361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: STOP TRADING-START INVESTING on: August 13, 2017, 02:29:38 PM
Both trading and investing are risky however if you are not profitable in trading why not try long term and just leave the coins you traded with, not unless if you really really need the money and you have to withdraw them weekly or monthly. Investing is also the same thing but much riskier especially if you have invested in some fake coins then chances are zero or something.
Trading, at least short-term, is vastly more difficult than investing (for humans). Short-term movements are essentially unpredictable for the vast majority of people. Investing on the other hand, takes quite some effort with regard to due diligence, but that's something that simply requires some time spent researching. The most difficult aspect of investing is balancing a portfolio, which needs a way to at least qualitatively asses risk.

Either way, I would add AiCoin to the list. Poised to be a very stable and successful coin that avoids almost all of the risks of short-term trading, while reaping its profits regardless, while at the same time being in a position for massive gains due to investments in ICOs and other Machine Learning or Blockchain related start-ups.
362  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where would society be without the internet? on: August 13, 2017, 02:01:49 PM
Your guess?

I think the society would be back to normal. People would laugh more and friendlier compared to what they are today. Internet killed people's social ability. People became lazy and unsociable. They spend less time talking with their family and friends because of the internet. Most of the people would spend their time on the internet chatting and nosing around other people's lives.
It's always easy to blame a medium for people's lack of motivation or attitude. But in reality, it's the people, not the internet. Not too long ago people said the same bullshit about books. Today everyone goes on about how the internet is ruining everything and nobody reads books anymore.

Do people really not realize that it's literally always the same story just with new toys and words?

A few decades from now people will start the same nonsense over fully-immersive virtual reality, and then they'll start nagging over the same nonsense in a virtual game world they've created without even realizing it.

Humans... the smartest species on earth......
363  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Save the planet or not on: August 13, 2017, 01:57:56 PM
The undeniable truth is that we continue to do great damage to the planet and we haven’t learnt how to grow our economy without harming nature. In the past 50 years, truly a blink of an eye compared to the more than 2 million years of our species’ history, we have seen an exponential acceleration of the unsustainable and wasteful use of natural resources. If we continue to produce, consume and power our lives the way we do right now, forests, oceans and weather systems could be overwhelmed and irreversibly damaged.
We're not doing any damage to the planet. We're damaging ourselves. Do you really think the planet gives a shit about what humans do to themselves? Earth has had multiple ice ages already and we're supposedly heading towards another one. Nothing new happening here. It's all a question about how hard we want to try to survive as a species despite a potentially ever-changing environment.
Right now we're too busy being a bunch of idiots with smartphones with another bunch of idiots playing war and politics. The planet won't care if we keep sleeping, we'll just disappear. Simple as that.
364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Win using martingale system? on: August 13, 2017, 01:55:03 PM
If you have a sufficient bankroll of 50 bets and the site allows you to bet such huge amounts, then your martingale system should work because the maximum I heard is 48 times in a row.

Hence, if you have enough to bet more times like the maximum in a row ever happened, then you will win. But most sites limit the maximum bet amount to avoid successful martingale systems.
There is no maximum whatsoever. If you flip a coin, it's very well possible that you will never roll heads in your life. The probability is abysmally small, but it's not zero.
365  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: August 13, 2017, 01:52:34 PM
You are so right! The government sucks at everything, see these two cases in the last month illustrating massive government waste of taxpayer money.

(2 million dollar park bathroom) http://pix11.com/2017/07/06/tiny-2-million-dollar-public-bathroom-opens-in-brooklyn-park/

(Man built park stairs for $550 after $65,000 government quote) http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/07/20/canadian-man-builds-park-stairs-for-550-even-though-city-said-project-would-cost-65g.html

These are just small pocket-change when compared to the trillions being spent on invading various third world nations. For example, the invasion of Iraq cost the American tax payers close to $2 trillion (till now).

Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security spends vastly more than the Iraq war each year.
As already mentioned, healthcare is a strict necessity that can not go. Furthermore, the spending on health care are only so atrociously high because pharma and insurance companies make up arbitrarily high prices that do not even remotely reflect their costs. It's an outright scam that nobody cares to do anything about, all while voting for some redundant party or presidential candidate that won't do jackshit about any of the underlying core issues.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deep Onion Deep Opinion on: August 13, 2017, 01:10:04 PM
Their trust page speaks by itself
No it doesn't, not at all. The trust was left by "trusted members" who didn't even care enough to really dig into what has happened. The first negative trust was left entirely unfounded simply due to a bunch of people nagging entirely unfounded point.
The remaining two insist that the dev asked/demanded users to leave him positive trust, which is not true either. The users left the trust as a result of a "trusted member" misusing his trusted status, if not even deliberately abusing it.
The project is doing exactly what it announced it would be doing so far and there's no serious indication of anything scammy going on, which can not be said about the vast majority of ICOs which do not even have a timeline for a prototype of a working product.
367  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is taxation theft? on: August 07, 2017, 08:04:28 PM
I consider the taxation of theft, because in our country all residents pay taxes, but the state does nothing to improve life, but rather puts very tough conditions for survival and many leave the country.

This is true.
I live in Germany and as soon as I finish university I am leaving this country since I refuse to pay 40-60% of my income to the government. They completely waste the majority of the money too, it's quite a pathetic sight and I won't be supporting this nonsense.

I do believe that taxation is theft, but I would be fine with it if the money went to sensible uses and/or if citizens had a direct word on how their money gets used.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does my portfolio looks good? on: August 07, 2017, 07:58:13 PM
What do you think about BCC?
There are far better options in my opinion. BCC may keep tracing BTC in a similar way as ETC traces ETH, but that's not guaranteed and it could very well die out entirely. On the other hand, there are a lot of great projects that have great prospects and far less of a chance to simply fizz out and disappear than BCC does.

tl;dr Sure, BCC may rise, but other coins will rise more with less risks of dying. If you own BCC you can keep them since they were free, that way you won't lose anything. But I wouldn't buy any right now.
369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you use analysis when play gambling? on: August 07, 2017, 07:01:30 PM
That will depend on the game, in games that are completely luck based then I’m not going to make any kind of analysis but when it comes to games that also require skill like sports betting I will take the time to think about the situation and see how can I improve my odds of wining.

When you want to win money then you do need some extra effort. That is why people do alot of thing such as analysis and many other because they hope they can win more. I was like that as well until I decided to play for fun but in the end Im not really a fan of a game that has no instant result
I'm pretty much the opposite. Instant results usually end up in me getting bored quite quickly. I prefer games that require skill and practice/effort, and most of those that do do not offer instant results.
370  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I Go To College ??? on: August 07, 2017, 04:32:17 PM
Hi everyone,

What advice would you give a HS senior in US about to decide on and/or enter college ?

You should probably go to college, just don't overpay (: only go instate, ignore private schools unless offered scholarships, and take federal aid. Drop out the moment you're offered a solid job, the fancy paper itself isn't really worth anything (unless you need to do Masters/Phd).

A masters degree may be useful later in the life, although I don't agree wasting 5-6 years of your life in trying to get a PhD degree (unless you are really crazy about scientific research).
There are a few fields where a PhD is mandatory to score a job. There are also jobs where a PhD is definitely worth it from a financial perspective, as it increases the starting salaries dramatically.
371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you play 10% for 3 round or 30% for 1 round? on: August 07, 2017, 04:28:23 PM
With $30 I can make many bets on sport, but if I need to choose from your example then I would chose 3 bets each 10$ worth. I think like that I
will have more chances to make some good profit, and with less risk. Just one bet without money for making new after that one is all-in, and I do
not like all-ins especially. I would choose the same with other gambling games, I mentioned sports cause that is my favorite.
Sports are different from "classic" gambling that is pure chance. If you are very well informed about the sport that you are placing your bets with, you can actually end up making money by outplaying the other betters. In that case it's always best to spread out the bets over more games.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Altcoin to buy NOW ??? on: August 07, 2017, 04:22:00 PM
Which altcoin best to buy ? where bitcoin already pumping up !
The best coin to buy is currently are only two .
First coin is bcc coin ( bitcoin cash) , because the price of this coin is at very low and and also there will be big devlopment for this coin soon because team.of the bitcoin current busy in in the segwit lock processing , so after the complete of the process of the bitcoin maintenance , the team will launch the official wallet and then its price will pump to a very high limit .
Secomd coin is ETH coin , as everyone knows that how much the ETH coin is better but currently the price is at half in comparison of the maximum price of this coin , so more better to buy this coin at 0.075btc/ETH .

I wouldn't put a lot of money into BCC. That's a massive gamble that could burn your entire stash (of BCC).
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Potential x50-x100 coins let's discuss which one we think on: August 07, 2017, 04:17:02 PM
just ark a x50 or x100 in 1-2 years
I agree with this one, Ark is solid and bound to rise some more this year alone. There's cheaper options around though and I wouldn't spend too much on Ark right now and spread my buy orders out a bit to check out a dip if I wasn't already invested since sub 20 cents.

NEO --> ALL IN
NEO is already very high.

AiCoin and SNM seem the safest bets at this point. AiCoin will perform well regardless of the market situation and SNM is massively undervalued.

NEO could go much much higher in near future. News comming in next few days aswell.

Coins u mention are not on the biggest Exchanges like Trex and Polo...
Everyone is already aware of the news about NEO and they're most likely already priced in.

And whether or not a coin is listed on the biggest exchanges right now is irrelevant since x50-100 doesn't happen within a week. SNM will hit exchanges by the end of the year as per roadmap and AiCoin is still in ICO and will be listed as soon as the service commences. It's up to you if you want to ask relevant questions or start doing research or throw around pointless remarks that have nothing to do with anything.
People keep burning themselves all the time by buying hyped coins late and gambling on a spiked going spiking even higher is foolish, but good luck with that; you will need it.

375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Altcoin to buy NOW ??? on: August 07, 2017, 03:52:36 PM
Buy AiCoin. It might not pump into x100-1000 like some other coins, but it will be a fairly safe and steady gain nonetheless. It's still in ICO and their product is already up and running and created 130% return in around half a year while dodging the crash. I'd put 60-80% of my stash into a mix of AiCoin, BTC and ETH for sure and split the rest up with promising altcoins like SNM, which is currently at rock bottom.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 10 Alt Coins (Crypto Times ep 18) on: August 07, 2017, 03:04:40 PM
I'm really surprised that nobody is talking about AiCoin. Are people just unaware of how ML/TF works or what's the deal?
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Guess its time to stop investing crypto and go for work on: August 07, 2017, 02:53:35 PM
This bear market, if it's a bear market, won't last long in my opinion. It's a growing market and we will rise again in the long term.
Btw only good project with real usage will survive and those recently overhyped may hurt a lot.

Yep, and that's where a lot of people will get burned. Pretty sure that only a miniscule amount of projects will even survive the next 2-3 years.

I like how everybody keeps repeating this "only a few projects will survive" without providing any reasoning as to why. Wrong. Most of these projects will survive. At best, what will happen is a huge correction for the "overhyped" projects. But they will not die. This market is way too small right now at $100b market cap and the game has just began.

"only a miniscule amount of projects will even survive" is false. These coins are no longer "cryptocurrencies" but more like "equities", similar to a stock market.
There's hundreds if not thousands of coins. Of course a lot will be dying out over time. There are a lot of inexperienced people jumping in with half arsed ideas an no plans on how to properly implement and scale them after all.
That doesn't mean that there won't be many projects left though. There are almost certainly going to be a few dozens of large projects that will be here to stay.
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best altcoin to buy on bittrex right now, hurry!! on: August 07, 2017, 02:48:49 PM
Elastic (XEL)

Potential of x5 to x10 From a price of 19.000 Sat right now.

I saw x10 more than x5 for a price of 200.000 Sat at end september 2017.

i make all my home work.

The biggest gain on bittrex from now untill end september is this.

Prediction accuracy? 100%
100%? Good joke...

XEL already rose quite considerably, so the remaining gains are going to be rather low. SNM has a much higher chance of reaching those gains considering it's at dead bottom right now, unlike XEL and GNT which have already spiked well beyond reason.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES will get 50-100X in a short term. Yes It is possible becasue... on: August 07, 2017, 02:46:44 PM
I think right now there are so many projects with so many use cases. There has to be a market cleansing and only the strongest will survive this!

Market Caps After 1 year:

1) BTC
2) ETH
3) Waves
4) Others...

Correct : Market Caps After 1 year:

1) BTC
2) ETH
3) XRP
4) Others but not Waves in this list...  Grin

XRP is a semi centralized coin and there will be 100Billion XRP. Waves only will be 100 Million. Cheesy
Quantity of a coin is irrelevant. The price will simply be higher or lower correspondingly. In either case, Waves are far more user friendly than ETH with similar applications... Going to be hard to drive ETH out since it came first and has a lot of attention around it, but in its current state it's not impossible for it to be overtaken eventually.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with altcoins on: August 07, 2017, 01:20:47 PM
I don't gamble much so my vote went for that. But I do gamble and I enjoy doing it with bitcoin. The only reason I see why to gamble with altcoins is when they give you them for free.
gambling with altcoin is i think not so, different than that of bitcoin. both are digital currency and works same but it really depends upon the will of the user or interest of the user that in which he is interested in. i think altcoin in gambling will also become interesting if they pay good price money and it also depends upon worth of them.

Altcoins may be attractive to gamble with because of the faster transactions/lower transaction fees. But imo it is still gambling and it doesn't matter what is the price of an alt you are gambling with. What matters is whether you win or lose, and that depends on your luck at any given moment of time.
Fees also shouldn't bother anyone who is going to gamble. If you are not lucky that money is already lost so 1$ up or down won't make any difference. And bitcoin transactions are very fast lately with very low fees, unless bitcoin price jumps over $50K in that case gambling will become "entertainment for the rich". But that is far future.
If Bitcoin prices jump over $50k fees will have to adapt as well. If not, people will just gamble with altcoins instead. And there's always the option of just gambling with fiat.
