9301  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to save few bucks while withdrawing from exchanges on: October 12, 2019, 11:24:04 AM
I think the best thing for low volume currency exchange is to use a coin swap service, such as Changelly, Easyrabbit, Coinswap, instaswap, etc (there are many out there).
Those services are KYC free (most of them) and there is no withdrawal fee.

This way you can withdrawal ETH or XRP (usually i have better rates using XRP) from exchanges and then use Changelly, for example, to exchange it back to BTC. sometimes it is better to do this than to withdrawal btc from exchanges.

9302  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: [Guia] Como utilizar o sistema de Trust (confiança) do fórum corretamente on: October 12, 2019, 11:16:56 AM
Acabei de criar a minha lista - vamos ver se elegemos alguns DT1 na aba local.  Cheesy

Aqui você pode ver a lista completa de DT1 e DT2 do forum. Feita pelo LoyceV.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5139250.msg52732354#msg52732354

No DT2 da aba local temos eu e o TryNinja. No DT1 não temos ninguem, que eu saiba.
9303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system on: October 12, 2019, 12:03:57 AM

Hello LoyceV.

I was careful reading your guide, as I am translating it.

Take a look here:

Positive (shown as +1)
  • If you believe someone can be trusted, even when you didn't trade with him, that too deserves positive feedback.

Negative (shown as -1)
  • If you really hate someone and he's a terrible troll, that does not deserve negative feedback.

I know this is like a common practice here in bitcointalk, I know you are not inventing this. But I disagree with those points. Aren't they contradictory?

If you think someone is "cool", so yeah, give him a nice feedback, so everyone think he is trusted and he has a green +1 on his account. If you think someone is a troll, don't paint him red.

Shouldn't both situations have the same approuch?

IMO, both feedbacks, in those cases, should be NEUTRAL.

"Nice guy" or "I hate this troll", as neutral.
There are so many "nice guy" feedbacks with positives trusts here, as there are many "troller' with red feedbacks
9304  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live - Cannot fully customize fees for Eth and ERC-20 tokens on: October 11, 2019, 10:07:23 PM
The minimum is determined by their server and not necessarily 3 Gwei. I just opened Ledger Live and the "slow" option (minimum) shows 2 Gwei. If you need more flexibility, use MEW or any other third-party client like you were already doing until they decide to let you choose whatever amount you want (if they decide).

I thought they would have an "advanced mode" feature, but I can't see anything like this.

That's sad, that there is no customizable fee.
I sent with 1gwei and my transaction was confirmed in the next block.

Maybe those wallet services are also miners and want to increase fees? I can't understand such limitations
9305  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Im looking for wallet safe and Popular on: October 11, 2019, 04:19:48 PM
Thnx, but what is that usdt.... Runned on tron Network?  That Before I receive or send thether I need to know wich Network it run??  Other wise i will lose funds??  Undecided

You don't need to use usdt on Tron Network.
It can be on Bitcoin or ethereum network, I think you can choose when you are withdrawaling
9306  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Minha visão sobre segwit on: October 11, 2019, 02:50:15 PM

9307  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Im looking for wallet safe and Popular on: October 11, 2019, 01:45:38 PM
Im looking for safe and secured popular wallet to hold my stable coins like usdc usdt pax.

Any good one?  And private wallet to hold my stable coins! ?

Buy a hardware wallet at ledger.com or Trezor.io

Those are the safest and most popular choices for newbies.

You won`t regret, small investment and you will be in peace, knowing that no one can hack your coins.
9308  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Ledger Live - Cannot fully customize fees for Eth and ERC-20 tokens on: October 11, 2019, 01:40:25 PM
I was going to use my ledger live today. First time I was going to make a transaction without using third party software (like MEW or Mycrypto).

But I couldn't. The minimum Gas Price ledger live allowed me to use was 3 Gwei.

I checked https://ethgasstation.info/ and the standard gas price was 1Gwei. So I just logged into MyCrypto.com and made the transfer as I always did.

How come ledger company build this new Ledger Live software, and just decided that the minimum gas price should be 3 Gwei? Or not fully customizable? Just can`t understand some choices...

Beautiful interface, but not so good to use.
9309  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't become Bounty Hunter! on: October 11, 2019, 01:15:55 PM

I just think that is the wrong approach to come to the forum and only do bounty campaigns. After some time many actually realize that they have earned almost nothing, and that they are still a newbie with 0 merits.
I totally agree.

When I discovered this forum the merit system was already implemented, and I realized that merits and a good account were the most valuable thing I could get here.

I tried to join some bounties, but I realized that participating in bounties would damage my reputation (all those proof of authentitcatiion posts), so I didn't participate any (1 or two only, which I earned a few bucks, but much more from sig campaigns).
9310  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is there anyway to use Ledger Nano S without updating? on: October 10, 2019, 10:45:31 PM
I have to admit that even though I have seed backup, I wouldn't want something like this to happen to me. I can only imagine when something like this happens to someone who is not quite aware of how things work.

I did a nice thin that made me feel better about reset

When I first created my wallet I noted down the seed. Then I checked the public address.
Then I rested the device and restored with the seed. Same address. Then I was sure I could survive a reset
9311  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Sent BCH to Electrum wallet. Lost in Transition... on: October 09, 2019, 11:54:52 PM
Is there any way I can recover the BCH Value?

Do as Tryninja said.

Save your Seed (backup phrase) that was generated in Electrum. This is how you are going to recover it in Electrum Cash.
9312  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Is there anyway to use Ledger Nano S without updating? on: October 09, 2019, 11:52:57 PM
He doesn't have the 24 word pass phrase so I don't want to update the firmware which will reset the device.
How do people end up in this situation? Huh Without that backup seed mnemonic, users are sitting on a ticking time bomb... one small accident and all their funds are gone. Undecided Shocked

My Ledger Nano S suddenly reseted once. I didn't even try to put my PIN, and it just reseted when I touched the device while plugged in.
That's scary.

On to trying to solve your situation without updating the firmware: you can try MEW: https://www.myetherwallet.com

You can also try Mycrypto.com
Both myetherwallet and Mycrypto.com are supported by ledger.

9313  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't become Bounty Hunter! on: October 09, 2019, 10:02:03 PM
I partially agree with Lucius. However, there are some bounties in the bounties session which may be worth.

That digital gold bounty looks interesting (i took a brief look at it and I liked it), as some other projects already on exchanges. Bounty hunters should be vigilant and know which project to choose.

There are some which pay in Eth, others with tokens that are already in exchanges.

THere isn't room for everyone in good BTC payment campaigns (sadly many spammers are still in long term good payment campaigns), but there are quite a few opportunities in the bounty session.
9314  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet not opening after update on: October 09, 2019, 09:56:50 PM
Have you checked firewall, antivirus ? They might be blocking Electrum too. As you have the right version, it should sync.

I would do what bitcryptex said. Restore from the seed and install again.
9315  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Reminders] TipJar crypto tipping platform shutting down on: October 09, 2019, 08:38:04 PM
Another one taken by the bad market? by competition? or both?

With BAT tipping enabled for redditors to send tips, there's probably no chance for Tipjar to compete.

There are many tipping bots in Reddit, almost every shitcoin has its own.. I don't think it should be hard to make one.
There are even a few tipping bots in telegram
9316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holding will be worth this year or in the long run? on: October 09, 2019, 06:52:53 PM
I found this article on cointelegraph :https://cointelegraph.com/news/nearly-10-billion-in-btc-is-held-in-wallets-of-8-crypto-exchanges. I wonder  if they had the control over the price, they can make a bearish run or even they can wake the bull up? Well for sure there is only one thing to expect it is having a good price in the future. What is your thought if the 10 billion worth of bitcoin will move?

In my opinion, it doesn't matter what exchanges or any other big players do.
Bitcoin movement is upward in long term. I am holding for the next 5-10 years, so there is no problem if we crash now. I can buy more Smiley
9317  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Team needed on: October 08, 2019, 11:50:51 PM
How about providing at least the basic details here, so that 99.9% of people don't have to waste their time contacting you for more information.

That's the hole point, if you don't waste time from time to time THE time will waste you! and I mean you.
Hope you made at last 0.01 cent for replying on this thread.

I don`t think he was writing to earn a few cents.
Your post is more suspicious than his.

What kind of people do you think would PM you to join your team? THere no proof that you even have a project, or an idea (at least). Do you think a good coder would just pm you without even knowing you need a coder?

You could just be trying to scam someone by asking newbies to pm you.

9319  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Fully Decentralized World is Possible? on: October 08, 2019, 11:39:11 PM
You cannot decentralize all things. Some things makes sense to be decentralized, because they are too public, not private. A currency is an amazing example, and there was none since bitcoin. Maybe gold before?
I believe governments should be more decentralized...

But companies shouldn`t be decentralized, for example. Some times it is good to find the ones responsible for running things.
9320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin is Old school techically? on: October 08, 2019, 04:33:51 PM
I think most of the idea behind this "old bitcoin tech" thing is related to scalability.
There are some shitcoins which are faster, but they  are more centralized
Choosing scalability over decentralization is not a good idea. It's better to just use visa.
