9561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Records achieved in the crypto world on: August 30, 2019, 09:16:09 AM

Their main problem (caused by themselves) is to require KYC even for small withdrawals of BAT. Almost nobody who cares for privacy will do KYC for 5$/month. Originally, I was planning to use Brave Browser but I've stepped back from it. Very sad.  Cry

I am using it for a few specific things for some weeks already. It is a beautiful browser, looks nice. But my balance is still 0 BAT.

About KYC, it is sad, as they are the "Privacy browser". But the only real privacy browser is firefox.
9562  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Chainalysis research reveals: only a small percentage of mixed coins are illegal on: August 29, 2019, 09:46:55 PM
I believe that if the mixer is able to track down stolen funds, it should refuse to mix. Criminal activities should not be encouraged by the blockchain technology, which were not made for criminals, but for regular people.

And no one would use such mixers, imagine what would happen if their system made a mistake or they use such excuse to selectively scamming their users.

And if blockchain technology could stop criminal activity, that means it could be used for censorship tools which defeat the purpose of using blockchain technology (at least on cryptocurrency usage).

There is some truth in this. Probably nobody would use it... Because they could make a mistake.

But blockchain technology can stop criminal activity, because blockchain is open and public. Blockchain tech was never made for criminals, as far as I understand this tech.
9563  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the connection between Seed and Private Key? on: August 29, 2019, 05:34:02 PM
The seed is everything you need to tell the software to generate all the privatekeys of your wallet.

All your privatekeys are mathematically related
9564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Digital Currency can Activate Someone's Financial Freedom? on: August 29, 2019, 10:56:07 AM
This is delusional.
You won't achieve financial freedom by trading mining or buying and holding. Unless if you already have  a LOT of money and you are willing to risk all that money in those risky activities.

Bitcoin won't increase its price by 10.000% again. Ok, it may happen, but are you willing to take the risky?

Let's suppose you need 1 million dollars to achieve your financial freedom.

So if you invest 100k USD in btc (10 BTC), and if the price goes to 100.000 USD per BTC, you have achieved your goal.

But do you have all that money? Are you willing to do all in strategy? It isn't worth, because the price may go down as well

9565  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Records achieved in the crypto world on: August 29, 2019, 12:39:29 AM
All those money collected from ICOs and most of those ICO coins and tokens do what? Almost nothing? Eugh. Imagine if those money was allocated for Bitcoin development instead. In this case at least BAT has a decent product(even though they could've used BTC through LN instead).

BAT is an amazing project, however it still has its flaws. I don`t think they should be using BTC, it is ok with BAT. the problem is that Brave Browser is not that widely used. I prefer firefox. Maybe they should be using an Addon on any browser? Because it is very hard to compete with firefox/chrome. I can use Firefox and Ublock origin, which gives me a better experience than Brave.

7) The fastest transaction speed - NANO. The asset has a transaction speed where a deposit is made and therefore, a block is confirmed in a mere 3 seconds

This is wrong, there's no thing such as "a block is confirmed in a mere 3 seconds" because NANO don't use blockchain, but uses DAG which have different structure.

And all cryptocurrency could achieve similar speed since relay transaction to whole network is pretty fast, although it's very risks to accept 0-conf.

It is not that risk to accept a 0-conf. It depends on the costs. For a cup of coffee for example, a 0 conf is fine.

Additionally, Nano is fast. But no one accepts it! lol
9566  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Chainalysis research reveals: only a small percentage of mixed coins are illegal on: August 29, 2019, 12:25:55 AM
Finally, it's a good sign to have an official confirmation that mixers are indeed widely used for privacy reasons to anonymize Bitcoins and only a small fraction is used for illegal purposes. So, the arguments against Bitcoin mixing seem not as valid as often claimed that mixing is mainly used for criminal activities...

The problem is that darknet + stolen funds are 11%, which is still very high. Stolen funds being mixed is terrible...

I believe that if the mixer is able to track down stolen funds, it should refuse to mix. Criminal activities should not be encouraged by the blockchain technology, which were not made for criminals, but for regular people.
9567  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 0 sat/byte fee ? on: August 28, 2019, 11:36:16 PM
If this was real or possible then the whole Bitcoin mining industry would collapse.
Why would you want to do this anyway and change the status quo?

It wouldn't collapse. Miners are still the ones who choose which transactions get to be included in the block they mine. First Bitcoin transactions were basically free of charge because of no block limit and empty blocks.

Additionally, miners are not rewarded just by transaction fees. There is sti the incentive of 12.5 BTC per block.
Also, if even so 12.5 is not profitable, professional miners can just leave until the hashrate drops and mining becomes profitable  again.

So dont worry about miners, they are fine.
9568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Skin in the game as a cause of value of Bitcoin on: August 28, 2019, 11:33:10 PM
I like this expression, skin in the game
It is widely used in traditional investments.

Any investment advice only makes sense if the "advisor " is invested in it. This is what skin the game is.

Bitcoin is not an exception. There are some venture funds where the managers are "all in" in their funds, and the customers (millionaires) demand it to keep their money in those funds.
9569  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How safe is Electrum wallet? on: August 28, 2019, 11:26:42 PM
Tools -> View Addresses -> Right-click an address -> Private Key; done. You have it.
And to obtain private keys of all the address, one need to follow this:

Wallet -> Private keys -> Export
You will be seeing all private keys. You can copy them or export them.

I think that you shouldn't do this at all. It is a great feature, no doubt , but you are compromising your safety when you see your privatekeys in your computer.

You should note down your seed in a piece of paper and forget about those Private keys forever.
The seed should be used only when you need to recover your funds because you can't access your wallet anymore (lost device for example)

Additionally, electrum is safe as long as you always download/update it from electrum.org website, there is no other.
9570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Original BTC White paper from Satoshi Nakamoto on: August 28, 2019, 11:55:31 AM
@DdmrDdmr : thx for your answer. One cool guy on twitter sent me a copy of this ecash.pdf. Unfortunatly, this document isn't the exact copy of the original mailed to Hal Finney. I can read in the metadata the file was created in 2017 (probably a copy/past).  Undecided

This ecash.pdf file is amazing, I didn't know it.

Sadly I can confirm that it was made in 2017, just like you said. So it is not the original, and we have no proof that it was a copy past or some modifications were made.

I will try to search more about it. Very interesting.

Suggestion: move this topic to development and technical discussion. It is where you will find more knowledge members who can contribute better to this discussion, which is quite relevant.
9571  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 0 sat/byte fee ? on: August 28, 2019, 11:28:32 AM
Are you going to pay zero fees?

Read this "Free transaction relay policy".

Historic rules for free transactions
A transaction was safe to send without fees if these conditions were met:

It is smaller than 1,000 bytes.
All outputs are 0.01 BTC or larger.
Its priority is large enough (see above)

1 sat byte is the minimum fee possible for now.

As far as I know, since 2016, no free transactions are allowed anymore. Even in your quoted text it says "was safe to send" . And those as historic rules, rules which doesn't apply anymore
9572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Often Do you Bet on Politics? on: August 28, 2019, 10:46:01 AM
I have never in my life placed a bet on politics. I wanted to bet on Hilary Clinton to win the elections vs Trump a few years ago and we all know how that turned out so it is a good thing that I didn't. For those who like politics and have inside knowledge it can be a good opportunity to make a nice bonus.
You are so lucky that you didn’t, I have someone that lost his money on that election. It was crazy. We all called Trump a clown and a business man that is not fit to be the president of but then the end result was amazing and today he is doing so well as the president.

I think that buying index funds is somehow betting on politics.

For example, when trump won sp500 just went to the moon. Probably Hillary would have crashed sp500, at least in the first months.
9573  Economy / Services / Re: Teaching how Bitcoin works to my dad on: August 28, 2019, 09:44:31 AM

Internet has evolved in a way that we have so much good content like this for free... You probably learned all you talked about in your paid video for free.
We have toons of amazing videos and books for free.

I understand you need to cover your costs, but maybe a YouTube channel can pay your costs if too many people watch it.

“Facebook’s entry into crypto will facilitate blockchain’s bright future.”

The saddest thing is that this "article" is about comments on a discussion hosted elsewhere...

And this is a "bold" statement? Actually seems to be another Libra fanboy comment (there were several identical ones on this very forum). But no, i don't think Libra is that relevant, but the discussion it brought to some spaces is good.

I think Libra will somehow popularize blockchain name and label. It will bring more people to Bitcoin also. And that's all good it can do for the ecosystem.

Libra is centralized, it will rush regulations (as a big company is calling attention). It doesn't share bitcoin's fundamentals (open, decentralized, etc)
9575  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam accusation against user humanrightsfoundation on: August 27, 2019, 01:10:10 PM
You can still answer me now and provide some proof that this address belongs to that organization and not to you only.
Still didn't answer

We deleted your comment because we have the right to do so.
We have the right to tag suspicious users also. And deleting posts without reasons is suspicious

We explained above that we use donations for development. You can keep raging about scam but that help absolutely nothing. We will continue to exist for a very long time and intelligent Bitcoin users will donate to us and contacting us for information in a proper and respectful way.

Thank you for your attention.
We hope that our flag will let those intelligent users read your posts and ours before deciding to donate to you or not.
9576  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam accusation against user humanrightsfoundation on: August 27, 2019, 12:49:08 PM
Innocent users, when falsely accused, tend to answer the questions they have been asked. They don't delete those questions and lock their thread.

You comment is only deleted because it is linked to hrf.org which copied our donation page, created a derivative work, published the infringing material and scamming people since March of 2019 to make them believe they donating Bitcoin to us!

So now explain to me why was my comment deleted.
You said the proof that you are not a scammer is that you have a blockchain.com tag. I proved you wrong, because that's no proof of anything. Wrong and a lier. And you deleted my post.

You can still answer me now and provide some proof that this address belongs to that organization and not to you only.
9577  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam accusation against user humanrightsfoundation on: August 27, 2019, 11:09:14 AM
Flag supported.

This was my deleted post

Blockchain. Tagged addresses.

This is no proof of anything. Anyone can request your address to be tagged in blockchain.com explorer. And it is tagged only there. In any other block explorer you willhaveno tag.

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tags
What Are Address Tags?

Address tags enable you to label your public bitcoin address with a short name and external link. Anytime the address is shown on blockchain.info the name and link will be shown.

To tag your address with any name you want, you just need to sign a message proving that you own the private key.
I think you are trying to fool us, as you know this tag means nothing. Maybe your account should be tagged here as well .

The only way to prove that this address belongs to human rights foundation is pasting it in heir website.

Edit: I see this is a self moderate topic. Leaving a feedback in your account just be sur (as you can delete my post), as this really looks like a scam

Flag 666?  Grin

The feedback option is used for abusive SPAM because we have deleted some comments from our self moderated topic. All 3 person immediately started orchestrating scam, scam but in reality we are a legitimate Swiss human rights organization. We are not open for retarded people's opinions. Do some research.

It doesn't matter if your organization is based on Switzerland or whatever. You have to prove that the donations are not for you, but for the human rights foundation. And you failed to do so, and deleted the posts that proved you wrong. Scammer
9578  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade commodities, stocks and indices directly against Bitcoin on: August 27, 2019, 09:12:08 AM
Hello,

I'd like to know if as a BTC enthusiast, you'd like to trade those types of financial products with BTC pairs like GOLD/BTC, NIKKEI/BTC and so on.

If I ask you this, it's because I've developed a trading platform with this possibility, however I don't know if there is a real demand...

I think the biggest problem will be legal, the trading platform doesn't look like to be the real issue .

You  will also need high volume against all pairs, which is unlikely to happen (unless if you own a coinbase binance or something like that).
Probably BTC/GLD (Gold ETF)  and some other indexes funds will have a high demand.
9579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to create your own cryptocurrency? on: August 27, 2019, 08:31:46 AM
I was reading an article about how to create our own cryptocurrency. I felt this article would help many crypto enthusiasts who are looking to create their own crptocurrency.

Why the hell a crypto enthusiast would want to create his own cryptocurrency?
Have you ever thought that you need your own currency for anything?

I consider myself a crypto enthusiast and I never wanted to create my cryptocurrency.

I see that too many people are trying to get rich quick here..
9580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Original BTC White paper from Satoshi Nakamoto on: August 27, 2019, 08:16:28 AM
According to bitcoin.org, the original whitepaper is the English one. You can check it here:

There are many translated versions, this Chinese one will work.
