41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: December 09, 2017, 05:35:20 PM
this is really a lengthy thread, but really helpful in a way. I don't take sides but atleast we have the pros and cons of the story. I believe this coin has a potential, it is indeed evidenced by the rise in price and wider public acceptance. While it is acceptable that the devs might be the first to be rich, because they are the ones who've made much of the effort and we should be thankful for them for bringing in this wonderful opportunity, its alright because many has been benefited; and there needs to be huge spending requirement ahead for major development of the coin which is part of the whole plan. After all the coin is free except for the effort you spend if you're going to invest them in here (gamble), don't have to spend so much than what we can afford to lose or atleast be prepared enough to lose atleast we're warned here aready if it is indeed a scam. But Just like bitcoin, when many haters would throw scam accusations, but what happened? It continued to soar high.
The price mostly climbed because DO has very low volume and BTC pumped massively. That caused the price in terms of USD to increase by a lot, which triggered FOMO. The low volume and FOMO combined made it very easy to pump the BTC price. That's all that has happened.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: December 09, 2017, 05:33:55 PM
I was following this coin for very long time. Yeah it suggests good things but airdrops make people invest lot less money. They ask "why would I pay for something free". This is biggest concern for Deeponion.
Yeah that's when I left the airdrop. I was fine with marketing the signature campaign as an airdrop. But changing it to where you have to invest money to get anything in return has nothing to do with an airdrop anymore and simply reeks of another ponzi. At least they are working very hard on making it successful I guess, but with those marketing skills they could've achieved much greater things than just another ponzi/pyramid/hype coin.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UK threatens to shut down BitConnect on: December 09, 2017, 05:31:26 PM
I don't really know why most people still trust Ponzi schemes even after been a victim to it.
They're basically just gamblers and hope that they will manage to exit with profits the next time around. But people that are so greedy will probably not manage to control themselves and stay in for too long.

But even then, I don't get why they would support ponzis instead of supporting real projects with their money.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: December 05, 2017, 05:44:44 PM
How much deeponions are you getting paid for holding deeponions?  You need to have it in the deeponion wallet right?  So for every 1000 deeponions you have, how much you get?

From what I calculated - around 5-6% every week on all coins over 100.

Any idea why is this jump today? Onion is now over 20 000 satoshi.
Looks like a pump and dump to me, since there's nothing new right now and the fundamentals have changed for the worse with the new rules.

December is almost over and as far as I'm aware there still aren't any news about DeepSend either. DO benefited greatly from low volume and a pump in Bitcoin's price... don't think it's sustainable with the new rules and no features.
The speculative post about DeepSend that I've seen on the DO forums was pretty much just a tumbler too, which we already know is traceable (hence Bitcoin tumblers disappearing).

All the optimism that I've had about DO originally has disappeared, which is why I quit the campaign. Still hodling the coins just in case my gut feeling is wrong, but with the ridiculously aggressive marketing and increase in centralization due to the new rules it's looking more and more like a pyramid scheme.

Keep in mind that it's extremely easy to wash trade for the devs and mods due to the tiny volume and don't get caught up in hype if you choose to buy Onions.

What do you mean with "increase in centralization due to the new rules "? I read that they are trying to implement votecentral or something like this.
Or it's because everybody is blindly following their moderator?

Yesterday a bright person dumped 60K coins and crushing price from 20 000 satoshi to under 13 000 satoshi. Now it's again around 18 000.
With the new rules you get Onions based on how many you hold. So you need to spend at least 26k USD on Onions to get roughly as many Onions as you would have with the old rules.

And let's face it, nobody is going to do that.

As a result, old holders and especially those with x2/x5 rates and devs will end up holding the vast majority of Onions in existence.

And buying coins when more than half the supply is controlled by barely a dozen people is not a smart move whatsoever.

46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UK threatens to shut down BitConnect on: December 03, 2017, 10:05:18 PM
Bitconnect must be stopped before it vanishes with hundreds of millions of innocent people. I know there are some people are that maliciously join the ponzi scheme and recruit others so they can earn more, but there are a lot of gullible people that fall for a scam of this nature without any guilt.

The government should step up and arrest the responsibles for this before it gets ugly.
They're not innocent, they're greedy and not being smart about it. Sure, BitConnect should be arrested. But people who throw money at obvious scams shouldn't get their money back either for supporting it. Everybody who participates in this scam is just as responsible as the creators of BitConnect.
47  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will crash to 7-8K ? on: December 03, 2017, 10:02:55 PM
When btc is very volatile as for these days, i tend to daytrade and buy low and sell higher with a bit of profit each time.

But whenever it goes lower I buy and not selling because want to sell at even higher prices later. I don't believe in day trading because most of the time people lose money.
That's because most people just start "day trading" without knowing how to. If they studied TA and indicators for at least a few weeks (better months) before trading, they wouldn't die like flies in the market.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best ICO for December on: December 03, 2017, 10:01:08 PM
Let invest in Spectre. There is no doubt that it is a good tokens to buy in December. You wont be regret when choosing it
Do you know if Spectre has any intention of adding stocks to its tradeable assets? The ones they are going to launch with aren't very interesting to me. Looks like it might potentially be worth investing in though (didn't finish DD yet so don't know for sure).
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to invest in cryptocurrencies? on: December 03, 2017, 09:58:26 PM
To be fair, whats the downside of the OP taking out a loan and not being able to pay it off  - bankrupcty?

Its not the end of the world. Thousands of people go bankrupt every month. It ruins your ability to get credit etc for a few years, but its hardly the end of the world.

Depending on the loan you take you won't even go bankrupt. And younger folks have all the time in the world to pay off loans even if things go south. It all depends on the individual situation and strategy, but loans can be great tools.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Altcoins really have a future? on: December 03, 2017, 09:18:37 PM
%99 of altcoins are used to make money, no real life use. Only a few of them have real value. That's why when Bitcoin falls all altcoins fall together (and opposite happens). In 10 years we won't see %99 of these altcoins in the market.
99% of them are garbage indeed, but I don't think that they will just disappear simply because there's no centralized entity that will take the coin into its grave once it disappears.

Also, in 10 years we'll see much more altcoins that produce real value and that will be largely independent of Bitcoin's movements.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UK threatens to shut down BitConnect on: December 03, 2017, 09:16:26 PM
Looks like the ponzi scheme is getting exposed and coming to an end shortly. UK Registrar of Companies has threatened to shut down BitConnect and dissolve its operation. BitConnect has two months to prove “cause to the contrary” until the decision has been formally enforced. Should the company fail to comply with these terms, the government agency will strike off its registration and seize its assets.

BitConnect was registered by a British man going by the name of Ken Fitzsimmons, he holds 75 percent or more of the shares in the company.

For those of you that are still participating in BitConnect you should get out now while you still can.
So, why has it still not been shut down my dear FUD spreader? The truth is that we tend to label whatever we dont understand a scam this day. That is the practice and this is ignorance at its peak. Was bitcoin not labelled a scam in its wake? Even now some still think and insist that Bitcoin is a scam. I have seen many coins labelled scam but have proven not to be with time. Only time can unveil this.

I hope that those of you that are still participating in BitConnect get out while you still can, in 2 month max Bitconnect will be shut down and lot of people will lose money.
Stay away of this scam, it's the same thing like Onecoin a obvious scam !
Onecoin was never a cryptocurrency. It was purely a Paper Company whose owners wanted to fraudulently raise money for by deceiving the public through the crypto label since it was the in-thing as at then.
Because it can't effectively be shut down and/or because regulation and legal measures take a long time.

The truth is, BitConnect is a ponzi scheme and if you insist otherwise you either don't understand BitConnect, or you understand it and try to deceive people so you can profit off of them.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH target 1000$ in ending of this year on: December 03, 2017, 09:14:35 PM
It could. Realizing that ETH is second to bitcoin. It could go the same path just like bitcoin. And maybe much  it could go higher that bitcoin. We cant just cant turn the book close. Many stories will be told.
There's far less hype around ETH than around Bitcoin, at least when it comes to the mainstream media. So I don't see Ethereum overtaking Bitcoin at any point. Not to mention that Bitcoin has a massive headstart.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin $15000 on: December 03, 2017, 09:09:44 PM
It is likely to achieve that price in future but not possible to get there in this year as its too high to expect in short time and price is moving higher now but we may see some dump in coming days as people are likely to start selling their coins if it hits $12k price in next few days.
We have almost an entire month left before the year ends and we've already cracked $13k on some exchanges twice now, so $15k could very easily happen before the year ends. Futures will start trading soon and NASDAQ announced futures for the next year as well. Even JP Morgan is getting into Bitcoin now, so there really isn't anything that should stop the bullrun anytime soon.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin $15000 on: November 29, 2017, 12:43:48 PM
we are waiting 15000$ above by ending of the this 2017,

in my opininion bitcoin will hit $15000, but not in this years
in my predictions is Q1 2018 bitcoin will reach that price

Yeah, I agree. $15000 by this year seems abit impossible unless the price keeps climbing without any retracement, or CME listing make a jump climb.
We didn't go back after reaching $10k, $11k and even $12k, so $15k doesn't even seem like a milestone anymore at this point. Did the futures even go live yet? Last I checked they were coming in December.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what will happen in Dec ? on: November 29, 2017, 12:42:15 PM

It is very risky to put all your eggs on alts. Maybe on alts that have upcoming events or updates on their platforms. I recommend you to stay half of your money into bitcoin as this unexpected rapid rise continues maybe until December especially that there are more hard forks coming up.

Altcoin is riskier market compare bitcoin so do not hold all of your bitcoin into altcoin. But if you still dare enough to invest on altcoin, you can try ETH,BCH,BTG,and upcoming BDC for unexpected profit as far as my trading experience
Why are you recommending all of the Bitcoin forks? I wouldn't buy any of them if I didn't get some free coins from the fork itself... And BCash I wouldn't even touch with a stick.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to invest in cryptocurrencies? on: November 29, 2017, 12:40:22 PM
Rule number 1 : only invest to the extend of what you can cope to loose.

Taking loans jeopardize that rule.
That's not generally true. Loans can be a great way to increase your liquidity. Whether or not a loan would end up a potential issue with "that rule" depends on the skills of the individual in question.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taking a loan to invest in cryptocurrencies? on: November 29, 2017, 11:51:06 AM
I am considering taking a loan to buy btc and eth, is it a good idea? Because btc and eth always go up in long term. They never die. There seems to be a great chance of getting huge profit instead of losing money. A few years ago somebody in this forum asked others the same question and everyone told him not to do that, look at the price now. If that guy did, he would have been rich now. Nowadays the situation is not different, the price will continue to go up. I think people who invest more will earn more profit eventually. What do you think?
Nobody knows this for sure and things could turn ugly very quickly.

If you want to take up a loan to invest with, that's fine. People have been doing that for as long as money has existed and using loans to invest is just one of the many forms that arbitrage trades can take.

If you choose to go this way make sure that even if you lose everything you will be fine.

Always prepare for the absolute worst when trading with leverage.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoin $15000 on: November 29, 2017, 11:46:59 AM
I sold at 8000 and am regretting every penny
hope it drops back around that range eventually so I can buy back in!
Doesn't seem very likely considering that it didn't retract at all after cracking $10,000 and even $11,000. Who knows if there'll even be any reversal at all or if we're actually entering a new market. At this rate alts will have to start pumping regardless of what BTC does.
59  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will crash to 7-8K ? on: November 26, 2017, 08:54:41 PM
Yeah. Be patient and wait for a correction and buy if you believe in the coin. There could be bad news tomorrow about someone being hacked or an exchange going under. When this happens, the coin will be in play. Buy then and then trade for profits.
At this point I don't think a hack or an exchange failing could really impact Bitcoin's price anymore. Even the China ban was shrugged off pretty much instantly.
60  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will crash to 7-8K ? on: November 26, 2017, 08:39:31 PM
On Bittrex Bitcoin will drop after reaching $ 9500 and will drop to 8100-8300 no more ...

Why do you think that?
Probably just reading out the order book. Not a very reliable method of predicting prices though, so I wouldn't give it too much thought...
