161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 13 of 40 Rounds on: October 07, 2017, 03:42:22 AM
Hey guys, I have applied for the deeponion airdrop last week but my application was declined and no specific reason was mentioned. Can I apply for airdrop again? Also as slack is down how can I get to know the reason behind my declined application.

You can apply again but make sure you are complaint with the rules. If you get declined again you may be blacklisted and then you will have an uphill climb to being accepted. Make sure you have 10 quality (50 character +) posts in the last 7 days and you need to have joined bitcointalk before Sept 1.
Thanks for your reply. I have followed all rules. But how can u know the reason for why my application was Declined??

What he failed to articulate was that those are the absolute bear bones minimum rules. There are a lot of members trying to get into this drop so maybe doing the exact minimum isnt going to cut it.

If you show quality in your posting and post a few times in this ann and stay active with the project as well as active on official forums there is a good chance you will get accepted. Sadly most

people try to abuse the airdrop system and just post the least they can and try to collect the most they can. This isnt good for Deep Onion and this isnt good for bitcointalk. I hope that clarifies things

Nothing bothers me more than seeing people do the bare minimum.

You hit the nail on the head here riskthebiscuit - Unless you're an active person, someone willing to contribute, or someone who is eager to learn so that he can help others, this probably isn't for you. The whole community can probably attest to the fact that I'm a welcoming guy. I want this to be huge. If you read these posts, you'll see exactly what is needed from you to be accepted.

Nobody can spell it out for you. You need to figure out what is missing, then ask yourself if you're willing to do what is needed to get in.
I'm actually surprised how many people are having difficulties with clearing all the rules to join the airdrop. It's a fairly simple list that can't possibly take longer than 30 minutes to tick off if you don't count the time that you would spend on your weekly posts...
It sure feels like people don't even try to read the rules at all sometimes.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 12 of 40 Rounds on: October 05, 2017, 10:44:50 PM
Another Dumper, really sad to see him leaving, i really know the reason and @Freshb also knows Smiley Cheesy
He may come back, There's Faith Smiley But, as the community have said : His loss is our gain Cheesy

We really cannot prevent anyone from doing such thing.  Maybe they have their pesonal reason that required them to sell their shares.
The only thing we can do right now is continue in supporting the community and the onion. And one way of doing that is by holding our shares.

so thats 3 dumpers then the last 2 days
Nothing to worry about. People dumped Bitcoin and ETH dozens of times too at all stages over the years.

i'm not worried, i'm a holder. i just don't get why? and so close to the next airdrop too.
I could think of a few reasons. Perhaps an accident, or another urgent need for quick money. Perhaps giving in to FUD, or maybe they just want to jump on an ICO that seems like a better chance to them.

Crypto is a wild place that nobody can fully predict. So there'll be a lot of different strategies on how to act in this market.
Can't really tell them they're definitely wrong until the future becomes present and past.

I'm personally in the hodl camp since the worst case scenario of losing everything by hodling is nothing compared to the moon potential and I still can't see any reason for failure based on the amount of effort that the devs and community are putting in.

But I can't really judge anyone for dumping either. It's very easy to get emotional in this market, especially if the amount of money is "a lot" to some.

My portfolio regularly swings up and down by multiple years worth of full-time salary, so I can see how people would panic and become impulsive.

That's why I decide what I'm going to do before I even start playing, and then don't move away from my strategy whatsoever. If I lose I can always blame my past self and then use that experience for future actions. Most people don't do this though, and think purely in the present.

Either way, let's hope for the best for everyone, dumper or hodler alike. Maybe the dumpers will come back one day once we start mooning. And if not let's just hope that nothing seriously bad happened in their life that would cause them to dump.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: October 05, 2017, 10:30:02 PM
I've done my research and Deep Onion looks like a coin with a bright future. 10x for sure.

Yes, you have right. DeepOnion has a lot of potential to grow in the next months. The dev launched DeepVault and he is working in other feature called DeepSend. So we should wait some time and for sure we will see the onions growing 10x at least.
Nope! If it is doing well, it doesn’t particularly mean it is going to blow up all of a sudden. Many altcoins are seen this way when they are new or when the finally start making profits. It is highly unlikely for these kinds of events to occur, so you can buy a little amount of it to get a regular profit, but to put huge chunk of money in a business which is just expected to do good is bad idea.
I agree with this. Staggered and diversified buying is usually the way to go to to minimize risk without sacrificing profits.

165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: General speculation mid 2018 on: October 05, 2017, 04:13:07 PM
I expect bitcoin price will stay above 5k in 2018 and by the end it'll reach 10k. As for altcoins, I think we'll see them jump higher than current price, some of them might rise 10x. Keep in mind lot of altcoins like IOTA, QTUM and few others are very new compare to ETH, LTC etc so they have huge potential to rise by a lot in 2018 (given bitcoin rises as well). just my opinion.

As long as btc rise as predicted, there is nothing to worry about and we'll see nice movement. 100x is possible too. everything is possible in wild west.  Grin
Don't forget the market cap. It's not very likely for any coin to supercede Bitcoin anytime soon, so in the short and mid term Bitcoin puts a soft cap on all cryptos. There are surely going to be a few more x100s though, but good luck identifying them successfully.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: October 05, 2017, 03:49:10 PM
I need to quickly become a member so i can receive my airdrop....Still need to wait 6 weeks..Wished i registered sooner to bitcointalk...
Being a Junior Member is enough at this point as far as I am aware. Your registration date is the only factor that hinders you from registering anytime soon.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: General speculation mid 2018 on: October 05, 2017, 03:47:42 PM
So what do you guys think will happen to Bitcoin and altcoins in about a year?

I'm not asking which coin to invest, just how crypto generally will develop.
Early to mid 2017 was a huge rise, but that's probably not going to happen in 2018. I think we will see +50% at most on Bitcoin and most other coins. Some might go a lot higher, but I think a lot of us got spoiled with this years crypto rise.
I'm a holder of many altcoins so I hope I'm wrong and that we will see x10-x100 on most coins but  I doubt that will happen Grin
I'm not sure to what extent you are familiar with the exponential adoption of disruptive technologies. But despite the fact that we've seen some major increases in recent times, we're nowhere near the end yet.

Before crypto, these increases simply weren't something that people had access to. Exponential profits like these were largely reserved for venture capitalists. With the blockchain that is about to chain.

Of course, you have to keep in mind that the risk is extraordinarily high, so most people are expected to burn themselves at some point. But the opportunities for the mainstream have rarely been brighter.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH target 1000$ in ending of this year on: October 05, 2017, 02:21:59 PM
as people have stated, 1000$ is unrealistic. honestly i'm just hoping it could even reach 350 any time soon so i can dump my eth and move on to something more worth it, like bitcoin.
Why not stay in both to keep your portfolio more diversified? I'm somewhat skeptical about Ethereum myself, but I don't think it will die anytime soon. And some extra hedging is always desirable in such volatile markets.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If you had 1000$ to invest in Altcoins long term, which one would you choose? on: October 03, 2017, 11:15:16 PM
Deeponion.

And not only because I sponsor it.
It's the only altcoin truly based on Tor network.

1) they have a tremendous roadmap
2) Devs are sooo good
3) look up their whiteboard: it's not just another shitcoin
4) you can start mining without spending much energy
5) IT's COMPLETELY ANOUNYMOUS

Long term. Of course.
You'll be earing this in about months in top 100 rank's

" believe in one project, don't just speculate !"
As far as I'm aware, mining is only worth it if you have an ASIC nowadays, so your fourth point doesn't really hold for the vast majority of people.

On another note, SONM finally starting to climb, just as expected. Still has room up to $1.20 if it does a similar movement as Golem did. Since Golem has so far been inferior to SONM, it's not extremely unlikely to see a slightly higher price than $1.20 by late December or January/February of 2018.
The real pump should occur somewhere around August 2018 though, which is when they intend to go live.
In the next days or weeks the price could retract a bit, which would create a good buying opportunity for anyone who hasn't piled up during the 3-4 cent FUD phase.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: October 03, 2017, 11:08:44 PM
Deep Onion is great...Untraceable...On the TOR network...TOR is like the twin brother of bitcoin..untraceability to its core..well kinda...I think the devs need to update their website and maybe hire some marketing staff...They need to get the word out there..Then there's goling to be a BOOM..Also i like how the devs think of the product first and not concerned about profit...

That is a very important thing to remember -- the DeepOnion developers are essentially working for free right now. They won't ever make any serious money if they can't deliver on the promises they have made. Because only the development of the project will substantially increase the value of an Onion after the airdrop. Many of these promises they have already fulfilled.

Most coins nowadays (and essentially every scam coin) launches after an ICO. During that ICO the developers make millions (if not more). They make this money BEFORE developing ANYTHING a lot of the time. They make these millions of dollars based upon promises that are almost never even seriously considered. In fact, a lot of the time, these "developers" are entirely fictitious people.

Anyone who calls DO a scam is simply ignorant of the facts. I can tell you, the support staff and developers are real. They are actively working on the project. They are fulfilling promises & take their road map seriously. They also care more about their community than any other crypto project I have been involved with.

All the "nay sayers", will see soon enough, that DO is here to stay. DO is the real deal & I have high hopes for the future.

This has been my point all along since the beginning. They (devs) are putting in far too much effort to make it worth their time if all they plan to do is pulling out without any actual features.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: October 01, 2017, 10:36:25 PM
Has anyone here got involved with the airdrop?
A lot of people are involved with the airdrop.
Your signature is off by the way, you need to put your BCT profile ID as the referral ID (1146512).
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion Price Speculation on: September 30, 2017, 08:40:23 PM
One deeponion is accepted to a more popular exchange, it will certainly jump past the 3$ mark. The coin has some very attractive properties and tries to look for stable users (users that invest in longer term), so while the increase may not be exceptionally explosive, it does guarantee continued commitment from the investors, therefore pushing the developers and making sure the product has quality.
Whether or not DO rises exponentially depends on the time scale that you're looking at. Features and more volume are all that's needed for this to happen. With both DO should follow a similar path as other successful anon-cryptos did in the past.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: New Waves roadmap on: September 30, 2017, 08:23:36 PM
Waves will only rise when they stop manipulating the prices. Every time it goes above 5 bucks the price gets pushed back down again. I guess there are many whales here doing price control
That's generally not how markets work. Waves price isn't going beyond $5 because nothing of substance has been added to the platform. That's why the price is moving sideways currently.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 12 of 40 Rounds on: September 30, 2017, 01:30:36 PM
Just came home to an unexpectedly large Airdrop!

Quote
You say if I move 10% of my airdrop coins from my Airdrop address to some other address, the rest 90% of coins will be automatically moved from Airdrop address to some unknown address and I will need to manually send them back?
This didn't directly apply to me, since I have no intention of moving coins around anytime soon. But there was a guide about a "coin control feature" that you should read through if you intend to sell your weekly 10% or anything like that. I'm not sure what exactly that is for, but I could imagine that by not keeping coins in a given address once moved could increase anonymity. In either case, I recommend you read the guide and contact xsinx about it.
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 11 of 40 Rounds on: September 29, 2017, 11:12:19 AM
Cant't wait to become Member to join the Campaign!
As far as I understood there are 40 Airdrop Cycles (each one week) and we are currently at the 11th Cycle?
so I will get the Memeber in Rank in around 5 weeks so I sould be able to join in at 17th Round, am I right?

You only need to be Junior Member with the new rules.

Oh, really? that would be awesome!
However, when I click on apply on https://deeponion.org/community/apply.php it says:
Your current member position is not eligible for using our signatures. Keep up and increase your level to at least Member so you can add our signatures to participate and apply again.

Is it just not updated yet?
Would be really cool if I could start soon! Smiley
Your current user level is "Newbie", so you need to wait a bit longer until you hit Junior Member to be able to apply (assuming you registered on or before Sept. 1st)

Ok, thanks, I am currently trying to figure out how the ranking system work...
Your activity updates once every 14 days. It updates on the same day for everyone on BCT. You can get 1 activity point per day by making one post. You could also make all 14 posts on the same day for a given 14-day period, but you can only get a total 14 activity per 14 days.

I think it might be possible to only make 4 posts during one 14 day period and then do 28 posts in the next 14-day period to get the full 28 activity for both periods, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Activity levels are listed in the meta forums, I believe it was 40 for Junior, 70 for Member, 120 for Full member, 240 for Senior and then 500 something for Hero. Legendary was a random thing from 700 or 800 activity onward. Check the meta section for accurate numbers.

The last update was 1 or 2 days ago and since you're at 28 activity you could get up to 42 activity in about 12 days, which would make you a Junior Member and thus capable of joining the DO airdrop (if you registered before September 1st).

URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT: Airdrop 11 will be delayed

I quote Deeper from the official forum:

"Dev, who runs the airdrop, had an urgent issue, cannot operate the airdrop. We will have 1 or 2 days delay at the airdrop schedule. Everything is working fine. We counted posts and will review participants as usual and then release the airdrop. We have also amazing news about our latest innovation DeepVault, being ready in a few weeks. Details will be announced later. Stay tuned."

Hope all's good with the dev and nothing bad happened. Don't really care about the delay personally, not moving coins around anyways.
178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are there any real good Airdrops currently or in near future? on: September 28, 2017, 10:36:23 PM
Deep onion was a good one at first but it looks like they are having a power trip for now and blacklisting people for no legitimate reason or explanation
I got blacklisted and got back in. At this point I'm still not sure what exactly happened, but my best guess would be "burst posting", since I actually do post a lot in short intervals when I'm actually browsing the forum sometimes. In either case, I had no trouble getting reinstated for the airdrop.
I wouldn't call being very careful and selective a power trip either, even though I personally lean to slightly more lax rules. Ultimately both approaches have both up- and downsides though, and it's obviously up to the devs to make the choice for their project.

Did you get blacklisted yourself or something, if you don't mind me asking?
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Qtum is rising, possible Bithumb listing on: September 28, 2017, 10:33:28 PM
QTUM is going to be on a massive rise.
I am still waiting for a correction to happen before October 05 after which they will swap from ERC20 to Ignition tokens and then it will BOOM  Grin
Do I have to know anything for this? Or will I automatically have the Ignition tokens if I'm holding QTUM on an exchange?
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH target 1000$ in ending of this year on: September 28, 2017, 10:28:05 PM
The real value of a coin is what that coin can do. If Ethereum starts to release their products 1000$ is not so big number. But there is a psychological boundary called Bitcoin.
Ethereum with a 1000$ price for one coin will surpass the Bitcoin in total value and is that is very possible.

What products though? I don't think I've read about anything groundbreaking coming from Ethereum in the near future. The last big news that I recall was the EEA, which just as well could be merely researching the potentials of the Ethereum blockchain while completely ignoring Ethereum itself.
