51% of hashing power is also 51% of the total energy. Energy is something valuable in our world, and will continue to be for as long as we can foreseen.
It is very plausible that the secure of the network is based on that.
51% of people doesnīt make much sense, as you canīt be sure if people are real, like achow101 said.
As I read somewhere in this forum, democracy is vulnerable to 51% attack. People can be bought and manipulated.

Still stuck on 187, while my account was supposedly parsed multiple times in the past 2 days.
I am also updating the merit parsing, so for the next few days the merit numbers will not be updated.
He just said that merit number will not be updated in the next few days. Just be patient.

Nobody owns bitcoin or the market. However the market is easily manipulated in bitcoin, due to lack of regulations.
Whales, exchanges.... they are manipulating. Donīt you remember Bcash drama in 2017, when bitcoin price was heavily manipulated?

Well, unless youve committed plagiarism or alike on the forum, which is likely to bite you in the ass further down the road when you least expect it. The switching may serve though to mitigate the type of ban you receive, and if you have turned to being a consistent net positive for the forum overtime, then the penalty may be non-permanent (rather exceptional though).
Even if you committed something as plagiarism, it is always possible to go back and delete your old plagiarized and spammy posts (unless if you were caught already)

Maybe he has not this understanding and it has to come here for clarity. I do agree with this "bet with high odds of winning" do results to this type of analysis. If you want the opposite then you have to reduce your odd of winning but I will said it is better to remain in profit than has your capital lose out.
The problem with betting with like 95% chance of winning is that you will win like 0,1% (donīt know exactly but it is low), and if you lose you lose 100% of what is waged. At dice games at least...

Take note those Android distribution usually have bug/problem such as : 1. Camera service often crashed or you can't even use camera 2. Can't turn on Wi-Fi 3. Few application can't run properly 4. Can't use FM radio There are few solution such as restart the services or apply different firmware, but it doesn't always works.
Those bugs are terrible, just gave up installing lol Maybe installing a different camera application? Don't forget F-Droid application marketplace/repository if you seriously have privacy. But there aren't many choice of application and game almost not exist, especially because most game depends on Google Play Store or Google Play Games. I thought that the choice applications could be more restrict. However, you can always install any APK file and install any application, canīt you? Canīt you install some store like APKpure? APK pure is a very interesting store which lets you install basically any app, even if Google doensīt wants you to use that app with an older android version (sometimes).

Higher number of wins compared to losses doesnīt mean you will have profit. Thatīs because if you bet with high odds of winning the profit will be very small... on the other hand, you lose too much if you lose.
You can that in your example.

i'm super paranoid about this stuff. i have my 2FA tokens backed up on multiple phones + secret keys written down. recovering an account without the 2FA token can be a nightmare from what i hear!
I am super paranoid also. This is why I use authy, as it can be recovered. But as I am paranoid and I have some funds on binance, i will just back up my keys there now lol good idea

i am not really a big fan of transferring bitcoin like this in a physical form or basically anything that is not on-chain and fully decentralized and also ways that just gives others money which they may dump and go away not looking back ever again, which is why i have never attempted anything like this. but i admit that although this may not be the best way but the benefits of it are a lot because it is still introducing people to bitcoin in a way that it may even be more palpable for them (physical paper).
I see no problem in bitcoin in a physical form like this. She can at anytime transfer those bitcoins to a more secure wallet, like any mobile wallet for example, just scanning the qr code. A paper wallet is a nice way to gift bitcoin to people.

Android OS already completely open-source & there are even some privacy-focused Android distribution (such as LineageOS, Replicant and Copperhead).
This is good to know. I didnīt know those privacy focused androids. I will update the OP with them and probably install one of them. My old phone is not updating to the newest android, so I might try those. Unfortunately, as you said, you need to root your phone.... Thanks

According to bitcoin wiki, Coinkite and Coinb.in also have master public keys. Certain types of deterministic wallet (BIP0032, Armory, Coinkite and Coinb.in ) additionally allow for the complete separation of private and public key creation for greater security and convenience. In this model a server can be set up to only know the Master Public Key of a particular deterministic wallet. This allows the server to create as many public keys as is necessary for receiving funds, but a compromise of the MPK will not allow an attacker to spend from the wallet. They can alternatively be used in Electrum and Armory to enable completely offline storage and spending, where an offline computer knows the private key and an online one knows only the MPK. Transactions spending coins are ferried between the two computers via USB storage which avoids exposing the offline computer to a network-based attack. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Deterministic_wallet

I think that building a forum reputation is easy if you are a respectable person in real life. Just be yourself here.
Are you a spammer in real life? Do you say nonsense everywhere you go?
If most of people just act like a real person, reading and comment what you read when it makes sense to do so, people would get more merits and have a better reputation here.

There is no way to transfer your 2FA codes to the new phone. The only way to do that is to log in to your accounts using the old phone and register a new 2FA code in the new phone. Because of that, I suggest that you use Authy, which is an app that let you store your codes in the cloud. I know it is not as safe against hacks as Google Authenticator, but Google Auth. is so secure that even you may lose access to your accounts by using it. For more information, i made this post some time ago: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3178131.msg32900782#msg32900782

for randomness, the best is to let computers do the job. Humans are a bad in generating random numbers.

If you are 100% sure the seed is correct it is just a bug in your wallet software. just import your seed into any other wallet, such as Electrum, Coinomi, or even your ledger.
You can also use some tool such as iancoleman.io/bip39. Just download the webpage, run it offline and write your seed there. The page will generate your private keys for each of your addresses and you can just paste those private keys in any other wallet or just scan the QR codes.

An investment in bitcoin on feb 7 had virtually no risk. That was a day to go deep in.
There is no investment that has no risk. It is easy to say that looking at the past. Ofc it was a good money to buy in, as the price was low, but nobody knew it couldnīt go even further below. I hope you do not tell your clients bitcoin is risk zero.

Centralized exchanges will always be needed when trading FIAT x Crypto.
Atomic swaps is amazing, but you cannot atomic swap USD, and USDT is not USD.

I don't use any cloud services. USB hard drives are so cheap now, and there are SD cards as well.
Recently, someone entered into my house and stole my notebook and my external harddrive... it was very sad, i lost some things but not much , as I had almost everything backed up in cloud services. I believe non sensitve information such as pictures, documents, etc should always be backed up in cloud AND drives. Sensitive information such as private keys should be backed up in piece of paper, offline.

I wouldn't worry about this. This is just one of the mixers that appeared out of nowhere in the last few months. It was probably just a test from the owner (not a serious attempt, like ChipMixer, BitBlender, etc...); and when he saw he couldn't get enough (or any) traffic, he closed out. Maybe it has some link with the BestMixer shutdown, but I doubt it.
I agree. It doesnīt look like to be closed by authorities, as it was a very small mixer (never even heard of them). The most famous and biggest mixers out there are still operating (thankfully)
