9841  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: BTC is missing from Blockchain.info wallet on: July 16, 2019, 10:57:13 AM
The BTC has now been moved out of 16MgFBd4ay7Yz5bw2HEpvTzCFQwqRmFK73 .
I guess they are gone forever.

Yes, they are gone.you were hacked. Your system is compromised .

I would format all computers/smartphone that you ever used to access your wallet.

Where did you store the seed? Was it in a paper? Or in a Google draft, drive, cloud storage?

Blockchain.info wallet is not very safe, as there are many ways a hacker could get access to it.
Maybe even the e email that you used to create the wallet is compromised. Change its password and add 2fa to it.
9842  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unrecovered treasure lost on: July 16, 2019, 10:22:29 AM
This was old times...
Nowadays everyone has your wallet backed up by the mnemonic phrase, (24 words), which is a seed with all privatekeys.

You can save it on a paper, no need to save the wallet.dat anymore (unless you want to)
9843  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Noob alarm!!! How to install now electrum??? on: July 16, 2019, 10:20:09 AM
Go to https://electrum.org
Download the version you like (I prefer standalone, doesn't even need to install, just run).
9844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will there be physical casinos operating with cryptos in the future? on: July 15, 2019, 06:30:59 PM
No difference at all to the purpose of why people go in a physical casino.

The only advantage here is, people, if run out of funds in fiat can use their crypto directly without a need of converting it to fiat.

I don't see why it should be considered as one of the future plans by the casino owners. Maybe someday, who knows.

There are differences, and some people may be interested in a physical bitcoin casino.

For example, I live in Brazil and my local currency is BRL. If I go to Las Vegas, I have to convert my BRL to USD, which is a very cost operation (usually I lost 2-7%, depending os the conversion method).
If I could just play with BTC, I wouldn't lose this 2-7%. I could spend more money in the casino, would not pay all those useless bank fees and taxes.

It would be good for customers and for the casino.
9845  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which exchange from the list have the lowest bitcoin withdrawal fee? on: July 15, 2019, 06:27:47 PM
One thing that I do when I need to use multiple exchanges (especially last year when there were multiple forks to be claimed) is to withdrawal XRP. Usually XRP withdrawal fee is very low, like 0,25 XRP.

Then I consolidate XRP from various exchanges in just one, convert XRP to BTC,  and then make one BTC withdrawal.
9846  Economy / Reputation / Re: Freewallet.org Flag - Please Support on: July 15, 2019, 03:38:50 PM
. It took support a few days to solve my case. So you’d better do not worry and just give the devs some time to figure it all out.

Devs? Figure out?
You don't understand what is going on here lol

Freewallet deliberately is locking funds until the customer goes through kyc procedure. There is no issue to be solved, just a shady behavior
9847  Economy / Reputation / Re: Freewallet.org Flag - Please Support on: July 15, 2019, 12:55:15 PM
I agree with LoyceV, it is not a wallet.

As I pointed out in the scam accusation thread, there is a lack of transparency.
They should ask for the KYC BEFORE receiving the funds, not when they ask to withdrawal.

I think the flag is appropriate (especially with that high amount of money), even if you return the funds back to users. I don't know the perfect word for that in English, but in POrtuguese we call this attitude "bad faith" (don't know if this expression exists in English). Freewallet  is not acting like an honest business, because this situation could be easily avoided and it is very unpleasent for customers, and very confortable for freewallet.

They hold the funds and make whatever demand they wish to pay the money back.

Freewallet,
The problem for me is the lack of transparency.

When the user deposited 190.000 usdt, there was no warning. He wasn't warned that "you will need to do kyc to withdrawal that amount"
If you were a transparent service, you would refuse to receive such amount until he does kyc, not refuse to withdrawal.
It's easy, just make a pop up asking how much the user wants to transfer before showing the public address to receive.

It is very comfortable for you to comply with all regulations while you are holding someone else's money, isn't it? Why didn't you said that upfront?

And no, writing that in the guidelines or whatever is not being transparent

It's very crazy to hold such amount in a wallet that you do not have the privatekey.

I hope that one day some law or regulation or whatever makes those kind of wallets illegal. All wallets should give privatekeys to users.

Anyway, flag supported
9850  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: revealing e-mail might be dangerous on: July 15, 2019, 10:39:36 AM
You should also create an email just for bounties and airdrops and those stuff.  An email that you never read anything lol

Many people use their personal email for that. And this is really too much exposure.
9851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever looked at how much you have wagered with a hanging mouth? :P on: July 15, 2019, 10:20:14 AM
I know it's easy to reach that wager since wager counts all bets even on 99% chance wins so if someone with 1 BTC wagers 20 times on 99% win chance and win all, they will wager 20 BTC!

But still to think I have wagered that much amount leaves me with a open mouth sometimes. Overall I'm in loss tho xD

Using 99% chance of win is a terrible strategy imo.
Because if you lose, you lose all. And if you win you get almost nothing .

Anyway, I believe that unless you are very lucky, every strategy is going to lead you to a loss someday
9852  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to send Tokens from your Ethereum wallet to the exchange on: July 15, 2019, 10:17:12 AM
Your text is a bit confused....

About gas limit, it is better to let the wallet calculate it automatically, and it will not affect fees.

If gas limit is set too low, your transaction will be rejected. If it is set too high, you will be refunded.

What controls the fee is the gas price, not the gas limit. You should always use safe low gas price (unless you are desperate). You can see it at ethgasstation.info

9853  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 - fast and fair dice game - BTC LTC ETH DOGE on: July 14, 2019, 05:11:16 PM
Sometimes I play on yolodice. I noticed that yolodice supports some different cryptocurrencies, BTC ltc eth and doge.
I was thinking, why not xrp support? Xrp transactions are cheap and fast. Is it an upcoming feature? Are there other sites that support xrp to gamble?
It would also be nice to be able to exchange btc-xrp in yolodice plataform, as it already support somes exchange pairs
9854  Other / Meta / Re: Users that you should merit on: July 14, 2019, 01:43:24 AM
Shouldn't this be in reputation?

I think that this definition "spam boards "  is bit harsh. I try to avoid some boards such as altcoin discussion by posting altcoin discussion topics in beginners and help for example, but I can't do that always. Even in spammy boards we can sometimes find good posts (like altcoin discussion and economics)

Certainly there are more quality boards such as those mentioned (technical support etc)
9855  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Phishing Revisited on: July 13, 2019, 01:15:57 PM
You can just bookmark the forum on your browser  so you can revisit it anytime without falling to the phishing site.

This doesn`t solve my problem, because I don't use google searches to look for a bookmarked website. I use google search to look for an specific topic or information that I don't have.

You can modify your host file add the site to it and in that way block your computer from accessing it.

Read about that here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5134015.0

Or just use the site:bitcointalk.org method to display results only from bitcointalk.org

This is somehow a nice turn around, but still not a solution (because I use it in different computers, mobile, etc). But I did the procedure, thanks.
9856  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Hardware wallets still aren't secure, and they never will be. Use paper wallets on: July 13, 2019, 01:04:41 PM
This Chris guy is crazy.

1 - he bashes HW because they are "expensive" and we all wasted 90 usd in security. However he spent much more to secure his "airgapped" computer. A machine with a keyboard, monitor, cpu, hd, etc etc, which are far more expensive than 90 usd. We are all idiots to spend 90usd in an "unsafe" device which is trusted by whole cryptocommunity for years, while he is a genious to spend 300-400 usd in a machine he build by himself which is supposedly safer, but nobody but him ever tested or inspected to look for vulnerabilities.

2 - He says that HW are unsafe because someone can find your device and hack your private key, and a paper wallet would be safer because there is no device to be found. But yes, there is a big machine with a monitor, keyboard, etc, which could be physically hacked when found as well. And even a crazy guy like him would have the private keys backed up in a paper (which he would have typed by hand and prayed to be corrected). Can't get how this is safer.

3 - Ignore all spending issues such as change addresses, inconveniences of using each private key once, risks involved when doing all this hard work etc...

Are you using that live USD in an online computer and inserting it again in your airgapped? I hope you are not doing that....

I'm not arguing they can not be a good option for people like yourself who understand the inherent risks and have taken steps to prevent them, but they are not a good option for the majority of users.

Yes. Maybe some crazy people who has nothing to do and like to take risks and like to play with those technical stuff it may be a good option. But for everyone else it is not.
Unless if you are a very advanced user, professional, developer or whatever... And I consider most of the users in this topic very advanced, and nobody is defending paper wallet against hw.

Also, I would recommend not putting all your funds in your paper wallet. You could make a mistake some day, as there are far too complex procedures for simple tasks such as spending, or consolidating, etc
9857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Strange hight amount BTC UNCONFIRMED TRANSACCIONs with low fees in one adres??. on: July 12, 2019, 10:06:57 PM
If btc.com recommends 0.0003btc/kvb on the transaction fee it's equal to 30 satoshi/vbyte. I also use different estimators but I mostly like btc.com (because it's for segwit transactions) and the stat page by johoe.

Thanks
30 sat/byte is still absurd. No need to use a fee like this.
btc.com is overestimating fees... I think all of them overestimate fees..

https://bitcoinfees.net/ says that 9 sat/byte will confirm in less than one hour.
9858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Strange hight amount BTC UNCONFIRMED TRANSACCIONs with low fees in one adres??. on: July 12, 2019, 07:43:46 PM
If it's just a consolidation. I wait for the weekend and can usually get a 1 or 2 sat fee.

Even when network is congested, you can send a transaction with 1-2sat fee. Even if it takes 1-2days to get confirmed, but as it is just a consolidation, you have no hurry. Your btc will not vanish.

I think most people are afraid that an unconfirmed transaction is like a limbo, and your money is lost or whatever... But in fact the btc is in your wallet, so there is no problem.

I *personally* like the Current best transaction fees info at the bottom right of the btc.com page. I find it fairly accurate. If I for whatever reason need it to be in the next block, I use that number (perhaps +1 or 2 % to be sure)

I tried to take a look at those fees, but I really didn't understand. Now they are recommending 0.00003 BTC/kVB. Wtf is that? Is it 3000 sat/byte? If so, that´s very crazy.

Coming from BTC.com, a Bcash fan, I think they will always try to overestimate fees. usually I take a look at 3-4 fees estimators and reduce 25% of the smallest fee suggested.
9859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Strange hight amount BTC UNCONFIRMED TRANSACCIONs with low fees in one adres??. on: July 12, 2019, 04:16:35 PM
You can see there are many inputs in this transaction.
It may be only for consolidation (having too many inputs will increase transaction cost). In this case as it is a transaction inside his own wallet he has no hurry and can wait even one two days for the confirmation (which will happen even at 1sat/byte)
9860  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Mail List - I need suggestions on: July 12, 2019, 03:48:38 PM
I'd honestly recommend creating a blog w/ noteworthly articles. Whether you write them yourself, or have a reputable writer write them for you, it's a good way to make use of a mailing list.

I agree.

You could send a preview by e-mail, and if the user is interested he would click the link and visit your website/blog.
