882  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Newbie:] most evil on the Bitcointalk forums. on: November 23, 2020, 02:57:05 PM
I'm just curious what you mean by the "most evil on the Bitcointalk forums"? Those are very common in the social media bounties. I've seen many doing that but most of the time they get caught and end up with nothing. It's easy to hunt them tho. I agree that those ass(o)s have to be tagged but are far less bad that those with the word/article spinner, those are the real f@ckers. Those are almost impossible to trance back to the original content even tho you know they have used those tools.
I'll give a hand in the tagging as soon as I have some free time.

Will be back at full power after the New Year Smiley

Cool way to make a raffle, thanks Wink
884  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [β] BPIP Extension: user info & extra features add-on/extension, Firefox/Chrome on: November 19, 2020, 07:05:04 PM
At any rate, Mozilla seems to be very intent to kill Firefox if you look at the latest Play Store reviews so I won't be putting too much effort into it. Once the dust settles and there is a clear path to make the extension work in the long run - maybe.
So full add on support for Android Firefox is in the pipeline. However, you can use any add on you like right now on Android with a bit of a workaround.

First of all, you need to download Firefox Nightly, which is essentially the alpha developer version.
Direct link: https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/channel/desktop/
Google Play link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.fenix

You then need to go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/collections/, click "Log in to view your collections", create an account, and then create a new collection with a unique name. Search for all the add ons you want to use, and add them to your collection, BPIP included. Make a note of the unique name you gave the collection, and the 8 digit number in the URL.

Open your Firefox Nightly app, go to settings, scroll to the bottom and select "About Firefox Nightly", and tap the Firefox logo five times until you get a pop up saying "Debug menu enabled".
Go back to settings, scroll down to "Advanced" and select "Custom Add-on Collection".
Enter the 8 digit number from above in the "Collection owner (User ID)" field, and the name you gave your collection in the "Collection Name" field, and hit OK.
The app will apply the changes and then shut down.
Relaunch the app, go to add ons, and you will see all the add ons from your collection listed. Tap the plus sign next to each one to install.

I can confirm that the BPIP extension works just fine using the above steps.

I want to confirm that this is working like a charm. Thank you very much for this wonderful workaround. It's amazing. Out of smerit for a long time now, I hope someone will send from me Wink stay safe all of you guys (and girls)!
885  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Question about sign message. on: November 18, 2020, 11:04:04 PM
Could you please let us know if the nested segwit address and the derived legacy address are both compressed or is either of them uncompressed
I am not a tech guy. So I both addresses wasn't compressed by me. I just signed a message and had trying to verify via Brainwallet. Then I discover the message isn't verifying from the same nested address that I signed in, rather than it was verified from a Legacy address that wasn't actually listed in my wallet. Perhaps there is a way how Brainwallet detects address.

I use Mycelium on the phone, most of the messages that are not possible to be verified with brainwalled (and all the variations of it) I manage to verify with mycelium, So if you need to do a quick check, i can suggest you try it. Not BIP49 unfortunately.
No need to use it as a wallet, I even didn't backup the private keys, I'm simply using it as tool to verify messages.

There was a tool before : https://kenkarlo.com/bitcoin/verify-signed-message where you could verify the BIP49 messages ( I have Trezor and it's a pain) but seems like it's down now Sad If anyone knows a working replacemet of it please let me know. Smiley
886  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [β] BPIP Extension: user info & extra features add-on/extension, Firefox/Chrome on: November 18, 2020, 12:28:12 AM
Firefox and derivatives, such as Tor Browser, including desktop and Android versions: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/bpip-extension/

Android version please! Smiley

I know most people don't use, but I do use this forum in my firefox android

I support that idea too as I'm mostly on the phone the last couple of months. It doens't matter for which borwser, the one that is the easiest to implement,  I'll go with any browser if this wokrs.
If you guys don't want to do it (i read suchmoon's comment somewhere about the possible mobile versions some months ago) it's OK. You already did a great job. Sending love anyway Smiley

Thought I'd share Alpen Coin's newly produced coin shared by Alpen Coin maker Frank.  I'm not sure when this is going to be on sale. I think Frank did an awesome job and not that I didn't love the first coin but I like this one even more so.  Also he did a great job with the hologram size and placement this time.

Nice ones but are those funded again? What kind of metal they used this time? They look a bit too shiny. I like the coin, maybe will get a chance to grab one or two this time Smiley

These coins will be funded with .001 BTC.  I'm not sure what metal was used I'll have to ask.  Personally I don't think they look too shiny, I think they look great.

@ EVERYONE ..be on the lookout for a FREE Raffle where you'll get the chance to win one of the new Alpen coins.  Compliments of Frank who wanted to thank this community for everything.

Looks like a nice coin tho, I would love to see some more pictures when you guys put hands on those ones Smiley
Looking forward to the raffle as well.

Got confirmation from Frank, I was right - the coins are brass.

They look great Frank! Some questions people are asking.

I think you posted they were brass - correct me if I am wrong.

2. Will they be funded as two prior releases were?

3. Estimated release date?

Great news Smiley

890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking for a tokens portfolio/monitoring tool. on: November 17, 2020, 11:44:10 AM
Thank you guys, I have at least some guidelines. I'll look through the APIs of the etherscan and ethplorer and the trust wallet option but seems like only for mobiles.
The excel table is the best soluton but I never played with APIs before, maybe now is the time, whish me luck Smiley
891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Looking for a tokens portfolio/monitoring tool. on: November 16, 2020, 11:08:25 PM
Simply said what I need is a tool with the following features.

I want to insert a few Eth addresses and have a list with all the tokens with current prices.
It is only for monitoring. I do not want to insert manually all the tokens, I just want to be automatically extracted from the Eth addresses.

I know, I'm lazy ( or the politically correct way to say it: I'm a busy man with not enough free time to add tones one by one.

I did forgot to check in mycelium, but I just tried it and got verified. The one is in question is using brainwallet, it still failed to me though.

In brainwallet try to use the QT version, paste the message without the extra new line. Then just add it yourself and it will work, but in the permalink will fail to verify, weird.
894  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: November 13, 2020, 08:23:11 AM
Quoted, but I'm having a hard time to verify your signed message using brainwallet and electrum. I guess using next line on your signed message is the cause of this?

I managed to verify it somehow with brainwallet  but the weird thing is that I cannot get the permalink to work.
Here's a screenshot of the verified message :

And here's the link: https://jhoenicke.github.io/brainwallet.github.io/#verify?vrAddr=13GAVJo8YaAuenj6keiEykwxWUZ7jMoSLt&vrMsg=Today%20is%20November%2012%2C%202020.%0AMy%20bitcointalk.org%20user%20name%20is%20odolvlobo.%0AThe%20purpose%20of%20this%20signed%20message%20is%20to%20provide%20a%20way%20to%20prove%0Athat%20I%20am%20the%20legitimate%20owner%20of%20this%20Bitcointalk%20user%20name.%0A&vrSig=H476mBZzDNVFhww1lsUn4eANHFiD%2Fm2SZ8VuQL2cHg0ic7Npyx%2F13HJ83%2B0YU3zUDXmxEPqM8SaXwIht8LmnSG0%3D

Also managed to verify it with mycelium :

895  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] BPIP Extension - user info add-on / extension for Firefox, Chrome, et al on: November 10, 2020, 01:25:38 PM
You can't add yourself (or distrust), just showing in the list after you click "update" because of the "extension" link refresh (this one > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust#bpipext-incexc) which is weird but I guess this is bug from the extension. Anyway if you click on trust settings you'll see that you are not in that list.
896  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] BPIP Extension - user info add-on / extension for Firefox, Chrome, et al on: November 10, 2020, 12:59:06 PM
I love the new extension, no issues what so ever.
What maybe is not needed is the option to add and remove from the trust list in your own profile page > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile.
I mean this one :

All is good Smiley
