moment there are a few running forums with Epochtalk and one of them is supported by Cyrus team so if anyone want to join and help with bug hunting is very welcome here > https://coinbistro.com
If we don't do anything the project will never come to life.
In short: If you want the software quicker, go run your own forum with it, and work to get any problems or missing features you find resolved via bug reports, etc. This would increase public interest, provide much-needed testing, and I might even hire you to work on bitcointalk.org when we're ready to do the final transition here.

Even that I don't agree 100% with theymos on that, for me it will be easier to hire a proper QA and do the job for a month or two instead of dragging this project for years and years, I'm trying to help with it when I have time, like everyone should do.

@OP I get you idea but we have the most important sign, BTC it's enough for me. Let the other altcoin forums bang their heads in the wall on the new shtcoin signs.... Wink

Further questions regarding the New forum sotware are to be posted  here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=167.0
So we do not derail this topic.

1073  Other / Meta / TOR + New accounts = Impossible (for free). on: August 24, 2020, 06:16:52 AM
There were many threads already regarding the issues with the TOR browser and the Captcha problems, but not so many for new users and Evil score.

I tried to register an Alt account using Tor. No chance.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2844402
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2844391

Both got banned with Evil fees. I understand that many were abusing TOR in the forum but than this statement in the privacy link should be edited >
From here:

It's possible to use bitcointalk.org without submitting any personal info. Use Tor + a throwaway email + a new pseudonym, etc. If you care about preventing personal information from being collected on bitcointalk.org, then preventing this collection is your responsibility.

Well, paying for your security is not that bad but since everyone else is making accounts for free this should be at least noted and explained in the privacy link from above.
1074  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism- reporting after ban & should all posts be purged. on: August 23, 2020, 08:56:46 PM
I can share just a little internal information, the posts often are kept as evidence. I think this applies for junior accouts and above.
I was asked a few times to not report posts due to undergoing investigation, with the time those involved accounts were dealt with.
This applies mostly when I'm reporting connected accounts/farms. But it can be applicable to different cases ad well.

There is a reason behind every action ( or absence of action) but too often we are nor aware of it.

So all i need is to wait for bitcoin core to download all blocks ! Yes

And if its 300btc I promise you will get at least 10btc

You was very kind guy and most helpfull

Wow, I didn't expect that. That's really a lot of money. If it happens so, I'll give part of it for charity, I already know who's life I can change.
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: hello every one i need help with old passphrase on: August 21, 2020, 10:29:46 PM
ETH you'll want something like MyEtherWallet or MyCrypto

Be careful when trying to use these websites... there are a LOT of scam "clones" designed to steal private keys. So take your time, double (or triple) check URLs and don't rush.

As for wallet.dats, Bitcoin Core (and it's derivatives like Bitcoin Knots) are the only wallet applications compatible with "wallet.dat"... So, if you have a BTC "wallet.dat", then your only real wallet software option is Bitcoin Core.

Likewise, if you have a "wallet.dat" for an altcoin like litecoin, or dogecoin etc... then you'll need to download the appropriate "Core" wallet for that particular coin.

Generally, you don't need to download the full blockchain, you can export the private keys and then import those keys into a lightweight (SPV) wallet like Electrum etc...

There are also ways to extract the keys from a "wallet.dat" without needing to use the wallet software (ie. Python scripts like PyWallet etc), but they're arguably more complex to use and can be problematic to use if you're not overly familiar with Python and running scripts from the command line.

is that mean im a milliner now  ?

https://ibb.co/FqjrJ5w

Check the address under the transaction on the https://blockchair.com/ or another block explorer.
If the address begin with "m" then it is a test net wallet and those are only test net bitcoins, but I guess that's not your case. Most likely you are one Smiley

It's quite exiting even for a side observer like me Smiley
1077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: hello every one i need help with old passphrase on: August 21, 2020, 04:21:54 PM
See if you can locate some passphrases for those wallets.

BTW you can download the blockchain from a torrent file, on different computer. Then you can try all the others .dat files.
1078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: hello every one i need help with old passphrase on: August 21, 2020, 03:37:15 PM
This is big collection of files to try.
Copy everything on one USB drive, Download bitcoin-qt, install it on separate PC, wait to synchronize then disconect the internet and import the wallet.dat files from the USB.
You always need to have a backup so don't do anything to the original files.
Probably the wallet.dat files will be protected with a password, but it should be easy to find in all those files there.

You have already learned your lesson, so don't trust anyone to send files to or give access. You can probably follow the instruction of some of the reputed members here. They would not risk their accounts to be ruined.

If you have evidence for the guy who scammed you, maybe it's also a good idea to post accusations.
Main Rule > Never trust newbie accounts!!!

Good luck. You already are a luck man Smiley

thanks but it says i need like 6 years to download blocks ?

and i already learn my lesson . i have many msg about making me a script ot help but i want help here not in msg .

thanks

You can just export the private key without downloading the whole blockchain like using :
Quote
dumpprivkey "your bitcoin address"

Then just import the private keys in Electrum.

I have no idea if those coins belong to the actual physical coins
I could only find addresses for Series 1 and Series 4: none of those addresses have been redeemed recently.

Looking at the pictures the OP has posted, I'm a bit more convinced that he might have access to the creators hard disk.
We never got clear what's under the "Redeem" QR, but it's starting to make sense if that's a BIP38 encrypted private key.
However, this is what OP said about it:
the QR show only the btc address thats the problem and only with 6 word key to redeem and collect .
That wouldn't explain why he removed the Redeem QR. Unless it was blank already.

if you know who is the owner for that HHD i can help him and take my 30% of what he lost

You are anonymous here anyway, please explain how you found this hard-drive? Also it's not very clear who was the previous owner, there should be some clues on that hard drive.

You know, bitcoin is a great invention and for the honest people this is a game changer. Unfortunately many conman are also impressed by the possibilities to trick and scam people without leaving their desks. That's why the world sees the bitcoin and crypto in general as a tool for stealing money. We need more good people to change that impression.

I admire your will the help and return the coins to the real owner (and keeping your share), if this is your real intention, please check this hard drive for more information, but if you find something, please don't expose any personal info here. Send it to someone with a good reputation like LoyceV (but ask him first if it's OK).

We badly need more good people in the crypo field.
