1121  Other / New forum software / Re: How do you use the "draft" option on: August 10, 2020, 08:42:16 AM
I agree with both of you.
I used this option only a few times when I accidentally deleted a reply full with data and formatting which will take a lot of time to write from scratch. But in the current situation the draft is saved until you post the post, then the draft is deleted. Also I don't have the access to the previous edits of the draft only the last one. What I noticed, if you edit your last post the draft is saved, then you save your edited post, and make a new one then comes a question if you want to load the draft. This shouldn't be like that. If you edit the post and hit "edit post" button the draft should be cleared.

1122  Other / Meta / Re: Is this considered an off topic or low quality post? on: August 10, 2020, 07:58:44 AM
On the CM campaign thread are often posted many applications while the status is FULL and off-topic but many of the old time members don't like meaningless conversations there and report the posts. The campaign is very popular and everyone is trying to apply for it despite the fact that the campaign is always full. In your situation there's actually an open slot, but it's not yet being announced so I guess that's why there is no surprise that your post was removed, you need to make some research before you post a reply.
1123  Other / Meta / Re: Make this forum a better place - part 1 on: August 08, 2020, 02:49:57 PM
My experience with all the suggestions I made until now is that only handful of people will actually care about the forum , the rest are here just for the bounties and rewards and they don't really care what they do, spamming and shitting all over the place. Good suggestion, i hope more people will start caring.

1125  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / {Waring} Ledger exploit makes you spend Bitcoin instead of altcoins. on: August 06, 2020, 10:01:46 PM
I came across this news and decide to share it with you guys so people should be aware if their funds get locked by ledger and cannot be spent. You guys need to update the hardware wallet to fix it.
I do not own Ledger and I cannot 100% confirm the legitimacy of the source website but seems that the guy who found the vulnerability actually posted it on Twitter.

Quote
In brief
A vulnerability in Ledger's hardware wallets allows a request for an altcoin transaction to actually request the movement of Bitcoin.
The exploit was reportedly disclosed to Ledger back in 2019.
Ledger said it's because the firm wanted "to avoid a situation where user funds would be locked and users unable to spend their funds.”

Quote
An exploit in Ledger’s crypto hardware wallets could allow malicious actors to steal Bitcoin, according to a report published by Liquality developer Mohammed Nokhbeh on Tuesday.

The attack works by the bad actor creating a transaction that looks like an altcoin payment (a coin that isn’t Bitcoin) when it actually takes Bitcoin out of the wallet instead.

“An attacker can exploit this method to transfer Bitcoin while the user is under the impression that a transaction of another, less valuable altcoin (e.g. Litecoin, Testnet Bitcoins, Bitcoin Cash, etc.) is being executed,” wrote Nokhbeh.
This is worrying because the user thinks that they’re handing out 0.01 of an altcoin, which could be far less valuable than 0.01 Bitcoin, for instance.

"A new version of the Bitcoin app will be released today, with an update that will display a warning and prompt for confirmation when an unexpected path is used—therefore solving this issue," said a Ledger spokesperson (who later confirmed that the fix is now live).

1126  Other / Meta / Re: Is this considered a death threat? on: August 06, 2020, 09:50:59 PM
I don't understand really what is the issue here, if the guy is ban evading doesn't really matter if he is threatening you, he is going to get the same punishment, another perma ban, but if he is already ban evading I don't think this will stop it.
The forum cannot protect you against any physical threatening, the only tool the mods have is the Ban Hammer, that's all. If there will be any physical damage from the suspect then maybe the forum can provide info to the police for further investigation but again that's won't save you from the guy if he wants to harm you.
1127  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Alpen Coin - “Switzerland’s first ever physical bitcoin” on: August 06, 2020, 09:37:13 PM
Damn, I'm always too late for this kind of fun. How much is per 1 coin + delivery to Europe (Norway)? If you cannot pay in BTC, what currency they accept CHF only? Can I pay with PayPal? It's too late for me to buy from the website as they look like they are sold out (my french is a bit better than my sumerian) or out of stock.
They should be named "LoyceV's Coins"... c'mon, somebody should explain them why.

I was able to purchase the last few the other day. Still not sure on the # of mintage, but here are the current addresses....

If someone has a better way to share these I can edit this post.

how did you get the addresses? those are all the ones you bought?  or did you do it all via that look up tool on the site?

as for mintage he told me there would be 200 with the bright finish and 200 with a matte finish.

So there will be more coins coming soon, if I understand correctly, any rumors when they will have the website in English?
1128  Economy / Services / Re: LoyceV's Avatar for Rent [first 🦊YEAR🦊 (72 weeks) rented out] on: August 06, 2020, 09:13:43 PM
Adding more members would make that game so much fun. Asking for a friend.
Do you know how hard was in the beginning when suchmoon put it too? LoyceV was really easy to spot because that time the avatar was unique. I made a mistake myself, but I found out before I posted my replay, quoting  suchmoon instead of LoyceV was really confusing Cheesy, then oeleo came too amd joined the club and I gave up using only avatar as user identifier...
I think Foxpup succeeded with his mission, I haven't seen CH (or any of his alts) for a while Smiley

1132  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] BestChange Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: August 05, 2020, 12:57:15 AM
I like to see an improvement here. Pay per post is a good solution to fight the spam.
Any campaign putting a minimum posts requirement is pushing their participants towards the inevitable low quality posts, which is sad.
If you let people post as much as they want to and focus on the top 250 merit receivers then you will have a successful and positive exposure, eliminating the spam level almost to 0, which is good not only for the company's reputation but fot the forum as well.

I might join your campaign when I return if there's a free sopt of course. Good luck Smiley
1133  Economy / Reputation / Re: LFC_bitcoin sending PMs to his friends to oppose flag and bribing DT inclusion on: August 03, 2020, 11:20:51 AM
Damn, I'm on vacation now, i have no time to deeply read the whole thing, got a PM about some crazy accusations...
What actually sportsbet.io did so people had to "protect it"? From the quick read i did until now all i understood was that people wearing the sportsbet signatures are suppressing some flags against the gambling site, is thst all or there's more to read?

I wouldn't use my DT power for things that require deep resurch and has no cleaner evidence, until I return next week.
1134  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: August 03, 2020, 12:37:04 AM
The vertical mobile view has some issues showing the captcha and the text needs some re-arrangement.

It's not really an issue since everything is working in horizontal mode but it's a bit annoying. It's the same with Tor browser as well but i can't take a screen shot now Smiley

Maybe just add a note that the website is optimized for Landscape viewing Smiley
1135  Economy / Reputation / Re: [click-bait] Should I start escrowing accounts? on: August 02, 2020, 10:56:22 AM
Isn't it better instead of escrow account buys and sells to put a warning as theymos did with the trust warnings that buying accounts is highly dangerous and can lead to scam and traded accounts will get negative feedback.
How would you implement that, though? Any type of keyword flag would simply be bypassed with a basic circumvention (i.e. substitutes for the word 'account'). If you were to put it in the Auctions section, account sale threads only encompass a minority of the board, and the same can be said for the Invites & Accounts section.

Good idea in theory, but not sure about the execution.
Can be on the top of any section for certain amount of time or...
The news feed is not used, i asked before why we don't use such a powerful tool to warn people, it's visible and attract attention, put there all the warnings for the newbies until they have 7 days online time and there you go.

This should be shown to all newbies and not logged in users.

It's like the "don't jump off the cliff" warning, if you still do it then nobody can help you anyway...
1137  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Lower the Reporting Buffer Period on: August 01, 2020, 10:08:01 PM
I'm also in the same situation.
Clicking report and counting to 2 on every report.
Sometimes more than 50 posts/tabs (if you use the show all feature).
This can be unlocked for every user with 4 seconds waiting time and 300+ good reports (or 2000 for example as the first badge)
1138  Economy / Reputation / Re: [click-bait] Should I start escrowing accounts? on: August 01, 2020, 09:48:15 PM
I don't think there will be any success in this kind of escrow.
People buy accounts for mainly two reasons :
- to make money from campaigns
- to scam people
Both type of buyers won't be happy having their account "marked" as sold.
When you are cheating, you don't want the others to know what you do.
Of course, you can always try but I guess there will be only 1-2 confused buyers.
I admire your willingness to help the poor cheaters to avoid being scammed.

Cheers, {still in vacation mode}

I think BitCryptex is leading in the bad luck ranking @1008 activity ... I thought he will rank way before me but....
@BitCryptex i love your work man Smiley you are truly a legend Wink (the best guy to ask any Trezor or LN questions)
1140  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] Legendary Rank up Observer. on: July 29, 2020, 10:55:03 AM
Ofcourse not.
Closer and closer to the end 6 weeks max, 3 more resets.
Gz @Mole0815

Story of my life, never lucky in anything.

2 more reset max.

At the end it will taste much better than if you have ranked up at the first entry. I envy you a bit to still have that excitement Wink
